Perform the pilgrimage and the visit (to Makka) for Allah. And if ye are prevented, then send such gifts as can be obtained with ease, and shave not your heads until the gifts have reached their destination. And whoever among you is sick or hath an ailment of the head must pay a ransom of fasting or almsgiving or offering. And if ye are in safety, then whosoever contenteth himself with the visit for the pilgrimage (shall give) such gifts as can be had with ease. And whosoever cannot find (such gifts), then a fast of three days while on the pilgrimage, and of seven when ye have returned; that is, ten in all. That is for him whoso folk are not present at the Inviolable Place of Worship. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Complete the hajj and the [umrah for Allah]s sake, and if you are prevented, then [make] such [sacrificial] offering as is feasible. And do not shave your heads until the offering reaches its [assigned] place. But should any of you be sick, or have a hurt in his head, let the atonement be by fasting, or charity, or sacrifice. And when you have security—for those who enjoy [release from the restrictions] by virtue of their [umrah until the hajj—let the offering be such as is feasible. As for someone who cannot afford [the offering], let him fast three days during the hajj and seven when you return; that is [a period of] ten complete [days]. That is for someone whose family does not dwell by the Holy Mosque. And be wary of Allah, and know that Allah is severe in retribution. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Complete the hajj and umrah (two parts of the rituals of pilgrimage to Makka) in obedience to God. If you are prevented from completing the duty of hajj, offer whatever sacrifice is possible and do not shave your heads before the sacrificial animal is delivered to the prescribed place. If one of you is ill or is suffering because of some ailment in your head, you must redeem the shaving of the head by fasting, or paying money, or offering a sheep as a sacrifice. When all is well with you and you want to complete the umrah in the hajj season, offer whatever sacrifice is possible. If you do not find an animal, you have to fast for three days during the days of the pilgrimage rituals and seven days at home to complete the required ten fasting days. This rule is for those who live beyond (a distance of twelve miles from) the Sacred Mosque in Mecca. Have fear of God and know that He is stern in His retribution. - Sarwar, Muhammad

In times of peace, if any of you combines the minor pilgrimage with the Hajj, he should make whatever offering he can afford, but if he lacks the means, then let him fast three days during the pilgrimage and for seven days after his return; that is, ten days in all. حج اور عمرہ کو اللہ کے لئے تمام کرو اب اگر گرفتار ہوجاؤ توجو قربانی ممکن ہو وہ دے دو اور اس وقت تک سر نہ منڈواؤ جب تک قربانی اپنی منزل تک نہ پہنچ جائے. اب جو تم میں سے مریض ہے یا اس کے سر میں کوئی تکلیف ہے تو وہ روزہ یاصدقہ یا قربانی دے دے پھر جب اطمینان ہوجائے تو جس نے عمرہ سے حج تمتع کا ارادہ کیا ہے وہ ممکنہ قربانی دے دے اور قربانی نہ مل سکے تو تین روزے حج کے دوران اور سات واپس آنے کے بعد رکھے کہ اس طرح دس پورے ہوجائیں. یہ حج تمتع اور قربانی ان لوگوں کے لئے ہے جن کے اہلِ مسجدالحرام کے حاضر شمار نہیں ہوتے اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو اوریہ یاد رکھو کہ خدا کا عذاب بہت سخت ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اللہ کی خوشنودی کے لیے جب حج اور عمرے کی نیت کرو، تو اُسے پورا کرو اور اگر کہیں گھر جاؤ تو جو قربانی میسر آئے، اللہ کی جناب میں پیش کرو اور اپنے سر نہ مونڈو جب تک کہ قربانی اپنی جگہ نہ پہنچ جائے مگر جو شخص مریض ہو یا جس کے سر میں کوئی تکلیف ہو اور اس بنا پر اپنا سر منڈوا لے، تو اُسے چاہیے کہ فدیے کے طور پر روزے رکھے یا صدقہ دے یا قربانی کرے پھر اگر تمہیں امن نصیب ہو جائے (اور تم حج سے پہلے مکے پہنچ جاؤ)، تو جو شخص تم میں سے حج کا زمانہ آنے تک عمرے کا فائدہ اٹھائے، وہ حسب مقدور قربانی دے، اور ا گر قربانی میسر نہ ہو، تو تین روزے حج کے زمانے میں اور سات گھر پہنچ کر، اِس طرح پورے دس روزے رکھ لے یہ رعایت اُن لوگوں کے لیے ہے، جن کے گھر بار مسجد حرام کے قریب نہ ہوں اللہ کے اِن احکام کی خلاف ورزی سے بچو اور خوب جان لو کہ اللہ سخت سزا دینے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور خدا کی (خوشنودی) کے واسطے حج و عمرہ کو تمام کرو۔ اور اگر کسی مجبوری میں گھر جاؤ تو پھر جو قربانی میسر ہو وہی کرو مگر اپنے سر اس وقت تک نہ منڈواؤ جب تک قربانی اپنے ٹھکانہ تک نہ پہنچ جائے (جہاں اسے ذبح یا نحر کرنا ہے) اور جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص بیمار ہو یا اس کے سر میں کوئی تکلیف ہو اور سر منڈوالے تو اس کا فدیہ (بدلہ) روزہ، خیرات یا قربانی ہے۔ پھر جب تمہیں امن و اطمینان حاصل ہو جائے تو جو شخص (حج تمتع کا) عمرہ کرکے حج کے موقع تک لذائذ سے فائدہ اٹھائے۔ تو وہ لازمی طور پر ممکنہ قربانی کرے۔ اور جسے قربانی نہ مل سکے تو وہ تین روزے تو حج کے دوران رکھے اور سات اس وقت جب واپس جائے۔ یہ ہو جائیں گے مکمل دس (روزے) یہ (حج تمتع) اس کے لئے ہے جس کے اہل و عیال مسجد الحرام کے باشندہ نہ ہوں۔ (حدود حرم کے اندر نہ رہتے ہوں) اور اللہ (کی نافرمانی) سے ڈرو اور سمجھ لو کہ خدا سخت سزا دینے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

The pilgrimage is (in) the well-known months, and whoever is minded to perform the pilgrimage therein (let him remember that) there is (to be) no lewdness nor abuse nor angry conversation on the pilgrimage. And whatsoever good ye do Allah knoweth it. So make provision for yourselves (Hereafter); for the best provision is to ward off evil. Therefore keep your duty unto Me, O men of understanding. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The hajj [season] is in months well-known; so whoever decides on hajj [pilgrimage] therein, [should know that] there is to be no sexual contact, vicious talk, or disputing during the hajj. And whatever good you do, Allah knows it. And take provision, for indeed the best provision is Godwariness. So be wary of Me, O you who possess intellects! - Qarai, Ali Quli

The months of the hajj (pilgrimage) season are well known. Whoever undertakes to complete the hajj rituals, must know that, after commencing the acts of Hajj, he is not allowed to have carnal relations or to lie or to swear by the Name of God. God knows all your good deeds. Supply yourselves for the journey. The best supply is piety. People of understanding have fear of Me. - Sarwar, Muhammad

The pilgrimage is (performed in) the well-known months; so whoever determines the performance of the pilgrimage therein, there shall be no intercourse nor fornication nor quarrelling amongst one another; and whatever good you do, Allah knows it; and make provision, for surely the provision is the guarding of oneself, and be careful (of your duty) to Me, O men of understanding. - Shakir, Habib

The pilgrimage is in the appointed months. Whoever intends to perform it during them must abstain from indecent speech, from all wicked conduct, and from quarrelling while on the pilgrimage. Whatever good you may do, God is aware of it. Make provision for yourselves -- but surely, the best of all provision is God-consciousness. حج کے مہینے سب کو معلوم ہیں جو شخص ان مقرر مہینوں میں حج کی نیت کرے، اُسے خبردار رہنا چاہیے کہ حج کے دوران اس سے کوئی شہوانی فعل، کوئی بد عملی، کوئی لڑائی جھگڑے کی بات سرزد نہ ہو اور جو نیک کام تم کرو گے، وہ اللہ کے علم میں ہوگا سفر حج کے لیے زاد راہ ساتھ لے جاؤ، اور سب سے بہتر زاد راہ پرہیزگاری ہے پس اے ہوش مندو! میر ی نا فرمانی سے پرہیز کرو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

حج کے چند خاص جانے پہچانے مقررہ مہینے ہیں۔ تو جو شخص ان (مہینوں) میں (اپنے اوپر) حج کی پابندی احرام باندھ کر فرض کر لے تو پھر حج کے دوران نہ (بیوی سے) مباشرت کرے۔ نہ (خدا کی) نافرمانی کرے اور نہ (کسی سے) لڑائی جھگڑا کرے اور تم جو کچھ نیکی کا کام کروگے تو خدا اسے جانتا ہے اور (آخرت کے سفر کے لئے) زادِ راہ مہیا کرو (اور سمجھ لو) کہ بہترین زادِ راہ تقویٰ (پرہیزگاری) ہے۔ اور اے عقل مندو! مجھ سے (میری نافرمانی سے) ڈرو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

It is no sin for you that ye seek the bounty of your Lord (by trading). But, when ye press on in the multitude from 'Arafat, remember Allah by the sacred monument. Remember Him as He hath guided you, although before ye were of those astray. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
