وَقَالُوا۟ مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِۦ مِنْ ءَايَةٍۢ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And they said: Whatever portent thou bringest wherewith to bewitch us, we shall not put faith in thee. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اور قوم والوں نے کہاکہ موسٰی علیھ السّلامتم کتنی ہی نشانیاں جادو کرنے کے لئے لاؤ ہم تم پر ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

انہوں نے موسیٰؑ سے کہا کہ ——تو ہمیں مسحور کرنے کے لیے خواہ کوئی نشانی لے آئے، ہم تو تیری بات ماننے والے نہیں ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بولے تم کیسی بھی نشانی لے کر ہمارے پاس آؤ کہ ہم پر اس سے جادو کرو ہم کسی طرح تم پر ایمان لانے والے نہیں - Ahmed Raza

مُّجْرِمِينَ

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍۢ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍۢ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So We sent against them the flood and the locusts and the vermin and the frogs and the blood - a succession of clear signs. But they were arrogant and became a guilty folk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when the terror fell on them they cried: O Moses! Pray for us unto thy Lord, because He hath a covenant with thee. If thou removest the terror from us we verily will trust thee and will let the Children of Israel go with thee. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Whenever a plague fell upon them, they would say, [O Moses, invoke your Lord for us by the covenant He has made with you. If you remove the plague from us, we will certainly believe in you and let the Children of Israel go along with you.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When the torment would strike them, they would ask Moses, [Pray for us to your Lord through your covenant with Him. If He saves us from the torment, we shall certainly believe in you and permit you and the children of Israel to leave]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when the plague fell upon them, they said: O Musa! pray for us to your Lord as He has promised with you, if you remove the plague from us, we will certainly believe in you and we will certainly send away with you the children of Israel. - Shakir, Habib

جب کبھی اُن پر بلا نازل ہو جاتی تو کہتے ——اے موسیٰؑ، تجھے اپنے رب کی طرف سے جو منصب حاصل ہے اس کی بنا پر ہمارے حق میں دعا کر، اگر اب کے تو ہم پر سے یہ بلا ٹلوا دے تو ہم تیری بات مان لیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ان پر عذاب پڑتا کہتے اے موسیٰ ہمارے لیے اپنے رب سے دعا کرو اس عہد کے سبب جو اس کا تمہارے پاس ہے بیشک اگر تم ہم پر عذاب اٹھادو گے تو ہم ضرور تم پر ایمان لائیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تمہارے ساتھ کردیں گے، - Ahmed Raza

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Therefore We took retribution from them; therefore We drowned them in the sea: because they denied Our revelations and were heedless of them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَدَمَّرْنَا

وَقَوْمُهُۥ

كَانُوا۟

وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And We caused the folk who were despised to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We had blessed. And the fair word of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of their endurance; and We annihilated (all) that Pharaoh and his folk had done and that they had contrived. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We made the people who were abased the heirs to the east and west of the land which We had blessed, and your Lord]s best word [of promise] was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of their patience, and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had built and what they used to erect. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We gave the suppressed people the blessed eastern and western regions as their inheritance. Thus, the promises of your Lord to the children of Israel all came true because of the patience which they exercised. He destroyed all the establishments of the Pharaoh and his people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We made the people who were deemed weak to inherit the eastern lands and the western ones which We had blessed; and the good word of your Lord was fulfilled in the children of Israel because they bore up (sufferings) patiently; and We utterly destroyed what Firon and his people had wrought and what they built. - Shakir, Habib

We made the people who were considered weak inheritors of the eastern parts and western parts of the land which We had blessed. اور اُن کی جگہ ہم نے اُن لوگوں کو جو کمزور بنا کر رکھے گئے تھے، اُس سرزمین کے مشرق و مغرب کا وارث بنا دیا جسے ہم نے برکتوں سے مالا مال کیا تھا اس طرح بنی اسرائیل کے حق میں تیرے رب کا وعدہ خیر پورا ہوا کیونکہ اُنہوں نے صبر سے کام لیا تھا اور فرعون اور اس کی قوم کا وہ سب کچھ برباد کر دیا گیا جو وہ بناتے اور چڑھاتے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے اس قوم کو جو دبا لی گئی تھی اس زمین کے پورب پچھم کا وارث کیا جس میں ہم نے برکت رکھی اور تیرے رب کا اچھا وعدہ بنی اسرائیل پر پورا ہوا، بدلہ ان کے صبر کا، اور ہم نے برباد کردیا جو کچھ فرعون اور اس کی قوم بناتی اور جو چنائیاں اٹھاتے (تعمیر کرتے) تھے، - Ahmed Raza

And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came unto a people who were given up to idols which they had. They said: O Moses! Make for us a god even as they have gods. He said: Lo! ye are a folk who know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We carried the Children of Israel across the sea, whereat they came upon a people cleaving to certain idols that they had. They said, [O Moses, make for us a god like the gods that they have.] He said, [You are indeed an ignorant lot. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We helped the children of Israel to cross the sea. They came to a people who worshipped idols. The Israelites demanded Moses to make gods for them like those of the idol-worshippers. Moses told them, [You are an ignorant people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We made the children of Israel to pass the sea; then they came upon a people who kept to the worship of their idols They said: O Musa! make for us a god as they have (their) gods He said: Surely you are a people acting ignorantly: - Shakir, Habib

We brought the children of Israel across the sea and they came upon a people who were devoted to their idols. They said, [Moses, give us a god just like the gods these people have.] He said, [You are indeed an ignorant people: - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا پار پہنچا دیا تو وہ ایک ایسی قوم کے پاس پہنچے جو اپنے بتوں کے گرد مجمع لگائے بیٹھی تھی -ان لوگوں نے موسٰی علیھ السّلامسے کہا کہ موسٰی علیھ السّلامہمارے لئے بھی ایسا ہی خدا بنادو جیسا کہ ان کا خدا ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ تم لوگ بالکل جاہل ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

بنی اسرائیل کو ہم نے سمندر سے گزار دیا، پھر وہ چلے اور راستے میں ایک ایسی قوم پر اُن کا گزر ہوا جو اپنے چند بتوں کی گرویدہ بنی ہوئی تھی کہنے لگے، ——اے موسیٰؑ، ہمارے لیے بھی کوئی ایسا معبود بنا دے جیسے اِن لوگوں کے معبود ہیں—— موسیٰؑ نے کہا ——تم لوگ بڑی نادانی کی باتیں کرتے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا پار اتارا تو ان کا گزر ایک ایسی قوم پر ہوا کہ اپنے بتوں کے آگے آسن مارے (جم کر بیٹھے) تھے بولے اے موسیٰ! ہمیں ایک خدا بنادے جیسا ان کے لیے اتنے خدا ہیں، بولا تم ضرور جا ہل لوگ ہو، - Ahmed Raza

اور جب ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا کے اس پار اتار دیا تو ان کا گزر ایک ایسی قوم سے ہوا جو اپنے (خود ساختہ) معبودوں کی پرستش میں مگن بیٹھی تھی۔ انہوں نے کہا اے موسیٰ ہمارے لئے بھی ایک الٰہ بنا دیں جیسے ان کے الٰہ ہیں۔ موسیٰ نے کہا تم بڑے ہی جاہل لوگ ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَإِذْ أَنجَيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۖ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And (remember) when We did deliver you from Pharaoh's folk who were afflicting you with dreadful torment, slaughtering your sons and sparing your women. That was a tremendous trial from your Lord. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when We delivered you from Pharaoh]s clan who inflicted on you a terrible torment, slaughtering your sons and sparing your women, and there was a great test in that from your Lord. - Qarai, Ali Quli

[Children of Israel, when I saved you from the Pharaoh and his people who made you suffer the worst kinds of torment, killing your sons and keeping your women alive, it was a great trial for you from your Lord.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when We delivered you from Firon's people who subjected you to severe torment, killing your sons and sparing your women, and in this there was a great trial from your Lord. - Shakir, Habib

اور جب ہم نے تم کو فرعون والوں سے نجات دی جو تمہیں بدترین عذاب میں مبتلا کررہے تھے تمہارے لڑکوں کو قتل کررہے تھے اور لڑکیوں کو خدمت کے لئے باقی رکھ رہے تھے اور اس میں تمہارے لئے پروردگار کی طرف سے سخت ترین امتحان تھا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور (اللہ فرماتا ہے) وہ وقت یاد کرو جب ہم نے فرعون والوں سے تمہیں نجات دی جن کا حال یہ تھا کہ تمہیں سخت عذاب میں مبتلا رکھتے تھے، تمہارے بیٹوں کو قتل کرتے اور تمہاری عورتوں کو زندہ رہنے دیتے تھے اور اس میں تمہارے رب کی طرف سے تمہاری بڑی آزمائش تھی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍۢ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ ۚ وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when We did appoint for Moses thirty nights (of solitude), and added to them ten, and he completed the whole time appointed by his Lord of forty nights; and Moses said unto his brother, Aaron: Take my place among the people. Do right, and follow not the way of mischief-makers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights, and completed them with ten [more]; thus the tryst of his Lord was completed in forty nights. And Moses said to Aaron, his brother, [Be my successor among my people, and set things right and do not follow the way of the agents of corruption.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

We told Moses to stay with Us for thirty nights (in the mountains) but added ten nights more so his appointment with his Lord came to an end after forty nights. Moses had appointed his brother Aaron as his deputy among his people during his absence saying, [Try to reform them and do not follow the way of the evil-doers.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We appointed with Musa a time of thirty nights and completed them with ten (more), so the appointed time of his Lord was complete forty nights, and Musa said to his brother Haroun: Take my place among my people, and act well and do not follow the way of the mischief-makers. - Shakir, Habib

We appointed thirty nights for Moses, then added ten more: the term set by his Lord was fulfilled in forty nights. Moses said to his brother Aaron, [Take my place among my people: act rightly and do not follow the way of those who spread corruption.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے موسٰی علیھ السّلامسے تیس راتوں کا وعدہ لیا اور اسے دس مزید راتوں سے مکمل کردیا کہ اس طرح ان کے رب کا وعدہ چالیس راتوں کا وعدہ ہوگیا اور انہوں نے اپنے بھائی ہارون علیھ السّلامسے کہا کہ تم قوم میں میری نیابت کرو اور اصلاح کرتے رہو اور خبردار مفسدوں کے راستہ کا اتباع نہ کرنا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہم نے موسیٰؑ کو تیس شب و روز کے لیے (کوہ سینا پر) طلب کیا اور بعد میں دس دن کا اور اضافہ کر دیا، اِس طرح اُس کے رب کی مقرر کردہ مدت پورے چالیس دن ہو گئی موسیٰؑ نے چلتے ہوئے اپنے بھائی ہارونؑ سے کہا کہ ——میرے پیچھے تم میری قوم میں میری جانشینی کرنا اور ٹھیک کام کرتے رہنا اور بگاڑ پیدا کرنے والوں کے طریقے پر نہ چلنا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے موسیٰ سے تیس رات کا وعدہ فرمایا اور ان میں دس اور بڑھا کر پوری کیں تو اس کے رب کا وعدہ پوری چالیس رات کا ہوا اور موسیٰ نے اپنے بھائی ہارون سے کہا میری قوم پر میرے نائب رہنا اور اصلاح کرنا اور فسادیوں کی راہ کو دخل نہ دینا، - Ahmed Raza

اور ہم نے موسیٰ سے (توراۃ دینے کے لیے) تیس راتوں کا وعدہ کیا تھا اور اسے مزید دس (راتوں) سے مکمل کیا۔ اس طرح ان کے پروردگار کی مدت چالیس راتوں میں پوری ہوگئی اور جناب موسیٰ نے (کوہ طور پر جاتے وقت) اپنے بھائی ہارون سے کہا تم میری قوم میں میرے جانشین بن کر رہو۔ اور اصلاح کرتے رہو اور (خبردار) مفسدین کے راستہ پر نہ چلنا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And when Moses came to Our appointed tryst and his Lord had spoken unto him, he said: My Lord! Show me (Thy Self), that I may gaze upon Thee. He said: Thou wilt not see Me, but gaze upon the mountain! If it stand still in its place, then thou wilt see Me. And when his Lord revealed (His) glory to the mountain He sent it crashing down. And Moses fell down senseless. And when he woke he said: Glory unto Thee! I turn unto Thee repentant, and I am the first of (true) believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When Moses arrived at Our tryst and his Lord spoke to him, he said, [My Lord, show [Yourself] to me, that I may look at You!] He said, [You shall not see Me. But look at the mountain: if it abides in its place, then you will see Me.] So when his Lord disclosed Himself to the mountain, He levelled it, and Moses fell down swooning. When he recovered, he said, [Immaculate are You! I turn to You in penitence, and I am the first of the faithful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

During the appointment, the Lord spoke to Moses. He asked the Lord to show Himself so that he could look at Him. The Lord replied, [You can never see Me. But look at the mountain. If the mountain remains firm only then will you see Me.] When the Lord manifested His Glory to the mountain, He turned it into dust and Moses fell down upon his face senseless. After regaining his senses, Moses said, [Lord, You are all Holy. I repent for what I asked you to do and I am the first to believe in You.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when Musa came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: My Lord! show me (Thyself), so that I may look upon Thee. He said: You cannot (bear to) see Me but look at the mountain, if it remains firm in its place, then will you see Me; but when his Lord manifested His glory to the mountain He made it crumble and Musa fell down in a swoon; then when he recovered, he said: Glory be to Thee, I turn to Thee, and I am the first of the believers. - Shakir, Habib

تو اس کے بعد جب موسٰی علیھ السّلامہمارا وعدہ پورا کرنے کے لئے آئے اور ان کے رب نے ان سے کلام کیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ پروردگار مجھے اپنا جلوہ دکھادے ارشاد ہوا تم ہرگز مجھے نہیں دیکھ سکتے ہو البتہ پہاڑ کی طرف دیکھو اگر یہ اپنی جگہ پر قائم رہ گیا تو پھر مجھے دیکھ سکتے ہو .اس کے بعد جب پہاڑ پر پروردگار کی تجلی ہوئی تو پہاڑ چور چور ہوگیا اور موسٰی علیھ السّلام بیہوش ہوکر گر پڑے پھر جب انہیں ہوش آیا تو کہنے لگے کہ پروردگار تو پاک و پاکیزہ ہے میں تیری بارگاہ میں توبہ کرتا ہوں اور میں سب سے پہلا ایمان لانے والا ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب وہ ہمارے مقرر کیے ہوئے وقت پر پہنچا اور اس کے رب نے اس سے کلام کیا تو اس نے التجا کی کہ ——اے رب، مجھے یارائے نظر دے کہ میں تجھے دیکھوں—— فرمایا ——تو مجھے نہیں دیکھ سکتا ہاں ذرا سامنے کے پہاڑ کی طرف دیکھ، اگر وہ اپنی جگہ قائم رہ جائے تو البتہ تو مجھے دیکھ سکے گا—— چنانچہ اس کے رب نے جب پہاڑ پر تجلی کی تو اسے ریزہ ریزہ کر دیا اور موسیٰؑ غش کھا کر گر پڑا جب ہوش آیا تو بولا ——پاک ہے تیری ذات، میں تیرے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں اور سب سے پہلا ایمان لانے والا میں ہوں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب موسیٰ ہمارے وعدہ پر حاضر ہوا اور اس سے اس کے رب نے کلام فرمایا عرض کی اے رب میرے! مجھے اپنا دیدار دکھا کہ میں تجھے دیکھوں فرمایا تو مجھے ہر گز نہ دیکھ سکے گا ہاں اس پہاڑ کی طرف دیکھ یہ اگر اپنی جگہ پر ٹھہرا رہا تو عنقریب تو مجھے دیکھ لے گا پھر جب اس کے رب نے پہاڑ پر اپنا نو ر چمکایا اسے پاش پاش کردیا اور موسیٰ گرا بیہوش پھر جب ہوش ہوا بولا پاکی ہے تجھے میں تیری طرف رجوع لایا اور میں سب سے پہلا مسلمان ہوں - Ahmed Raza

اور جب جنابِ موسیٰ ہمارے مقرر کردہ وقت پر آگئے اور ان کے پروردگار نے ان سے کلام کیا۔ تو انہوں نے کہا پروردگار! مجھے اپنا جلوہ دکھا تاکہ میں تیری طرف نگاہ کر سکوں۔ ارشاد ہوا تم مجھے کبھی نہیں دیکھ سکوگے۔ مگر ہاں اس پہاڑ کی طرف دیکھو۔ اگر یہ (تجلئِ حق کے وقت) اپنی جگہ پر برقرار رہا تو پھر امید کرنا کہ مجھے دیکھ سکوگے پس جب ان کے پروردگار نے پہاڑ پر اپنی تجلی ڈالی تو اسے ریزہ ریزہ کر دیا اور موسیٰ غش کھا کر گر گئے۔ اور جب ہوش میں آئے تو بولے پاک ہے تیری ذات! میں تیرے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں اور میں سب سے پہلا ایمان لانے والا ہوں (کہ تو نظر نہیں آتا)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
