O Prophet! Say unto those captives who are in your hands: If Allah knoweth any good in your hearts He will give you better than that which hath been taken from you, and will forgive you. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And if they would betray thee, they betrayed Allah before, and He gave (thee) power over them. Allah is Knower, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But if they seek to betray you, then they have already betrayed Allah earlier, and He gave [you] power over them; and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Do not be surprised that they want to be dishonest with you; they have always been dishonest with God. However, He has power over them. God is All-knowing and All-wise. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if they intend to act unfaithfully towards you, so indeed they acted unfaithfully towards Allah before, but He gave (you) mastery over them; and Allah is Knowing, Wise. - Shakir, Habib

اور اگر یہ آپ سے خیانت کرنا چاہتے ہیں تو اس سے پہلے خدا سے خیانت کرچکے ہیں جس کے بعد خدا نے ان پر قابو عطا کردیا کہ وہ سب کچھ جاننے والا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

لیکن اگر وہ تیرے ساتھ خیانت کا ارادہ رکھتے ہیں تو اس سے پہلے وہ اللہ کے ساتھ خیانت کر چکے ہیں، چنانچہ اسی کی سزا اللہ نے انہیں دی کہ وہ تیرے قابو میں آ گئے، اللہ سب کچھ جانتا اور حکیم ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اے محبوب اگر وہ تم سے دغا چاہیں گے تو اس سے پہلے اللہ ہی کی خیانت کرچکے ہیں جس پر اس نے اتنے تمہارے قابو میں دے دیے اور اللہ جاننے والا حکمت والا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَوا۟ وَّنَصَرُوٓا۟ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍۢ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَمْ يُهَاجِرُوا۟ مَا لَكُم مِّن وَلَٰيَتِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰ يُهَاجِرُوا۟ ۚ وَإِنِ ٱسْتَنصَرُوكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٌۭ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Lo! those who believed and left their homes and strove with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allah, and those who took them in and helped them: these are protecting friends one of another. And those who believed but did not leave their homes, ye have no duty to protect them till they leave their homes; but if they seek help from you in the matter of religion then it is your duty to help (them) except against a folk between whom and you there is a treaty. Allah is Seer of what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who have believed and migrated and waged jihad with their possessions and persons in the way of Allah, and those who gave [them] shelter and help—they are heirs of one another. As for those who have believed but did not migrate, you have no heirdom in relation to them whatsoever until they migrate. Yet if they ask your help for the sake of religion, it is incumbent on you to help them, excepting against a people with whom you have a treaty; and Allah watches what you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The believers who left their homes and strove for the cause of God, through their property and in person and those who gave refuge to them and helped them will be each other's guardians. The believers who did not leave their homes are not your guardians until they too leave their homes. If they ask you for help in a religious cause, you must help them against their enemies unless their enemies have a peace treaty with you. God is Well Aware of what you do. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely those who believed and fled (their homes) and struggled hard in Allah's way with their property and their souls, and those who gave shelter and helped-- these are guardians of each other; and (as for) those who believed and did not fly, not yours is their guardianship until they fly; and if they seek aid from you in the matter of religion, aid is incumbent on you except against a people between whom and you there is a treaty, and Allah sees what you do. - Shakir, Habib

Those who have believed and migrated and struggled for God's cause with their possessions and persons, and those who have given refuge and help, are the friends and protectors of one another. But as for those who have come to believe without having migrated -- you are in no way responsible for their protection until they migrate. بیشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے ہجرت کی اور راسِ خدا میں اپنے جان و مال سے جہاد کیا اور جنہوں نے پناہ دی اور مدد کی یہ سب آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے ولی ہیں اور جن لوگوں نے ایمان اختیار کرکے ہجرت نہیں کی ان کی ولایت سے آپ کا کوئی تعلق نہیں ہے جب تک ہجرت نہ کریں اور اگر دین کے معاملہ میں تم سے مدد مانگیں تو تمہارا فرض ہے کہ مدد کردو علاوہ اس قوم کے مقابلہ کے جس سے تمہارا معاہدہ ہوچکا ہے کہ اللہ تمہارے اعمال کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جن لوگوں نے ایمان قبول کیا اور ہجرت کی اور اللہ کی راہ میں اپنی جانیں لڑائیں اور اپنے مال کھپائے، اور جن لوگوں نے ہجرت کرنے والوں کو جگہ دی اور ان کی مدد کی، وہی دراصل ایک دوسرے کے ولی ہیں رہے وہ لوگ جو ایمان تو لے آئے مگر ہجرت کر کے (دارالاسلام میں) آ نہیں گئے تو ان سے تمہارا ولایت کا کوئی تعلق نہیں ہے جب تک کہ وہ ہجرت کر کے نہ آ جائیں ہاں اگر وہ دین کے معاملہ میں تم سے مدد مانگیں تو ان کی مدد کرنا تم پر فرض ہے، لیکن کسی ایسی قوم کے خلاف نہیں جس سے تمہارا معاہدہ ہو جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اسے دیکھتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یقینا جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور ہجرت کی اور اللہ کی راہ میں اپنے مال و جان سے جہاد کیا اور جنہوں نے مہاجرین کو پناہ دی اور امداد کی یہ لوگ آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے حامی و مددگار ہیں۔ اور وہ لوگ جو ایمان تو لائے مگر ہجرت نہیں کی تو ان سے تمہارا ولایت کا کوئی تعلق نہیں ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ ہجرت کریں۔ اور اگر وہ کسی دینی معاملہ میں تم سے مدد چاہیں تو تم پر (ان کی) مدد کرنا فرض ہے۔ سوا اس صورت کے کہ یہ مدد اس قوم کے خلاف مانگیں جس سے تمہارا معاہدۂ امن ہو۔ اور تم جو کچھ کرتے ہو اللہ اسے دیکھنے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And those who disbelieve are protectors one of another - If ye do not so, there will be confusion in the land, and great corruption. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who believed and left their homes and strove for the cause of Allah, and those who took them in and helped them - these are the believers in truth. For them is pardon, and bountiful provision. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who have believed, migrated, and waged jihad in the way of Allah, and those who gave them shelter and help, it is they who are truly the faithful. For them shall be forgiveness and a noble provision. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And those who afterwards believed and left their homes and strove along with you, they are of you; and those who are akin are nearer one to another in the ordinance of Allah. Lo! Allah is Knower of all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who believed afterwards and migrated, and waged jihad along with you, they belong to you; but the blood relatives are more entitled to inherit from one another in the Book of Allah. Indeed Allah has knowledge of all things. - Qarai, Ali Quli
