He said: Terror and wrath from your Lord have already fallen on you. Would ye wrangle with me over names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which no warrant from Allah hath been revealed? Then await (the consequence), lo! I (also) am of those awaiting (it). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Punishment and wrath from your Lord has become due against you. Do you dispute with me regarding names, which you have named—you and your fathers—for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait! I too am waiting along with you.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

اس نے کہا ——تمہارے رب کی پھٹکار تم پر پڑ گئی اور اس کا غضب ٹوٹ پڑا کیا تم مجھ سے اُن ناموں پر جھگڑتے ہو جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے رکھ لیے ہیں، جن کے لیے اللہ نے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی ہے اچھا تو تم بھی انتظار کرو اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرتا ہوں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اس (ہود) نے کہا (سمجھ لو کہ) تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم پر عذاب اور غضب نازل ہوگیا ہے کیا تم مجھ سے ایسے ناموں کے بارے میں جھگڑتے ہو جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے (از خود) رکھ لئے ہیں۔ جن کے متعلق اللہ نے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی۔ اچھا تو پھر تم (خدا کے عذاب کا) انتظار کرو مَیں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں سے ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ۖ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut the root of those who denied Our revelations and were not believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then We delivered him and those who were with him by a mercy from Us, and We rooted out those who denied Our signs and were not faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And to (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. A wonder from your Lord hath come unto you. Lo! this is the camel of Allah, a token unto you; so let her feed in Allah's earth, and touch her not with hurt lest painful torment seize you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And to [the people of] Thamud [We sent] Salih, their brother. He said, [O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. There has certainly come to you a manifest proof from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign for you. Let her alone to graze [freely] in Allah]s land, and do not cause her any harm, for then you shall be seized by a painful punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent Salih to his brethren, the tribe of Thamud, who told them, [Worship God your only Lord. Authoritative evidence has come to you from your Lord and this she-camel is the evidence for you from God. Let her graze in the land of God. Do not give her any trouble lest a painful torment will strike you. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. - Shakir, Habib

To the Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said, [O my people, worship God; you have no other god but Him. A veritable proof has come to you from your Lord: this is God's she-camel, a sign for you, so let her feed in God's land and do not harm her in any way, or you will be overwhelmed by a painful punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے قوم ثمود علیھ السّلام کی طرف ان کے بھائی صالح علیھ السّلامکو بھیجا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اے قوم والو اللہ کی عبادت کرو کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے -تمہارے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے دلیل آچکی ہے -یہ خدائی ناقہ ہے جو تمہارے لئے اس کی نشانی ہے -اسے آزاد چھوڑ دو کہ زمینِ خدا میں کھاتا پھرے اور خبردار اسے کوئی تکلیف نہ پہنچانا کہ تم کو عذاب الیم اپنی گرفت میں لے لے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور ثمود کی طرف ہم نے اُن کے بھائی صالحؑ کو بھیجا اس نے کہا ——اے برادران قوم، اللہ کی بندگی کرو، اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی کھلی دلیل آ گئی ہے یہ اللہ کی اونٹنی تمہارے لیے ایک نشانی کے طور پر ہے، لہٰذا اسے چھوڑ دو کہ خدا کی زمین میں چرتی پھرے اس کو کسی برے ارادے سے ہاتھ نہ لگانا ورنہ ایک درد ناک عذاب تمہیں آ لے گا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ثمود کی طرف ان کی برادری سے صالح کو بھیجا کہا اے میری قوم اللہ کو پوجو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں، بیشک تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے روشن دلیل آئی یہ اللہ کا ناقہ ہے تمہارے لیے نشانی، تو اسے چھوڑ دو کہ اللہ کی زمین میں کھائے اور اسے برائی سے ہاتھ نہ لگاؤ کہ تمہیں درد ناک عذاب آئے گا، - Ahmed Raza

اور قومِ ثمود کی طرف ان کے (قومی) بھائی صالح کو بھیجا۔ انہوں نے کہا اے میری قوم! اللہ ہی کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے (میری صداقت کا) ایک خاص معجزہ آچکا ہے جو یہ اللہ کی خاص اونٹنی ہے جو تمہارے لئے ایک (قدرتی) نشانی (معجزہ) ہے اسے کھلا چھوڑ دو کہ خدا کی زمین میں چَرتی پھرے۔ اور (خبردار) اسے برے ارادے سے ہاتھ نہ لگانا (اسے تکلیف نہ پہنچانا) ورنہ دردناک عذاب تمہیں اپنی گرفت میں لے لے گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍۢ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًۭا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًۭا ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And remember how He made you viceroys after A'ad and gave you station in the earth. Ye choose castles in the plains and hew the mountains into dwellings. So remember (all) the bounties of Allah and do not evil, making mischief in the earth. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Remember when He made you successors after [the people of] [Ad, and settled you in the land: you build palaces in its plains, and hew houses out of the mountains. So remember Allah]s bounties, and do not act wickedly on the earth, causing corruption.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Recall (the time) when We settled you in the land as the heirs of the tribe of Ad and how you established mansions in the plains and carved homes out of the mountains. Give thanks to God for His favors and do not commit evil in the land.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And remember when He made you successors after Ad and settled you in the land-- you make mansions on its plains and hew out houses in the mountains-- remember therefore Allah's benefits and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief. - Shakir, Habib

اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب اس نے تم کو قوم عاد علیھ السّلام کے بعد جانشین بنایا اور زمین میںاس طرح بسایا کہ تم ہموار زمینوں میں قصر بناتے تھے اور پہاڑوں کو کاٹ کاٹ کر گھر بناتے تھے تو اب اللہ کی نعمتوں کو یاد کرو اور زمین میں فساد نہ پھیلاتے پھرو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یاد کرو وہ وقت جب اللہ نے قوم عاد کے بعد تمہیں اس کا جانشین بنایا اور تم کو زمین میں یہ منزلت بخشی کہ تم اُس کے ہموار میدانوں میں عالی شان محل بناتے اور اس کے پہاڑوں کو مکانات کی شکل میں تراشتے ہو پس اس کی قدرت کے کرشموں سے غافل نہ ہو جاؤ اور زمین میں فساد برپا نہ کرو—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

The chieftains of his people, who were scornful, said unto those whom they despised, unto such of them as believed: Know ye that Salih is one sent from his Lord? They said: Lo! In that wherewith he hath been sent we are believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The elite of his people who were arrogant said to those who were oppressed—to those among them who had faith—[Do you know that Salih has been sent by his Lord?] They said, [We indeed believe in what he has been sent with.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The proud ones among Salih's people asked his oppressed followers, [Do you (really) know that Salih is a Messenger of his Lord?] They replied, [We have faith in the Message which he preaches]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

So they hamstrung the she-camel, and they flouted the commandment of their Lord, and they said: O Salih! Bring upon us that thou threatenest if thou art indeed of those sent (from Allah). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So they hamstrung the She-camel and defied the command of their Lord, and they said, [O Salih, bring us what you threaten us with, if you are one of the apostles.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They then slew the camel and rebelled against the orders of their Lord saying, [ Salih, if you are truly a Messenger, let that torment with which you have threatened us come to pass.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So they slew the she-camel and revolted against their Lord's commandment, and they said: O Salih! bring us what you threatened us with, if you are one of the apostles. - Shakir, Habib

So they hamstrung the she-camel, and insolently defied the commandment of their Lord, saying, [O Salih! Bring upon us what you threaten us with if you are indeed a messenger.] - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر یہ کہہ کر ناقہ کے پاؤں کاٹ دئیے اور حکم خدا سے سرتابی کی اور کہا کہ صالح علیھ السّلاماگر تم خدا کے رسول ہو تو جس عذاب کی دھمکی دے رہے تھے اسے لے آؤ - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر انہوں نے اس اونٹنی کو مار ڈالا اور پورے تمرد کے ساتھ اپنے رب کے حکم کی خلاف ورزی کر گزرے، اور صالحؑ سے کہہ دیا کہ لے آ وہ عذاب جس کی تو ہمیں دھمکی دیتا ہے اگر تو واقعی پیغمبروں میں سے ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And (Salih) turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord's message unto you and gave you good advice, but ye love not good advisers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So he abandoned them [to their fate], and said, [O my people! Certainly I communicated to you the message of my Lord, and I was your well-wisher, but you did not like well-wishers.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

He turned away from them saying, [My people, I preached the Message of my Lord to you and gave you good advice, but you do not love advisors.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Then he turned away from them and said: O my people I did certainly deliver to you the message of my Lord, and I gave you good advice, but you do not love those who give good advice. - Shakir, Habib

He left them, saying, [My people, I delivered my Lord's messages to you and counselled you sincerely, but you do not like sincere advisors.] - Wahiduddin Khan

تو اس کے بعد صالح علیھ السّلامنے ان سے منہ پھیر لیا اور کہا کہ اے قوم میں نے خدائی پیغام کو پہنچایا تم کو نصیحت کی مگر افسوس کہ تم نصیحت کرنے والوں کو دوست نہیں رکھتے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور صالحؑ یہ کہتا ہوا ان کی بستیوں سے نکل گیا کہ ——اے میری قوم، میں نے اپنے رب کا پیغام تجھے پہنچا دیا اور میں نے تیری بہت خیر خواہی کی، مگر میں کیا کروں کہ تجھے اپنے خیر خواہ پسند ہی نہیں ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو صالح نے ان سے منہ پھیرا اور کہا اے میری قوم! بیشک میں نے تمہیں اپنے رب کی رسالت پہنچادی اور تمہارا بھلا چاہا مگر تم خیر خواہوں کے غرضی (پسند کرنے والے) ہی نہیں، - Ahmed Raza

And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And Lot, when he said to his people, [What! Do you commit an outrage none in the world ever committed before you?! - Qarai, Ali Quli

Lot told his people, [Why do you commit such indecent acts that have never been committed by anyone before? - Sarwar, Muhammad

And (We sent) Lut when he said to his people: What! do you commit an indecency which any one in the world has not done before you? - Shakir, Habib

We sent Lot, who said to his people, [How can you commit an abomination such as no one in the world has ever done before you? - Wahiduddin Khan

وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًۭا ۗ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And unto Midian (We sent) their brother, Shu'eyb. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! a clear proof hath come unto you from your Lord; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not mankind in their goods, and work not confusion in the earth after the fair ordering thereof. That will be better for you, if ye are believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And to [the people of] Midian [We sent] Shu[ayb, their brother. He said, [O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. There has certainly come to you a manifest proof from your Lord. Observe fully the measure and the balance, and do not cheat the people of their goods, and do not cause corruption on the earth after its restoration. That is better for you, if you are faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent to the people of Midian their brother Shu'ayb who also told his people to worship God their only Lord. He said, [A guidance has come to you from your Lord. Maintain proper measures and weights in trade. Do not cause any deficiency in people's property or destroy the land after it has been reformed. This is for your own good, if you have any faith. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And to Madyan (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord, therefore give full measure and weight and do not diminish to men their things, and do not make mischief in the land after its reform; this is better for you if you are believers: - Shakir, Habib

To Midian We sent their brother Shu'ayb. He said, [O my people, worship God; you have no other god but Him. A clear Sign has indeed come to you from your Lord. So give full measure and full weight, and do not deliver short. Do not corrupt the land after it has been set in order. This is for your own good, if you are true believers. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے قوم مدین کی طرف ان کے بھائی شعیب علیھ السّلامکو بھیجا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اللہ کی عبادت کرو کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے - تمہارے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے دلیل آچکی ہے اب ناپ تول کو پورا پورا رکھو اور لوگوں کو چیزیں کم نہ دو اور اصلاح کے بعد زمین میں فساد برپا نہ کرو -یہی تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے اگر تم ایمان لانے والے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور مدین والوں کی طرف ہم نے ان کے بھائی شعیبؑ کو بھیجا اس نے کہا ——اے برادران قوم، اللہ کی بندگی کرو، اُس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی صاف رہنمائی آ گئی ہے، لہٰذا وزن اور پیمانے پورے کرو، لوگوں کو اُن کی چیزوں میں گھاٹا نہ دو، اور زمین میں فساد برپا نہ کرو جب کہ اس کی اصلاح ہو چکی ہے، اسی میں تمہاری بھلائی ہے اگر تم واقعی مومن ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور مدین کی طرف ان کی برادری سے شعیب کو بھیجا کہا اے میری قوم! اللہ کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں، بے شک تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے روشن دلیل آئی تو ناپ اور تول پوری کرو اور لوگوں کی چیزیں گھٹا کر نہ دو اور زمین میں انتظام کے بعد فساد نہ پھیلاؤ، یہ تمہارا بھلا ہے اگر ایمان لاؤ، - Ahmed Raza
