كِتَٰبٌ
A book
أُنزِلَ
being sent down
إِلَيْكَ
towards you,
فَلَا
so do not
يَكُن
have
فِى
in
صَدْرِكَ
your chest
حَرَجٌۭ
straitness
مِّنْهُ
from it
لِتُنذِرَ
that you warn
بِهِۦ
from it,
وَذِكْرَىٰ
and (it is) a reminder
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
for the ones who are sure.
٧
٢
كِتَٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِى صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌۭ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ A book being sent down towards you, so do not have in your chest straitness from it that you warn from it, and (it is) a reminder for the ones who are sure.
⦿
(It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[This is] a Book that has been sent down to you—so let there be no disquiet in your heart on its account that you may warn thereby—and as an admonition for the faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. - Shakir, Habib

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟
Follow
مَآ
what
أُنزِلَ
has been sent down
إِلَيْكُم
to you
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكُمْ
your Rabb,
وَلَا
and do not
تَتَّبِعُوا۟
follow
مِن
from
دُونِهِۦٓ
beneath Him
أَوْلِيَآءَ
any guardians.
ۗ
قَلِيلًۭا
Little is
مَّا
what
تَذَكَّرُونَ
you remember.
٧
٣
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۗ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ Follow what has been sent down to you from your Rabb, and do not follow from beneath Him any guardians. Little is what you remember.
⦿
(Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any masters besides Him. Little is the admonition that you take! - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
(People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) - Sarwar, Muhammad

Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. - Shakir, Habib

Follow what has been sent down to you by your Lord and do not follow any protector other than Him. How seldom you take heed. - Wahiduddin Khan

لوگوتم اس کا اتباع کرو جو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نازل ہوا ہے اور اس کے علاوہ دوسرے سرپرستوں کا اتباع نہ کرو ,تم بہت کم نصیحت مانتے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

لوگو، جو کچھ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے تم پر نازل کیا گیا ہے اُس کی پیروی کرو اور اپنے رب کو چھوڑ کر دوسرے سرپرستوں کی پیروی نہ کرو مگر تم نصیحت کم ہی مانتے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے لوگو! اس پر چلو جو تمہاری طرف تمہارے رب کے پاس سے اُترا اور اسے چھوڑ کر اور حاکموں کے پیچھے نہ جاؤ، بہت ہی کم سمجھتے ہو، - Ahmed Raza

And how a many
مِّن
of
قَرْيَةٍ
settlements
أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا
We destroyed
فَجَآءَهَا
thus when came to them
بَأْسُنَا
a calamity from Us,
بَيَٰتًا
overnight
أَوْ
or
هُمْ
while they
قَآئِلُونَ
were asleep?
And how a many of settlements We destroyed thus when came to them a calamity from Us, overnight or while they were asleep?
⦿
How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

How many a town We have destroyed! Our punishment came to it at night, or while they were taking a midday nap. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And how many a town that We destroyed, so Our punishment came to it by night or while they slept at midday. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: - Wahiduddin Khan

اور کتنے قرئیے ہیں جنہیں ہم نے برباد کردیا اور ان کے پاس ہمارا عذاب اس وقت آیا جب وہ رات میں سورہے تھے یا دن میں قیلولہ کررہے تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کتنی ہی بستیاں ہیں جنہیں ہم نے ہلاک کر دیا اُن پر ہمارا عذاب اچانک رات کے وقت ٹوٹ پڑا، یا دن دہاڑے ایسے وقت آیا جب وہ آرام کر رہے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کتنی ہی بستیاں ہم نے ہلاک کیں تو ان پر ہمارا عذاب رات میں آیا جب وہ دوپہر کو سوتے تھے - Ahmed Raza
⦿
اور کتنی ہی بستیاں ہیں کہ ہم نے انہیں تباہ کر دیا پس ہمارا عذاب ان پر راتوں رات آیا یا جب وہ دن میں قیلولہ کر رہے تھے (سو رہے تھے)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَمَا
Thus not
كَانَ
was
دَعْوَىٰهُمْ
their call,
إِذْ
when
جَآءَهُم
came to them
بَأْسُنَآ
calamity from Us,
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
قَالُوٓا۟
they said,
إِنَّا
[Certainly
كُنَّا
we were
ظَٰلِمِينَ
the ones in darkness.]
Thus not was their call, when came to them calamity from Us, except that they said, [Certainly we were the ones in darkness.]
⦿
No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Then their cry, when Our punishment overtook them, was only that they said, [We have indeed been wrongdoers!] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
When Our wrath struck them, they could do nothing but confess to their sins. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, [We were indeed wrongdoers!] - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
پھر ہمارا عذاب آنے کے بعد ان کی پکار صرف یہ تھی کہ یقینا ہم لوگ ظالم تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
اور جب ہمارا عذاب اُن پر آ گیا تو ان کی زبان پر اِس کے سوا کوئی صدا نہ تھی کہ واقعی ہم ظالم تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
تو ان کے منہ سے کچھ نہ نکلا جب ہمارا عذاب ان پر آیا مگر یہی بولے کہ ہم ظالم تھے - Ahmed Raza

جب ہمارا عذاب ان پر آیا تو اس کے سوا ان کی اور کوئی پکار نہ تھی کہ بے شک ہم ظالم تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ
Thus We are going to ask
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones
أُرْسِلَ
were sent
إِلَيْهِمْ
to whom,
وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ
and We are going to question
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
the Messengers.
Thus We are going to ask the ones were sent to whom, and We are going to question the Messengers.
⦿
Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
We will surely question those to whom the apostles were sent, and We will surely question the apostles. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; - Shakir, Habib

Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
پس اب ہم ان لوگوں سے بھی سوال کریں گے اور ان کے رسولوں سے بھی سوال کریں گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پس یہ ضرور ہو کر رہنا ہے کہ ہم اُن لوگوں سے باز پرس کریں، جن کی طرف ہم نے پیغمبر بھیجے ہیں اور پیغمبروں سے بھی پوچھیں (کہ اُنہوں نے پیغام رسانی کا فرض کہاں تک انجام دیا اور انہیں اس کا کیا جواب ملا) - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو بیشک ضرور ہمیں پوچھنا ہے ان سے جن کے پاس رسول گئے اور بیشک ضرور ہمیں پوچھنا ہے رسولوں سے - Ahmed Raza

بے شک ہم ان لوگوں سے بھی باز پرس کریں گے۔ جن کی طرف رسول بھیجے گئے تھے۔ اور خود رسولوں سے بھی پوچھ گچھ کریں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Thus We will narrate
عَلَيْهِم
upon them
بِعِلْمٍۢ
regarding the knowing (of it all);
ۖ
وَمَا
and not
كُنَّا
We are of
غَآئِبِينَ
those who are not present.
Thus We will narrate upon them regarding the knowing (of it all); and not We are of those who are not present.
⦿
Then verily We shall narrate unto them (the event) with knowledge, for We were not absent (when it came to pass). - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Then We will surely recount to them with knowledge, for We had not been absent. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
پھر ان سے ساری داستان علم و اطلاع کے ساتھ بیان کریں گے اور ہم خود بھی غائب تو تھے نہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
پھر ہم خود پور ے علم کے ساتھ سرگزشت ان کے آگے پیش کر دیں گے، آخر ہم کہیں غائب تو نہیں تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
تو ضرور ہم ان کو بتادیں گے اپنے علم سے اور ہم کچھ غائب نہ تھے، - Ahmed Raza
⦿
پھر ہم پورے علم کے ساتھ ان کے سامنے سب (حالات و واقعات) بیان کریں گے آخر ہم غیر حاضر تو تھے نہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَٱلْوَزْنُ
And the heavier
يَوْمَئِذٍ
on that day will be
ٱلْحَقُّ
the fact;
ۚ
فَمَن
then whoever
ثَقُلَتْ
has a heavy
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
weight,
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
thus they
هُمُ
are
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
those who re successful.
And the heavier on that day will be the fact; then whoever has a heavy weight, thus they are those who re successful.
⦿
The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
The weighing [of deeds] on that Day is a truth. As for those whose deeds weigh heavy in the scales—it is they who are the felicitous. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
(Everyone's deeds) will certainly be weighed (and evaluated) on the Day of Judgment. Those whose good deeds weigh heavier than their bad deeds will have everlasting happiness. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
آج کے دن اعمال کا وزن ایک برحق شے ہے پھر جس کے نیک اعمال کا پّلہ بھاری ہوگا وہی لوگ نجات پانے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
اور وزن اس روز عین حق ہوگا جن کے پلڑے بھاری ہوں گے وہی فلاح پائیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
اور اس دن تول ضرور ہونی ہے تو جن کے پلے بھاری ہوئے وہی مراد کو پہنچے، - Ahmed Raza
⦿
اور اس دن وزن (اعمال کا تولا جانا) بالکل حق ہے پس جس کے پلے بھاری ہوں گے وہی کامیاب ہوں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَمَنْ
And whoever
خَفَّتْ
has a light
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
weight,
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
thus those are
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
خَسِرُوٓا۟
shorted
أَنفُسَهُم
their own self
بِمَا
because
كَانُوا۟
they were
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
regarding Our signs
يَظْلِمُونَ
in darkness.
٧
٩
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ And whoever has a light weight, thus those are the ones who shorted their own self because they were regarding Our signs in darkness.
⦿
And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
As for those whose deeds weigh light in the scales—it is they who have ruined their souls, because they used to wrong Our signs. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
and those whose good deeds are light [in the balance] will be the ones who have lost themselves because they wrongfully rejected Our signs. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جن کا پّلہ ہلکا ہوگیا یہی وہ لوگ تھے جنہوں نے اپنے نفس کو خسارہ میں رکھا کہ وہ ہماری آیتوں پر ظلم کررہے تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور جن کے پلڑے ہلکے رہیں گے وہی اپنے آپ کو خسارے میں مبتلا کرنے والے ہوں گے کیونکہ وہ ہماری آیات کے ساتھ ظالمانہ برتاؤ کرتے رہے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جن کے پلے ہلکے ہوئے تو وہی ہیں جنہوں نے اپنی جان گھاٹے میں ڈالی ان زیادتیوں کا بدلہ جو ہماری آیتوں پر کرتے تھے - Ahmed Raza

اور جس کے پلے ہلکے ہوں گے۔ وہ اپنے آپ کو خسارے میں مبتلا کرنے والے ہوں گے کیونکہ وہ ناانصافی کرتے تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And for sure
مَكَّنَّٰكُمْ
We housed you all
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land,
وَجَعَلْنَا
and We placed
لَكُمْ
for you all
فِيهَا
therein
مَعَٰيِشَ
livelihoods;

قَلِيلًۭا
little is
مَّا
what
تَشْكُرُونَ
you give thanks for.
٧
١٠
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ ۗ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ And for sure We housed you all in the land, and We placed for you all therein livelihoods; little is what you give thanks for.
⦿
And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We have established you on the earth, and made in it [various] means of livelihood for you. Little do you thank. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We have established you in the earth and made in it means of livelihood for you; little it is that you give thanks. - Shakir, Habib

وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ
We created you,
ثُمَّ
then
صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ
We shaped you,
ثُمَّ
then
قُلْنَا
We said
لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
to the malaikati,
ٱسْجُدُوا۟
[Be executer of service
لِـَٔادَمَ
to Adam.],
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟
thus they surrendered
إِلَّآ
except
إِبْلِيسَ
Iblees,
لَمْ
not
يَكُن
he was
مِّنَ
of
ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
the executers.
٧
١١
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ And certainly We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the malaikati, [Be executer of service to Adam.], thus they surrendered except Iblees, not he was of the executers.

And We created you, then fashioned you, then told the angels: Fall ye prostrate before Adam! And they fell prostrate, all save Iblis, who was not of those who make prostration. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We created you, then We formed you, then We said to the angels, [Prostrate before Adam.] So they [all] prostrated, but not Iblis: he was not among those who prostrated. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We created and shaped you, then told the angels to prostrate themselves before Adam. All the angels obeyed except Satan who did not. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We created you, then We fashioned you, then We said to the angels: Prostrate to Adam. So they did prostrate except Iblis; he was not of those who prostrated. - Shakir, Habib

(The One) said,

prevented you
أَلَّا
that not
تَسْجُدَ
you obeyed
إِذْ
when
أَمَرْتُكَ
you were ordered?]
ۖ
قَالَ
(Iblees) said,
أَنَا۠
[I am
خَيْرٌۭ
better
مِّنْهُ
than him;
خَلَقْتَنِى
You created me
مِن
from
نَّارٍۢ
fire
وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ
whereas You created him
مِن
from
طِينٍۢ
clay.]
٧
١٢
قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍۢ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍۢ (The One) said, [What prevented you that not you obeyed when you were ordered?] (Iblees) said, [I am better than him; You created me from fire whereas You created him from clay.]

He said: What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? (Iblis) said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Said He, [What prevented you from prostrating, when I commanded you? ][I am better than him,] he said. [You created me from fire and You created him from clay.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

God asked, [What made you disobey Me?] Satan replied, [I am better than Adam, for You have created me out of fire and Adam out of clay.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: What hindered you so that you did not prostrate when I commanded you? He said: I am better than he: Thou hast created me of fire, while him Thou didst create of dust. - Shakir, Habib

پوچھا، ——تجھے کس چیز نے سجدہ کرنے سے روکا جب کہ میں نے تجھ کو حکم دیا تھا؟—— بولا، ——میں اُس سے بہتر ہوں، تو نے مجھے آگ سے پیدا کیا ہے اور اُسے مٹی سے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

(The One) said,
فَٱهْبِطْ
[Then go down
مِنْهَا
from it,
فَمَا

يَكُونُ

تَتَكَبَّرَ
you dignify yourself over others
فِيهَا
in it,
فَٱخْرُجْ
so get out!
إِنَّكَ
Indeed you are
مِنَ
from
ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ
the ones who are the lowest.]
٧
١٣
قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ (The One) said, [Then go down from it, thus not it is to be for you that you dignify yourself over others in it, so get out! Indeed you are from the ones who are the lowest.]
⦿
He said: Then go down hence! It is not for thee to show pride here, so go forth! Lo! thou art of those degraded. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Get down from it!] He said. [It is not for you to be arrogant therein. Begone! You are indeed among the degraded ones.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
The Lord ordered Satan to get out (of Paradise) saying, [This is no place for you to be proud. Get out of this place, for you are worthless]. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
He said: Then get forth from this (state), for it does not befit you to behave proudly therein. Go forth, therefore, surely you are of the abject ones. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
God said, [Get down from here! This is no place for your arrogance. Get out! You are contemptible!] - Wahiduddin Khan

فرمایا تو یہاں سے اتر جا تجھے حق نہیں ہے کہ یہاں غرور سے کام لے -نکل جا کہ تو ذلیل لوگوں میں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

فرمایا، ——اچھا تو یہاں سے نیچے اتر تجھے حق نہیں ہے کہ یہاں بڑائی کا گھمنڈ کرے نکل جا کہ در حقیقت تو ان لوگوں میں سے ہے جو خود اپنی ذلت چاہتے ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

their resurrection.]
(Iblees) said, [Give me consideration till day of their resurrection.]

He said: Reprieve me till the day when they are raised (from the dead). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Respite me till the day they will be resurrected.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Satan asked the Lord to give him respite (keep him alive) until the Day of Resurrection. - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: Respite me until the day when they are raised up. - Shakir, Habib

Satan said, [Give me respite until the Day of Resurrection,] - Wahiduddin Khan

The Lord told him, [We will grant you this respite.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

for sure I will sit

صِرَٰطَكَ
on Your path of
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
the stability.]
(Iblees) said, [Then due to how You trapped me, for sure I will sit for them on Your path of the stability.]
⦿
He said: Now, because Thou hast sent me astray, verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
[As You have consigned me to perversity,] he said, [I will surely lie in wait for them on Your straight path. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Then Satan said, [Because you have made me go astray, I shall certainly try to seduce people into straying from the right path. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
He said: As Thou hast caused me to remain disappointed I will certainly lie in wait for them in Thy straight path. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Then Satan said, [Because You have put me in the wrong, I will lie in ambush for them on Your straight path: - Wahiduddin Khan

اس نے کہا کہ پس جس طرح تو نے مجھے گمراہ کیا ہے میں تیرے سیدھے راستہ پر بیٹھ جاؤں گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
بولا، ——اچھا تو جس طرح تو نے مجھے گمراہی میں مبتلا کیا میں بھی اب تیری سیدھی راہ پر - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
بولا تو قسم اس کی کہ تو نے مجھے گمراہ کیا میں ضرور تیرے سیدھے راستہ پر ان کی تاک میں بیٹھوں گا - Ahmed Raza
⦿
کہا چونکہ تو نے مجھے گمراہ کیا ہے تو اب میں تیرے سیدھے راستہ پر بیٹھوں گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

خَلْفِهِمْ
behind their backs,
وَعَنْ
and from
أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ
their rights
وَعَن
and from
شَمَآئِلِهِمْ
their lefts,
ۖ
وَلَا
and not
تَجِدُ
you will find
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
most of them
شَٰكِرِينَ
as thankful.]
٧
١٧
ثُمَّ لَءَاتِيَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ ۖ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَٰكِرِينَ [Then for sure, I will come to them from between their hands, and from behind their backs, and from their rights and from their lefts, and not you will find most of them as thankful.]

Then I shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right hands and from their left hands, and Thou wilt not find most of them beholden (unto Thee). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then I will come at them from their front and from their rear, and from their right and their left, and You will not find most of them to be grateful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

I shall attack them from all directions and You will not find many of them giving You thanks]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Then I will certainly come to them from before them and from behind them, and from their right-hand side and from their left-hand side; and Thou shalt not find most of them thankful. - Shakir, Habib

then I will surely come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left, and then You will find most of them ungrateful.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اس کے بعد سامنے ,پیچھے اور داہنے بائیں سے آؤں گا اور تو اکثریت کو شکر گزار نہ پائے گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن انسانوں کی گھات میں لگا رہوں گا، آگے اور پیچھے، دائیں اور بائیں، ہر طرف سے اِن کو گھیروں گا اور تو ان میں سے اکثر کو شکر گزار نہ پائے گا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر ضرور میں ان کے پاس آؤں گا ان کے آگے اور ان کے پیچھے او ر ان کے دائیں اور ان کے بائیں سے اور تو ان میں سے اکثر کو شکر گزار نہ پائے گا - Ahmed Raza

پھر میں ان کے آگے کی طرف سے اور ان کے پیچھے کی جانب سے اور ان کی دائیں طرف سے اور ان کی بائیں طرف سے آؤں گا (اور انہیں ورغلاؤں گا) اور تو ان میں سے اکثر کو شکر گزار نہیں پائے گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

you reprehensible

outcast!

لَّمَن
For whoever
تَبِعَكَ
adheres to you
مِنْهُمْ
of them,
لَأَمْلَأَنَّ
for sure I will fill up
جَهَنَّمَ
hell
مِنكُمْ
of you
أَجْمَعِينَ

قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًۭا مَّدْحُورًۭا ۖ لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (The One) said, [Get out from it you reprehensible outcast! For whoever adheres to you of them, for sure I will fill up hell of you collectively.

He said: Go forth from hence, degraded, banished. As for such of them as follow thee, surely I will fill hell with all of you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Said He, [Begone hence, blameful and banished! Whoever of them follows you, I will surely fill hell with you all.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The Lord told Satan, [Get out of this garden, for you are banished and despised. Hell will be filled with all of those who follow you.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: Get out of this (state), despised, driven away; whoever of them will follow you, I will certainly fill hell with you all. - Shakir, Habib

He said, [Get out of here, despised, and rejected! I shall fill Hell with all of those who follow you.] - Wahiduddin Khan

فرمایا کہ یہاں سے نکل جا تو ذلیل اور مردود ہے اب جو بھی تیرا اتباع کرے گا میں تم سب سے جہّنم کو بھردوں گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

فرمایا، —— نکل جا یہاں سے ذلیل اور ٹھکرایا ہوا یقین رکھ کہ اِن میں سے جو تیری پیروی کریں گے، تجھ سمیت ان سب سے جہنم کو بھر دوں گا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

فرمایا یہاں سے نکل جا رد کیا گیا راندہ ہوا، ضرور جو اُن میں سے تیرے کہے پر چلا میں تم سب سے جہنم بھردوں گا - Ahmed Raza

[And O Adam!
ٱسْكُنْ
Make home,
أَنتَ

وَزَوْجُكَ
and your mate (your fellow humans),
ٱلْجَنَّةَ
the garden,
فَكُلَا
thus consume
مِنْ
from
حَيْثُ
where
شِئْتُمَا
whatever you want,
وَلَا
while do not
تَقْرَبَا
you come close to
هَٰذِهِ
this
ٱلشَّجَرَةَ
argument (the one which Iblees did),
فَتَكُونَا
because then you will become
مِنَ
of
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the people in darkness.]
٧
١٩
وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ [And O Adam! Make home, you and your mate (your fellow humans), the garden, thus consume from where whatever you want, while do not you come close to this argument (the one which Iblees did), because then you will become of the people in darkness.]

And (unto man): O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden and eat from whence ye will, but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Then He said to Adam,] [O Adam, dwell with your mate in paradise, and eat thereof whence you wish; but do not approach this tree, lest you should be among the wrongdoers.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Then the Lord said, [Adam, stay in the garden with your spouse and eat whatever you want therein, but do not go near this tree lest you transgress]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And (We said): O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the garden; so eat from where you desire, but do not go near this tree, for then you will be of the unjust. - Shakir, Habib

To Adam He said, [You and your wife, dwell in the Garden and eat and drink there from wherever you wish, but do not approach this tree, lest you become wrongdoers.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اے آدم علیھ السّلامتم اور تمہاری زوجہ دونوں جنّت میں داخل ہوجاؤ اور جہاں جو چاہو کھاؤ لیکن اس درخت کے قریب نہ جانا کہ ظلم کرنے والوں میں شمار ہوجاؤ گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے آدمؑ، تو اور تیری بیوی، دونوں اس جنت میں رہو، جہاں جس چیز کو تمہارا جی چاہے کھاؤ، مگر اس درخت کے پاس نہ پھٹکنا ورنہ ظالموں میں سے ہو جاؤ گے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

فَوَسْوَسَ
Thus sycophanted
لَهُمَا
to them
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the (religious) devil
لِيُبْدِىَ
to make apparent
لَهُمَا
for them,
مَا
that which was
وُۥرِىَ
hidden
عَنْهُمَا
from them
مِن
of
سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا
their offensive side,
وَقَالَ
and said,
مَا
[Not
نَهَىٰكُمَا
forbade you
رَبُّكُمَا
your Rabb
عَنْ
against
هَٰذِهِ
this
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
disagreement (the one which Iblees did),
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
تَكُونَا
you become
مَلَكَيْنِ
lords,
أَوْ
or
تَكُونَا
that you become
مِنَ
of
ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ
the immortalized.]
٧
٢٠
فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِيُبْدِىَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ Thus sycophanted to them the (religious) devil to make apparent for them, that which was hidden from them of their offensive side, and said, [Not forbade you your Rabb against this disagreement (the one which Iblees did), except that you become lords, or that you become of the immortalized.]

Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and he said: Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then Satan tempted them, to expose to them what was hidden from them of their nakedness, and he said, [Your Lord has only forbidden you from this tree lest you should become angels, or lest you become immortal.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Satan tempted them to reveal that which was kept private from them and said, [Your Lord has not prohibited you (to eat the fruits of this tree) unless you want to be angels or immortal.] - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
But the Shaitan made an evil suggestion to them that he might make manifest to them what had been hidden from them of their evil inclinations, and he said: Your Lord has not forbidden you this tree except that you may not both become two angels or that you may (not) become of the immortals. - Shakir, Habib

But Satan tempted them so that he might reveal to them their nakedness which had been hidden from them. He said, [Your Lord has forbidden you to approach this tree lest you should become angels or become of the immortals,] - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر شیطان نے ان دونوں میں وسوسہ پیدا کرایا کہ جن شرم کے مقامات کو چھپا رکھا ہے وہ نمایاں ہوجائیں اور کہنے لگا کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے تمہیں اس درخت سے صرف اس لئے روکا ہے کہ تم فرشتے ہوجاؤ گے یا تم ہمیشہ رہنے والو میں سے ہوجاؤ گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر شیطان نے اُن کو بہکایا تاکہ ان کی شرمگاہیں جو ایک دوسرے سے چھپائی گئی تھیں ان کے سامنے کھول دے اس نے ان سے کہا، ——تمہارے رب نے تمہیں جو اس درخت سے روکا ہے اس کی وجہ اِس کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے کہ کہیں تم فرشتے نہ بن جاؤ، یا تمہیں ہمیشگی کی زندگی حاصل نہ ہو جائے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر شیطان نے ان کے جی میں خطرہ ڈالا کہ ان پر کھول دے ان کی شرم کی چیزیں جو ان سے چھپی تھیں اور بولا تمہیں تمہارے رب نے اس پیڑ سے اسی لیے منع فرمایا ہے کہ کہیں تم دو فرشتے ہوجاؤ یا ہمیشہ جینے والے - Ahmed Raza

تو شیطان نے جھوٹی قسم کھا کر ان دونوں کو وسوسہ میں ڈالا۔ تاکہ ان کے وہ ستر والے مقام جو ایک دوسرے سے پوشیدہ تھے ظاہر کر دے اور کہا کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے تمہیں صرف اس لئے اس درخت سے روکا ہے کہ کہیں فرشتے نہ بن جاؤ یا ہمیشہ زندہ رہنے والوں میں سے نہ ہو جاؤ۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And pledged to them,
إِنِّى

And pledged to them, [I am for you from those who are the sincere.]

And he swore unto them (saying): Lo! I am a sincere adviser unto you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And he swore to them, [I am indeed your well-wisher.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Satan swore before them that he was giving them good advice. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And he swore to them both: Most surely I am a sincere adviser to you. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
and he swore to them, [Surely, I am your well-wisher.] - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
اور دونوں سے قسم کھائی کہ میں تمہیں نصیحت کرنے والوں میں ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
اور اس نے قسم کھا کر ان سے کہا کہ میں تمہارا سچا خیر خواہ ہوں - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
اور ان سے قسم کھائی کہ میں تم دونوں کا خیر خواہ ہوں، - Ahmed Raza
⦿
اور اس نے دونوں سے قسم کھائی کہ میں تمہارے سچے خیرخواہوں میں سے ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Thus he deluded them
بِغُرُورٍۢ
through elitism.
ۚ
فَلَمَّا
Then when
ذَاقَا
experienced
ٱلشَّجَرَةَ
the argument,
بَدَتْ
appeared
لَهُمَا
to them
سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا
their offensive side,
وَطَفِقَا
and began to
يَخْصِفَانِ
fashion up
عَلَيْهِمَا
upon themselves
مِن
from
وَرَقِ
leaves of
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
the garden.
ۖ
وَنَادَىٰهُمَا
And called upon them
رَبُّهُمَآ
their Rabb,
أَلَمْ
[Did not
أَنْهَكُمَا
I forbid you
عَن
from
تِلْكُمَا
that, what
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
this argument is,
وَأَقُل
and did not I say
لَّكُمَآ
to you:
إِنَّ
— Surely
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ
the fiend
لَكُمَا
for you both is
عَدُوٌّۭ
an enemy
مُّبِينٌۭ
clearly! — ?]

٢٢
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا بِغُرُورٍۢ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا ٱلشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَىٰهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ Thus he deluded them through elitism. Then when experienced the argument, appeared to them their offensive side, and began to fashion up upon themselves from leaves of the garden. And called upon them their Rabb, [Did not I forbid you from that, what this argument is, and did not I say to you: — Surely the fiend for you both is an enemy clearly! — ?]

Thus did he lead them on with guile. And when they tasted of the tree their shame was manifest to them and they began to hide (by heaping) on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called them, (saying): Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you: Lo! Satan is an open enemy to you? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Thus he brought about their fall by deception. So when they tasted of the tree, their nakedness became exposed to them, and they began to stitch over themselves with the leaves of paradise. Their Lord called out to them, [Did I not forbid you from that tree, and tell you, [[Satan is indeed your manifest enemy?]] ] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Thus, he deceitfully showed them (the tree). When they had tasted (fruits) from the tree, their private parts became revealed to them and they began to cover their private parts with leaves from the garden. Their Lord then called out to them saying, [Did I not forbid you to eat (fruits) from the tree and tell you that Satan was your sworn enemy?] - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Then he caused them to fall by deceit; so when they tasted of the tree, their evil inclinations became manifest to them, and they both began to cover themselves with the leaves of the garden; and their Lord called out to them: Did I not forbid you both from that tree and say to you that the Shaitan is your open enemy? - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Thus he cunningly seduced them. When they tasted the tree's fruit, their nakedness became exposed to them and they started covering themselves with the leaves of the garden. Their Lord called out to them, [Did I not forbid you to approach that tree, and did I not say to you that Satan was surely your open enemy?] - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
پھر انہیں دھوکہ کے ذریعہ درخت کی طرف جھکا دیا اور جیسے ہی ان دونوں نے چکّھا شرمگاہیں کھلنے لگیں اور انہوں نے درختوں کے پتے جوڑ کر شرمگاہوں کو چھپانا شروع کردیا تو ان کے رب نے آواز دی کہ کیا ہم نے تم دونوں کو اس درخت سے منع نہیں کیا تھا اور کیا ہم نے تمہیں نہیں بتایا تھا کہ شیطان تمہارا کھلا ہوا دشمن ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس طرح دھو کا دے کر وہ ان دونوں کو رفتہ رفتہ اپنے ڈھب پرلے آیا آخرکار جب انہوں نے اس درخت کا مزا چکھا تو ان کے ستر ایک دوسرے کے سامنے کھل گئے اور اپنے جسموں کو جنت کے پتوں سے ڈھانکنے لگے تب ان کے رب نے انہیں پکارا، —— کیا میں نے تمہیں اس درخت سے نہ روکا تھا اور نہ کہا تھا کہ شیطان تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے؟—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو اُتار لایا انہیں فریب سے پھر جب انہوں نے وہ پیڑ چکھا ان پر اُن کی شرم کی چیزیں کھل گئیں اور اپنے بدن پر جنت کے پتے چپٹانے لگے، اور انہیں ان کے رب نے فرمایا کیا میں نے تمہیں اس پیڑ سے منع نہ کیا اور نہ فرمایا تھا کہ شیطان تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے، - Ahmed Raza

اس طرح اس نے ان دونوں کو فریب سے مائل کر دیا (اور اس طرح جنت) کی بلندیوں سے زمین کی پستیوں تک پہنچا دیا۔ پس جب انہوں نے اس درخت کا مزہ چکھا۔ تو ان کے جسم کے چھپے ہوئے حصے نمودار ہوگئے اور وہ جنت کے پتوں کو جوڑ کر اپنے یہ مقام (ستر) چھپانے لگے تب ان کے پروردگار نے ان کو ندا دی۔ کیا میں نے تمہیں اس درخت کے پاس جانے سے منع نہیں کیا تھا؟ اور نہیں کہا تھا کہ شیطان تمہارا کھلا ہوا دشمن ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

They both said,
رَبَّنَا
[Our Rabb!
ظَلَمْنَآ
We have wronged
أَنفُسَنَا
ourselves
وَإِن
and if
لَّمْ
not
تَغْفِرْ
You have forgiveness
لَنَا
over us
وَتَرْحَمْنَا
and keep us safe,
لَنَكُونَنَّ
for sure we are going to become
مِنَ
of
ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
the losers.]

قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ They both said, [Our Rabb! We have wronged ourselves and if not You have forgiveness over us and keep us safe, for sure we are going to become of the losers.]

They said: Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, surely we are of the lost! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They said, [Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves! If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They replied, [Lord, we have done injustice to our souls. If You will not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall certainly have incurred a great loss.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

They said: Our Lord! We have been unjust to ourselves, and if Thou forgive us not, and have (not) mercy on us, we shall certainly be of the losers. - Shakir, Habib

ان دونوں نے کہا کہ پروردگار ہم نے اپنے نفس پر ظلم کیا ہے اب اگر تو معاف نہ کرے گا اور رحم نہ کرے گا تو ہم خسارہ اٹھانے والوں میں ہوجائیں گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

دونوں بول اٹھے، ——اے رب، ہم نے اپنے اوپر ستم کیا، اب اگر تو نے ہم سے در گزر نہ فرمایا اور رحم نہ کیا تو یقیناً ہم تباہ ہو جائیں گے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

دونوں نے عرض کی، اے رب ہمارے! ہم نے اپنا آپ بُرا کیا، تو اگر تُو ہمیں نہ بخشے اور ہم پر رحم نہ کرے تو ہم ضرور نقصان والوں میں ہوئے، - Ahmed Raza

قَالَ
The One said,
ٱهْبِطُوا۟
[Go down,
بَعْضُكُمْ
some of you
لِبَعْضٍ
for some
عَدُوٌّۭ
as an enemy,
ۖ
وَلَكُمْ
and for you
فِى
within
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land is
مُسْتَقَرٌّۭ
dwelling,
وَمَتَٰعٌ
and a provision
إِلَىٰ
till
حِينٍۢ
a time.]

قَالَ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّۭ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّۭ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ The One said, [Go down, some of you for some as an enemy, and for you within the land is dwelling, and a provision till a time.]

He said: Go down (from hence), one of you a foe unto the other. There will be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a while. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Get down, being enemies of one another! On the earth shall be your abode and sustenance for a time.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The Lord told them to leave the garden as each other's enemies and go to earth to dwell and benefit from the means therein for an appointed time. - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: Get forth, some of you, the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time. - Shakir, Habib

He said, [Go down from here as enemies to each other. For a while, there is an abode for you and a provision on earth. - Wahiduddin Khan

ارشاد ہوا کہ تم سب زمین میں اتر جاؤ اور سب ایک دوسرے کے دشمن ہو -زمین میں تمہارے لئے ایک مّدت تک ٹھکانا اور سامان زندگانی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(The One) said,
فِيهَا
[Therein
تَحْيَوْنَ
you will live,
وَفِيهَا

تَمُوتُونَ
you will die,

you will be brought out.]
(The One) said, [Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from therein you will be brought out.]

O bani
ءَادَمَ
Adam!
قَدْ
Indeed
أَنزَلْنَا
We alighted (conceptualized)
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
لِبَاسًۭا
clothing as
يُوَٰرِى
covering up of
سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ
your private parts,
وَرِيشًۭا
and as adornments (or shields);
ۖ
وَلِبَاسُ
while an attire of
ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ
being aware,
ذَٰلِكَ
that is
خَيْرٌۭ
better.
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
That is
مِنْ
from
ءَايَٰتِ
signs of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
لَعَلَّهُمْ
so that they may
يَذَّكَّرُونَ
remember it.
٧
٢٦
يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًۭا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًۭا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ O bani Adam! Indeed We alighted (conceptualized) upon you clothing as covering up of your private parts, and as adornments (or shields); while an attire of being aware, that is better. That is from signs of the One so that they may remember it.

O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame, and splendid vesture, but the raiment of restraint from evil, that is best. This is of the revelations of Allah, that they may remember. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[O Children of Adam! We have certainly sent down to you garments to cover your nakedness, and for adornment. Yet the garment of Godwariness—that is the best.] That is [one] of Allah]s signs, so that they may take admonition. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Children of Adam, We have given you clothing to cover your private parts and for beauty, but the robe of piety is the best. Thus is the guidance of God so that you may take heed. - Sarwar, Muhammad

O children of Adam! We have indeed sent down to you clothing to cover your shame, and (clothing) for beauty and clothing that guards (against evil), that is the best. This is of the communications of Allah that they may be mindful. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
O children of Adam! We have sent down to you clothes to cover your nakedness, and to be pleasing to the eye; but the raiment of righteousness is the best. That is one of the signs of God. So that people may take heed. - Wahiduddin Khan

اے اولادُ آدم ہم نے تمہارے لئے لباس نازل کیا ہے جس سے اپنی شرمگاہوں کا پردہ کرو اور زینت کا لباس بھی دیا ہے لیکن تقوٰی کا لباس سب سے بہتر ہے یہ بات آیات الٰہیٰہ میں ہے کہ شاید وہ لوگ عبرت حاصل کرسکیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے اولاد آدم، ہم نے تم پر لباس نازل کیا ہے کہ تمہارے جسم کے قابل شرم حصوں کو ڈھانکے اور تمہارے لیے جسم کی حفاظت اور زینت کا ذریعہ بھی ہو، اور بہترین لباس تقویٰ کا لباس ہے یہ اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے ایک نشانی ہے، شاید کہ لوگ اس سے سبق لیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے آدم کی اولاد! بیشک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک لباس وہ اُتارا کہ تمہاری شرم کی چیزیں چھپائے اور ایک وہ کہ تمہاری آرائش ہو اور پرہیزگاری کا لباس وہ سب سے بھلا یہ اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے ہے کہ کہیں وہ نصیحت مانیں، - Ahmed Raza

يَٰبَنِىٓ
O bani
ءَادَمَ
Adam!
لَا
Do not
يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ
let afflict you
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the incoherant fiend
كَمَآ
as how
أَخْرَجَ
he brought out
أَبَوَيْكُم
your parents
مِّنَ
from
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
the garden,
يَنزِعُ
removed
عَنْهُمَا
from them
لِبَاسَهُمَا
their cover
لِيُرِيَهُمَا
to show to them
سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ
their hidden aspects;
ۗ
إِنَّهُۥ
indeed he (the fiend),
يَرَىٰكُمْ
watches you
هُوَ
— him
وَقَبِيلُهُۥ
and his group —
مِنْ
from
حَيْثُ
where
لَا
not
تَرَوْنَهُمْ
you watch them;
ۗ
إِنَّا
certainly,
جَعَلْنَا
We have made
ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ
the religious-devils
أَوْلِيَآءَ
friends
لِلَّذِينَ
to the ones who
لَا
don't
يُؤْمِنُونَ
have conviction.
٧
٢٧
يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ كَمَآ أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ ۗ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ O bani Adam! Do not let afflict you the incoherant fiend as how he brought out your parents from the garden, removed from them their cover to show to them their hidden aspects; indeed he (the fiend), watches you — him and his group — from where not you watch them; certainly, We have made the religious-devils friends to the ones who don't have conviction.

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the Garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! he seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see him not. Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[O Children of Adam! Do not let Satan tempt you, like he expelled your parents from paradise, stripping them of their garments to expose to them their nakedness. Indeed he sees you—he and his hosts—whence you do not see them. We have indeed made the devils friends of those who have no faith.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Children of Adam, do not let Satan seduce you, as he caused your parents to be expelled from the garden and made them take off their clothes in order to show them their private parts. Satan and those like him see you but you do not see them. We have made the Satans as friends for those who have no faith. - Sarwar, Muhammad

O children of Adam! let not the Shaitan cause you to fall into affliction as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them both their clothing that he might show them their evil inclinations, he surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you cannot see them; surely We have made the Shaitans to be the guardians of those who do not believe. - Shakir, Habib

Children of Adam, do not let Satan seduce you, just as he turned your parents out of the Garden: he deprived them of their garment in order to make them aware of their nakedness. He and his forces watch you from where you do not see them! We have made the devils friends of those who do not believe. - Wahiduddin Khan

اے اولاد آدم خبردار شیطان تمہیں بھی نہ بہکادے جس طرح تمہارے ماں باپ کو جنّت سے نکال لیا اس عالم میں کہ ان کے لباس الگ کرادئیے تاکہ شرمگاہیں ظاہر ہوجائیں -وہ اور اس کے قبیلہ والے تمہیں دیکھ رہے ہیں اس طرح کہ تم انہیں نہیں دیکھ رہے ہو بیشک ہم نے شیاطین کو بے ایمان انسانوں کا دوست بنادیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے بنی آدم، ایسا نہ ہو کہ شیطان تمہیں پھر اُسی طرح فتنے میں مبتلا کر دے جس طرح اس نے تمہارے والدین کو جنت سے نکلوایا تھا اور ا ن کے لباس ان پر سے اتروا دیے تھے تاکہ ان کی شرمگاہیں ایک دوسرے کے سامنے کھولے وہ اور اس کے ساتھی تمہیں ایسی جگہ سے دیکھتے ہیں جہاں سے تم انہیں نہیں دیکھ سکتے اِن شیاطین کو ہم نے اُن لوگوں کا سرپرست بنا دیا ہے جو ایمان نہیں لاتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے آدم کی اولاد! خبردار! تمہیں شیطان فتنہ میں نہ ڈالے جیسا تمہارے ماں باپ کو بہشت سے نکالا اتروا دیئے ان کے لباس کہ ان کی شرم کی چیزیں انہیں نظر پڑیں، بیشک وہ اور اس کا کنبہ تمہیں وہاں سے دیکھتے ہیں کہ تم انہیں نہیں دیکھتے بیشک ہم نے شیطانوں کو ان کا دوست کیا ہے جو ایمان نہیں لاتے، - Ahmed Raza

اے اولادِ آدم! (ہوشیار رہنا) کہیں ایسا نہ ہو کہ شیطان تمہیں اسی طرح فتنہ میں مبتلا کر دے جس طرح اس نے تمہارے ماں باپ کو جنت سے نکلوایا تھا۔ اور ان کے جسم سے کپڑے تک اتروا دیئے تھے تاکہ ان کے جسم کے قابلِ ستر حصے ان کو دکھا دے یقینا وہ (شیطان) اور اس کا قبیلہ تمہیں جس طرح اور جہاں سے دیکھتا ہے تم انہیں اس طرح نہیں دیکھ سکتے بے شک ہم نے شیطانوں کو ان کا سرپرست بنایا ہے جو ایمان نہیں رکھتے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَعَلُوا۟

فَٰحِشَةًۭ
an inappropriate act
قَالُوا۟
they said,
وَجَدْنَا

عَلَيْهَآ

ءَابَآءَنَا
our elders
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One
أَمَرَنَا
has commanded us
بِهَا
about it.]
ۗ
قُلْ
Say,
إِنَّ
[Surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One
لَا
not
يَأْمُرُ
commands
بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ
about the vulgarity!
ۖ
أَتَقُولُونَ
Or do you declare
عَلَى
upon
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مَا
what
لَا
not
تَعْلَمُونَ
you know?]

وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةًۭ قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ And whenever they did an inappropriate act they said, [We found on this our elders and the One has commanded us about it.] Say, [Surely the One not commands about the vulgarity! Or do you declare upon the One what not you know?]

And when they do some lewdness they say: We found our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us. Say: Allah, verily, enjoineth not lewdness. Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When they commit an indecency, they say, [We found our fathers practising it, and Allah has enjoined it upon us.] Say, [Indeed Allah does not enjoin indecencies. Do you attribute to Allah what you do not know?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When (The faithless) commit indecent acts they say, [We found our fathers doing this and God has commanded us to do the same.] (Muhammad) tell them that God does not command anyone to commit indecency. Do you speak for God, saying things of which you have no knowledge? - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when they commit an indecency they say: We found our fathers doing this, and Allah has enjoined it on us. Say: Surely Allah does not enjoin indecency; do you say against Allah what you do not know? - Shakir, Habib

اور یہ لوگ جب کوئی براکام کرتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے آباؤ اجداد کو اسی طریقہ پر پایا ہے اور اللہ نے یہی حکم دیا ہے -آپ فرمادیجئے کہ خدا بری بات کا حکم دے ہی نہیں سکتا ہے کیا تم خدا کے خلاف وہ کہہ رہے ہو جو جانتے بھی نہیں ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ لوگ جب کوئی شرمناک کام کرتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو اسی طریقہ پر پایا ہے اور اللہ ہی نے ہمیں ایسا کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اِن سے کہو اللہ بے حیائی کا حکم کبھی نہیں دیا کرتا کیا تم اللہ کا نام لے کر وہ باتیں کہتے ہو جن کے متعلق تمہیں علم نہیں ہے (وہ اللہ کی طرف سے ہیں)؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Say,
أَمَرَ
[Commands
رَبِّى
my Rabb
بِٱلْقِسْطِ
regarding the fairness,
ۖ
وَأَقِيمُوا۟
and to uphold
وُجُوهَكُمْ
your rationality and reasoning
عِندَ
in front of
كُلِّ
every
مَسْجِدٍۢ
court,
وَٱدْعُوهُ
and call to Him,
مُخْلِصِينَ
being loyal
لَهُ
to Him for
ٱلدِّينَ
the governance system;
ۚ
كَمَا
just like how
بَدَأَكُمْ
you began,
تَعُودُونَ
you will revert.]

٢٩
قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّى بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍۢ وَٱدْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ Say, [Commands my Rabb regarding the fairness, and to uphold your rationality and reasoning in front of every court, and call to Him, being loyal to Him for the governance system; just like how you began, you will revert.]

Say: My Lord enjoineth justice. And set your faces upright (toward Him) at every place of worship and call upon Him, making religion pure for Him (only). As He brought you into being, so return ye (unto Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [My Lord has enjoined justice,] and [He has enjoined,] [Set your heart [on Him] at every occasion of prayer, and invoke Him, putting your exclusive faith in Him. Even as He brought you forth in the beginning, so will you return.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Say, [My Lord has ordered me to maintain justice. (People), pay due attention (when worshipping God). Pray to Him sincerely and be devoted in your religion. Just as He gave you life, He will bring you back to life again (after you die.)] - Sarwar, Muhammad

اے محمدؐ، ان سے کہو، میرے رب نے تو راستی و انصاف کا حکم دیا ہے، اور اس کا حکم تو یہ ہے کہ ہر عبادت میں اپنا رخ ٹھیک رکھو اور اُسی کو پکارو اپنے دین کو اس کے لیے خالص رکھ کر جس طرح اُس نے تمہیں اب پیدا کیا ہے اسی طرح تم پھر پیدا کیے جاؤ گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

فَرِيقًا
A group
هَدَىٰ
that is guided,
وَفَرِيقًا
and a group
حَقَّ
factual
عَلَيْهِمُ
upon whom is
ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ
the darkness;
ۗ
إِنَّهُمُ
for sure
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
have adopted
ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ
the religious devils
أَوْلِيَآءَ
as guardians
مِن
from
دُونِ
beneath
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَيَحْسَبُونَ
and they reckon
أَنَّهُم
that they
مُّهْتَدُونَ
ought to be guided.
٧
٣٠
فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ ۗ إِنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ A group that is guided, and a group factual upon whom is the darkness; for sure have adopted the religious devils as guardians from beneath the One and they reckon that they ought to be guided.

A party hath He led aright, while error hath just hold over (another) party, for lo! they choose the devils for protecting supporters instead of Allah and deem that they are rightly guided. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

A part [of mankind] He has guided and a part has deserved [to be consigned to] error, for they took devils for guardians instead of Allah, and supposed they were guided. - Qarai, Ali Quli

He has guided one group (of people) and the other group go is doomed to astray; the latter group took Satan as their guardian instead of God and thought that they were rightly guided. - Sarwar, Muhammad

A part has He guided aright and (as for another) part, error is justly their due, surely they took the Shaitans for guardians beside Allah, and they think that they are followers of the right - Shakir, Habib

Some He has guided and some have earned misguidance: they have taken devils rather than God as their patrons, thinking that they are rightly guided. - Wahiduddin Khan
