قَدْ

قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةًۭ قَالُوا۟ يَٰحَسْرَتَنَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيهَا وَهُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ أَوْزَارَهُمْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِمْ ۚ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ

⦿

They indeed are losers who deny their meeting with Allah until, when the Hour cometh on them suddenly, they cry: Alas for us, that we neglected it! They bear upon their backs their burdens. Ah, evil is that which they bear!

They are certainly losers who deny the encounter with Allah. When the Hour overtakes them suddenly, they will say, [Alas for us, for what we neglected in it!] And they will bear their burdens on their backs. Look! Evil is what they bear!

Those who do not believe in the Day of Judgment have incurred upon themselves a great loss. When the Day of Judgment suddenly comes upon them, they will sink under the burden of their sins in grief for their neglecting that day. Terrible indeed will be their burden!

They are losers indeed who reject the meeting of Allah; until when the hour comes upon them all of a sudden they shall say: O our grief for our neglecting it! and they shall bear their burdens on their backs; now surely evil is that which they bear.

بیشک وہ لوگ خسارہ میں ہیں جنہوں نے اللہ کی ملاقات کا انکار کیا یہاں تک کہ جب اچانک قیامت آگئی تو کہنے لگے کہ ہائے افسوس ہم نے قیامت کے بارے میں بہت کوتاہی کی ہے -اس وقت وہ اپنے گناہوں کا بوجھ اپنی پشت پر لادے ہوں گے اور یہ بدترین بوجھ ہوگا

نقصان میں پڑ گئے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اللہ سے اپنی ملاقات کی اطلاع کو جھوٹ قرار دیا جب اچانک وہ گھڑی آ جائے گی تو یہی لوگ کہیں گے ——افسوس! ہم سے اس معاملہ میں کیسی تقصیر ہوئی—— اور اِن کا حال یہ ہوگا کہ اپنی پیٹھوں پر اپنے گناہوں کا بوجھ لادے ہوئے ہوں گے دیکھو! کیسا برا بوجھ ہے جو یہ اٹھا رہے ہیں

بیشک ہار میں رہے وہ جنہوں نے اپنے رب سے ملنے کا انکار کیا، یہاں تک کہ جب ان پر قیامت اچانک آگئی بولے ہائے افسوس ہمارا اس پر کہ اس کے ماننے میں ہم نے تقصیر کی، اور وہ اپنے بوجھ اپنی پیٹھ پر لادے ہوئے ہیں ارے کتنا برُا بوجھ اٹھائے ہوئے ہیں

بے شک ان لوگوں نے گھاٹا اٹھایا ہے جنہوں نے اللہ کی بارگاہ میں حاضری کو جھٹلایا۔ یہاں تک کہ جب اچانک قیامت آجائے گی تو وہ لوگ کہیں گے ہائے افسوس ہم سے اس کے بارے میں کیسی کوتاہی ہوئی؟ اور وہ اپنے (گناہوں کے) بوجھ اپنی پشتوں پر اٹھائے ہوں گے۔ کیا برا بوجھ ہے جو وہ اٹھائے ہوئے ہیں؟ ۔

وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَعِبٌۭ وَلَهْوٌۭ ۖ وَلَلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

⦿

Naught is the life of the world save a pastime and a sport. Better far is the abode of the Hereafter for those who keep their duty (to Allah). Have ye then no sense?

The life of the world is nothing but play and diversion, and the abode of the Hereafter is surely better for those who are Godwary. Do you not exercise your reason?

The worldly life is but useless amusement and sport (compared to) the life hereafter which is far better and is only for the pious. Will you not then understand?

And this world's life is naught but a play and an idle sport and certainly the abode of the hereafter is better for those who guard (against evil); do you not then understand?

قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَحْزُنُكَ ٱلَّذِى يَقُولُونَ ۖ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ

⦿

We know well how their talk grieveth thee, though in truth they deny not thee (Muhammad) but evil-doers flout the revelations of Allah.

We certainly know that what they say grieves you. Yet it is not you that they deny, but it is Allah]s signs that the wrongdoers impugn.

We certainly know that you (Muhammad) are sad about what they (the unbelievers) say. It is not you (alone) who has been accused of lying. The unjust have always rejected God's revelations.

We know indeed that what they say certainly grieves you, but surely they do not call you a liar; but the unjust deny the communications of Allah.

We know that what they say grieves you. It is not you that the wrongdoers are rejecting, rather it is the signs of God that they reject.

ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ آپ کو ان کے اقوال سے دکھ ہوتا ہے لیکن یہ آپ کی تکذیب نہیں کررہے ہیں بلکہ یہ ظالمین آیات الٰہی کا انکار کررہے ہیں

اے محمدؐ! ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ جو باتیں یہ لوگ بناتے ہیں ان سے تمہیں رنج ہوتا ہے، لیکن یہ لوگ تمہیں نہیں جھٹلاتے بلکہ یہ ظالم دراصل اللہ کی آیات کا انکار کر رہے ہیں

ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ تمہیں رنج دیتی ہے وہ بات جو یہ کہہ رہے ہیں تو وہ تمہیں نہیں جھٹلاتے بلکہ ظالم اللہ کی آیتوں سے انکار کرتے ہیں

ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ یہ لوگ جو باتیں کرتے ہیں وہ بے شک آپ کو رنج پہنچاتی ہیں۔ (لیکن امر واقع یہ ہے کہ) یہ لوگ آپ کو نہیں جھٹلاتے بلکہ یہ ظالم لوگ (دراصل) اللہ کی آیتوں کا انکار کر رہے ہیں۔

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

٣٤

وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا كُذِّبُوا۟ وَأُوذُوا۟ حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰهُمْ نَصْرُنَا ۚ وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكَ مِن نَّبَإِى۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

⦿

Messengers indeed have been denied before thee, and they were patient under the denial and the persecution till Our succour reached them. There is none to alter the decisions of Allah. Already there hath reached thee (somewhat) of the tidings of the messengers (We sent before).

⦿

Apostles were certainly denied before you, yet they patiently bore being denied and tormented until Our help came to them. Nothing can change the words of Allah, and there have certainly come to you some of the accounts of the apostles.

⦿

The Messengers who lived before you were also accused of lying, but they exercised patience. They were cruelly persecuted before We gave them victory. No one can change the words of God. You have already received news about the Messengers.

And certainly apostles before you were rejected, but they were patient on being rejected and persecuted until Our help came to them; and there is none to change the words of Allah, and certainly there has come to you some information about the apostles.

Other messengers have been denied before you, and they bore their rejection and persecution steadfastly, until Our help came to them. There is no one who can change the words of God. You have already received some account of those messengers.

اور آپ سے پہلے والے رسولوں کو بھی جھٹلایا گیا ہے تو انہوں نے اس تکذیب اور اذیت پر صبر کیا ہے یہاں تک کہ ہماری مدد آگئی اور اللہ کی باتوں کا کوئی بدلنے والا نہیں ہے اور آپ کے پاس تو مرسلین کی خبریں آچکی ہیں

تم سے پہلے بھی بہت سے رسول جھٹلائے جا چکے ہیں، مگر اس تکذیب پر اور اُن اذیتوں پر جو انہیں پہنچائی گئیں، انہوں نے صبر کیا، یہاں تک کہ انہیں ہماری مدد پہنچ گئی اللہ کی باتوں کو بدلنے کی طاقت کسی میں نہیں ہے، اور پچھلے رسولوں کے ساتھ جو کچھ پیش آیا اس کی خبریں تمہیں پہنچ ہی چکی ہیں

اور تم سے پہلے رسول جھٹلائے گئے تو انہوں نے صبر کیا اس جھٹلانے اور ایذائیں پانے پر یہاں تک کہ انہیں ہماری مدد آئی اور اللہ کی باتیں بدلنے والا کوئی نہیں اور تمہارے پاس رسولوں کی خبریں آ ہی چکیں ہیں

بے شک آپ سے پہلے بھی بہت سے پیغمبروں کو جھٹلایا گیا۔ تو انہوں نے جھٹلائے جانے اور اذیت پہنچائے جانے پر صبر کیا یہاں تک کہ ہماری مدد ان کے پاس آئی اور اللہ کی باتوں کو کوئی بدلنے والا نہیں ہے اور پیغمبروں کی کچھ خبریں تو آپ کو پہنچ ہی چکی ہیں۔

بِـَٔايَةٍۢ

شَآءَ

لَجَمَعَهُمْ

عَلَى

[untranslated]

ٱلْهُدَىٰ

فَلَا

تَكُونَنَّ

مِنَ

[untranslated]

ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ

[untranslated]

٣٥

وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِىَ نَفَقًۭا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًۭا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍۢ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ ۚ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ

⦿

And if their aversion is grievous unto thee, then, if thou canst, seek a way down into the earth or a ladder unto the sky that thou mayst bring unto them a portent (to convince them all)! - If Allah willed, He could have brought them all together to the guidance - So be not thou among the foolish ones.

⦿

And should their aversion be hard on you, find, if you can, a tunnel into the ground, or a ladder into sky, that you may bring them a sign. Had Allah wished, He would have brought them together on guidance. So do not be one of the ignorant.

⦿

(Muhammad), if their refusal of the faith is so grievous to you and if you can dig up the earth or ascend into the sky in search of further evidence to inevitably make them believe you, you should have done so, but note that had God wanted, He could have made them all follow the same guidance. Do not ever be unaware (of this fact).

⦿

And if their turning away is hard on you, then if you can seek an opening (to go down) into the earth or a ladder (to ascend up) to heaven so that you should bring them a sign and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have gathered them all on guidance, therefore be not of the ignorant.

If you find their rejection hard to bear, then seek a tunnel into the ground or a ladder into the sky, if you can, and bring them a sign. Had God so willed, He would indeed have given them all [His] guidance. So do not be among the ignorant.

اور اگر ان کا اعراض و انحراف آپ پر گراں گزرتا ہے تو اگر آپ کے بس میں ہے کہ زمین میں سرنگ بنادیں یا آسمان میں سیڑھی لگا کر کوئی نشانی لے آئیں تو لے آئیں ....بیشک اگر خدا چاہتا تو جبرا سب کو ہدایت پر جمع ہی کردیتا لہذا آپ اپنا شمار ناواقف لوگوں میں نہ ہونے دیں

⦿

تاہم اگر ان لوگوں کی بے رخی تم سے برداشت نہیں ہوتی تو اگر تم میں کچھ زور ہے تو زمین میں کوئی سرنگ ڈھونڈو یا آسمان میں سیڑھی لگاؤ اور ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی لانے کی کوشش کرو اگر اللہ چاہتا تو ان سب کو ہدایت پر جمع کر سکتا تھا، لہٰذا نادان مت بنو

⦿

اور اگر ان کا منہ پھیرنا تم پر شاق گزرا ہے تو اگر تم سے ہوسکے تو زمین میں کوئی سرنگ تلاش کرلو یا آسمان میں زینہ پھر ان کے لیے نشانی لے آؤ اور اللہ چاہتا تو انہیں ہدایت پر اکٹھا کردیتا تو اے سننے والے تو ہرگز نادان نہ بن،

اور اگر حق سے ان کی روگردانی کرنا آپ پر بہت گراں ہے تو پھر اگر ہو سکتا ہے تو زمین میں کوئی سرنگ لگا کر یا آسمان میں کوئی سیڑھی لگا کر ان کے پاس کوئی معجزہ لاؤ۔ مگر وہ پھر بھی ایمان نہیں لائیں گے اور اگر اللہ (زبردستی) چاہتا تو ان سب کو ہدایت پر جمع کر دیتا۔ لہٰذا آپ ناواقف لوگوں میں سے نہ بنیں۔

هد ⇐ هدى | to coerce / instruct / lead / convince / threat / guide / take step by step towards | to moderate | tranquil | calm | a set portion | part of bigger thing | the thing that is sent somewhere in a specific direction | old man's crouched back hump due to hunching over and moving at a slow steady pace (as if weighed by years of knowledge or experiences) | a smaller than usual hump of a camel (due to being regularly laden by weight) | something that which is being carried to somewhere

إِنَّمَا يَسْتَجِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَ ۘ وَٱلْمَوْتَىٰ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ

⦿

Only those can accept who hear. As for the dead, Allah will raise them up; then unto Him they will be returned.

Only those who listen will respond [to you]. As for the dead, Allah will resurrect them, then they will be brought back to Him.

Only those who have understanding will accept your faith. (Those who have no understanding) are like the dead whom God will resurrect and to Him will all return.

دعوت حق پر لبیک وہی لوگ کہتے ہیں جو سننے والے ہیں، رہے مُردے، تو انہیں تو اللہ بس قبروں ہی سے اٹھائے گا اور پھر وہ (اس کی عدالت میں پیش ہونے کے لیے) واپس لائے جائیں گے

They say: Why hath no portent been sent down upon him from his Lord? Say: Lo! Allah is Able to send down a portent. But most of them know not.

There is not an animal in the earth, nor a flying creature flying on two wings, but they are peoples like unto you. We have neglected nothing in the Book (of Our decrees). Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
