One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze returneth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul; and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The one who had knowledge of the Book said, [I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye.] So when he saw it set near him, he said, [This is by the grace of my Lord, to test me if I will give thanks or be ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful [should know that] my Lord is indeed all-sufficient, all-generous.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The one who had knowledge from the Book said, [I can bring it to you before you even blink your eye.] When Solomon saw the throne placed before him, he said, [This is a favor from my Lord by which He wants to test whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Whoever thanks God does so for his own good. Whoever is ungrateful to God should know that my Lord is Self-Sufficient and Benevolent.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور ایک شخص نے جس کے پاس کتاب کا ایک حصہّ علم تھا اس نے کہا کہ میں اتنی جلدی لے آؤں گا کہ آپ کی پلک بھی نہ جھپکنے پائے اس کے بعد سلیمان نے تخت کو اپنے سامنے حاضر دیکھا تو کہنے لگے یہ میرے پروردگار کا فضل و کرم ہے وہ میرا امتحان لینا چاہتا ہے کہ میں شکریہ ادا کرتا ہوں یا کفرانِ نعمت کرتا ہوں اور جو شکریہ ادا کرے گا وہ اپنے ہی فائدہ کے لئے کرے گا اور جو کفران هنعمت کرے گا اس کی طرف سے میرا پروردگار بے نیاز اور کریم ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جس شخص کے پاس کتاب کا علم تھا وہ بولا ——میں آپ کی پلک جھپکنے سے پہلے اسے لائے دیتا ہوں—— جونہی کہ سلیمانؑ نے وہ تخت اپنے پاس رکھا ہوا دیکھا، وہ پکار اٹھا ——یہ میرے رب کا فضل ہے تاکہ وہ مجھے آزمائے کہ میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا کافر نعمت بن جاتا ہوں اور جو کوئی شکر کرتا ہے اس کا شکر اس کے اپنے ہی لیے مفید ہے، ورنہ کوئی ناشکری کرے تو میرا رب بے نیاز اور اپنی ذات میں آپ بزرگ ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اس نے عرض کی جس کے پاس کتاب کا علم تھا کہ میں اسے حضور میں حاضر کردوں گا ایک پل مارنے سے پہلے پھر جب سلیمان نے تخت کو اپنے پاس رکھا دیکھا کہ یہ میرے رب کے فضل سے ہے، تاکہ مجھے آزمائے کہ میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا ناشکری، اور جو شکر کرے وہ اپنے بھلے کو شکر کرتا ہے اور جو ناشکری کرے تو میرا رب بے پرواہ ہے سب خوبیوں والا، - Ahmed Raza
