And thou wouldst have deemed them waking though they were asleep, and We caused them to turn over to the right and the left, and their dog stretching out his paws on the threshold. If thou hadst observed them closely thou hadst assuredly turned away from them in flight, and hadst been filled with awe of them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

You will suppose them to be awake, although they are asleep. We turn them to the right and to the left, and their dog [lies] stretching its forelegs at the threshold. اور تمہارا خیال ہے کہ وہ جاگ رہے ہیں حالانکہ وہ عالهِ خواب میں ہیں اورہم انہیں داہنے بائیں کروٹ بھی بدلوارہے ہیں اور ان کا کتا ّڈیوڑھی پر دونوں ہاتھ پھیلائے ڈٹا ہوا ہے اگر تم ان کی کیفیت پر مطلع ہوجاتے تو اُلٹے پاؤں بھاگ نکلتے اورتمہارے دل میں دہشت سما جاتی - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تم انہیں دیکھ کر یہ سمجھتے کہ وہ جاگ رہے ہیں، حالانکہ وہ سو رہے تھے ہم انہیں دائیں بائیں کروٹ دلواتے رہتے تھے اور ان کا کتا غار کے دہانے پر ہاتھ پھیلائے بیٹھا تھا اگر تم کہیں جھانک کر اُنہیں دیکھتے تو الٹے پاؤں بھاگ کھڑے ہوتے اور تم پر ان کے نظارے سے دہشت بیٹھ جاتی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور تم انھیں جاگتا سمجھو اور وہ سوتے ہیں اور ہم ان کی داہنی بائیں کروٹیں بدلتے ہیں اور ان کا کتا اپنی کلائیاں پھیلائے ہوئے ہے غار کی چوکھٹ پر اے سننے! والے اگر تو انہیں جھانک کر دیکھے تو ان سے پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگے اور ان سے ہیبت میں بھر جائے - Ahmed Raza
