اور پھر شہر کی عورتوں نے کہنا شروع کردیا کہ عزیز مصر کی عورت اپنے جوان کو اپنی طرف کھینچ رہی تھی اور اسے اس کی محبت نے مدہوش بنادیا تھا ہم یہ دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ یہ عورت بالکل ہی کھلی ہوئی گمراہی میں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

And when she heard of their sly talk, she sent to them and prepared for them a cushioned couch (to lie on at the feast) and gave to every one of them a knife and said (to Joseph): Come out unto them! And when they saw him they exalted him and cut their hands, exclaiming: Allah Blameless! This is no a human being. This is not other than some gracious angel. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When she heard of their machinations, she sent for them and arranged a repast, and gave each of them a knife, and said [to Joseph], [Come out before them.] So when they saw him, they marvelled at him and cut their hands [absent-mindedly], and they said, [Good heavens! When she heard their gossiping, she invited them to her house for a banquet and gave a knife to each of them. Then she told Joseph to appear before them. When they saw Joseph, they were so amazed that they cut their hands and said, [Goodness gracious! He is not a mortal but is a charming angel!] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So when she heard of their sly talk she sent for them and prepared for them a repast, and gave each of them a knife, and said (to Yusuf): Come forth to them. So when they saw him, they deemed him great, and cut their hands (in amazement), and said: Remote is Allah (from imperfection); this is not a mortal; this is but a noble angel. - Shakir, Habib

When she heard of their intrigues, she sent for them and prepared a party for them. She gave a knife to each of them [to cut fruits, etc.] and then asked Joseph to appear before them. When the women saw him, they were greatly amazed [at his beauty], and they cut their hands, exclaiming, [God preserve us! This is no human being but a noble angel!] - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر جب زلیخا نے ان عورتوں کی مکاری اور تشہیر کا حال سنا تو بلا بھیجا اور ان کے لئے پرتکلف دعوت کا انتطام کرکے مسند لگادی اور سب کو ایک ایک چھری دے دی اور یوسف سے کہا کہ تم ان کے سامنے سے نکل جاؤ پھر جیسے ہی ان لوگوں نے دیکھا تو بڑا حسین و جمیل پایا اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ ڈالے اور کہا کہ ماشائ اللہ یہ تو آدمی نہیں ہے بلکہ کوئی محترم فرشتہ ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس نے جو اُن کی یہ مکارانہ باتیں سنیں تو اُن کو بلاوا بھیج دیا اور ان کے لیے تکیہ دار مجلس آراستہ کی اور ضیافت میں ہر ایک کے آگے ایک چھری رکھ دی (پھر عین اس وقت جبکہ وہ پھل کاٹ کاٹ کر کھا رہی تھیں) اس نے یوسفؑ کو اشارہ کیا کہ ان کے سامنے نکل آ جب ان عورتوں کی نگاہ اس پر پڑی تو وہ دنگ رہ گئیں اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ بیٹھیں اور بے ساختہ پکا ر اٹھیں ——حاشاللّٰہ، یہ شخص انسان نہیں ہے، یہ تو کوئی بزرگ فرشتہ ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو جب زلیخا نے ان کا چرچا سنا تو ان عورتوں کو بلا بھیجا اور ان کے لیے مسندیں تیار کیں اور ان میں ہر ایک کو ایک چھری دی اور یوسف سے کہا ان پر نکل آؤ جب عورتوں نے یوسف کو دیکھا اس کی بڑائی بولنے لگیں اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ لیے اور بولیں اللہ کو پاکی ہے یہ تو جنس بشر سے نہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر کوئی معزز فرشتہ، - Ahmed Raza

جب زلیخا نے ان عورتوں کی یہ مکارانہ باتیں سنیں تو اس نے انہیں بلوا بھیجا اور ان کے لئے مسندیں لگا دیں اور ہر ایک کو (پھل کاٹنے کیلئے) ایک چھری دے دی۔ (پھر جب وہ پھل کاٹ کر کھانے لگیں تو) اس نے یوسف (ع) سے کہا ذرا ان کے سامنے نکل آ پس جب انہوں نے دیکھا تو (حسن و جمال میں) انہیں بڑھا ہوا پایا (لہٰذا حیران رہ گئیں اور پھل کی بجائے) اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ بیٹھیں (اور احساس تک نہ ہوا) اور (بے ساختہ) کہہ اٹھیں ماشاء اللہ۔ یہ انسان نہیں ہے بلکہ کوئی معزز فرشتہ ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

She said: This is he on whose account ye blamed me. I asked of him an evil act, but he proved continent, but if he do not my behest he verily shall be imprisoned, and verily shall be of those brought low. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

عزیز کی بیوی نے کہا ——دیکھ لیا! یہ ہے یہ وہ شخص جس کے معاملہ میں تم مجھ پر باتیں بناتی تھیں بے شک میں نے اِسے رجھانے کی کوشش کی تھی مگر یہ بچ نکلا اگر یہ میرا کہنا نہ مانے گا تو قید کیا جائے گا اور بہت ذلیل و خوار ہوگا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

زلیخا نے کہا تو يہ ہیں وہ جن پر مجھے طعنہ دیتی تھیں اور بیشک میں نے ان کا جِی لبھانا چاہا تو انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو بچا یا اور بیشک اگر وہ یہ کام نہ کریں گے جو میں ان سے کہتی ہوں تو ضرور قید میں پڑیں گے اور وہ ضرور ذلت اٹھائیں گے - Ahmed Raza

And two young men went to prison with him. One of them said: I dreamed that I was pressing wine. The other said: I dreamed that I was carrying upon my head bread whereof the birds were eating. There entered the prison two youths along with him. One of them said, [I dreamt that I am pressing grapes.] The other said, [I dreamt that I am carrying bread on my head from which the birds are eating.] [Inform us of its interpretation,] [they said], [for indeed we see you to be a virtuous man.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Two young men were also sent to serve prison sentences (for different reasons). One of them said, [I had a dream in which I was brewing wine.] The other one said, [In my dream I was carrying some bread on my head and birds were eating that bread.] They asked Joseph if he would interpret their dreams. And two youths entered the prison with him. One of them said: I saw myself pressing wine. And the other said: I saw myself carrying bread on my head, of which birds ate. Inform us of its interpretation; surely we see you to be of the doers of good. - Shakir, Habib

قید خانہ میں دو غلام اور بھی اس کے ساتھ داخل ہوئے ایک روز اُن میں سے ایک نے اُس سے کہا ——میں نے خواب میں دیکھا ہے کہ میں شراب کشید کر رہا ہوں—— دوسرے نے کہا ——میں نے دیکھا کہ میرے سر پر روٹیاں رکھی ہیں اور پرندے ان کو کھا رہے ہیں—— دونوں نے کہا ——ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتائیے، ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ آپ ایک نیک آدمی ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس کے ساتھ قیدخانہ میں دو جوان داخل ہوئے ان میں ایک بولا میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ شراب نچوڑتا ہوں اور دوسرا بولا میں نے خواب دیکھا کہ میرے سر پر کچھ روٹیاں ہیں جن میں سے پرند کھاتے ہیں، ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتایے، بیشک ہم آپ کو نیکو کار دیکھتے ہیں - Ahmed Raza

He said: The food which ye are given (daily) shall not come unto you but I shall tell you the interpretation ere it cometh unto you. This is of that which my Lord hath taught me. Lo! I have forsaken the religion of folk who believe not in Allah and are disbelievers in the Hereafter. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Before the meals you are served come to you I will inform you of its interpretation. That is among things my Lord has taught me. Indeed, I renounce the creed of the people who have no faith in Allah and who [also] disbelieve in the Hereafter. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Joseph) said, [To prove that my interpretation of your dream is true, I can tell you what kind of food you will receive even before it comes to you. My Lord has given me such talents. I have given up the tradition of the people who do not believe in God and the Day of Judgment - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: There shall not come to you the food with which you are fed, but I will inform you both of its interpretation before it comes to you; this is of what my Lord has taught me; surely I have forsaken the religion of a people who do not believe in Allah, and they are deniers of the hereafter: - Shakir, Habib

Joseph said to them, [I shall inform you of the interpretation of your dreams before your meal is brought to you. This is a part of the knowledge that my Lord has taught me. I have renounced the religion of the people who do not believe in God and who deny the Hereafter. - Wahiduddin Khan

یوسف نے کہا کہ جو کھانا تم کو دیا جاتا ہے وہ نہ آنے پائے گا اور میں تمہیں تعبیر بتادوں گا -یہ تعبیر مجھے میرے پروردگار نے بتائی ہے اور میں نے اس قوم کے راستے کو چھوڑ دیا ہے جس کا ایمان اللہ پر نہیں ہے اور وہ روز هآخرت کا بھی انکار کرنے والی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یوسفؑ نے کہا: ——یہاں جو کھانا تمہیں ملا کرتا ہے اس کے آنے سے پہلے میں تمہیں اِن خوابوں کی تعبیر بتا دوں گا یہ علم اُن علوم میں سے ہے جو میرے رب نے مجھے عطا کیے ہیں واقعہ یہ ہے کہ میں نے اُن لوگوں کا طریقہ چھوڑ کر جو اللہ پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور آخرت کا انکار کرتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یوسف نے کہا جو کھانا تمہیں ملا کرتا ہے وہ تمہارے پاس نہ آنے پائے گا کہ میں اس کی تعبیر اس کے آنے سے پہلے تمہیں بتادوں گا یہ ان علموں میں سے ہے جو مجھے میرے رب نے سکھایا ہے، بیشک میں نے ان لوگوں کا دین نہ مانا جو اللہ پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور وہ آخرت سے منکر ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

وَٱتَّبَعْتُ
And I follow
مِلَّةَ
doctrine of
ءَابَآءِىٓ
my forefathers
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
وَإِسْحَٰقَ
and Ishaaq;
وَيَعْقُوبَ
and Yaqoob;
ۚ
مَا
not
كَانَ
has been
لَنَآ
for us
أَن
that
نُّشْرِكَ
we take on partners
بِٱللَّهِ
with the One
مِن
from
شَىْءٍۢ
a thing;
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
that is
مِن
from
فَضْلِ
grace of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
عَلَيْنَا
upon us,
وَعَلَى
and upon
ٱلنَّاسِ
the populace,
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
أَكْثَرَ
many of
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
لَا
are not
يَشْكُرُونَ
thankful.

٣٨
وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۚ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ And I follow doctrine of my forefathers Ibrahim and Ishaaq; and Yaqoob; not has been for us that we take on partners with the One from a thing; that is from grace of the One upon us, and upon the populace, but many of the people are not thankful.

And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. It never was for us to attribute aught as partner to Allah. This is of the bounty of Allah unto us (the seed of Abraham) and unto mankind; but most men give not thanks. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
