Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

پھر جب یہ محترم مہینے گزر جائیں تو کفاّر کو جہاں پاؤ قتل کردو اور گرفت میں لے لو اور قید کردو اور ہر راستہ اور گزر گاہ پر ان کے لئے بیٹھ جاؤ اور راستہ تنگ کردو -پھر اگر توبہ کرلیں اور نماز قائم کریں اور زکوِٰادا کریں تو ان کا راستہ چھوڑ دو کہ خدا بڑا بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پس جب حرام مہینے گزر جائیں تو مشرکین کو قتل کرو جہاں پاؤ اور انہیں پکڑو اور گھیرو اور ہر گھات میں اُن کی خبر لینے کے لیے بیٹھو پھر اگر وہ توبہ کر لیں اور نماز قائم کریں اور زکوٰۃ دیں تو انہیں چھوڑ دو اللہ درگزر کرنے والا اور رحم فرمانے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر جب حرمت والے مہینے نکل جائیں تو مشرکوں کو مارو جہاں پا ؤ اور انہیں پکڑو اور قید کرو اور ہر جگہ ان کی تاک میں بیٹھو پھر اگر وہ توبہ کریں اور نماز قائم رکھیں اور زکوٰة دیں تو ان کی راہ چھوڑ دو بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے، - Ahmed Raza

And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a folk who know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If any of the polytheists seeks asylum from you, grant him asylum until he hears the Word of Allah. Then convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور اگر مشرکین میں سے کوئی شخص پناہ مانگ کر تمہارے پاس آنا چاہے (تاکہ اللہ کا کلام سنے) تو اُسے پناہ دے دو یہاں تک کہ وہ اللہ کا کلام سن لے پھر اُسے اس کے مامن تک پہنچا دو یہ اس لیے کرنا چاہیے کہ یہ لوگ علم نہیں رکھتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

How can there be a treaty with Allah and with His messenger for the idolaters save those with whom ye made a treaty at the Inviolable Place of Worship? So long as they are true to you, be true to them. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

How shall the polytheists have any [valid] treaty with Allah and His Apostle?! (Barring those with whom you made a treaty at the Holy Mosque; so long as they are steadfast with you, be steadfast with them. Indeed Allah loves the Godwary.) - Qarai, Ali Quli

كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا۟ فِيكُمْ إِلًّۭا وَلَا ذِمَّةًۭ ۚ يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

How (can there be any treaty for the others) when, if they have the upper hand of you, they regard not pact nor honour in respect of you? They satisfy you with their mouths the while their hearts refuse. And most of them are wrongdoers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

How? For if, they get the better of you, they will observe toward you neither kinship nor covenant. They please you with their mouths while their hearts spurn you; and most of them are transgressors. - Qarai, Ali Quli

How could God and His Messenger grant them (pagans) peace when if they were to acquire superiority over you, they would respect none of the peace treaties nor their kindred relations with you! They only try to please you by paying lip-service to you but their hearts are against you and most of them are evil-doers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

How (can it be)! while if they prevail against you, they would not pay regard in your case to ties of relationship, nor those of covenant; they please you with their mouths while their hearts do not consent; and most of them are transgressors. - Shakir, Habib

ان کے ساتھ کس طرح رعایت کی جائے جب کہ یہ تم پر غالب آجائیں تو نہ کسی ہمسائگی اور قرابت کی نگرانی کریں گے اور نہ کوئی عہد و پیمان دیکھیں گے - یہ تو صرف زبانی تم کو خوش کررہے ہیں ورنہ ان کا دل قطعی منکر ہے اور ان کی اکثریت فاسق اور بدعہد ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

مگر اِن کے سوا دوسرے مشرکین کے ساتھ کوئی عہد کیسے ہوسکتا ہے جبکہ اُن کا حال یہ ہے کہ تم پر قابو پا جائیں تو نہ تمہارے معاملہ میں کسی قرابت کا لحاظ کریں نہ کسی معاہدہ کی ذمہ داری کا وہ اپنی زبانوں سے تم کو راضی کرنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں مگر دل ان کے انکار کرتے ہیں اور ان میں سے اکثر فاسق ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بھلا کیونکر ان کا حال تو یہ ہے کہ تم پر قابو پائیں تو نہ قرابت کا لحاظ کریں نہ عہد کا، اپنے منہ سے تمہیں راضی کرتے ہیں اور ان کے دلوں میں انکار ہے اور ان میں اکثر بے حکم ہیں - Ahmed Raza

(ان کے سوا دوسرے) مشرکین سے کس طرح کوئی معاہدہ ہو سکتا ہے؟ حالانکہ اگر وہ تم پر غلبہ پا جائیں تو وہ تمہارے بارے میں نہ کسی قرابت کا پاس کریں اور نہ کسی عہد و پیمان کی ذمہ داری کا۔ وہ صرف تمہیں اپنے منہ (کی باتوں) سے راضی کرنا چاہتے ہیں اور ان کے دل انکار کرتے ہیں۔ اور ان میں سے زیادہ تر لوگ فاسق (نافرمان) ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

They have purchased with the revelations of Allah a little gain, so they debar (men) from His way. Lo! evil is that which they are wont to do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ
then (they are) your brothers

وَنُفَصِّلُ
and We detail
ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ
the signs
لِقَوْمٍۢ
for a people
يَعْلَمُونَ
who know.

١١
فَإِن تَابُوا۟ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ ۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَعْلَمُونَ Then if they turn back and establish the order and produce the Emancipation / Prosperity / Freedom then (they are) your brothers in the governance system; and We detail the signs for a people who know.

But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَإِن نَّكَثُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا۟ فِى دِينِكُمْ فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟ أَئِمَّةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ ۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَآ أَيْمَٰنَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنتَهُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And if they break their pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding oaths - in order that they may desist. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But if they break their pledges after their having made a treaty and revile your religion, then fight the leaders of unfaith—indeed, they have no [commitment to] pledges,—maybe they will desist. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Fight against the leaders of the unbelievers if they violate their established peace treaty with you and revile your faith, to force them to stop their aggression against you. You do not have to bind yourselves to such a treaty. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور اگر عہد کرنے کے بعد یہ پھر اپنی قسموں کو توڑ ڈالیں اور تمہارے دین پر حملے کرنے شروع کر دیں تو کفر کے علمبرداروں سے جنگ کرو کیونکہ ان کی قسموں کا اعتبار نہیں شاید کہ (پھر تلوار ہی کے زور سے) وہ باز آئیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Will ye not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you first? What! Fear ye them? Now Allah hath more right that ye should fear Him, if ye are believers - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Will you not make war on a people who broke their pledges and resolved to expel the Apostle, and opened [hostilities] against you initially? Do you fear them? But Allah is worthier of being feared by you, should you be faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Why will you not fight against a people who have broken their peace treaty with you, have decided to expel the Messenger (from his home town), and who were the first to disregard the peace treaty? If you are true believers, you should only have fear of God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Fight them! Allah will chastise them at your hands, and He will lay them low and give you victory over them, and He will heal the breasts of folk who are believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

ان سے جنگ کرو۔ اللہ انہیں تمہارے ہاتھوں سے سزا دلوائے گا۔ اور انہیں ذلیل و خوار کرے گا اور ان کے مقابلہ میں تمہاری مدد کرے گا اور جماعتِ مؤمنین کے دلوں کو شفا دے گا (ان کے سارے دکھ دور کر دے گا)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And He will remove the anger of their hearts. Allah relenteth toward whom He will. Allah is Knower, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
