بَلْ
On the contrary,
كَذَّبُوا۟
they continously contradict
بِمَا
regarding what
لَمْ
not
يُحِيطُوا۟
they encompass
بِعِلْمِهِۦ
any knowledge about it,
وَلَمَّا
and what not
يَأْتِهِمْ
comes to them of
تَأْوِيلُهُۥ
its summarization;
ۚ
كَذَٰلِكَ
that is how
كَذَّبَ
contradicted
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
مِن
were from
قَبْلِهِمْ
before them,
ۖ
فَٱنظُرْ
thus see
كَيْفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
end of
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the people in darkness.
١٠
٣٩
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُوا۟ بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُۥ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ On the contrary, they continously contradict regarding what not they encompass any knowledge about it, and what not comes to them of its summarization; that is how contradicted the ones who were from before them, thus see how was end of the people in darkness.

Nay, but they denied that, the knowledge whereof they could not compass, and whereof the interpretation (in events) hath not yet come unto them. Even so did those before them deny. Then see what was the consequence for the wrong-doers! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed, they deny something whose knowledge they do not comprehend, and whose explanation has not yet come to them. Those who were before them denied likewise. So observe how was the fate of the wrongdoers! - Qarai, Ali Quli

They call a lie something that is beyond the limit of their knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet been revealed. Some people who lived before them also called Our revelations lies. Consider how terrible was the end of the unjust people! - Sarwar, Muhammad

Nay, they reject that of which they have no comprehensive knowledge, and the final sequel of it has not yet come to them; even thus did those before them reject (the truth); see then what was the end of the unjust. - Shakir, Habib

Indeed, they are denying something which they cannot comprehend; the reality not yet having dawned on them. Likewise those before them rejected the truth. But see what was the end of the wrongdoers. - Wahiduddin Khan

درحقیقت ان لوگوں نے اس چیز کی تکذیب کی ہے جس کا مکمل علم بھی نہیں ہے اور اس کی تاویل بھی ان کے پاس نہیں آئی ہے اسی طرح ان کے پہلے والوں نے بھی تکذیب کی تھی اب دیکھو کہ ظلم کرنے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اصل یہ ہے کہ جو چیز اِن کے علم کی گرفت میں نہیں آئی اور جس کا مآل بھی ان کے سامنے نہیں آیا، اُس کو اِنہوں نے (خوامخواہ اٹکل پچّو) جھٹلا دیا اِسی طرح تو ان سے پہلے کے لوگ بھی جھٹلا چکے ہیں پھر دیکھ لو اُن ظالموں کا کیا انجام ہُوا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بلکہ اسے جھٹلایا جس کے علم پر قابو نہ پایا اور ابھی انہوں نے اس کا انجام نہیں دیکھا ایسے ہی ان سے اگلوں نے جھٹلایا تھا تو دیکھو ظالموں کیسا انجام ہوا - Ahmed Raza

بلکہ یہ لوگ اس چیز کو جھٹلا دیتے ہیں جس کا علمی احاطہ نہیں کر سکتے اور جس کی تاویل ابھی ان کے سامنے نہیں آئی ہے اسی طرح ان لوگوں نے بھی (حقائق کو) جھٹلایا تھا جو ان سے پہلے تھے تو دیکھو کہ ظلم کرنے والوں کا کیا انجام ہوا؟ - Najafi, Muhammad

And from them

بِهِۦ
regarding it;
ۚ
وَرَبُّكَ
and your Rabb is
أَعْلَمُ
well acknowledged
بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
regarding the corruptors.
١٠
٤٠
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ And from them are some who have conviction regarding it, and from them are some who not have conviction regarding it; and your Rabb is well acknowledged regarding the corruptors.

And of them is he who believeth therein, and of them is he who believeth not therein, and thy Lord is Best Aware of the corrupters. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Some of them believe in it, and some of them do not believe in it, and your Lord best knows the agents of corruption. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Some of them believe in the Quran and others do not. Your Lord knows best the evil doers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And of them is he who believes in it, and of them is he who does not believe in it, and your Lord best knows the mischief-makers. - Shakir, Habib

Some of them will believe in it [the Quran], while others will not. And your Lord is fully aware of the evil-doers. - Wahiduddin Khan

ان میں بعض وہ ہیں جو اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور بعض نہیں مانتے ہیں اور آپ کا پروردگار فساد کرنے والوں کو خوب جانتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن میں سے کچھ لوگ ایمان لائیں گے اور کچھ نہیں لائیں گے اور تیرا رب اُن مفسدوں کو خوب جانتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And if
كَذَّبُوكَ
they deny you
فَقُل
then say,
لِّى
[For me
عَمَلِى
my works,
وَلَكُمْ
and for you
عَمَلُكُمْ
your works;
ۖ
أَنتُم
you are
بَرِيٓـُٔونَ
vindicated
مِمَّآ
from what
أَعْمَلُ
and I am doing,
وَأَنَا۠
and I am
بَرِىٓءٌۭ
free from
مِّمَّا
that which
تَعْمَلُونَ
you are doing.]
١٠
٤١
وَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل لِّى عَمَلِى وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ ۖ أَنتُم بَرِيٓـُٔونَ مِمَّآ أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ And if they deny you then say, [For me my works, and for you your works; you are vindicated from what and I am doing, and I am free from that which you are doing.]

And if they deny thee, say: Unto me my work, and unto you your work. Ye are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If they deny you, say, [My deeds belong to me and your deeds belong to you: you are absolved of what I do and I am absolved of what you do.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

If they call you a liar, tell them, [Let each one of us follow his own way. You will not be responsible for what I do and I will not be responsible for what you do]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if they call you a liar, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do. - Shakir, Habib

If they should reject you, say, [My deeds are mine and your deeds are yours. You are not accountable for my actions, nor am I accountable for what you do.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر یہ آپ کی تکذیب کریں تو کہہ دیجئے کہ میرے لئے میرا عمل ہے اور تمہارے لئے تمہارا عمل ہے تم میرے عمل سے بری اور میں تمہارے اعمال سے بیزار ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اگر یہ تجھے جھٹلاتے ہیں تو کہہ دے کہ “میرا عمل میرے لیے ہے اور تمہارا عمل تمہارے لیے، جو کچھ میں کرتا ہوں اس کی ذمہ داری سے تم بَری ہو اور جو کچھ تم کر رہے ہو اس کی ذمہ داری سے میں بَری ہوں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And from them

أَفَأَنتَ
Are you to
تُسْمِعُ
make hear
ٱلصُّمَّ
the deaf
وَلَوْ
while it is that
كَانُوا۟
they were
لَا
not
يَعْقِلُونَ
who use their intelligence?
١٠
٤٢
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَ ۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ And from them some who hear to you. Are you to make hear the deaf while it is that they were not who use their intelligence?

And of them are some who listen unto thee. But canst thou make the deaf to hear even though they apprehend not? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

There are some of them who prick up their ears at you. But can you make the deaf hear even if they do not exercise their reason? - Qarai, Ali Quli

Some of them will listen to you, but are you supposed to make the deaf hear even if they have no understanding? - Sarwar, Muhammad

And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand? - Shakir, Habib

Are you to

give directions to
ٱلْعُمْىَ
the blind,
وَلَوْ
while it is that
كَانُوا۟
they are
لَا
not
يُبْصِرُونَ
who have vision.
And from them are some who look at you. Are you to give directions to the blind, while it is that they are not who have vision.

And of them is he who looketh toward thee. But canst thou guide the blind even though they see not? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

There are some of them who observe you. But can you guide the blind even if they do not perceive? - Qarai, Ali Quli

Some of them will look at you, but are you supposed to guide the blind even if they have no vision? - Sarwar, Muhammad

Some of them look fixedly at you; but can you make the blind see, bereft as they are of sight? - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ان میں کچھ ہیں جو آپ کی طرف دیکھ رہے ہیں تو کیا آپ اندھوں کو بھی ہدایت دے سکتے ہیں چاہے وہ کچھ نہ دیکھ پاتے ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
the One

يَظْلِمُ
does injustice to
ٱلنَّاسَ
the populace
شَيْـًۭٔا
of a thing,
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but rather
ٱلنَّاسَ
the populace
أَنفُسَهُمْ
themselves are
يَظْلِمُونَ
the unjust ones.
Indeed the One not does injustice to the populace of a thing, but rather the populace themselves are the unjust ones.

Lo! Allah wrongeth not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed Allah does not wrong people in the least; rather, it is people who wrong themselves. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
God does not do the least bit of injustice to anyone but people wrong themselves. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Surely Allah does not do any injustice to men, but men are unjust to themselves. - Shakir, Habib

Surely, God does not wrong people at all, but people wrong themselves. - Wahiduddin Khan

اللہ انسانوں پر ذرّہ برابر ظلم نہیں کرتا ہے بلکہ انسان خود ہی اپنے اوپر ظلم کیا کرتے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

And on day
يَحْشُرُهُمْ
they will be collected,
كَأَن
(it would be as if it) was
لَّمْ

يَلْبَثُوٓا۟
they were ocupied
إِلَّا
except
سَاعَةًۭ
an hour
مِّنَ
from
ٱلنَّهَارِ
the day-burst,
يَتَعَارَفُونَ
getting to know each other
بَيْنَهُمْ
amongst themselves;
ۚ
قَدْ
certainly
خَسِرَ
lost
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَذَّبُوا۟
contradicted
بِلِقَآءِ
regarding meeting
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَمَا
and not
كَانُوا۟
they were
مُهْتَدِينَ
guided ones.
١٠
٤٥
وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلنَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ And on day they will be collected, (it would be as if it) was not they were ocupied except an hour from the day-burst, getting to know each other amongst themselves; certainly lost the ones who contradicted regarding meeting the One and not they were guided ones.

And on the day when He shall gather them together, (when it will seem) as though they had tarried but an hour of the day, recognising one another, those will verily have perished who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

On the day He will gather them [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] except for an hour of the day getting acquainted with one another. They are certainly losers who deny the encounter with Allah, and they are not guided. - Qarai, Ali Quli

On the day when they will be resurrected, their worldly life will seem to them only as an hour of a day and they all will recognize each other. Those who called the receiving of mercy from God a lie are certainly lost. They did not have the right guidance. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. - Shakir, Habib

And on the Day when He shall gather them together, it will seem to them as if they had not tarried in the world longer than an hour of a day. They will recognize one another; lost indeed will be those who considered it a lie that they were destined to meet God, and did not follow the right path. - Wahiduddin Khan

جس دن خدا ان سب کو محشور کرے گا اس طرح کہ جیسے دنیا میں صرف ایک ساعت ٹھہرے ہوں اور وہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو پہچانتے ہوں گے یقیناجن لوگوں نے خدا کی ملاقات کا انکار کیا ہے وہ خسارہ میں رہے اور ہدایت یافتہ نہیں ہوسکے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(آج یہ دُنیا کی زندگی میں مست ہیں) اور جس روز اللہ اِن کو اکٹھا کرے گا تو (یہی دُنیا کی زندگی اِنہیں ایسی محسُوس ہوگی) گویا یہ محض ایک گھڑی بھر آپس میں جان پہچان کرنے کو ٹھیرے تھے (اس وقت تحقیق ہو جائے گا کہ) فی الواقع سخت گھاٹے میں رہے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اللہ کی ملاقات کو جھٹلایا اور ہرگز وہ راہِ راست پر نہ تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جس دن انہیں اٹھائے گا گویا دنیا میں نہ رہے تھے مگر اس دن کی ایک گھڑی آپس میں پہچان کریں گے کہ پورے گھاٹے میں رہے وہ جنہوں نے اللہ سے ملنے کو جھٹلایا اور ہدایت پر نہ تھے - Ahmed Raza

جس دن اللہ لوگوں کو اپنی بارگاہ میں جمع کرے گا (اس دن انہیں ایسا معلوم ہوگا کہ) جیسے دن کی ایک گھڑی آپس میں جان پہچان کے لئے ٹھہرے ہوں۔ بے شک وہ لوگ گھاٹے میں ہیں جنہوں نے (مرنے کے بعد) خدا کی بارگاہ میں حضوری کو جھٹلایا اور وہ ہدایت یافتہ نہیں تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Say: I have no power to hurt or benefit myself, save that which Allah willeth. For every nation there is an appointed time. When their time cometh, then they cannot put it off an hour, nor hasten (it). - Pickthall, Marmaduke
