وَإِذْ
And when
قَالَ
will be said by
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
يَٰعِيسَى
[O Essa
ٱبْنَ
son of
مَرْيَمَ
Maryam!
ءَأَنتَ
Did you
قُلْتَ
say
لِلنَّاسِ
for the people
ٱتَّخِذُونِى
— [Take me
وَأُمِّىَ
and my mother
إِلَٰهَيْنِ
as gods
مِن
from
دُونِ
under
ٱللَّهِ
the One] — ?]
ۖ
قَالَ
Essa will say,
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
[Glory is Yours!
مَا
Not
يَكُونُ
it is
لِىٓ
for me
أَنْ
that
أَقُولَ
I say
مَا
what
لَيْسَ
not is
لِى
for me
بِحَقٍّ
with fact;
ۚ
إِن
if
كُنتُ
I had
قُلْتُهُۥ
said it
فَقَدْ
then surely
عَلِمْتَهُۥ
You would know;
ۚ
تَعْلَمُ
You know
مَا
what is
فِى
in
نَفْسِى
my self
وَلَآ
and not
أَعْلَمُ
I know
مَا
what is
فِى
in
نَفْسِكَ
Your Personage;
ۚ
إِنَّكَ
you certainly
أَنتَ
are
عَلَّٰمُ
knowledged of
ٱلْغُيُوبِ
all the invisibles.]

١١٦
وَإِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِى وَأُمِّىَ إِلَٰهَيْنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِحَقٍّ ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلْتُهُۥ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُۥ ۚ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِى وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِكَ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ And when will be said by the One, [O Essa son of Maryam! Did you say for the people — [Take me and my mother as gods from under the One] — ?] Essa will say, [Glory is Yours! Not it is for me that I say what not is for me with fact; if I had said it then surely You would know; You know what is in my self and not I know what is in Your Personage; you certainly are knowledged of all the invisibles.]

And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knewest it. Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy Mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower of Things Hidden? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when Allah will say, [O Jesus son of Mary! Was it you who said to the people, [[Take me and my mother for gods besides Allah]]?] He will say, [Immaculate are You! It does not behoove me to say what I have no right to [say]. Had I said it, You would certainly have known it: You know whatever is in my self, and I do not know what is in Your Self. Indeed, You are knower of all that is Unseen. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When God asked Jesus, son of Mary [Did you tell men to consider you and your mother as their gods besides God?] he replied, [Glory be to you! How could I say what I have no right to say? Had I ever said it, You would have certainly known about it. You know what is in my soul, but I do not know what is in Yours. It is You who has absolute knowledge of the unseen. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when Allah will say: O Isa son of Marium! did you say to men, Take me and my mother for two gods besides Allah he will say: Glory be to Thee, it did not befit me that I should say what I had no right to (say); if I had said it, Thou wouldst indeed have known it; Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in Thy mind, surely Thou art the great Knower of the unseen things. - Shakir, Habib

When God says, [Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to people, [Take me and my mother as two deities besides God]?] He will answer, [Glory be to You! How could I ever say that to which I have no right? If I had ever said so, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my mind, while I do not know anything that is within Yours. You alone are the knower of unseen things -- - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب اللہ نے کہا کہ اے عیسٰی بن مریم کیا تم نے لوگوں سے یہ کہہ دیا ہے کہ اللہ کو چھوڑ کو مجھے اور میری ماں کو خدا مان لو .... تو عیسٰی نے عرض کی کہ تیری ذات بے نیاز ہے میں ایسی بات کیسے کہوں گا جس کا مجھے کوئی حق نہیں ہے اور اگر میں نے کہا تھا تو تجھے تو معلوم ہی ہے کہ تو میرے دل کا حال جانتا ہے اور میں تیرے اسرار نہیں جانتا ہوں -تو ,تو غیب کا جاننے والا بھی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

غرض جب (یہ احسانات یاد دلا کر) اللہ فرمائے گا کہ ——اے عیسیٰ ابن مریم! کیا تو نے لوگوں سے کہا تھا کہ خدا کے سوا مجھے اور میری ماں کو بھی خدا بنا لو؟—— تو وہ جواب میں عرض کرے گا کہ ——سبحان اللہ! میرا یہ کام نہ تھا کہ وہ بات کہتا جس کے کہنے کا مجھے حق نہ تھا، اگر میں نے ایسی بات کہی ہوتی، تو آپ کو ضرور علم ہوتا، آپ جانتے ہیں جو کچھ میرے دل میں ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا جو کچھ آپ کے دل میں ہے، آپ تو ساری پوشیدہ حقیقتوں کے عالم ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب اللہ فرمائے گا اے مریم کے بیٹے عیسیٰ! کیا تو نے لوگوں سے کہہ دیا تھا کہ مجھے اور میری ماں کو دو خدا بنالو اللہ کے سوا عرض کرے گا، پاکی ہے تجھے مجھے روا نہیں کہ وہ بات کہوں جو مجھے نہیں پہنچتی اگر میں نے ایسا کہا ہو تو ضرور تجھے معلوم ہوگا تو جانتا ہے جو میرے جی میں ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا جو تیرے علم میں ہے، بیشک تو ہی ہے سب غیبوں کا خوب جاننے والا - Ahmed Raza

وہ وقت یاد کرو جب اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائے گا اے عیسیٰ بن مریم کیا تم نے لوگوں سے کہا تھا کہ اللہ کو چھوڑ کر مجھے اور میری ماں کو خدا بنا لو۔ عیسیٰ کہیں گے پاک ہے تیری ذات بھلا میں وہ بات کس طرح کہہ سکتا ہوں جس کا مجھے کوئی حق نہیں ہے اگر میں نے کوئی ایسی بات کہی ہوتی تو تجھے ضرور اس کا علم ہوتا۔ کیونکہ تو وہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے جو میرے دل میں ہے مگر میں تیرے اسرارِ نہانی کو نہیں جانتا۔ بلاشبہ تو غیب کی تمام باتوں کا بڑا جاننے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
