and the Earth,
وَمَا
and what
خَلَقَ
created
ٱللَّهُ
the One
مِن

شَىْءٍۢ
things,
وَأَنْ
and that
عَسَىٰٓ
perhaps
أَن
it
يَكُونَ
is
قَدِ
already
ٱقْتَرَبَ
very near
أَجَلُهُمْ
their term?
ۖ
فَبِأَىِّ
So about which
حَدِيثٍۭ
narrative
بَعْدَهُۥ
after His
يُؤْمِنُونَ
they are sure of?

أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍۢ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ Do not they contemplate in dominions of the atmospheres and the Earth, and what created the One of things, and that perhaps it is already very near their term? So about which narrative after His they are sure of?

Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and what things Allah hath created, and that it may be that their own term draweth nigh? In what fact after this will they believe? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَيَذَرُهُمْ
and He leaves them
فِى

طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ
their rebellion,
يَعْمَهُونَ
in a state of confusion.
Whoever is misguided by the One, then no guide for him; and He leaves them in their rebellion, in a state of confusion.

Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They ask thee of the (destined) Hour, when will it come to port. Say: Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only. He alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. They question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof. Say: Knowledge thereof is with Allah only, but most of mankind know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They question you concerning the Hour, when will it set in? Say, [Its knowledge is only with my Lord: none except Him shall manifest it at its time. It will weigh heavy on the heavens and the earth. It will not overtake you but suddenly.] They ask you as if you were in the know of it. Say, [Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They ask you (Muhammad), [When will the Day of Judgment be?] Tell them, [My Lord knows best. It is He who has appointed its time. It will be a grave hour both in the heavens and the earth. It will only approach you suddenly.] They say, [It seems that you know about the coming of the Day of Judgment.] Tell them, [Only God knows about it and most people do not know.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know. - Shakir, Habib

They ask you [Prophet] about the Last Hour, [When will it come?] Say, [Knowledge about it rests only with my Lord; He alone will reveal when its time will come, it lies heavy on the heavens and the earth: it will suddenly overtake you.] They will put questions to you as though you had full knowledge of it. پیغمبر !یہ آپ سے قیامت کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں کہ اس کا ٹھکانا کب ہے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ اس کا علم میرے پروردگار کے پاس ہے وہی اس کو بروقت ظاہر کرے گا یہ قیامت زمین و آسمان دونوں کے لئے بہت گراں ہے اور تمہارے پاس اچانک آنے والی ہے یہ لوگ آپ سے اس طرح سوال کرتے ہیں گویا آپ کو اس کی مکمل فکر ہے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ اس کا علم اللہ کے پاس ہے لیکن اکثر لوگوں کو اس کا علم بھی نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ لوگ تم سے پوچھتے ہیں کہ آخر وہ قیامت کی گھڑی کب نازل ہوگی؟ کہو ——اس کا علم میرے رب ہی کے پاس ہے اُسے اپنے وقت پر وہی ظاہر کرے گا آسمانوں اور زمین میں وہ بڑا سخت وقت ہوگا وہ تم پر اچانک آ جائے گا—— یہ لوگ اس کے متعلق تم سے اس طرح پوچھتے ہیں گویا کہ تم اس کی کھوج میں لگے ہوئے ہو کہو ——اس کا علم تو صرف اللہ کو ہے مگر اکثر لوگ اس حقیقت سے نا واقف ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم سے قیامت کو پوچھتے ہیں کہ وہ کب کو ٹھہری ہے تم فرماؤ اس کا علم تو میرے رب کے پاس ہے، اسے وہی اس کے وقت پر ظاہر کرے گا بھاری پڑ رہی ہے آسمانوں او رزمین میں، تم پر نہ آئے گی مگر اچانک، تم سے ایسا پوچھتے ہیں گویا تم نے اسے خوب تحقیق کر رکھا ہے، تم فرماؤ اس کا علم تو اللہ ہی کے اس ہے لیکن بہت لوگ جانتے نہیں - Ahmed Raza

(اے رسول) لوگ آپ سے قیامت کی گھڑی کے متعلق سوال کرتے ہیں کہ اس کا وقوع کب ہوگا؟ کہہ دو کہ اس کا علم تو میرے پروردگار کے ہی پاس ہے اسے اس کا وقت آنے پر وہی ظاہر کرے گا۔ وہ گھڑی آسمانوں اور زمین میں بڑی بھاری ہے (وہ بڑا بھاری حادثہ ہے جو ان میں رونما ہوگا) وہ نہیں آئے گی تمہارے پاس مگر اچانک۔ لوگ اس طرح آپ سے پوچھتے ہیں جیسے آپ اس کی تحقیق اور کاوش میں لگے ہوئے ہیں؟ کہہ دو۔ کہ اس کا علم تو بس اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے۔ لیکن اکثر لوگ یہ حقیقت جانتے نہیں ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. And when he covered her she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

It is He who created you from a single soul, and made from it its mate, that he might find comfort with her. So when he had covered her, she bore a light burden and passed [some time] with it. When he (man) engaged in carnal relations with her, she conceived a light burden which she had to carry. وہ اللہ ہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک جان سے پیدا کیا اور اسی کی جنس سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا تاکہ اس کے پاس سکون حاصل کرے پھر جب مرد نے عورت کو ڈھانک لیا تو اسے ایک خفیف سا حمل رہ گیا جسے لیے لیے وہ چلتی پھرتی رہی پھر جب وہ بوجھل ہو گئی تو دونوں نے مل کر اللہ، اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ اگر تو نے ہم کو اچھا سا بچہ دیا تو ہم تیرے شکر گزار ہوں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

But when He gave unto them aright, they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them. High is He Exalted above all that they associate (with Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then when He gave them a healthy [child], they ascribed partners to Him in what He had given them. Exalted is Allah above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him]! - Qarai, Ali Quli

When they were given a healthy son, they began to love him as much as they loved God. God is too exalted to be loved equally to anything else. - Sarwar, Muhammad

But when He gives them a good one, they set up with Him associates in what He has given them; but high is Allah above what they associate (with Him). - Shakir, Habib

پھر جب اس نے انہیں جیسا چاہیے بچہ عطا فرمایا انہوں نے اس کی عطا میں اس کے ساجھی ٹھہرائے تو اللہ کو برتری ہے ان کے شرک سے - Ahmed Raza
