وَإِذْ يُرِيكُمُوهُمْ إِذِ ٱلْتَقَيْتُمْ فِىٓ أَعْيُنِكُمْ قَلِيلًۭا وَيُقَلِّلُكُمْ فِىٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ لِيَقْضِىَ ٱللَّهُ أَمْرًۭا كَانَ مَفْعُولًۭا ۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when He made you (Muslims), when ye met (them), see them with your eyes as few, and lessened you in their eyes, (it was) that Allah might conclude a thing that must be done. Unto Allah all things are brought back. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when He showed them to you as few in your eyes, when you met them [on the battlefield], and He made you [appear] few in their eyes, [it was] in order that Allah may carry through a matter that was bound to be fulfilled, and to Allah all matters are returned. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When you met the pagans' army, God made them appear fewer in your eyes and you appear fewer in their eyes so that His miracle of granting you (an incredible) victory could easily be fulfilled. To God do all things return. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And obey Allah and His messenger, and dispute not one with another lest ye falter and your strength depart from you; but be steadfast! Lo! Allah is with the steadfast. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بَطَرًۭا وَرِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Be not as those who came forth from their dwellings boastfully and to be seen of men, and debar (men) from the way of Allah, while Allah is surrounding all they do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do not be like those who left their homes vainly and to show off to the people, and to bar [other people] from the way of Allah, and Allah comprehends what they do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور اُن لوگوں کے سے رنگ ڈھنگ نہ اختیار کرو جو اپنے گھروں سے اِتراتے اور لوگوں کو اپنی شان دکھاتے ہوئے نکلے اور جن کی روش یہ ہے کہ اللہ کے راستے سے روکتے ہیں جو کچھ وہ کر رہے ہیں وہ اللہ کی گرفت سے باہر نہیں ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ وَقَالَ لَا غَالِبَ لَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَإِنِّى جَارٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَرَآءَتِ ٱلْفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّنكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ مَا لَا تَرَوْنَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when Satan made their deeds seem fair to them and said: No-one of mankind can conquer you this day, for I am your protector. But when the armies came in sight of one another, he took flight, saying: Lo! I am guiltless of you. Lo! I see that which ye see not. Lo! I fear Allah. And Allah is severe in punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When Satan made their deeds seem decorous to them, and said [to the faithless], [No one shall overcome you today from among all mankind, and I will stand by you.] But when the two hosts sighted each other, he took to his heels, saying, [Indeed I am quit of you. I see what you do not see. Indeed I fear Allah, and Allah is severe in retribution.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Satan made their (pagans') deeds seem attractive to them and said to them, [No one today is more powerful than you and I am your supporter.] But when the two armies confronted one another and the pagans were defeated, then satan betrayed his friends saying, [I am not with you any more; I see what you do not see and I am afraid of God.] God is severe in His retribution. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when the Shaitan made their works fair seeming to them, and said: No one can overcome you this day, and surely I am your protector: but when the two parties came in sight of each other he turned upon his heels, and said: Surely I am clear of you, surely I see what you do not see, surely I fear Allah; and Allah is severe in requiting (evil). - Shakir, Habib

ذرا خیال کرو اس وقت کا جب کہ شیطان نے ان لوگوں کے کرتوت ان کی نگاہوں میں خوشنما بنا کر دکھائے تھے اور ان سے کہا تھا کہ آج کوئی تم پر غالب نہیں آ سکتا اور یہ کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں مگر جب دونوں گروہوں کا آمنا سامنا ہوا تو وہ اُلٹے پاؤں پھر گیا اور کہنے لگا کہ میرا تمہارا ساتھ نہیں ہے، میں وہ کچھ دیکھ رہا ہوں جو تم لوگ نہیں دیکھتے، مجھے خدا سے ڈر لگتا ہے اور خدا بڑی سخت سزا دینے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور وہ وقت یاد کرو جب شیطان نے ان کے اعمال ان کے لئے آراستہ کر دیئے (انہیں خوشنما کرکے دکھایا) اور کہا آج کے دن لوگوں میں سے کوئی بھی تم پر غالب آنے والا نہیں ہے۔ اور میں تمہارا حامی ہوں۔ پھر جب دونوں جماعتیں آمنے سامنے ہوئیں تو وہ الٹے پاؤں واپس ہوا اور کہا میں تم سے بری الذمہ ہوں۔ میں وہ کچھ دیکھ رہا ہوں جو تم نہیں دیکھ رہے میں اللہ سے ڈرتا ہوں۔ اور اللہ بڑی سخت سزا دینے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease said: Their religion hath deluded these. Whoso putteth his trust in Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If thou couldst see how the angels receive those who disbelieve, smiting faces and their backs and (saying): Taste the punishment of burning! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Were you to see when the angels take away the faithless, striking their faces and their backs, [saying], [Taste the punishment of the burning. - Qarai, Ali Quli

This is for that which your own hands have sent before (to the Judgment), and (know) that Allah is not a tyrant to His slaves. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

(Their way is) as the way of Pharaoh's folk and those before them; they disbelieved the revelations of Allah, and Allah took them in their sins. Lo! Allah is Strong, severe in punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Like the precedent of Pharaoh]s clan and those who were before them, who defied Allah]s signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. Indeed Allah is all-strong, severe in retribution. - Qarai, Ali Quli

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًۭا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ ۙ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That is because Allah never changeth the grace He hath bestowed on any people until they first change that which is in their hearts, and (that is) because Allah is Hearer, Knower. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

یہ اللہ کی اِس سنت کے مطابق ہوا کہ وہ کسی نعمت کو جو اس نے کسی قوم کو عطا کی ہو اس وقت تک نہیں بدلتا جب تک کہ وہ قوم خود اپنے طرزِ عمل کو نہیں بدل دیتی اللہ سب کچھ سننے اور جاننے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

(Their way is) as the way of Pharaoh's folk and those before them; they denied the revelations of their Lord, so We destroyed them in their sins. And We drowned the folk of Pharaoh. All were evil-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
