And when Satan made their deeds seem fair to them and said: No-one of mankind can conquer you this day, for I am your protector. But when the armies came in sight of one another, he took flight, saying: Lo! I am guiltless of you. Lo! I see that which ye see not. Lo! I fear Allah. When Satan made their deeds seem decorous to them, and said [to the faithless], [No one shall overcome you today from among all mankind, and I will stand by you.] But when the two hosts sighted each other, he took to his heels, saying, [Indeed I am quit of you. I see what you do not see. Indeed I fear Allah, and Allah is severe in retribution.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Satan made their (pagans') deeds seem attractive to them and said to them, [No one today is more powerful than you and I am your supporter.] But when the two armies confronted one another and the pagans were defeated, then satan betrayed his friends saying, [I am not with you any more; I see what you do not see and I am afraid of God.] God is severe in His retribution. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when the Shaitan made their works fair seeming to them, and said: No one can overcome you this day, and surely I am your protector: but when the two parties came in sight of each other he turned upon his heels, and said: Surely I am clear of you, surely I see what you do not see, surely I fear Allah; and Allah is severe in requiting (evil). - Shakir, Habib

ذرا خیال کرو اس وقت کا جب کہ شیطان نے ان لوگوں کے کرتوت ان کی نگاہوں میں خوشنما بنا کر دکھائے تھے اور ان سے کہا تھا کہ آج کوئی تم پر غالب نہیں آ سکتا اور یہ کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں مگر جب دونوں گروہوں کا آمنا سامنا ہوا تو وہ اُلٹے پاؤں پھر گیا اور کہنے لگا کہ میرا تمہارا ساتھ نہیں ہے، میں وہ کچھ دیکھ رہا ہوں جو تم لوگ نہیں دیکھتے، مجھے خدا سے ڈر لگتا ہے اور خدا بڑی سخت سزا دینے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جبکہ شیطان نے ان کی نگاہ میں ان کے کام بھلے کر دکھائے اور بولا آج تم پر کوئی شخص غالب آنے والا نہیں اور تم میری پناہ میں ہو تو جب دونوں لشکر آمنے سامنے ہوئے الٹے پاؤں بھاگا اور بولا میں تم سے الگ ہوں میں وہ دیکھتا ہوں جو تمہیں نظر نہیں آتا میں اللہ سے ڈرتا ہوں اور اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے، - Ahmed Raza

When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease said: Their religion hath deluded these. Whoso putteth his trust in Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When the hypocrites said, and [also] those in whose hearts is a sickness, [Their religion has deceived them.] But whoever puts his trust in Allah, then Allah is indeed all-mighty, all-wise. - Qarai, Ali Quli

If thou couldst see how the angels receive those who disbelieve, smiting faces and their backs and (saying): Taste the punishment of burning! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Were you to see when the angels take away the faithless, striking their faces and their backs, [saying], [Taste the punishment of the burning. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Would that you could have seen the angels taking the souls of the unbelievers away from their bodies and smiting their faces and their backs saying, [Suffer the burning torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

This is for that which your own hands have sent before (to the Judgment), and (know) that Allah is not a tyrant to His slaves. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That is because of what your hands have sent ahead, and because Allah is not tyrannical to the servants.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ ۙ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِىٌّۭ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

(Their way is) as the way of Pharaoh's folk and those before them; they disbelieved the revelations of Allah, and Allah took them in their sins. Lo! Allah is Strong, severe in punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Like the precedent of Pharaoh]s clan and those who were before them, who defied Allah]s signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. Indeed Allah is all-strong, severe in retribution. - Qarai, Ali Quli

یہ معاملہ ان کے ساتھ اُسی طرح پیش آیا جس طرح آلِ فرعون اور ان سے پہلے کے دُوسرے لوگوں کے ساتھ پیش آتا رہا ہے کہ انہوں نے اللہ کی آیات کو ماننے سے انکار کیا اور اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں پر انہیں پکڑ لیا اللہ قوت رکھتا ہے اور سخت سزا دینے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

(Their way is) as the way of Pharaoh's folk and those before them; they denied the revelations of their Lord, so We destroyed them in their sins. And We drowned the folk of Pharaoh. All were evil-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those of them with whom thou madest a treaty, and then at every opportunity they break their treaty, and they keep not duty (to Allah). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
