قَالَ

خَلَتْ

قَبْلِكُم

ٱلْجِنِّ

وَٱلْإِنسِ

فِى

ٱلنَّارِ

كُلَّمَا

[untranslated]

دَخَلَتْ

أُمَّةٌۭ

لَّعَنَتْ

أُخْتَهَا

[untranslated]

حَتَّىٰٓ

إِذَا

ٱدَّارَكُوا۟

فِيهَا

جَمِيعًۭا

قَالَتْ

أُخْرَىٰهُمْ

لِأُولَىٰهُمْ

رَبَّنَا

[untranslated]

هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ

أَضَلُّونَا

[untranslated]

فَـَٔاتِهِمْ

[untranslated]

عَذَابًۭا

[untranslated]

ضِعْفًۭا

[untranslated]

مِّنَ

[untranslated]

ٱلنَّارِ

قَالَ

لِكُلٍّۢ

ضِعْفٌۭ

وَلَٰكِن

لَّا

[untranslated]

تَعْلَمُونَ

[untranslated]

٣٨

قَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ فِىٓ أُمَمٍۢ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌۭ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ فِيهَا جَمِيعًۭا قَالَتْ أُخْرَىٰهُمْ لِأُولَىٰهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَـَٔاتِهِمْ عَذَابًۭا ضِعْفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّۢ ضِعْفٌۭ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ

⦿

He saith: Enter into the Fire among nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before you. Every time a nation entereth, it curseth its sister (nation) till, when they have all been made to follow one another thither, the last of them saith unto the first of them: Our Lord! These led us astray, so give them double torment of the Fire. He saith: For each one there is double (torment), but ye know not.

⦿

He will say, [Enter the Fire, along with the nations of jinn and humans who passed before you!] Every time that a nation enters [hell], it will curse its sister [nation]. When they all rejoin in it, the last of them will say about the first of them, [Our Lord, it was they who led us astray; so give them a double punishment of the Fire.] He will say, [It is double for each [of you], but you do not know.]

⦿

(On the Day of Judgment) the Lord will say to them, [Join the group of jinn and people who lived before you, in hell.] Each group, on entering hell, will curse the other dwellers, until all of them are brought together therein. The last group will accuse the first saying, [Lord, they made us go astray. Therefore, double their torment in the Fire.] The Lord will reply, [For everyone of you there is a double torment, but you do not know it].

He will say: Enter into fire among the nations that have passed away before you from among jinn and men; whenever a nation shall enter, it shall curse its sister, until when they have all come up with one another into it; the last of them shall say with regard to the foremost of them: Our Lord! these led us astray therefore give them a double chastisement of the fire. He will say: Every one shall have double but you do not know.

God will say, [Enter the Fire and join the bands of jinn and men that have gone before you.] Every time a host enters [the fire], it will curse its fellow-host, then, when they are all gathered there, the last of them will say of the first, [Our Lord, it was they who led us astray: give them double punishment in the Fire,] -- God will say, [Every one of you will have double punishment, though you do not know it] --

ارشاد ہوگا کہ تم سے پہلے جو جن و انس کی مجرم جماعتیں گزر چکی ہیں تم بھی انہی کے ساتھ جہّنم میں داخل ہوجاؤ-حالت یہ ہوگی کہ ہر داخل ہونے والی جماعت دوسری پر لعنت کرے گی اور جب سب اکٹھا ہوجائیں گے تو بعد والے پہلے والوں کے بارے میں کہیں گے کہ پروردگار ا ن ہی نے ہمیں گمراہ کیا ہے لہٰذا ان کے عذاب کو دوگنا کردے -ارشاد ہوگا کہ سب کا عذاب دوگنا ہے صرف تمہیں معلوم نہیں ہے

اللہ فرمائے گا جاؤ، تم بھی اسی جہنم میں چلے جاؤ جس میں تم سے پہلے گزرے ہوئے گروہ جن و انس جا چکے ہیں ہر گروہ جب جہنم میں داخل ہوگا تو اپنے پیش رو گروہ پر لعنت کرتا ہوا داخل ہوگا، حتیٰ کہ جب سب وہاں جمع ہو جائیں گے تو ہر بعد والا گروہ پہلے گروہ کے حق میں کہے گا کہ اے رب، یہ لوگ تھے جنہوں نے ہم کو گمراہ کیا لہٰذا انہیں آگ کا دوہرا عذاب دے جواب میں ارشاد ہوگا، ہر ایک کے لیے دوہرا ہی عذاب ہے مگر تم جانتے نہیں ہو

⦿

اللہ ان سے فرماتا ہے کہ تم سے پہلے جو اور جماعتیں جن اور آدمیوں کی آگ میں گئیں، انہیں میں جاؤ جب ایک گروہ داخل ہوتا ہے دوسرے پر لعنت کرتا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب سب اس میں جا پڑے تو پچھلے پہلوں کو کہیں گے اے رب ہمارے! انہوں نے ہم کو بہکایا تھا تو انہیں آگ کا دُونا عذاب دے، فرمائے گا سب کو دُونا ہے مگر تمہیں خبر نہیں

ارشاد ہوگا تم بھی اسی جہنم میں داخل ہو جاؤ جس میں تم سے پہلے گزرے ہوئے جن و انس کے گروہ داخل ہو چکے ہیں (اور) جب بھی کوئی (جہنم میں) داخل ہوگا تو اپنے ساتھ (پیش رو) گروہ پر لعنت کرے گا۔ یہاں تک کہ جب سب وہاں جمع ہو جائیں گے (سب واصلِ جہنم ہو جائیں گے) تو بعد والا گروہ پہلے گروہ کے بارے میں کہے گا اے پروردگار! انہوں نے ہمیں گمراہ کیا تھا اس لئے انہیں دوزخ کا دوگنا عذاب دے۔ ارشاد ہوگا ہر ایک کے لئے دونا عذاب ہے لیکن تم جانتے نہیں ہو۔

وَقَالَتْ

عَلَيْنَا

فَضْلٍۢ

فَذُوقُوا۟

ٱلْعَذَابَ

بِمَا

كُنتُمْ

[untranslated]

تَكْسِبُونَ

٣٩

وَقَالَتْ أُولَىٰهُمْ لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۢ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

And the first of them saith unto the last of them: Ye were no whit better than us, so taste the doom for what ye used to earn.

⦿

And the first of them will say to the last of them, [You have no merit over us! So taste the punishment because of what you used to earn.]

The first will then say, [You are no better than us; suffer the torment as the result of your deeds.

And the foremost of them will say to the last of them: So you have no preference over us; therefore taste the chastisement for what you earned.

then the preceding one will say to the succeeding one: you are no better than us: so taste the punishment you have earned.]

پھر پہلے والے بعد والوں سے کہیں گے کہ تمہیں ہمارے اوپر کوئی فضیلت نہیں ہے لہذا اپنے کئے کا عذاب چکھو

اور پہلا گروہ دوسرے گروہ سے کہے گا کہ (اگر ہم قابل الزام تھے) تو تمہی کو ہم پر کونسی فضیلت حاصل تھی، اب اپنی کمائی کے نتیجہ میں عذاب کا مزا چکھو

⦿

اور پہلے پچھلوں سے کہیں گے تو تم کچھ ہم سے اچھے نہ رہے تو چکھو عذاب بدلہ اپنے کیے کا

⦿

اور ان کا پہلا گروہ دوسرے گروہ سے کہے گا۔ کہ (اگر ہم مستوجبِ الزام تھے) تو پھر تم کو ہم پر کوئی فضیلت تو نہ ہوئی؟ بس (ہماری طرح) تم بھی اپنے کئے کی پاداش میں عذاب کا مزہ چکھو۔

عَنْهَا

تُفَتَّحُ

لَهُمْ

أَبْوَٰبُ

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

وَلَا

يَدْخُلُونَ

ٱلْجَنَّةَ

حَتَّىٰ

يَلِجَ

ٱلْجَمَلُ

فِى

سَمِّ

ٱلْخِيَاطِ

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

نَجْزِى

ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

٤٠

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

⦿

Lo! they who deny Our revelations and scorn them, for them the gates of heaven will nor be opened not will they enter the Garden until the camel goeth through the needle's eye. Thus do We requite the guilty.

⦿

Indeed, those who deny Our signs and are disdainful of them—the gates of the heaven will not be opened for them, nor shall they enter paradise until the camel passes through the needle]s eye, and thus do We requite the guilty.

⦿

For those who have rejected Our revelations out of pride, no door to the heavens will be opened, nor will they be admitted into Paradise until a camel passes through the eye of a sewing needle. Thus do We recompense the criminals.

⦿

Surely (as for) those who reject Our communications and turn away from them haughtily, the doors of heaven shall not be opened for them, nor shall they enter the garden until the camel pass through the eye of the needle; and thus do We reward the guilty.

The gates of Heaven shall not be opened for those who rejected Our signs and arrogantly spurned them; nor shall they enter Paradise until a camel shall pass through the eye of a needle. That is how We repay the evil-doers,

بیشک جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کی تکذیب کی اور غرور سے کام لیا ان کے لئے نہ آسمان کے دروازے کھولے جائیں گے اور نہ وہ جنّت میں داخل ہوسکیں گے جب تک اونٹ سوئی کے ناکہ کے اندر داخل نہ ہوجائے اور ہم اسی طرح مجرمین کو سزا دیا کرتے ہیں

⦿

یقین جانو، جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا ہے اور ان کے مقابلہ میں سرکشی کی ہے ان کے لیے آسمان کے دروازے ہرگز نہ کھولے جائیں گے اُن کا جنت میں جانا اتنا ہی ناممکن ہے جتنا سوئی کے ناکے سے اونٹ کا گزرنا مجرموں کو ہمارے ہاں ایسا ہی بدلہ ملا کرتا ہے

⦿

وہ جنہوں نے ہماری آیتیں جھٹلائیں اور ان کے مقابل تکبر کیا ان کے لیے آسمان کے دروازے نہ کھولے جائیں گے اور نہ وہ جنت میں داخل ہوں جب تک سوئی کے ناکے اونٹ داخل نہ ہو اور مجرموں کو ہم ایسا ہی بدلہ دیتے ہیں

The Customs [ 7:41 ] الأعراف

لَهُم

For them

مِّن

جَهَنَّمَ

hellfire

مِهَادٌۭ

as a bed,

وَمِن

and of

فَوْقِهِمْ

towers above them

غَوَاشٍۢ

layers upon layers;

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

and that is how

نَجْزِى

We reward

ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

the people in darkness.

٤١

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌۭ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍۢ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

For them of hellfire as a bed, and of towers above them layers upon layers; and that is how We reward the people in darkness.

⦿

Theirs will be a bed of hell, and over them coverings (of hell). Thus do We requite wrong-doers.

They shall have hell for their resting place, and over them shall be sheets [of fire], and thus do We requite the wrongdoers.

⦿

For them, hell will be both a cradle and a blanket. Thus do We punish the unjust.

They shall have a bed of hell-fire and from above them coverings (of it); and thus do We reward the unjust.

Hell shall be their bed, and over them will be coverings of fire, thus shall We reward the wrongdoers.

ان کے لئے جہّنم ہی کا فرش ہوگا اور ان کے اوپر اسی کا اوڑھنا بھی ہوگا اور ہم اسی طرح ظالموں کو ان کے اعمال کا بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں

ان کے لیے تو جہنم کا بچھونا ہوگا اور جہنم ہی کا اوڑھنا یہ ہے وہ جزا جو ہم ظالموں کو دیا کرتے ہیں

انہیں آگ ہی بچھونا اور آگ ہی اوڑھنا اور ظالموں کو ہم ایسا ہی بدلہ دیتے ہیں،

ان کا بچھونا بھی جہنم کا ہوگا اور اوپر سے اوڑھنا بھی جہنم کا ہم اسی طرح ظالموں کو بدلہ دیتے ہیں۔

The Customs [ 7:42 ] الأعراف

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And the ones who

ءَامَنُوا۟

are convinced

وَعَمِلُوا۟

and do

ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ

the constructive things

لَا

— not

نُكَلِّفُ

We charge their

نَفْسًا

psyche

إِلَّا

beyond

وُسْعَهَآ

its capacity —

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ

those are

أَصْحَٰبُ

companions of

ٱلْجَنَّةِ

the paradise;

هُمْ

they

فِيهَا

therein

خَٰلِدُونَ

will be living.

٤٢

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

And the ones who are convinced and do the constructive things — not We charge their psyche beyond its capacity — those are companions of the paradise; they therein will be living.

⦿

But (as for) those who believe and do good works - We tax not any soul beyond its scope - Such are rightful owners of the Garden. They abide therein.

As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds—We task no soul except according to its capacity—they shall be the inhabitants of paradise, and they shall remain in it [forever].

⦿

The righteously striving believers - We do not impose on any soul that which is beyond its ability - are the dwellers of Paradise wherein they will live forever.

⦿

And (as for) those who believe and do good We do not impose on any soul a duty except to the extent of its ability-- they are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.

⦿

But those who believed and did good deeds, and We do not burden any soul with more than it can bear, such are the heirs of the Garden and there they will remain forever.

اور جن لوگوں نے ایمان اختیار کیا اور نیک اعمال کئے ہم کسی نفس کو اس کی وسعت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتے وہی لوگ جنّتی ہیں اور اس میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں

بخلاف اس کے جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیات کو مان لیا ہے اور اچھے کام کیے ہیں اور اس باب میں ہم ہر ایک کو اس کی استطاعت ہی کے مطابق ذمہ دار ٹھیراتے ہیں وہ اہل جنت ہیں جہاں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے

⦿

اور وہ جو ایمان لائے اور طاقت بھر اچھے کام کیے ہم کسی پر طاقت سے زیادہ بوجھ نہیں رکھتے، وہ جنت والے ہیں، انہیں اس میں ہمیشہ رہنا،

⦿

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے ہم کسی نفس کو اس کی وسعت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتے یہی لوگ جنتی ہیں وہ اس میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے۔

أُورِثْتُمُوهَا

بِمَا

كُنتُمْ

تَعْمَلُونَ

٤٣

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۖ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ ۖ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

And We remove whatever rancour may be in their hearts. Rivers flow beneath them. And they say: The praise to Allah, Who hath guided us to this. We could not truly have been led aright if Allah had not guided us. Verily the messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth. And it is cried unto them: This is the Garden. Ye inherit it for what ye used to do.

We will remove whatever rancour there is in their breasts, and streams will run for them. They will say, [All praise belongs to Allah, who guided us to this. We would have never been guided had not Allah guided us. Our Lord]s apostles had certainly brought the truth.] And the call would be made to them: [This is paradise, which you have been given to inherit because of what you used to do!]

We shall remove all grudges from their hearts. They will enjoy the flowing streams in the garden and will say, [God who guided us to this, deserves all praise. Had He not guided us, we would never have been able to find the right direction. The (angelic) Messengers of our Lord came to us with the Truth.] They shall be told, 'This is the Paradise which you have inherited because of your good deeds.]

And We will remove whatever of ill-feeling is in their breasts; the rivers shall flow beneath them and they shall say: All praise is due to Allah Who guided us to this, and we would not have found the way had it not been that Allah had guided us; certainly the apostles of our Lord brought the truth; and it shall be cried out to them that this is the garden of which you are made heirs for what you did.

ان کے دلوں میں ایک دوسرے کے خلاف جو کچھ کدورت ہوگی اسے ہم نکال دیں گے اُن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہونگی، اور وہ کہیں گے کہ ——تعریف خدا ہی کے لیے ہے جس نے ہمیں یہ راستہ دکھایا، ہم خود راہ نہ پا سکتے تھے اگر خدا ہماری رہنمائی نہ کرتا، ہمارے رب کے بھیجے ہوئے رسول واقعی حق ہی لے کر آئے تھے—— اُس وقت ندا آئے گی کہ ——یہ جنت جس کے تم وارث بنائے گئے ہو تمہیں اُن اعمال کے بدلے میں ملی ہے جو تم کرتے رہے تھے——

اور جو کچھ ان کے دلوں میں کدورت ہوگی ہم اسے باہر نکال دیں گے ان کے نیچے سے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی۔ اور وہ شکر کرتے ہوئے کہیں گے ہر قسم کی تعریف اس اللہ کے لئے ہے جس نے ہمیں اس منزلِ مقصود تک پہنچایا اور ہم کبھی یہاں تک نہیں پہنچ سکتے تھے اگر وہ ہمیں نہ پہنچاتا۔ یقینا ہمارے پروردگار کے رسول حق کے ساتھ آئے اور انہیں ندا دی جائے گی کہ یہ بہشت ہے جس کے تم اپنے ان اعمال کی بدولت وارث بنائے گئے ہو۔ جو تم انجام دیا کرتے تھے۔

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّۭا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّۭا ۖ قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ ۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

And the dwellers of the Garden cry unto the dwellers of the Fire: We have found that which our Lord promised us (to be) the Truth. Have ye (too) found that which your Lord promised the Truth? They say: Yea, verily. And a crier in between them crieth: The curse of Allah is on evil-doers,

The inhabitants of paradise will call out to the inmates of the Fire, [We found what our Lord promised us to be true; did you find what your Lord promised you to be true?] [Yes,] they will say. Then a caller will announce in their midst, [May Allah]s curse be on the wrongdoers!]

The people of Paradise will say to the dwellers of the fire, [We have found whatever our Lord promised has come true. Have you found whatever the Lord promised you to be true?] They will reply, [Yes, we have also found it to be true.] Thereupon, someone will cry out, [God has condemned the unjust,

And the dwellers of the garden will call out to the inmates of the fire: Surely we have found what our Lord promised us to be true; have you too found what your Lord promised to be true? They will say: Yes. Then a crier will cry out among them that the curse of Allah is on the unjust.

The people of the Garden will call out to the people of the Fire, [We have found that what our Lord promised us is true. اور جنّتی لوگ جہّنمیوں سے پکار کر کہیں گے کہ جو کچھ ہمارے پروردگار نے ہم سے وعدہ کیا تھا وہ ہم نے تو پالیا کیا تم نے بھی حسب وعدہ حاصل کرلیا ہے وہ کہیں گے بیشک .پھر ایک منادی آواز دے گا کہ ظالمین پر خدا کی لعنت ہے

پھر یہ جنت کے لوگ دوزخ والوں سے پکار کر کہیں گے، ——ہم نے اُن سارے وعدوں کو ٹھیک پا لیا جو ہمارے رب نے ہم سے کیے تھے، کیا تم نے بھی ان وعدوں کو ٹھیک پایا جو تمہارے رب نے کیے تھے؟—— وہ جواب دیں گے ——ہاں—— تب ایک پکارنے والا ان کے درمیان پکارے گا کہ ——خدا کی لعنت اُن ظالموں پر

اور جنت والوں نے دوزخ والوں کو پکارا کہ ہمیں تو مل گیا جو سچا وعدہ ہم سے ہمارے رب نے کیا تھا تو کیا تم نے بھی پایا جو تمہارے رب نے سچا وعدہ تمہیں دیا تھا بولے، ہاں! اور بیچ میں منادی نے پکار دیا کہ اللہ کی لعنت ظالموں پر

and seek in it

عِوَجًۭا

crookedness,

وَهُم

and they

بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

about the forthcoming

كَٰفِرُونَ

are in denial.

٤٥

ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًۭا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ كَٰفِرُونَ

The ones who obstruct from way of the One and seek in it crookedness, and they about the forthcoming are in denial.

Who debar (men) from the path of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Last Day.

وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌۭ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌۭ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّۢا بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ ۚ وَنَادَوْا۟ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ

Between them is a veil. And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks. And they call unto the dwellers of the Garden: Peace be unto you! They enter it not although they hope (to enter).

There will be a veil between them. And on the Elevations will be certain men who recognize each of them by their mark. They will call out to the inhabitants of paradise, [Peace be to you!] (They will not have entered it, though they would be eager to do so.

There will be a barrier between the people of Paradise and hell. There will be people on the heights who know everyone by their faces and who will say to the people of Paradise, [Peace be upon you.] They hope to enter Paradise but are not yet therein.

And between the two there shall be a veil, and on the most elevated places there shall be men who know all by their marks, and they shall call out to the dwellers of the garden: Peace be on you; they shall not have yet entered it, though they hope.

ان دونوں گروہوں کے درمیان ایک اوٹ حائل ہوگی جس کی بلندیوں (اعراف) پر کچھ اور لوگ ہوں گے یہ ہر ایک کو اس کے قیافہ سے پہچانیں گے اور جنت والوں سے پکار کر کہیں گے کہ ——سلامتی ہو تم پر—— یہ لوگ جنت میں داخل تو نہیں ہوئے مگر اس کے امیدوار ہونگے

اور جنت و دوزخ کے بیچ میں ایک پردہ ہے اور اعراف پر کچھ مرد ہوں گے کہ دونوں فریق کو ان کی پیشانیوں سے پہچانیں گے اور وہ جنتیوں کو پکاریں گے کہ سلام تم پر یہ جنت میں نہ گئے اور اس کی طمع رکھتے ہیں،

اور ان دونوں (بہشت و دوزخ) کے درمیان پردہ ہے (حدِ فاصل ہے) اور اعراف پر کچھ لوگ ہوں گے جو ہر ایک کو اس کی علامت سے پہچان لیں گے۔ اور وہ بہشت والوں کو پکار کر کہیں گے کہ تم پر سلام ہو اور یہ لوگ (ابھی) اس میں داخل نہیں ہوئے ہوں گے۔ حالانکہ وہ اس کی خواہش رکھتے ہوں گے۔

And when their eyes are turned toward the dwellers of the Fire, they say: Our Lord! Place us not with the wrong-doing folk.

And when their look is turned toward the inmates of the Fire, they will say, [Our Lord, do not put us among the wrongdoing lot!])

When their eyes turn to the dwellers of hell, they will pray, [Lord, do not place us among the unjust.]

And when their eyes shall be turned towards the inmates of the fire, they shall say: Our Lord! place us not with the unjust

and when they turn their eyes towards the inmates of the Fire, they will say, [Our Lord, do not include us among the wrongdoers!]

اور پھر جب ان کی نظر جہّنموالوں کی طرف مڑ جائے گی تو کہیں گے کہ پروردگار ہم کو ان ظالمین کے ساتھ نہ قرار دینا

And the dwellers on the Heights call unto men whom they know by their marks, (saying): What did your multitude and that in which ye took your pride avail you?

پھر یہ اعراف کے لوگ دوزخ کی چند بڑی بڑی شخصیتوں کو ان کی علامتوں سے پہچان کر پکاریں گے کہ ——دیکھ لیا تم نے، آج نہ تمہارے جتھے تمہارے کسی کام آئے اور نہ وہ ساز و سامان جن کو تم بڑی چیز سمجھتے تھے

اور اعراف والے کچھ مردوں کو پکاریں گے جنہیں ان کی پیشانی سے پہچانتے ہیں کہیں گے تمہیں کیا کام آیا تمہارا جتھا اور وہ جو تم غرور کرتے تھے

اور پھر اعراف والے لوگ (دوزخ والے چند آدمیوں کو) آواز دیں گے جنہیں وہ علامتوں سے پہچانتے ہوں گے۔ کہ آج تمہاری جمعیت اور تمہارا غرور و پندار کچھ کام نہ آیا اور تمہیں کوئی فائدہ نہ پہنچایا۔

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.

Due Credits:

This website was possible by help of many people and forums who helped me to learn Arabic, Philosophy, Law, Psychology, and PHP and other Web scripts. To be honest, I do not even know the names of many but I did learn from them. Some of these people were already dead by the time I read their input.

The Arabic text of the Quran was obtained from Tanzil. The additional translations were also obtained from Tanzil from this link.
