ٱلَّذِى
The Entity
جَعَلَ
who placed
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the Land
مَهْدًۭا
as spread even,
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُمْ
for you
فِيهَا
in it
سُبُلًۭا
tracts,
لَّعَلَّكُمْ
that perhaps you
تَهْتَدُونَ
may be guided.
٤٣
١٠
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ The Entity who placed for you the Land as spread even, and made for you in it tracts, that perhaps you may be guided.

Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He, who made the earth a cradle for you, and made for you in it ways so that you may be guided [to your destinations], - Qarai, Ali Quli

وَٱلَّذِى
And the Entity who
نَزَّلَ
alighted
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مَآءًۢ
basic essence
بِقَدَرٍۢ
with an assigned value,
فَأَنشَرْنَا
thus We sowed
بِهِۦ
through it
بَلْدَةًۭ
habitation
مَّيْتًۭا
that was already dead;
ۚ
كَذَٰلِكَ
that is how
تُخْرَجُونَ
you come out (as well).
٤٣
١١
وَٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍۢ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ And the Entity who alighted from the sky basic essence with an assigned value, thus We sowed through it habitation that was already dead; that is how you come out (as well).

And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

and who sent down water from the sky in a measured manner, and We revived with it a dead country. Likewise, you shall be raised [from the dead]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

It is He who has sent down water from the sky in a known measure by which He has given life to the dead earth. In the same way will you also be resurrected. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; - Shakir, Habib

اور جس نے آسمان سے ایک معین مقدار میں پانی نازل کیا اورپھر ہم نے اس کے ذریعہ اَمردہ زمینوں کو زندہ بنادیا اسی طرح تم بھی زمین سے نکالے جاؤ گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جس نے ایک خاص مقدار میں آسمان سے پانی اتارا اور اس کے ذریعہ سے مردہ زمین کو جلا اٹھایا، اِسی طرح ایک روز تم زمین سے برآمد کیے جاؤ گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور وہ جس نے آسمان سے پانی اتارا ایک اندازے سے تو ہم نے اس سے ایک مردہ شہر زندہ فرمادیا، یونہی تم نکالے جاؤ گے - Ahmed Raza

ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ

وَجَعَلَ

ٱلْفُلْكِ
the things that float,
وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ
and the grazing cattle
مَا
that which
تَرْكَبُونَ
you ride upon.
٤٣
١٢
وَٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْفُلْكِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ And the Entity who created the companions of all of them, and made for you of the things that float, and the grazing cattle that which you ride upon.

He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟
For you to become balanced
عَلَىٰ
on
ظُهُورِهِۦ
its back,
ثُمَّ
then
تَذْكُرُوا۟
be in remembrance of
نِعْمَةَ
gift of
رَبِّكُمْ
your Nourisher
إِذَا
when
ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ
you ride
عَلَيْهِ
upon it,
وَتَقُولُوا۟
and say,
سُبْحَٰنَ
[Glory is of
ٱلَّذِى
the Entity who
سَخَّرَ
subjugated
لَنَا
for us
هَٰذَا
this,
وَمَا
and not
كُنَّا
we were
لَهُۥ
over it
مُقْرِنِينَ
of having a connection.]
٤٣
١٣
لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَ For you to become balanced on its back, then be in remembrance of gift of your Nourisher when you ride upon it, and say, [Glory is of the Entity who subjugated for us this, and not we were over it of having a connection.]

That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); - Pickthall, Marmaduke

that you may sit on their backs, then remember the blessing of your Lord when you are settled on them, and say, [Immaculate is He who has disposed this for us, and we [by ourselves] were no match for it. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, [Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. - Sarwar, Muhammad

That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it - Shakir, Habib

so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, [Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. - Wahiduddin Khan

تاکہ ان کی پشت پرسکون سے بیٹھ سکو اورپھر جب سکون سے بیٹھ جاؤ تو اپنے پروردگار کی نعمت کو یاد کرو اور کہو کہ پاک و بے نیاز ہے وہ خدا جس نے اس سواری کو ہمارے لئے م اَسخرّ کردیا ہے ورنہ ہم اس کوقابو میں لاسکنے والے نہیں تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور جب اُن پر بیٹھو تو اپنے رب کا احسان یاد کرو اور کہو کہ ——پاک ہے وہ جس نے ہمارے لیے اِن چیزوں کو مسخر کر دیا ورنہ ہم انہیں قابو میں لانے کی طاقت نہ رکھتے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

کہ تم ان کی پیٹھوں پر ٹھیک بیٹھو پھر اپنے رب کی نعمت یاد کرو جب اس پر ٹھیک بیٹھ لو اور یوں کہو پاکی ہے اسے جس نے اس سواری کو ہمارے بس میں کردیا اور یہ ہمارے بوتے (قابو) کی نہ تھی، - Ahmed Raza

And they allot to Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They ascribe to Him offspring from among His servants! Man is indeed a manifest ingrate. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. - Shakir, Habib

And if one of them hath tidings of that which he likeneth to the Beneficent One, his countenance becometh black and he is full of inward rage. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When one of them is brought the news of what he ascribes to the All-beneficent, his face becomes darkened and he chokes with suppressed rage, [and says] - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو اسی لڑکی کی بشارت دی جاتی ہے جو مثال انہوں نے رحمان کے لئے بیان کی ہے تو اس کا چہرہ سیاہ ہوجاتا ہے اور غصہّ کے گھونٹ پینے لگتاہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور حال یہ ہے کہ جس اولاد کو یہ لوگ اُس خدائے رحمان کی طرف منسوب کرتے ہیں اُس کی ولادت کا مژدہ جب خود اِن میں سے کسی کو دیا جاتا ہے تو اُس کے منہ پر سیاہی چھا جاتی ہے اور وہ غم سے بھر جاتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَجَعَلُوا۟
And they determine
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
the malaikati,
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
هُمْ

عِبَٰدُ
slaves of
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ
the Nourisher,
إِنَٰثًا
as feminine.
ۚ
أَشَهِدُوا۟
Did they witness
خَلْقَهُمْ
their creation?
ۚ
سَتُكْتَبُ
Shall be written,
شَهَٰدَتُهُمْ
their witnessing,
وَيُسْـَٔلُونَ
and (about it) they will be questioned.
٤٣
١٩
وَجَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَٰدُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ إِنَٰثًا ۚ أَشَهِدُوا۟ خَلْقَهُمْ ۚ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَٰدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَٔلُونَ And they determine the malaikati, the ones who are slaves of the Nourisher, as feminine. Did they witness their creation? Shall be written, their witnessing, and (about it) they will be questioned.

And they make the angels, who are the slaves of the Beneficent, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded and they will be questioned. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَقَالُوا۟
And they say,
لَوْ
[If it was that
شَآءَ
willed
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
the Rahman,
مَا
not
عَبَدْنَٰهُم
we would serve them.]
ۗ
مَّا
Not
لَهُم
for them
بِذَٰلِكَ
regarding that is
مِنْ
of
عِلْمٍ
knowledge;
ۖ
إِنْ
indeed they
هُمْ
are
إِلَّا
not except
يَخْرُصُونَ
forming conjectures.
٤٣
٢٠
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَٰهُم ۗ مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ And they say, [If it was that willed the Rahman, not we would serve them.] Not for them regarding that is of knowledge; indeed they are not except forming conjectures.

And they say: If the Beneficent One had (so) willed, we should not have worshipped them. They have no knowledge whatsoever of that. They do but guess. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They say, [Had the All-beneficent wished, we would not have worshipped them.] They do not have any knowledge of that, and they do nothing but surmise. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
The pagans say, [Had the Beneficent God wanted, we would not have worshipped them (idols).] Whatever they say is not based on knowledge. It is only a false conjecture. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they say: If the Beneficent Allah had pleased, we should never have worshipped them. They have no knowledge of this; they only lie. - Shakir, Habib

اوریہ کہتے ہیں کہ خدا چاہتا توہم ان کی پرستش نہ کرتے انہیں اس بات کا کوئی علم نہیں ہے - یہ صرف اندازوں سے بات کرتے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ کہتے ہیں ——اگر خدائے رحمٰن چاہتا (کہ ہم اُن کی عبادت نہ کریں) تو ہم کبھی اُن کو نہ پوجتے—— یہ اس معاملے کی حقیقت کو قطعی نہیں جانتے، محض تیر تکے لڑاتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بولے اگر رحمٰن چاہتا ہم انہیں نہ پوجتے انہیں اس کی حقیقت کچھ معلوم نہیں یونہی اٹکلیں دوڑاتے ہیں - Ahmed Raza
