يَٰبَنِىٓ
O bani
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Israel!
ٱذْكُرُوا۟
Continuously remember
نِعْمَتِىَ
My blessings
ٱلَّتِىٓ
those which
أَنْعَمْتُ
have been blessed
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you,
وَأَنِّى
and (remember) that I
فَضَّلْتُكُمْ
have favoured you
عَلَى
over
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
all the states of being.
٢
١٢٢
يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتِىَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّى فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ O bani Israel! Continuously remember My blessings those which have been blessed upon you, and (remember) that I have favoured you over all the states of being.

O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O Children of Israel, remember My blessing which I bestowed upon you, and that I gave you an advantage over all the nations. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اے بنی اسرائیل ان نعمتوں کو یاد کرو جو ہم نے تمہیں عنایت کی ہیں اور جن کے طفیل تمہیں سارے عالم سے بہتر بنا دیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے بنی اسرائیل! یاد کرو میری وہ نعمت، جس سے میں نے تمہیں نواز ا تھا، اور یہ کہ میں نے تمہیں دنیا کی تمام قوموں پر فضیلت دی تھی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَٱتَّقُوا۟
And be aware of
يَوْمًۭا
a day, when
لَّا
not
تَجْزِى
will avail
نَفْسٌ
a person
عَن
from
نَّفْسٍۢ
another person
شَيْـًۭٔا
anything,
وَلَا
and not
يُقْبَلُ
will be accepted
مِنْهَا
from them
عَدْلٌۭ
a compensation,
وَلَا
and not
تَنفَعُهَا
will benefit them
شَفَٰعَةٌۭ
any intercession,
وَلَا
and not
هُمْ
they
يُنصَرُونَ
are victorious.
٢
١٢٣
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًۭا لَّا تَجْزِى نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌۭ وَلَا تَنفَعُهَا شَفَٰعَةٌۭ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ And be aware of a day, when not will avail a person from another person anything, and not will be accepted from them a compensation, and not will benefit them any intercession, and not they are victorious.

And guard (yourselves) against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will compensation be accepted from it, nor will intercession be of use to it; nor will they be helped. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Beware of the Day when no soul will compensate for another, neither will any ransom be accepted from it, nor will any intercession benefit it, nor will they be helped. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Have fear of the day when every soul will be responsible for itself, no ransom will be accepted for it, no intercession will be of any benefit to it and no one will receive any help. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And be on your guard against a day when no soul shall avail another in the least neither shall any compensation be accepted from it, nor shall intercession profit it, nor shall they be helped. - Shakir, Habib

and fear a Day when no human being shall avail another. Nor shall ransom be accepted from any of them, nor shall intercession be of any use to them, and none shall be succoured. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اس دن سے ڈرو جس دن کوئی کسی کا فدیہ نہ ہوسکے گا اور نہ کوئی معاوضہ کام آئے گا نہ کوئی سفارش ہوگی اور نہ کوئی مدد کی جاسکے گی - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور ڈرو اُس دن سے، جب کوئی کسی کے ذرا کام نہ آئے گا، نہ کسی سے فدیہ قبول کیا جائے گا، نہ کوئی سفارش ہی آدمی کو فائدہ دے گی، اور نہ مجرموں کو کہیں سے کوئی مدد پہنچ سکے گی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ڈرو اس دن سے کہ کوئی جان دوسرے کا بدلہ نہ ہوگی اور نہ اس کو کچھ لے کر چھوڑیں اور نہ کافر کو کوئی سفارش نفع دے اور نہ ان کی مدد ہو - - Ahmed Raza

اور (قیامت کے) اس دن سے ڈرو۔ جب کوئی کسی کو کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچا سکے گا اور نہ کسی سے فدیہ قبول کیا جائے گا۔ اور نہ ہی سفارش کسی کو کچھ فائدہ پہنچا سکے گی اور نہ ہی (کسی اور طریقہ سے) ان کی امداد کی جائے گی۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَإِذِ
And (remember) when
ٱبْتَلَىٰٓ
was tested
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim
رَبُّهُۥ
(by) his Rabb
بِكَلِمَٰتٍۢ
with his opinions
فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ
then he completed them.
ۖ
قَالَ
(The One) said,
إِنِّى
[I am
جَاعِلُكَ
making you
لِلنَّاسِ
for the people
إِمَامًۭا
a levelling standard.]
ۖ
قَالَ
(Ibrahim) asked,
وَمِن
[And from
ذُرِّيَّتِى
my lineage?]
ۖ
قَالَ
(The One) said,
لَا
[Not
يَنَالُ
is offered
عَهْدِى
My promise
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
to the ones in darkness.]
٢
١٢٤
وَإِذِ ٱبْتَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ رَبُّهُۥ بِكَلِمَٰتٍۢ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّى جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًۭا ۖ قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۖ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ And (remember) when was tested Ibrahim (by) his Rabb with his opinions then he completed them. (The One) said, [I am making you for the people a levelling standard.] (Ibrahim) asked, [And from my lineage?] (The One) said, [Not is offered My promise to the ones in darkness.]

And (remember) when his Lord tried Abraham with (His) commands, and he fulfilled them, He said: Lo! I have appointed thee a leader for mankind. (Abraham) said: And of my offspring (will there be leaders)? He said: My covenant includeth not wrong-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When his Lord tested Abraham with certain words and he fulfilled them, He said, [I am making you the Imam of mankind.] Said he, [And from among my descendants?] He said, [My pledge does not extend to the unjust.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When his Lord tested Abraham's faith, (by His words) and he satisfied the test, He said, [I am appointing you as the leader of mankind.] Abraham asked, [Will this leadership also continue through my descendants?] The Lord replied, [The unjust do not have the right to exercise My authority.] - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And when his Lord tried Ibrahim with certain words, he fulfilled them. He said: Surely I will make you an Imam of men. Ibrahim said: And of my offspring? My covenant does not include the unjust, said He. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
When his Lord tested Abraham with certain commands and he fulfilled them, He said, [I will make you a leader of men.] Abraham asked, [And what of my descendants?] He answered, [My covenant does not extend to the transgressors.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب خدانے چند کلمات کے ذریعے ابراہیم علیھ السّلام کا امتحان لیا اور انہوں نے پورا کردیا تو اس نے کہا کہ ہم تم کو لوگوں کا امام اور قائد بنا رہے ہیں. انہوں نے عرض کی کہ میری ذریت? ارشاد ہوا کہ یہ عہدئہ امامت ظالمین تک نہیں جائے گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یاد کرو کہ جب ابراہیمؑ کو اس کے رب نے چند باتوں میں آزما یا اور وہ اُن سب میں پورا اتر گیا، تو اس نے کہا: ——میں تجھے سب لوگوں کا پیشوا بنانے والا ہوں—— ابراہیمؑ نے عرض کیا: ——اور کیا میری اولاد سے بھی یہی وعدہ ہے؟—— اس نے جواب دیا: ——میرا وعدہ ظالموں سے متعلق نہیں ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ابراہیم کو اس کے رب نے کچھ باتوں سے آزمایا تو اس نے وہ پوری کر دکھائیں فرمایا میں تمہیں لوگوں کا پیشوا بنانے والا ہوں عرض کی اور میری اولاد سے فرمایا میرا عہد ظالموں کو نہیں پہنچتا- - Ahmed Raza

(اور وہ وقت یاد کرو) جب ابراہیم کا ان کے پروردگار نے چند باتوں کے ساتھ امتحان لیا۔ اور جب انہوں نے پوری کر دکھائیں ارشاد ہوا۔ میں تمہیں تمام انسانوں کا امام بنانے والا ہوں۔ انہوں نے کہا اور میری اولاد (میں سے بھی(؟ ارشاد ہوا: میرا عہدہ (امامت) ظالموں تک نہیں پہنچے گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And when
جَعَلْنَا
We established
ٱلْبَيْتَ
the [house-tribe / charter of governance]
مَثَابَةًۭ
as rewarding
لِّلنَّاسِ
for the people
وَأَمْنًۭا
and (as) peacefulness
وَٱتَّخِذُوا۟
— and adopt
مِن
from
مَّقَامِ
standard of
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim
مُصَلًّۭى
that which is to be followed (musalla) —
ۖ
وَعَهِدْنَآ
and We assigned
إِلَىٰٓ
to
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim
وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ
and Isma'eel
أَن
that,
طَهِّرَا
[Make progressive
بَيْتِىَ
My [house-tribe / charter of governance]
لِلطَّآئِفِينَ
for the visitors,
وَٱلْعَٰكِفِينَ
and the residents,
وَٱلرُّكَّعِ
and (for) those who humbly
ٱلسُّجُودِ
execute the services.]
٢
١٢٥
وَإِذْ جَعَلْنَا ٱلْبَيْتَ مَثَابَةًۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَمْنًۭا وَٱتَّخِذُوا۟ مِن مَّقَامِ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ مُصَلًّۭى ۖ وَعَهِدْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ أَن طَهِّرَا بَيْتِىَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَٱلْعَٰكِفِينَ وَٱلرُّكَّعِ ٱلسُّجُودِ And when We established the [house-tribe / charter of governance] as rewarding for the people and (as) peacefulness — and adopt from standard of Ibrahim that which is to be followed (musalla) — and We assigned to Ibrahim and Isma'eel that, [Make progressive My [house-tribe / charter of governance] for the visitors, and the residents, and (for) those who humbly execute the services.]

And when We made the House (at Makka) a resort for mankind and sanctuary, (saying): Take as your place of worship the place where Abraham stood (to pray). And We imposed a duty upon Abraham and Ishmael, (saying): Purify My house for those who go around and those who meditate therein and those who bow down and prostrate themselves (in worship). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And [remember] when We made the House a place of reward for mankind and a sanctuary, [declaring], [Take the venue of prayer from Abraham]s Station.] We charged Abraham and Ishmael [with its upkeep, saying], [Purify My House for those who go around it, [for] those who make it a retreat and [for] those who bow and prostrate.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
We made the house (in Mecca) as a place of refuge and sanctuary for men. Adopt the place where Abraham stood as a place for prayer. We advised Abraham and Ishmael to keep My house clean for the pilgrims, the worshippers and for those who bow down and prostrate themselves in worship. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And when We made the House a pilgrimage for men and a (place of) security, and: Appoint for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of Ibrahim. And We enjoined Ibrahim and Ismail saying: Purify My House for those who visit (it) and those who abide (in it) for devotion and those who bow down (and) those who prostrate themselves. - Shakir, Habib

And We made the House [the Ka'bah] a place of assembly and a sanctuary for mankind, [saying], [Make the place where Abraham stood a place of worship.] We commanded Abraham and Ishmael, [Purify My House for those who walk round it, those who stay there for devotion, and those who bow down and prostrate themselves.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب ہم نے خانہ کعبہ کو ثواب اور امن کی جگہ بنایا اور حکم دے دیا کہ مقام ابراہیم کو مصّلی بناؤ اور ابراہیم علیھ السّلام و اسماعیل علیھ السّلام سے عہد لیا کہ ہمارے گھر کو طواف اور اعتکاف کرنے والوںاو ر رکوع و سجدہ کرنے والوں کے لئے پاک و پاکیزہ بنائے رکھو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور یہ کہ ہم نے اس گھر (کعبے) کو لوگوں کے لیے مرکز اور امن کی جگہ قرار دیا تھا اور لوگوں کو حکم دیا تھا کہ ابراہیمؑ جہاں عبادت کے لیے کھڑا ہوتا ہے اس مقام کو مستقل جائے نماز بنا لو اور ابراہیمؑ اور ا سماعیل کو تاکید کی تھی کہ میرے گھر کو طواف اور اعتکاف اور رکوع اور سجدہ کرنے والوں کے لیے پاک رکھو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور (یاد کرو) جب ہم نے اس گھر کو لوگوں کے لئے مرجع اور امان بنایا اور ابراہیم کے کھڑے ہونے کی جگہ کو نماز کا مقام بناؤ اور ہم نے تاکید فرمائی ابراہیم و اسماعیل ؑ کو کہ میرا گھر خوب ستھرا کرو طواف کرنے والوں اور اعتکاف والوں اور رکوع و سجود والوں کے لئے - - Ahmed Raza

اور (وہ وقت یاد کرو) جب ہم نے اس گھر (خانہ کعبہ) کو تمام لوگوں کے لئے مرکز اور مقام امن قرار دیا۔ اور (حکم دیا کہ) مقام ابراہیم (جہاں عبادت کے لئے کھڑے ہوئے تھے) کو (اپنی) نماز کی جگہ بناؤ اور ہم نے ابراہیم و اسماعیل کو وصیت کی (حکم دیا) کہ تم دونوں میرے (اس) گھر کو طواف کرنے والوں، اعتکاف کرنے والوں اور رکوع کرنے والوں کے لئے پاک و صاف رکھو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And when
قَالَ
said
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ
Ibrahim,
رَبِّ
[Rabb,
ٱجْعَلْ
make
هَٰذَا
this
بَلَدًا
city
ءَامِنًۭا
peaceful,
وَٱرْزُقْ
and give sustenance to
أَهْلَهُۥ
its residents
مِنَ
of
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
the fruits of
مَنْ
who
ءَامَنَ
became sure
مِنْهُم
from them
بِٱللَّهِ
about the One,
وَٱلْيَوْمِ
and the day
ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ
that which is to come.],
ۖ
قَالَ
(the One) said,
وَمَن
[And whoever
كَفَرَ
denies
فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ
then their enjoyment is
قَلِيلًۭا
little,
ثُمَّ
then
أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ
I will drag them
إِلَىٰ
towards
عَذَابِ
punishment of
ٱلنَّارِ
the fire;
ۖ
وَبِئْسَ
and evil is
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
where they are going.]
٢
١٢٦
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنًۭا وَٱرْزُقْ أَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۖ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ قَلِيلًۭا ثُمَّ أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ And when said Ibrahim, [Rabb, make this city peaceful, and give sustenance to its residents of the fruits of who became sure from them about the One, and the day that which is to come.], (the One) said, [And whoever denies then their enjoyment is little, then I will drag them towards punishment of the fire; and evil is where they are going.]

And when Abraham prayed: My Lord! Make this a region of security and bestow upon its people fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day, He answered: As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire - a hapless journey's end! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when Abraham said, [My Lord, make this a secure town, and provide its people with fruits—such of them as have faith in Allah and the Last Day,] He said, [As for him who is faithless, I will provide for him [too] for a short time, then I will shove him toward the punishment of the Fire and it is an evil destination.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When Abraham prayed to the Lord saying, [Lord, make this town a place of security and provide those in the town who believe in God and the Day of Judgement, with plenty,] God replied, [I shall allow those who hide the truth to enjoy themselves for a while. Then I shall drive them into the torment of hell fire, a terrible destination!] - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And when Ibrahim said: My Lord, make it a secure town and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the last day. He said: And whoever disbelieves, I will grant him enjoyment for a short while, then I will drive him to the chastisement of the fire; and it is an evil destination. - Shakir, Habib

And when Abraham prayed, [My Lord, make this city a city of peace, and provide its inhabitants with fruits, such of them as believe in God and the Last Day.] God said, [As for those who deny the truth, I will grant them benefits for a short while and then subject them to the punishment of the Fire -- an evil destination.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اس وقت کویاد کرو جب ابراہیم علیھ السّلام نے دعا کی کہ پروردگار اس شہر کو امن کاشہر قرار دے دے اور اس کے ان اہلِ شہر کو جو اللہ اور آخرت پر ایمان رکھتے ہوں پھلوں کا رزق عطا فرما. ارشاد ہوا کہ پھر جو کافر ہوجائیں گے انہیں دنیا میں تھوڑی نعمتیں دے کر آخرت میں عذابِ جہّنم میں زبردستی ڈھکیل دیا جائے گا جو بدترین انجام ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور یہ کہ ابراہیمؑ نے دعا کی: ——اے میرے رب، اس شہر کو امن کا شہر بنا دے، اور اس کے باشندوں میں جو اللہ اور آخرت کو مانیں، انہیں ہر قسم کے پھلو ں کا رزق دے—— جواب میں اس کے رب نے فرمایا: ——اور جو نہ مانے گا، دنیا کی چند روزہ زندگی کا سامان تومیں اُسے بھی دوں گا مگر آخرکار اُسے عذاب جہنم کی طرف گھسیٹوں گا، اور وہ بد ترین ٹھکانا ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب عرض کی ابراہیم ؑ نے کہ اے میرے رب اس شہر کو امان والا کردے اور اس کے رہنے والوں کو طرح طرح کے پھلوں سے روزی دے جو ان میں سے اللہ اور پچھلے دن پر ایمان لائیں فرمایا اور جو کافر ہوا تھوڑا برتنے کو اسے بھی دوں گا پھر اسے عذاب ِ دوزخ کی طرف مجبور کردوں گا اور بہت بری جگہ ہے پلٹنے کی- - Ahmed Raza

وَإِسْمَٰعِيلُ
including Isma'eel,
رَبَّنَا
— [Our Rabb!
تَقَبَّلْ
Accept
مِنَّآ
from us;
ۖ
إِنَّكَ
You certainly
أَنتَ
are
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
the Listener
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
the Knowing.] —
٢
١٢٧
وَإِذْ يَرْفَعُ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ ٱلْقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ And when brought up, Ibrahim, the principles from the [house-tribe / charter of governance], including Isma'eel, — [Our Rabb! Accept from us; You certainly are the Listener the Knowing.] —

And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

As Abraham raised the foundations of the House with Ishmael, [they prayed]: [Our Lord, accept it from us! Indeed You are the All-hearing, the All-knowing. - Qarai, Ali Quli

a nation
مُّسْلِمَةًۭ
submitted
لَّكَ
to You,
وَأَرِنَا
and show us
مَنَاسِكَنَا
our responsibilities,
وَتُبْ
and have forgiveness
عَلَيْنَآ
upon us;
ۖ
إِنَّكَ
certainly You
أَنتَ
are
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
the Forgiving,
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Safe-Keeper.

١٢٨
رَبَّنَا وَٱجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةًۭ مُّسْلِمَةًۭ لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ — [Our Rabb! And establish us as submitters to You and (establish) from our lineage a nation submitted to You, and show us our responsibilities, and have forgiveness upon us; certainly You are the Forgiving, the Safe-Keeper.

Our Lord! And make us submissive unto Thee and of our seed a nation submissive unto Thee, and show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Relenting, the Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Our Lord, make us submissive to You, and [raise] from our progeny a nation submissive to You, and show us our rites [of worship], and turn to us clemently. Indeed You are the All-clement, the All-merciful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Lord, make us good Muslims (one who submits himself to God) and from our descendants make a good Muslim nation. Teach us the rules of worship and accept our repentance; You are All-forgiving and All-merciful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Our Lord! and make us both submissive to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. - Shakir, Habib

اے رب ہمارے اور کر ہمیں تیرے حضور گردن رکھنے والا اور ہماری اولاد میں سے ایک امت تیری فرمانبردار اور ہمیں ہماری عبادت کے قاعدے بتا اور ہم پر اپنی رحمت کے ساتھ رجوع فرما بیشک تو ہی ہے بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان۔ - Ahmed Raza

— [Our Rabb,
وَٱبْعَثْ
and induce
فِيهِمْ
within them
رَسُولًۭا
a messenger
مِّنْهُمْ
from them,
يَتْلُوا۟
reading
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon them
ءَايَٰتِكَ
Your signs,
وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
and teaching them
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book,
وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ
and cleans them;
ۚ
إِنَّكَ
certainly You
أَنتَ
are
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the Fortified,
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the Wise.] —
٢
١٢٩
رَبَّنَا وَٱبْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًۭا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ — [Our Rabb, and induce within them a messenger from them, reading upon them Your signs, and teaching them the Book, and the wisdom and cleans them; certainly You are the Fortified, the Wise.] —

Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Our Lord, raise amongst them an apostle from among them, who will recite to them Your signs and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed You are the All-mighty, the All-wise.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Lord, send to them (our descendants) a Messenger of their own who will recite to them Your revelations, teach them the Book, give them wisdom, and purify them. You alone are the Majestic and the Most Wise.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Our Lord! and raise up in them an Apostle from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise. - Shakir, Habib

And who would
يَرْغَبُ
desire (a doctrine)

Ibrahim,
إِلَّا
except
مَن
he who
سَفِهَ
fools his
نَفْسَهُۥ
own self?
ۚ
وَلَقَدِ
While certainly,
ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ
We chose him
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World;
ۖ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed he
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
the forthcoming
لَمِنَ
is of those who are
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
suitable.
٢
١٣٠
وَمَن يَرْغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفْسَهُۥ ۚ وَلَقَدِ ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ And who would desire (a doctrine) other than doctrine of Ibrahim, except he who fools his own self? While certainly, We chose him in the World; and indeed he in the forthcoming is of those who are suitable.

And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save him who befooleth himself? Verily We chose him in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And who will [ever] forsake Abraham]s creed except one who debases himself? We certainly chose him in the [present] world, and in the Hereafter he will indeed be among the Righteous. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
No one turns away from Abraham's Tradition except one who makes a fool of himself. To Abraham We have granted distinction in this world and in the life hereafter he will be among the righteous ones. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And who forsakes the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous. - Shakir, Habib

Who but a foolish man would turn away from the religion of Abraham? We chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be among the righteous. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور کون ہے جو ملّاُ ابراہیم علیھ السّلام سے اعراض کرے مگر یہ کہ اپنے ہی کوبے وقوف بنائے . اور ہم نے انہیں دنیا میں منتخب قرار دیا ہے اور وہ آخرت میں نیک کردار لوگوں میں ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اب کون ہے، جو ابراہیمؑ کے طریقے سے نفرت کرے؟ جس نے خود اپنے آپ کو حماقت و جہالت میں مبتلا کر لیا ہو، اس کے سو ا کون یہ حرکت کرسکتا ہے؟ ابراہیمؑ تو وہ شخص ہے، جس کو ہم نے دنیا میں اپنے کام کے لیے چُن لیا تھا اور آخرت میں اس کا شمار صالحین میں ہوگا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
all the states of being].
When said to him his Rabb, [Submit] (Ibrahim) said, [I submit to Rabb of all the states of being].

When his Lord said unto him: Surrender! he said: I have surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When his Lord said to him, [Submit,] he said, [I submit to the Lord of all the worlds.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
When God commanded Abraham to submit, he replied, [I have submitted myself to the Will of the Lord of the universe.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds. - Shakir, Habib

When his Lord said to him, [Surrender!] he responded, [I have surrendered to the Lord of the Universe,] - Wahiduddin Khan

جب ان سے ان کے پروردگار نے کہا کہ اپنے کو میرے حوالے کردو تو انہوں نے کہا کہ میں رب العالمین کے لئے سراپا تسلیم ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس کا حال یہ تھا کہ جب اس کے رب نے اس سے کہا: ——مسلم ہو جا——، تو اس نے فوراً کہا: ——میں مالک کائنات کا ——مسلم—— ہو گیا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جبکہ اس سے اس کے رب نے فرمایا گردن رکھ عرض کی میں نے گردن رکھی اس کے لئے جو رب ہے سارے جہان کا- - Ahmed Raza

(یہ انتخاب اس وقت ہوا) جب ان کے پروردگار نے ان سے فرمایا: ’’مسلم‘‘ ہو جا (سر تسلیم جھکا کر فرمانبردار ہو جا)۔ تو انہوں نے کہا میں نے تمام جہانوں کے رب کے سامنے سر جھکا دیا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And advocated
بِهَآ

إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ
Ibrahim
بَنِيهِ
to his descendants,
وَيَعْقُوبُ
and to Yaqoob,
يَٰبَنِىَّ
[O my descendants!
إِنَّ
Surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One
ٱصْطَفَىٰ
has chosen
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلدِّينَ
the governance system,
فَلَا
so don't
تَمُوتُنَّ
you die
إِلَّا
except
وَأَنتُم
while you are
مُّسْلِمُونَ
in submission.]

وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ And advocated about it Ibrahim to his descendants, and to Yaqoob, [O my descendants! Surely the One has chosen for you the governance system, so don't you die except while you are in submission.]

The same did Abraham enjoin upon his sons, and also Jacob, (saying): O my sons! Lo! Allah hath chosen for you the (true) religion; therefore die not save as men who have surrendered (unto Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Abraham enjoined this [creed] upon his children, and [so did] Jacob, [saying], [My children! Allah has indeed chosen this religion for you; so do not die except as those who have surrendered themselves [to Allah]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Abraham left this legacy to his sons and, in turn, so did Jacob saying, [God has chosen this religion for you. You must not leave this world unless you are a Muslim (submitted to the will of the Lord of the Universe).] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And the same did Ibrahim enjoin on his sons and (so did) Yaqoub. O my sons! surely Allah has chosen for you (this) faith, therefore die not unless you are Muslims. - Shakir, Habib

and Abraham enjoined his sons to do the same, as did Jacob, [My sons, God has chosen this religion for you; so do not let death overtake you, except when you are in a state of submission.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اسی بات کی ابراہیم علیھ السّلام اور یعقوب علیھ السّلام نے اپنی اولاد کو وصیت کی کہ اے میرے فرزندوں اللہ نے تمہارے لئے دین کو منتخب کردیا ہے اب اس وقت تک دنیا سے نہ جانا جب تک واقعی مسلمان نہ ہوجاؤ - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اسی طریقے پر چلنے کی ہدایت اس نے اپنی اولاد کو کی تھی اور اسی کی وصیت یعقوبؑ اپنی اولاد کو کر گیا اس نے کہا تھا کہ: ——میرے بچو! اللہ نے تمہارے لیے یہی دین پسند کیا ہے لہٰذا مرتے دم تک مسلم ہی رہنا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اسی دین کی وصیت کی ابراہیم ؑ نے اپنے بیٹوں کو اور یعقوب نے کہ اے میرے بیٹو! بیشک اللہ نے یہ دین تمہارے لئے چن لیا تو نہ مرنا مگر مسلمان - - Ahmed Raza

اور ابراہیم (ع) نے اپنے بیٹوں کو اسی (ملت پر قائم رہنے) کی وصیت کی اور یعقوب (ع) نے بھی۔ اے میرے فرزند! بے شک اللہ نے تمہارے لئے ایک خاص دین (اسلام) منتخب کیا ہے سو تم ہرگز نہ مرنا مگر اس حالت میں کہ تم (حقیقی) مسلمان ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
