وَيَأْكُلُونَ

كَمَا

تَأْكُلُ

ٱلْأَنْعَٰمُ

وَٱلنَّارُ

لَّهُمْ

Lo! Allah will cause those who believe and do good works to enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; while those who disbelieve take their comfort in this life and eat even as the cattle eat, and the Fire is their habitation. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed Allah will admit those who have faith and do righteous deeds into gardens with streams running in them. As for the faithless, they enjoy and eat like the cattle do, and the Fire will be their [final] abode. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God will admit the righteously striving believers into the gardens wherein streams flow. However, the disbelievers who enjoyed themselves and ate like cattle will have for their dwelling hell fire. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely Allah will make those who believe and do good enter gardens beneath which rivers flow; and those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as the beasts eat, and the fire is their abode. - Shakir, Habib

God will admit those who believe and do good deeds to Gardens through which rivers flow. Those who deny the truth may take their fill of pleasure in this world, and eat as cattle do, but the Fire will be their ultimate abode. - Wahiduddin Khan

ایمان لانے والوں اور نیک عمل کرنے والوں کو اللہ اُن جنتوں میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں، اور کفر کرنے والے بس دنیا کی چند روزہ زندگی کے مزے لوٹ رہے ہیں، جانوروں کی طرح کھا پی رہے ہیں، اور اُن کا آخری ٹھکانا جہنم ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And how many a township stronger than thy township (O Muhammad) which hath cast thee out, have We destroyed, and they had no helper! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Is he who relieth on a clear proof from his Lord like those for whom the evil that they do is beautified while they follow their own lusts? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Is he who stands on a manifest proof from his Lord like those to whom the evil of their conduct is made to seem decorous and who follow their desires? - Qarai, Ali Quli

Can the one who follows the authority of his Lord be considered equal to the one whose evil deeds are made to seem attractive to him and who follows his own desires? - Sarwar, Muhammad

What! is he who has a clear argument from his Lord like him to whom the evil of his work is made fairseeming: and they follow their low desires. - Shakir, Habib

Can then he who takes his stand on clear evidence from his God be likened to those for whom the evil that they do is made to look beautiful, and who follow their own desires? - Wahiduddin Khan

تو کیا جس کے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے کھلی ہوئی دلیل موجود ہے وہ اس کے مثل ہوسکتاہے جس کے لئے اس کے بدترین اعمال سنوار دیئے گئے ہیں اور پھر ان لوگوں نے اپنی خواہشات کا اتباع کرلیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ فِيهَآ أَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيْرِ ءَاسِنٍۢ وَأَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّن لَّبَنٍۢ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُۥ وَأَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّنْ خَمْرٍۢ لَّذَّةٍۢ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ وَأَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّنْ عَسَلٍۢ مُّصَفًّۭى ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَٰلِدٌۭ فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَسُقُوا۟ مَآءً حَمِيمًۭا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَآءَهُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

A similitude of the Garden which those who keep their duty (to Allah) are promised: Therein are rivers of water unpolluted, and rivers of milk whereof the flavour changeth not, and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers, and rivers of clear-run honey; therein for them is every kind of fruit, with pardon from their Lord. (Are those who enjoy all this) like those who are immortal in the Fire and are given boiling water to drink so that it teareth their bowels? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

A description of the paradise promised to the Godwary: therein are streams of unstaling water and streams of milk unchanging in flavour, and streams of wine delicious to the drinkers, and streams of purified honey; there will be every kind of fruit in it for them, and forgiveness from their Lord. [Are such ones] like those who abide in the Fire and are given to drink boiling water which cuts up their bowels? - Qarai, Ali Quli

The garden, which is promised to the pious, is like one in which there are streams of unpolluted water, streams of milk of unchangeable taste, streams of delicious wine, and streams of crystal clear honey. Therein they will have all kinds of fruits and forgiveness from their Lord. On the other hand (can these people be considered like), those who will live forever in hell fire and will drink boiling water which will rip their intestines to bits? - Sarwar, Muhammad

A parable of the garden which those guarding (against evil) are promised: Therein are rivers of water that does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified and for them therein are all fruits and protection from their Lord. (Are these) like those who abide in the fire and who are made to drink boiling water so it rends their bowels asunder. - Shakir, Habib

Here is a description of the Garden promised to the righteous: therein are rivers of water which is forever pure; and rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; and rivers of wine, a delight to those who drink it, and rivers of pure honey. And in it they will have all kinds of fruit, and will receive forgiveness from their Lord. Can those who enjoy such bliss be like those who abide in the Fire and who are given boiling water to drink so that it tears their bowels? - Wahiduddin Khan

اس جنّت کی صفت جس کا صاحبانِ تقویٰ سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے یہ ہے کہ اس میں ایسے پانی کی نہریں ہیں جس میں کسی طرح کی بو نہیں ہے اور کچھ نہریں دودھ کی بھی ہیں جن کا مزہ بدلتا ہی نہیں ہے اور کچھ نہریں شراب کی بھی ہیں جن میں پینے والوں کے لئے لذّت ہے اور کچھ نہریں صاف و شفاف شہد کی ہیں اور ان کے لئے ہر طرح کے میوے بھی ہیں اور پروردگار کی طرف سے مغفرت بھی ہے تو کیا یہ متقی افراد ان کے جیسے ہوسکتے ہیں جو ہمیشہ جہّنم میں رہنے والے ہیں اور جنہیں گرما گرم پانی پلایا جائے گا جس سے آنتیں ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہوجائیں گی - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پرہیز گاروں کے لیے جس جنت کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے اس کی شان تو یہ ہے کہ اس میں نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی نتھرے ہوئے پانی کی، نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی ایسے دودھ کی جس کے مزے میں ذرا فرق نہ آیا ہو گا، نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی ایسی شراب کی جو پینے والوں کے لیے لذیذ ہوگی، نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی صاف شفاف شہد کی اُس میں اُن کے لیے ہر طرح کے پھل ہوں گے اور اُن کے رب کی طرف سے بخشش (کیا وہ شخص جس کے حصہ میں یہ جنت آنے والی ہے) اُن لوگوں کی طرح ہو سکتا ہے جو جہنم میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور جنہیں ایسا گرم پانی پلایا جائے گا جو ان کی آنتیں تک کاٹ دے گا؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

احوال اس جنت کا جس کا وعدہ پرہیزگاروں سے ہے، اس میں ایسی پانی کی نہریں ہیں جو کبھی نہ بگڑے اور ایسے دودھ کی نہریں ہیں جس کا مزہ نہ بدلا اور ایسی شراب کی نہریں ہیں جس کے پینے میں لذت ہے اور ایسی شہد کی نہریں ہیں جو صاف کیا گیا اور ان کے لیے اس میں ہر قسم کے پھل ہیں، اور اپنے رب کی مغفرت کیا ایسے چین والے ان کی برابر ہوجائیں گے جنہیں ہمیشہ آگ میں رہنا اور انہیں کھولتا پانی پلایا جائے گا کہ آنتوں کے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کردے، - Ahmed Raza

وہ جنت جس کا پرہیزگاروں سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے اس کی صفت یہ ہے کہ اس میں ایسے پانی کی نہریں ہیں جس میں تغیر نہیں ہوتا اور ایسے دودھ کی نہریں ہیں جس کا مزہ نہیں بدلتا اور ایسے شراب کی نہریں ہیں جو پینے والوں کے لئے لذیذ ہے اور ایسے شہد کی نہریں ہیں جو صاف شفاف ہے اور ان کیلئے وہاں ہر قسم کے پھل ہیں اور ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے بخشش ہے کیا ایسے (پرہیزگار) لوگ ان لوگوں جیسے ہو سکتے ہیں جو ہمیشہ دوزخ میں رہیں گے اور ان کو ایسا گرم پانی پلایا جائے گا جو ان کی آنتوں کو ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دے گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Among them are some who give ear unto thee (Muhammad) till, when they go forth from thy presence they say unto those who have been given knowledge: What was that he said just now? Those are they whose hearts Allah hath sealed, and they follow their own lusts. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

There are some among them who prick up their ears at you. But when they go out from your presence, they say to those who have been given knowledge, [What did he say just now?] They are the ones on whose hearts Allah has set a seal, and they follow their own desires. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور ان میں سے کچھ افراد ایسے بھی ہیں جو آپ کی باتیں بظاہر غور سے سنتے ہیں اس کے بعد جب آپ کے پاس سے باہر نکلتے ہیں تو جن لوگوں کو علم دیا گیا ہے ان سے کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے ابھی کیا کہا تھا یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں پر خدا نے مہر لگادی ہے اور انہوں نے اپنی خواہشات کا اتباع کرلیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن میں سے کچھ لوگ ایسے ہیں جو کان لگا کر تمہاری بات سنتے ہیں اور پھر جب تمہارے پاس سے نکلتے ہیں تو اُن لوگوں سے جنہیں علم کی نعمت بخشی گئی ہے پوچھتے ہیں کہ ابھی ابھی اِنہوں نے کیا کہا تھا؟ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں پر اللہ نے ٹھپہ لگا دیا ہے اور یہ اپنی خواہشات کے پیرو بنے ہوئے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ان میں سے بعض تمہارے ارشاد سنتے ہیں یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے پاس سے نکل کر جائیں علم والوں سے کہتے ہیں ابھی انہوں نے کیا فرمایا یہ ہیں وہ جن کے دلوں پر اللہ نے مہر کردی اور اپنی خواہشوں کے تابع ہوئے - Ahmed Raza

While as for those who walk aright, He addeth to their guidance, and giveth them their protection (against evil). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَىٰكُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So know (O Muhammad) that there is no Allah save Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy sin and for believing men and believing women. Allah knoweth (both) your place of turmoil and your place of rest. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Know that there is no god except Allah, and plead [to Allah] for forgiveness of your sin and for the faithful, men and women. Allah knows your itinerary and your [final] abode. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And those who believe say: If only a surah were revealed! But when a decisive surah is revealed and war is mentioned therein, thou seest those in whose hearts is a disease looking at thee with the look of men fainting unto death. Therefor woe unto them! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The faithful say, [If only a surah were sent down!] But when a conclusive surah is sent down and war is mentioned in it, you see those in whose hearts is a sickness looking upon you with the look of someone fainting at death. So woe to them! - Qarai, Ali Quli

The believers say, [Why is a chapter about jihad - fighting for the cause of God - not revealed?] But when such a chapter, with clear commands and a mention of jihad is revealed, you will see those whose hearts are sick look at you as if suffering the agony of death. One can expect nothing better from them! - Sarwar, Muhammad

And those who believe say: Why has not a chapter been revealed? But when a decisive chapter is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein you see those in whose hearts is a disease look to you with the look of one fainting because of death. Woe to them then! - Shakir, Habib

Those who believe ask why no chapter [about fighting] has been sent down. Yet when a decisive chapter that mentions fighting is sent down, you can see the sick of heart looking at you [Prophet] as if they were under the shadow of death. Therefore, woe to them! - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے ہیں وہ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ آخر جہاد کے بارے میں سورہ کیوں نہیں نازل ہوتا اور جب سورہ نازل ہوگیا اور اس میں جہاد کا ذکر کردیا گیا تو آپ نے دیکھا کہ جن کے دلوں میں مرض تھا وہ آپ کی طرف اس طرح دیکھتے رہ گئے جیسے موت کی سی غشی طاری ہوگئی ہو تو ان کے واسطے ویل اور افسوس ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جو لوگ ایمان لائے ہیں وہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ کوئی سورت کیوں نہیں نازل کی جاتی (جس میں جنگ کا حکم دیا جائے) مگر جب ایک محکم سورت نازل کر دی گئی جس میں جنگ کا ذکر تھا تو تم نے دیکھا کہ جن کے دلوں میں بیماری تھی وہ تمہاری طرف اس طرح دیکھ رہے ہیں جیسے کسی پر موت چھا گئی ہو افسوس اُن کے حال پر - Maududi, Abul A'ala

أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَآ أَسْخَطَ ٱللَّهَ وَكَرِهُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
That will be because they followed that which angereth Allah, and hated that which pleaseth Him. Therefor He hath made their actions vain. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That, because they pursued what displeased Allah, and loathed His pleasure. So He has made their works fail. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
for their following that which had incurred God's anger, and their hatred to please God. Thus, God has made their deeds devoid of all virtue. - Sarwar, Muhammad

That is because they follow what is displeasing to Allah and are averse to His pleasure, therefore He has made null their deeds. - Shakir, Habib

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَأَرَيْنَٰكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُم بِسِيمَٰهُمْ ۚ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِى لَحْنِ ٱلْقَوْلِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَٰلَكُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And if We would, We could show them unto thee (Muhammad) so that thou shouldst know them surely by their marks. And thou shalt know them by the burden of their talk. And Allah knoweth your deeds. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If We wish, We will show them to you so that you recognize them by their mark. Yet you will recognize them by their tone of speech, and Allah knows your deeds. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Had We wanted, We could have made you recognize their faces. You will certainly recognize them by the tone of their speech. God knows all your deeds. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if We please We would have made you know them so that you would certainly have recognized them by their marks and most certainly you can recognize them by the intent of (their) speech; and Allah knows your deeds. - Shakir, Habib

Now had We so willed, We could have shown them clearly to you, and then you could have identified them by their marks, but surely you will know them by the tone of their speech! God knows all that you do. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو تمہیں ان کو دکھادیں کہ تم ان کی صورت سے پہچان لو اور ضرور تم انہیں بات کے اسلوب میں پہچان لو گے اور اللہ تمہارے عمل جانتا ہے - Ahmed Raza

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُجَٰهِدِينَ مِنكُمْ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَنَبْلُوَا۟ أَخْبَارَكُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
And verily We shall try you till We know those of you who strive hard (for the cause of Allah) and the steadfast, and till We test your record. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We will surely test you until We ascertain those of you who wage jihad and those who are steadfast, and We shall appraise your record. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
We shall certainly test you until We know those who strive hard for the cause of God and those who exercise patience. We will also examine your deeds. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And most certainly We will try you until We have known those among you who exert themselves hard, and the patient, and made your case manifest. - Shakir, Habib

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Lo! those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and oppose the messenger after the guidance hath been manifested unto them, they hurt Allah not a jot, and He will make their actions fruitless. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who are faithless and bar from the way of Allah and defy the Apostle after guidance has become clear to them, they will not hurt Allah in the least, and He shall make their works fail. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The disbelievers who prevent others from the way of God and give the Messengers a hard time - even after the guidance has been made clear to them - will never be able to cause any harm to God, and He will turn their deeds devoid of all virtue. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah's way and oppose the Apostle after that guidance has become clear to them cannot harm Allah in any way, and He will make null their deeds. - Shakir, Habib

Surely, they who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God, and oppose the Messenger when they have been shown guidance, cannot harm God in any way. He will cause all their deeds to come to nothing. - Wahiduddin Khan

بیشک جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کرلیا اور لوگوں کو خدا کی راہ سے روکا اور ہدایت کے واضح ہوجانے کے بعد بھی پیغمبر سے جھگڑا کیا وہ اللہ کو کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچاسکتے ہیں اور اللہ عنقریب ان کے اعمال کو بالکل برباد کردے گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکا اور رسول سے جھگڑا کیا جبکہ ان پر راہ راست واضح ہو چکی تھی، در حقیقت وہ اللہ کا کوئی نقصان بھی نہیں کر سکتے، بلکہ اللہ ہی ان کا سب کیا کرایا غارت کر دے گا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بیشک وہ جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکا اور رسول کی مخالفت کی بعد اس کے کہ ہدایت ان پر ظاہر ہوچکی تھی وہ ہرگز اللہ کو کچھ نقصان نہ پہچائیں گے، اور بہت جلد اللہ ان کا کیا دھرا اَکارت کردے گا - Ahmed Raza
