They ask thee of the (destined) Hour, when will it come to port. Say: Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only. He alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. They question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof. Say: Knowledge thereof is with Allah only, but most of mankind know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They question you concerning the Hour, when will it set in? Say, [Its knowledge is only with my Lord: none except Him shall manifest it at its time. It will weigh heavy on the heavens and the earth. It will not overtake you but suddenly.] They ask you as if you were in the know of it. Say, [Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They ask you (Muhammad), [When will the Day of Judgment be?] Tell them, [My Lord knows best. It is He who has appointed its time. It will be a grave hour both in the heavens and the earth. It will only approach you suddenly.] They say, [It seems that you know about the coming of the Day of Judgment.] Tell them, [Only God knows about it and most people do not know.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know. - Shakir, Habib

پیغمبر !یہ آپ سے قیامت کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں کہ اس کا ٹھکانا کب ہے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ اس کا علم میرے پروردگار کے پاس ہے وہی اس کو بروقت ظاہر کرے گا یہ قیامت زمین و آسمان دونوں کے لئے بہت گراں ہے اور تمہارے پاس اچانک آنے والی ہے یہ لوگ آپ سے اس طرح سوال کرتے ہیں گویا آپ کو اس کی مکمل فکر ہے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ اس کا علم اللہ کے پاس ہے لیکن اکثر لوگوں کو اس کا علم بھی نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ لوگ تم سے پوچھتے ہیں کہ آخر وہ قیامت کی گھڑی کب نازل ہوگی؟ کہو ——اس کا علم میرے رب ہی کے پاس ہے اُسے اپنے وقت پر وہی ظاہر کرے گا آسمانوں اور زمین میں وہ بڑا سخت وقت ہوگا وہ تم پر اچانک آ جائے گا—— یہ لوگ اس کے متعلق تم سے اس طرح پوچھتے ہیں گویا کہ تم اس کی کھوج میں لگے ہوئے ہو کہو ——اس کا علم تو صرف اللہ کو ہے مگر اکثر لوگ اس حقیقت سے نا واقف ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

(اے رسول) لوگ آپ سے قیامت کی گھڑی کے متعلق سوال کرتے ہیں کہ اس کا وقوع کب ہوگا؟ کہہ دو کہ اس کا علم تو میرے پروردگار کے ہی پاس ہے اسے اس کا وقت آنے پر وہی ظاہر کرے گا۔ وہ گھڑی آسمانوں اور زمین میں بڑی بھاری ہے (وہ بڑا بھاری حادثہ ہے جو ان میں رونما ہوگا) وہ نہیں آئے گی تمہارے پاس مگر اچانک۔ لوگ اس طرح آپ سے پوچھتے ہیں جیسے آپ اس کی تحقیق اور کاوش میں لگے ہوئے ہیں؟ کہہ دو۔ کہ اس کا علم تو بس اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے۔ لیکن اکثر لوگ یہ حقیقت جانتے نہیں ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Say: For myself I have no power to benefit, nor power to hurt, save that which Allah willeth. Had I knowledge of the Unseen, I should have abundance of wealth, and adversity would not touch me. I am but a warner, and a bearer of good tidings unto folk who believe. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. And when he covered her she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

It is He who created you from a single soul, and made from it its mate, that he might find comfort with her. So when he had covered her, she bore a light burden and passed [some time] with it. When she had grown heavy, they both invoked Allah, their Lord: [If You give us a healthy [child], we will be surely grateful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When he (man) engaged in carnal relations with her, she conceived a light burden which she had to carry. When the baby grew in her womb, they (husband and wife) both prayed to their Lord, [If You grant us a healthy son we shall certainly give you thanks.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

وہ اللہ ہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک جان سے پیدا کیا اور اسی کی جنس سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا تاکہ اس کے پاس سکون حاصل کرے پھر جب مرد نے عورت کو ڈھانک لیا تو اسے ایک خفیف سا حمل رہ گیا جسے لیے لیے وہ چلتی پھرتی رہی پھر جب وہ بوجھل ہو گئی تو دونوں نے مل کر اللہ، اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ اگر تو نے ہم کو اچھا سا بچہ دیا تو ہم تیرے شکر گزار ہوں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک جان سے پیدا کیا اور اسی میں سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا کہ اس سے چین پائے پھر جب مرد اس پر چھایا اسے ایک ہلکا سا پیٹ رہ گیا تو اسے لیے پھراکی پھر جب بوجھل پڑی دونوں نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی ضرور اگر تو ہمیں جیسا چاہیے بچہ دے گا تو بیشک ہم شکر گزار ہوں گے، - Ahmed Raza

اللہ وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک متنفس (جاندار) سے پیدا کیا۔ اور پھر اس کی جنس سے اس کا جوڑا (شریک حیات) بنایا۔ تاکہ وہ (اس کی رفاقت میں) سکون حاصل کرے۔ پھر جب مرد عورت کو ڈھانک لیتا ہے۔ تو اسے ہلکا سا حمل رہ جاتا ہے جسے لئے وہ چلتی پھرتی رہتی ہے اور جب وہ بوجھل ہو جاتی ہے (وضعِ حمل کا وقت آجاتا ہے) تو دونوں (میاں بیوی) اپنے اللہ سے جو ان کا پروردگار ہے دعا مانگتے ہیں کہ اگر تو نے ہمیں صحیح و سالم اولاد دے دی تو ہم تیرے بڑے شکر گزار ہوں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

⦿
But when He gave unto them aright, they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them. High is He Exalted above all that they associate (with Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then when He gave them a healthy [child], they ascribed partners to Him in what He had given them. Exalted is Allah above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him]! - Qarai, Ali Quli

Lo! those who ward off (evil), when a glamour from the devil troubleth them, they do but remember (Allah's Guidance) and behold them seers! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When those who are Godwary are touched by a visitation of Satan, they remember [Allah] and, behold, they perceive. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Surely those who guard (against evil), when a visitation from the Shaitan afflicts them they become mindful, then lo! they see. - Shakir, Habib

حقیقت میں جو لو گ متقی ہیں اُن کا حال تو یہ ہوتا ہے کہ کبھی شیطان کے اثر سے کوئی برا خیال اگر انہیں چھو بھی جاتا ہے تو وہ فوراً چوکنے ہو جاتے ہیں اور پھر انہیں صاف نظر آنے لگتا ہے کہ ان کے لیے صحیح طریق کار کیا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When you do not bring them a sign, they say, [Why do you not improvise one?] Say, [I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord; these are insights from your Lord, and a guidance and mercy for a people who have faith.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

If you, (Muhammad), do not show them a miracle, they will keep on insisting that you must show them one. Say, [I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (Quran) contains wisdom for you from your Lord. It contains guidance and mercy for those who have faith. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when you bring them not a revelation they say: Why do you not forge it? Say: I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord; these are clear proofs from your Lord and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe. - Shakir, Habib

When you do not bring them a sign, they say, [Why do you not invent one?] Say, [I follow only what is revealed to me by my Lord. This Book is an enlightenment from your Lord and a guide and mercy to true believers. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر آپ ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی نہ لائیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ خود آپ کیوں نہیں منتخب کرلیتے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ میں تو صرف وحی پروردگار کا اتباع کرتا ہوں -یہ قران تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے دلائل ہدایت اور صاحبان هایمان کے لئے رحمت کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے نبیؐ، جب تم اِن لوگوں کے سامنے کوئی نشانی (یعنی معجزہ) پیش نہیں کرتے تو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ تم نے اپنے لیے کوئی نشانی کیوں نہ انتخاب کر لی؟ ان سے کہو ——میں تو صرف اُس وحی کی پیروی کرتا ہوں جو میرے رب نے میری طرف بھیجی ہے یہ بصیرت کی روشنیاں ہیں تمہارے رب کی طرف سے اور ہدایت اور رحمت ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو اِسے قبول کریں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اے محبوب! جب تم ان کے پاس کوئی آیت نہ لاؤ تو کہتے ہیں تم نے دل سے کیوں نہ بنائی تم فرما ؤ میں تو اسی کی پیروی کرتا ہوں جو میری طرف میرے رب سے وحی ہوتی ہے یہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے آنکھیں کھولنا ہے اور ہدایت اور رحمت مسلمانوں کے لیے، - Ahmed Raza

(اے پیغمبر(ص)) جب تم ان کے سامنے (ان کا کوئی مطلوبہ) معجزہ لے کر نہ جاؤ تو وہ کہتے ہیں کہ تم نے خود کوئی معجزہ کیوں نہ منتخب کر لیا؟ (یعنی اپنی مرضی سے کیوں نہ بنا لیا؟) کہہ دیجیے کہ میں تو صرف اسی وحی کی پیروی کرتا ہوں جو میرا پروردگار مجھے کرتا ہے (اس میں میری پسند کا کیا دخل؟) یہ (قرآن) تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے سامانِ ہدایت اور سراسر رحمت ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
