وَرَٰوَدَتْهُ ٱلَّتِى هُوَ فِى بَيْتِهَا عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ وَغَلَّقَتِ ٱلْأَبْوَٰبَ وَقَالَتْ هَيْتَ لَكَ ۚ قَالَ مَعَاذَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَحْسَنَ مَثْوَاىَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And she, in whose house he was, asked of him an evil act. She bolted the doors and said: Come! He said: I seek refuge in Allah! Lo! he is my lord, who hath treated me honourably. Lo! wrong-doers never prosper. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The woman in whose house he was, solicited him. She closed the doors and said, [Come!!] He said, [God forbid! Indeed He is my Lord; He has given me a good abode. Indeed the wrongdoers are not felicitous.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

His master's wife then tried to seduce him. She locked the doors and said to him, [Come on.] He said, [I seek refuge in God who has given me a good place of shelter. The unjust will certainly have no happiness.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And she in whose house he was sought to make himself yield (to her), and she made fast the doors and said: Come forward. He said: I seek Allah's refuge, surely my Lord made good my abode: Surely the unjust do not prosper. - Shakir, Habib

اور اس نے ان سے اظہار همحبتّ کیا جس کے گھر میں یوسف رہتے تھے اور دروازے بند کردیئے اور کہنے لگی لو آؤ یوسف نے کہا کہ معاذ اللہ وہ میرا مالک ہے اس نے مجھے اچھی طرح رکھا ہے اور ظلم کرنے والے کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہوتے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جس عورت کے گھر میں وہ تھا وہ اُس پر ڈورے ڈالنے لگی اور ایک روز دروازے بند کر کے بولی ——آ جا—— یوسفؑ نے کہا ——خدا کی پناہ، میرے رب نے تو مجھے اچھی منزلت بخشی (اور میں یہ کام کروں!) ایسے ظالم کبھی فلاح نہیں پایا کرتے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور وہ جس عورت کے گھر میں تھا اس نے اسے لبھایا کہ اپنا آپا نہ روکے اور دروازے سب بند کردیے اور بولی آؤ تمہیں سے کہتی ہوں کہا اللہ کی پناہ وہ عزیز تو میرا رب یعنی پرورش کرنے والا ہے اس نے مجھے اچھی طرح رکھا بیشک ظالموں کا بھلا نہیں ہوتا، - Ahmed Raza

اور پھر وہ (یوسف) جس عورت کے گھر میں تھا وہ اپنی مطلب براری کے لئے اس پر ڈورے ڈالنے لگی (چنانچہ) ایک دن سب دروازے بند کر دیے اور کہا بس آجاؤ! یوسف نے کہا معاذ اللہ! (اللہ کی پناہ) وہ (تیرا شوہر) میرا مربی و محسن ہے اس نے مجھے بڑی عزت سے (اپنے گھر میں) ٹھہرایا ہے تو اس کے بدلے میں اس کی امانت میں خیانت کروں؟ (اے معاذ اللہ) بے شک ظالم کبھی فلاح نہیں پاتے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلَآ أَن رَّءَا بُرْهَٰنَ رَبِّهِۦ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَٱلْفَحْشَآءَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

She verily desired him, and he would have desired her if it had not been that he saw the argument of his Lord. Thus it was, that We might ward off from him evil and lewdness. Lo! he was of Our chosen slaves. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

She certainly made for him; and he would have made for her [too] had he not beheld the proof of his Lord. So it was, that We might turn away from him all evil and indecency. He was indeed one of Our dedicated servants. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And they raced with one another to the door, and she tore his shirt from behind, and they met her lord and master at the door. She said: What shall be his reward, who wisheth evil to thy folk, save prison or a painful doom? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And they both hastened to the door, and she rent his shirt from behind and they met her husband at the door. She said: What is the punishment of him who intends evil to your wife except imprisonment or a painful chastisement? - Shakir, Habib

They both ran to the door and, in the struggle, she tore his shirt at the back. They found her husband at the door. She cried, [Shall not the man who wished to violate your wife be thrown into prison or sternly punished?] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور دونوں نے دروازے کی طرف سبقت کی اور اس نے ان کا کرتا پیچھے سے پھاڑ دیا اور دونوں نے اس کے سردار کو دروازہ ہی پر دیکھ لیا -اس نے گھبرا کر فریاد کی کہ جو تمہاری عورت کے ساتھ برائی کا ارادہ کرے اس کی سزا اس کے علاوہ کیا ہے کہ اسے قیدی بنادیاجائے یا اس پر دردناک عذاب کیا جائے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

آخر کار یوسفؑ اور وہ آگے پیچھے دروازے کی طرف بھاگے اور اس نے پیچھے سے یوسفؑ کا قمیص (کھینچ کر) پھاڑ دیا دروازے پر دونوں نے اس کے شوہر کو موجود پایا اسے دیکھتے ہی عورت کہنے لگی، ——کیا سزا ہے اس شخص کی جو تیری گھر والی پر نیت خراب کرے؟ اِس کے سوا اور کیا سزا ہوسکتی ہے کہ وہ قید کیا جائے یا اسے سخت عذاب دیا جائے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور دونوں دروازے کی طرف دوڑے اور عورت نے اس کا کر ُتا پیچھے سے چیر لیا اور دونوں کو عورت کا میاں دروازے کے پاس ملا بولی کیا سزا ہے اس کی جس نے تیری گھر والی سے بدی چاہی مگر یہ کہ قید کیا جائے یا دکھ کی مار - Ahmed Raza

اور وہ دونوں ایک دوسرے سے پہلے دروازہ تک پہنچنے کے لئے دوڑے اور اس عورت نے اس مرد (یوسف) کا کرتہ پیچھے سے (کھینچ کر) پھاڑ دیا اور پھر دونوں نے اس عورت کے خاوند کو دروازے کے پاس (کھڑا ہوا) پایا۔ اسے دیکھتے ہی اپنی بے گناہی ثابت کرنے کے لیے اس عورت نے بات بنائی اور کہا جو شخص تمہاری بیوی کے ساتھ بدکاری کرنے کا ارادہ کرے اس کی سزا اس کے سوا اور کیا ہے کہ اسے قید کر دیا جائے یا کوئی دردناک عذاب دیا جائے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

قَالَ هِىَ رَٰوَدَتْنِى عَن نَّفْسِى ۚ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِهَآ إِن كَانَ قَمِيصُهُۥ قُدَّ مِن قُبُلٍۢ فَصَدَقَتْ وَهُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

(Joseph) said: She it was who asked of me an evil act. And a witness of her own folk testified: If his shirt is torn from before, then she speaketh truth and he is of the liars. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Joseph said, [It was she who tried to seduce me.] Someone from the household in confirmation of Joseph's statement said, [If his shirt it torn from the front, she has spoken the truth and he is lying, - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: She sought to make me yield (to her); and a witness of her own family bore witness: If his shirt is rent from front, she speaks the truth and he is one of the liars: - Shakir, Habib

Joseph said, [It was she who sought to seduce me.] One of her household testified, [If his shirt is torn at the front then she is speaking the truth, and he is lying. - Wahiduddin Khan

یوسف نے کہا کہ اس نے خود مجھ سے اظہار محبت ّکیا ہے اور اس پر اس کے گھر والوں میں سے ایک گواہ نے گواہی بھی دے دی کہ اگر ان کا دامن سامنے سے پھٹا ہے تو وہ سچی ہے اور یہ جھوٹوں میں سے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یوسفؑ نے کہا ——یہی مجھے پھانسنے کی کوشش کر رہی تھی—— اس عورت کے اپنے کنبہ والوں میں سے ایک شخص نے (قرینے کی) شہادت پیش کی کہ ——اگر یوسفؑ کا قمیص آگے سے پھٹا ہو تو عورت سچی ہے اور یہ جھوٹا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور پھر شہر کی عورتوں نے کہنا شروع کردیا کہ عزیز مصر کی عورت اپنے جوان کو اپنی طرف کھینچ رہی تھی اور اسے اس کی محبت نے مدہوش بنادیا تھا ہم یہ دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ یہ عورت بالکل ہی کھلی ہوئی گمراہی میں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

And when she heard of their sly talk, she sent to them and prepared for them a cushioned couch (to lie on at the feast) and gave to every one of them a knife and said (to Joseph): Come out unto them! And when they saw him they exalted him and cut their hands, exclaiming: Allah Blameless! This is no a human being. This is not other than some gracious angel. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When she heard of their machinations, she sent for them and arranged a repast, and gave each of them a knife, and said [to Joseph], [Come out before them.] So when they saw him, they marvelled at him and cut their hands [absent-mindedly], and they said, [Good heavens! When she heard their gossiping, she invited them to her house for a banquet and gave a knife to each of them. Then she told Joseph to appear before them. When they saw Joseph, they were so amazed that they cut their hands and said, [Goodness gracious! He is not a mortal but is a charming angel!] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So when she heard of their sly talk she sent for them and prepared for them a repast, and gave each of them a knife, and said (to Yusuf): Come forth to them. So when they saw him, they deemed him great, and cut their hands (in amazement), and said: Remote is Allah (from imperfection); this is not a mortal; this is but a noble angel. - Shakir, Habib

When she heard of their intrigues, she sent for them and prepared a party for them. She gave a knife to each of them [to cut fruits, etc.] and then asked Joseph to appear before them. When the women saw him, they were greatly amazed [at his beauty], and they cut their hands, exclaiming, [God preserve us! This is no human being but a noble angel!] - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر جب زلیخا نے ان عورتوں کی مکاری اور تشہیر کا حال سنا تو بلا بھیجا اور ان کے لئے پرتکلف دعوت کا انتطام کرکے مسند لگادی اور سب کو ایک ایک چھری دے دی اور یوسف سے کہا کہ تم ان کے سامنے سے نکل جاؤ پھر جیسے ہی ان لوگوں نے دیکھا تو بڑا حسین و جمیل پایا اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ ڈالے اور کہا کہ ماشائ اللہ یہ تو آدمی نہیں ہے بلکہ کوئی محترم فرشتہ ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس نے جو اُن کی یہ مکارانہ باتیں سنیں تو اُن کو بلاوا بھیج دیا اور ان کے لیے تکیہ دار مجلس آراستہ کی اور ضیافت میں ہر ایک کے آگے ایک چھری رکھ دی (پھر عین اس وقت جبکہ وہ پھل کاٹ کاٹ کر کھا رہی تھیں) اس نے یوسفؑ کو اشارہ کیا کہ ان کے سامنے نکل آ جب ان عورتوں کی نگاہ اس پر پڑی تو وہ دنگ رہ گئیں اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ بیٹھیں اور بے ساختہ پکا ر اٹھیں ——حاشاللّٰہ، یہ شخص انسان نہیں ہے، یہ تو کوئی بزرگ فرشتہ ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو جب زلیخا نے ان کا چرچا سنا تو ان عورتوں کو بلا بھیجا اور ان کے لیے مسندیں تیار کیں اور ان میں ہر ایک کو ایک چھری دی اور یوسف سے کہا ان پر نکل آؤ جب عورتوں نے یوسف کو دیکھا اس کی بڑائی بولنے لگیں اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ لیے اور بولیں اللہ کو پاکی ہے یہ تو جنس بشر سے نہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر کوئی معزز فرشتہ، - Ahmed Raza

جب زلیخا نے ان عورتوں کی یہ مکارانہ باتیں سنیں تو اس نے انہیں بلوا بھیجا اور ان کے لئے مسندیں لگا دیں اور ہر ایک کو (پھل کاٹنے کیلئے) ایک چھری دے دی۔ (پھر جب وہ پھل کاٹ کر کھانے لگیں تو) اس نے یوسف (ع) سے کہا ذرا ان کے سامنے نکل آ پس جب انہوں نے دیکھا تو (حسن و جمال میں) انہیں بڑھا ہوا پایا (لہٰذا حیران رہ گئیں اور پھل کی بجائے) اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ بیٹھیں (اور احساس تک نہ ہوا) اور (بے ساختہ) کہہ اٹھیں ماشاء اللہ۔ یہ انسان نہیں ہے بلکہ کوئی معزز فرشتہ ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
