وَإِذْ
And when
قَالَ
will be said by
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
يَٰعِيسَى
[O Essa
ٱبْنَ
son of
مَرْيَمَ
Maryam!
ءَأَنتَ
Did you
قُلْتَ
say
لِلنَّاسِ
for the people
ٱتَّخِذُونِى
— [Take me
وَأُمِّىَ
and my mother
إِلَٰهَيْنِ
as gods
مِن
from
دُونِ
under
ٱللَّهِ
the One] — ?]
ۖ
قَالَ
Essa will say,
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
[Glory is Yours!
مَا
Not
يَكُونُ
it is
لِىٓ
for me
أَنْ
that
أَقُولَ
I say
مَا
what
لَيْسَ
not is
لِى
for me
بِحَقٍّ
with fact;
ۚ
إِن
if
كُنتُ
I had
قُلْتُهُۥ
said it
فَقَدْ
then surely
عَلِمْتَهُۥ
You would know;
ۚ
تَعْلَمُ
You know
مَا
what is
فِى
in
نَفْسِى
my self
وَلَآ
and not
أَعْلَمُ
I know
مَا
what is
فِى
in
نَفْسِكَ
Your Personage;
ۚ
إِنَّكَ
you certainly
أَنتَ
are
عَلَّٰمُ
knowledged of
ٱلْغُيُوبِ
all the invisibles.]
٥
١١٦
وَإِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِى وَأُمِّىَ إِلَٰهَيْنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِحَقٍّ ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلْتُهُۥ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُۥ ۚ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِى وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِكَ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ And when will be said by the One, [O Essa son of Maryam! Did you say for the people — [Take me and my mother as gods from under the One] — ?] Essa will say, [Glory is Yours! Not it is for me that I say what not is for me with fact; if I had said it then surely You would know; You know what is in my self and not I know what is in Your Personage; you certainly are knowledged of all the invisibles.]

And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when Allah will say, [O Jesus son of Mary! Was it you who said to the people, [[Take me and my mother for gods besides Allah]]?] He will say, [Immaculate are You! It does not behoove me to say what I have no right to [say]. Had I said it, You would certainly have known it: You know whatever is in my self, and I do not know what is in Your Self. Indeed, You are knower of all that is Unseen. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When God asked Jesus, son of Mary [Did you tell men to consider you and your mother as their gods besides God?] he replied, [Glory be to you! How could I say what I have no right to say? Had I ever said it, You would have certainly known about it. You know what is in my soul, but I do not know what is in Yours. It is You who has absolute knowledge of the unseen. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when Allah will say: O Isa son of Marium! did you say to men, Take me and my mother for two gods besides Allah he will say: Glory be to Thee, it did not befit me that I should say what I had no right to (say); if I had said it, Thou wouldst indeed have known it; Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in Thy mind, surely Thou art the great Knower of the unseen things. - Shakir, Habib

When God says, [Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to people, [Take me and my mother as two deities besides God]?] He will answer, [Glory be to You! How could I ever say that to which I have no right? If I had ever said so, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my mind, while I do not know anything that is within Yours. You alone are the knower of unseen things -- - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب اللہ نے کہا کہ اے عیسٰی بن مریم کیا تم نے لوگوں سے یہ کہہ دیا ہے کہ اللہ کو چھوڑ کو مجھے اور میری ماں کو خدا مان لو .... تو عیسٰی نے عرض کی کہ تیری ذات بے نیاز ہے میں ایسی بات کیسے کہوں گا جس کا مجھے کوئی حق نہیں ہے اور اگر میں نے کہا تھا تو تجھے تو معلوم ہی ہے کہ تو میرے دل کا حال جانتا ہے اور میں تیرے اسرار نہیں جانتا ہوں -تو ,تو غیب کا جاننے والا بھی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

غرض جب (یہ احسانات یاد دلا کر) اللہ فرمائے گا کہ ——اے عیسیٰ ابن مریم! کیا تو نے لوگوں سے کہا تھا کہ خدا کے سوا مجھے اور میری ماں کو بھی خدا بنا لو؟—— تو وہ جواب میں عرض کرے گا کہ ——سبحان اللہ! میرا یہ کام نہ تھا کہ وہ بات کہتا جس کے کہنے کا مجھے حق نہ تھا، اگر میں نے ایسی بات کہی ہوتی، تو آپ کو ضرور علم ہوتا، آپ جانتے ہیں جو کچھ میرے دل میں ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا جو کچھ آپ کے دل میں ہے، آپ تو ساری پوشیدہ حقیقتوں کے عالم ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب اللہ فرمائے گا اے مریم کے بیٹے عیسیٰ! کیا تو نے لوگوں سے کہہ دیا تھا کہ مجھے اور میری ماں کو دو خدا بنالو اللہ کے سوا عرض کرے گا، پاکی ہے تجھے مجھے روا نہیں کہ وہ بات کہوں جو مجھے نہیں پہنچتی اگر میں نے ایسا کہا ہو تو ضرور تجھے معلوم ہوگا تو جانتا ہے جو میرے جی میں ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا جو تیرے علم میں ہے، بیشک تو ہی ہے سب غیبوں کا خوب جاننے والا - Ahmed Raza

وہ وقت یاد کرو جب اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائے گا اے عیسیٰ بن مریم کیا تم نے لوگوں سے کہا تھا کہ اللہ کو چھوڑ کر مجھے اور میری ماں کو خدا بنا لو۔ عیسیٰ کہیں گے پاک ہے تیری ذات بھلا میں وہ بات کس طرح کہہ سکتا ہوں جس کا مجھے کوئی حق نہیں ہے اگر میں نے کوئی ایسی بات کہی ہوتی تو تجھے ضرور اس کا علم ہوتا۔ کیونکہ تو وہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے جو میرے دل میں ہے مگر میں تیرے اسرارِ نہانی کو نہیں جانتا۔ بلاشبہ تو غیب کی تمام باتوں کا بڑا جاننے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

regarding it

ٱعْبُدُوا۟
— [Be in servitude of
ٱللَّهَ
the One,
رَبِّى
my Rabb
وَرَبَّكُمْ
and your Rabb] —
ۚ
وَكُنتُ
and You are
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon them
شَهِيدًۭا
a witness
مَّا
what
دُمْتُ
was perpetuated
فِيهِمْ
within them;
ۖ
فَلَمَّا
then when
تَوَفَّيْتَنِى
You completed my term,
كُنتَ
there were
أَنتَ
You,
ٱلرَّقِيبَ
the monitor
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon them;
ۚ
وَأَنتَ
and You
عَلَىٰ
upon
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍۢ
thing are
شَهِيدٌ
as a witness.]
٥
١١٧
مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرْتَنِى بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًۭا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ [Not I said to them except what You commanded regarding it that — [Be in servitude of the One, my Rabb and your Rabb] — and You are upon them a witness what was perpetuated within them; then when You completed my term, there were You, the monitor upon them; and You upon every thing are as a witness.]

I spake unto them only that which Thou commandedst me, (saying): Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. I was a witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when Thou tookest me Thou wast the Watcher over them. Thou art Witness over all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

I did not say to them [anything] except what You had commanded me [to say]: [[Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.]] And I was a witness to them so long as I was among them. But when You had taken me away, You Yourself were watchful over them, and You are witness to all things. - Qarai, Ali Quli

[I did not tell them anything except what You commanded me to tell them. I told them that they must worship God who is everyone's Lord. I watched them as long as I was among them until You raised me to Yourself and You Yourself had also watched over them; You are Omnipresent. - Sarwar, Muhammad

I did not say to them aught save what Thou didst enjoin me with: That serve Allah, my Lord and your Lord, and I was a witness of them so long as I was among them, but when Thou didst cause me to die, Thou wert the watcher over them, and Thou art witness of all things. - Shakir, Habib

میں نے اُن سے اُس کے سوا کچھ نہیں کہا جس کا آپ نے حکم دیا تھا، یہ کہ اللہ کی بندگی کرو جو میرا رب بھی ہے اور تمہارا رب بھی میں اُسی وقت تک ان کا نگراں تھا جب تک کہ میں ان کے درمیان تھا جب آپ نے مجھے واپس بلا لیا تو آپ ان پر نگراں تھے اور آپ تو ساری ہی چیزوں پر نگراں ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

میں نے تو ان سے نہ کہا مگر وہی جو تو نے مجھے حکم دیا تھا کہ ا لله کو پوجو جو میرا بھی رب اور تمھا ر ا بھی رب اور میں ان پر مطلع تھا جب تک ان میں رہا، پھر جب تو نے مجھے اٹھالیا تو تُو ہی ان پر نگاہ رکھتا تھا، اور ہر چیز تیرے سامنے حاضر ہے - Ahmed Raza

میں نے ان سے کچھ نہیں کہا تھا سوائے اس بات کے جس کا تو نے مجھے حکم دیا تھا کہ عبادت کرو اللہ کی جو میرا بھی پروردگار ہے اور تمہارا بھی پروردگار ہے اور میں اس وقت تک ان پر گواہ تھا جب تک ان میں تھا پھر جب تو نے مجھے (دنیا سے) اٹھا لیا تو پھر تو ہی ان کا نگران تھا اور تو ہی ہر چیز پر گواہ ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

تُعَذِّبْهُمْ
You punish them,
فَإِنَّهُمْ
thus they are
عِبَادُكَ
Your slaves;
ۖ
وَإِن

تَغْفِرْ
You have forgiveness
لَهُمْ
for them,
فَإِنَّكَ
then indeed You
أَنتَ
are
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the Fortified
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the most Wise.]

١١٨
إِن تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ ۖ وَإِن تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ [If You punish them, thus they are Your slaves; and if You have forgiveness for them, then indeed You are the Fortified the most Wise.]

If Thou punish them, lo! they are Thy slaves, and if Thou forgive them (lo! they are Thy slaves). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, the Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اگر تو ان پر عذاب کرے گا تو وہ تیرے ہی بندے ہیں اور اگر معاف کردے گا تو صاحب عزت بھی ہے اور صاحب حکمت بھی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اب اگر آپ انہیں سزا دیں تو وہ آپ کے بندے ہیں اور اگر معاف کر دیں تو آپ غالب اور دانا ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اگر تو انہیں عذاب کرے تو وہ تیرے بندے ہیں، اور اگر تو انہیں بخش دے تو بیشک تو ہی ہے غالب حکمت والا - Ahmed Raza

قَالَ
Will say
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
هَٰذَا
[On this
يَوْمُ
day,
يَنفَعُ
will profit
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
the truthful
صِدْقُهُمْ
their truthfulness;
ۚ
لَهُمْ
for them
جَنَّٰتٌۭ
gardens,
تَجْرِى
flowing
مِن
from
تَحْتِهَا
under them
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
rivers,
خَٰلِدِينَ
eternalized
فِيهَآ
therein
أَبَدًۭا
endlessly;
ۚ
رَّضِىَ
pleased is
ٱللَّهُ
the One
عَنْهُمْ
with them,
وَرَضُوا۟
and they are please
عَنْهُ
with Him;
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
that is
ٱلْفَوْزُ
the victory that is
ٱلْعَظِيمُ
magnificent.]
٥
١١٩
قَالَ ٱللَّهُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنفَعُ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا ۚ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ Will say the One, [On this day, will profit the truthful their truthfulness; for them gardens, flowing from under them rivers, eternalized therein endlessly; pleased is the One with them, and they are please with Him; that is the victory that is magnificent.]

Allah saith: This is a day in which their truthfulness profiteth the truthful, for theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they are secure for ever, Allah taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great triumph. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Allah will say, [This day truthfulness shall benefit the truthful. For them there will be gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is the great success.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

God will say, [This is the Day when the truthful ones will benefit from their truthfulness. For them there are gardens wherein streams flow and they will live therein forever. God is pleased with them and they will be pleased with God in their supreme triumph. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Allah will say: This is the day when their truth shall benefit the truthful ones; they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide in them for ever: Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Allah; this is the mighty achievement. - Shakir, Habib

God will say, [This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness. They shall forever dwell in Gardens through which rivers flow. God is pleased with them and they with Him: that is the supreme triumph. - Wahiduddin Khan

اللہ نے کہا کہ یہ قیامت کا دن ہے جب صادقین کو ان کا سچ فائدہ پہنچائے گا کہ ان کے لئے باغات ہوں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور وہ ان میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے -خدا ان سے راضی ہوگا اور وہ خدا سے اور یہی ایک عظیم کامیابی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تب اللہ فرمائے گا ——یہ وہ دن ہے جس میں سچوں کو اُن کی سچائی نفع دیتی ہے، ان کے لیے ایسے باغ ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں، یہاں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے، اللہ ان سے راضی ہوا اور وہ اللہ سے، یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اللہ نے فرمایا کہ یہ ہے وہ دن جس میں سچوں کو ان کا سچ کام آئے گا، ان کے لئے باغ ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے، اللہ ان سے راضی اور وہ اللہ سے راضی، یہ ہے بڑی کامیابی، - Ahmed Raza

ارشادِ قدرت ہوگا یہ وہ دن ہے کہ جس میں سچوں کی سچائی ان کو فائدہ پہنچائے گی۔ ان کے لئے ایسے بہشت ہوں گے جن کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہوں گی وہ ان میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے۔ اللہ ان سے راضی اور وہ اللہ سے راضی (دونوں ایک دوسرے سے خوش) یہی سب سے بڑی کامیابی ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Belongs to the One
مُلْكُ
ownership of
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the atmospheres
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the land,
وَمَا
and what is
فِيهِنَّ
between them both;
ۚ
وَهُوَ
and He
عَلَىٰ
over
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍۢ
thing is
قَدِيرٌۢ
assigner of value.
Belongs to the One ownership of the atmospheres and the land, and what is between them both; and He over every thing is assigner of value.
