قُلْ
Say,
أَىُّ
[What is that
شَىْءٍ
thing of
أَكْبَرُ
greatest
شَهَٰدَةًۭ
testimony?]
ۖ
قُلِ
Say,
ٱللَّهُ
[The One is!
ۖ
شَهِيدٌۢ
— Testifier
بَيْنِى
between me
وَبَيْنَكُمْ
and between you —
ۚ
وَأُوحِىَ
and revealed
إِلَىَّ
to me
هَٰذَا
this
ٱلْقُرْءَانُ
Proclamatory Reading
لِأُنذِرَكُم
for warning you all
بِهِۦ
with it,
وَمَنۢ
and whoever
بَلَغَ
it reaches.
ۚ
أَئِنَّكُمْ
Is it so, that you
لَتَشْهَدُونَ
are to testify
أَنَّ
that
مَعَ
along with
ٱللَّهِ
the One
ءَالِهَةً
are masters
أُخْرَىٰ
other than Him?]
ۚ
قُل
Say,
لَّآ
[Not
أَشْهَدُ
I testify.]
ۚ
قُلْ
Say,
إِنَّمَا
[Certainly it is, that
هُوَ
He is
إِلَٰهٌۭ
an unchallenged master
وَٰحِدٌۭ
solely singularly,
وَإِنَّنِى
and certainly I am
بَرِىٓءٌۭ
free
مِّمَّا
from what
تُشْرِكُونَ
you associate (with Him).]
٦
١٩
قُلْ أَىُّ شَىْءٍ أَكْبَرُ شَهَٰدَةًۭ ۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ ۖ شَهِيدٌۢ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚ وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لِأُنذِرَكُم بِهِۦ وَمَنۢ بَلَغَ ۚ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً أُخْرَىٰ ۚ قُل لَّآ أَشْهَدُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭ وَإِنَّنِى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ Say, [What is that thing of greatest testimony?] Say, [The One is! — Testifier between me and between you — and revealed to me this Proclamatory Reading for warning you all with it, and whoever it reaches. Is it so, that you are to testify that along with the One are masters other than Him?] Say, [Not I testify.] Say, [Certainly it is, that He is an unchallenged master solely singularly, and certainly I am free from what you associate (with Him).]

Say (O Muhammad): What thing is of most weight in testimony? Say: Allah is Witness between me and you. And this Qur'an hath been inspired in me, that I may warn therewith you and whomsoever it may reach. Do ye in sooth bear witness that there are gods beside Allah? Say: I bear no such witness. Say: He is only One Allah. Lo! I am innocent of that which ye associate (with Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

(Muhammad), ask them, [What is the greatest testimony? God testifies of my truthfulness to you. He has revealed this Quran to me to warn you and the coming generations (against disobeying God). Do you believe that other gods exist besides God? I solemnly declare that He is the only Lord and that I am not guilty of believing in what the pagans believe.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: What thing is the weightiest in testimony? Say: Allah is witness between you and me; and this Quran has been revealed to me that with it I may warn you and whomsoever it reaches. Do you really bear witness that there are other gods with Allah? Say: I do not bear witness. Say: He is only one Allah, and surely I am clear of that which you set up (with Him). - Shakir, Habib

Ask them, [What carries the most weight as a witness?] Tell them it is God. He is a witness between you and me. آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ گواہی کے لئے سب سے بڑی چیز کیا ہے اور بتادیجئے کہ خدا ہمارے اور تمہارے درمیان گواہ ہے اور میری طرف اس قرآن کی وحی کی گئی ہے تاکہ اس کے ذریعہ میں تمہیں اور جہاں تک یہ پیغام پہنچے سب کو ڈراؤں کیا تم لوگ گواہی دیتے ہو کہ خدا کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا بھی ہے تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میں اس کی گواہی نہیں دے سکتا اور بتادیجئے کہ خدا صرف خدائے واحد ہے اور میں تمہارے شرک سے بیزار ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ان سے پوچھو، کس کی گواہی سب سے بڑھ کر ہے؟کہو، میرے اور تمہارے درمیان اللہ گواہ ہے، اور یہ قرآن میری طرف بذریعہ وحی بھیجا گیا ہے تاکہ تمہیں اور جس جس کو یہ پہنچے، سب کو متنبہ کر دوں کیا واقعی تم لوگ یہ شہادت دے سکتے ہو کہ اللہ کے ساتھ دوسرے خدا بھی ہیں؟ کہو، میں تو اس کی شہادت ہرگز نہیں دے سکتا کہو، خدا تو وہی ایک ہے اور میں اس شرک سے قطعی بیزار ہوں جس میں تم مبتلا ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ سب سے بڑی گواہی کس کی تم فرماؤ کہ اللہ گواہ ہے مجھ میں اور تم میں اور میر ی طر ف اس قر آ ن کی وحی ہوئی ہے کہ میں اس سے تمھیں ڈراؤ ں اورجن جن کو پہنچے تو کیا تم یہ گواہی دیتے ہو کہ اللہ کے ساتھ اور خدا ہیں، تم فرماؤ کہ میں یہ گواہی نہیں دیتا تم فرماؤ کہ وہ تو ایک ہی معبود ہے اور میں بیزار ہوں ان سے جن کو تم شریک ٹھہراتے ہو - Ahmed Raza

The ones
ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ
to whom We gave
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book,
يَعْرِفُونَهُۥ
know it
كَمَا
as how
يَعْرِفُونَ
they know
أَبْنَآءَهُمُ
their own sons;
ۘ
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
خَسِرُوٓا۟
lose
أَنفُسَهُمْ
their own selves,
فَهُمْ
thus they
لَا
do not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
have any conviction.
٦
٢٠
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَعْرِفُونَهُۥ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَآءَهُمُ ۘ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ The ones to whom We gave the Book, know it as how they know their own sons; the ones who lose their own selves, thus they do not have any conviction.

Those unto whom We gave the Scripture recognise (this revelation) as they recognise their sons. Those who ruin their own souls will not believe. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those whom We have given the Book recognize him just as they recognize their sons. Those who have ruined their souls will not have faith. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The People of the Book know him (Muhammad) just as well as they know their own children, but those who have lost their souls will not believe. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Those whom We have given the Book recognize him as they recognize their sons; (as for) those who have lost their souls, they will not believe. - Shakir, Habib

جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ پیغمبر کو اسی طرح پہچانتے ہیں جس طرح اپنی اولاد کو پہنچاتے ہیں لیکن جن لوگوں نے اپنے نفس کو خسارہ میں ڈال دیا ہے وہ ایمان نہیں لاسکتے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ اس بات کو اس طرح غیر مشتبہ طور پر پہچانتے ہیں جیسے ان کو اپنے بیٹوں کے پہچاننے میں کوئی اشتباہ پیش نہیں آتا مگر جنہوں نے اپنے آپ کو خود خسارے میں ڈال دیا ہے وہ اِسے نہیں مانتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جن کو ہم نے کتاب دی اس نبی کو پہچانتے ہیں جیسا اپنے بیٹے کو پہچانتے ہیں جنہوں نے اپنی جان نقصان میں ڈالی وہ ایمان نہیں لاتے، - Ahmed Raza

جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ ان (پیغمبر(ص)) کو اس طرح پہنچاتے ہیں جس طرح اپنے بیٹوں کو پہنچاتے ہیں۔ مگر جن لوگوں نے اپنے آپ کو خسارے و نقصان میں ڈال رکھا ہے وہ ایمان نہیں لائیں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَمَنْ
And who
أَظْلَمُ
does more injustice
مِمَّنِ
than who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ
invents
عَلَى
upon
ٱللَّهِ
the One
كَذِبًا
a lie,
أَوْ
or
كَذَّبَ
lied
بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ
about His signs?
ۗ
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed He
لَا
not
يُفْلِحُ
gives success to
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
the people in darkness.
٦
٢١
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ And who does more injustice than who invents upon the One a lie, or lied about His signs? Indeed He not gives success to the people in darkness.

Who doth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or denieth His revelations? Lo! the wrongdoers will not be successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Who is a greater wrongdoer than him who fabricates a lie against Allah, or denies His signs? Indeed the wrongdoers will not be felicitous. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Who are more unjust than those who ascribe falsehood to God or reject His revelations? The unjust will certainly have no happiness. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah or (he who) gives the lie to His communications; surely the unjust will not be successful. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Who does greater wrong than he who invents a lie against God and denies His signs? Assuredly, the wrongdoers will not succeed. - Wahiduddin Khan

اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہوسکتا ہے جو خدا پر بہتان باندھے اور اس کی آیات کی تکذیب کرے -یقینا ان ظالمین کے لئے نجات نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اُس شخص سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون ہوگا جو اللہ پر جھوٹا بہتان لگائے، یا اللہ کی نشانیوں کو جھٹلائے؟ یقیناً ایسے ظالم کبھی فلاح نہیں پا سکتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون جو اللہ پر جھوٹ باندھے یا اس کی آیتیں جھٹلائے، بیشک ظالم فلاح نہ پائیں گے، - Ahmed Raza

وَيَوْمَ
And that day when
نَحْشُرُهُمْ
We gather them
جَمِيعًۭا
in one place,
ثُمَّ
then
نَقُولُ
We will say
لِلَّذِينَ
to the ones who
أَشْرَكُوٓا۟
added authorities,
أَيْنَ
[Where are
شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ
your additional authorities,
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كُنتُمْ
you had been
تَزْعُمُونَ
alleging?]
٦
٢٢
وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ And that day when We gather them in one place, then We will say to the ones who added authorities, [Where are your additional authorities, the ones who you had been alleging?]
⦿
And on the day We gather them together We shall say unto those who ascribed partners (unto Allah): Where are (now) those partners of your make-believe? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

On the day when We gather them all together, We shall say to those who ascribed partners [to Allah] [Where are your partners that you used to claim?] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
On the Day of Judgment when We will gather all people together, We will ask the pagans, [Where are those whom you believed to be your gods?] - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And on the day when We shall gather them all together, then shall We say to those who associated others (with Allah): Where are your associates whom you asserted? - Shakir, Habib

On the Day when We gather them all together, We will say to those who associated [others with Us], [Where are those partners that you claimed?] - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
قیامت کے دن ہم سب کو ایک ساتھ اُٹھائیں گے پھر مشرکین سے کہیں گے کہ تمہارے وہ شرکائ کہاں ہیں جو تمہارے خیال میں خدا کے شریک تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جس روز ہم ان سب کو اکٹھا کریں گے اور مشرکوں سے پوچھیں گے کہ اب وہ تمہارے ٹھیرائے ہوئے شریک کہاں ہیں جن کو تم اپنا خدا سمجھتے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جس دن ہم سب کو اٹھائیں گے پھر مشرکوں سے فرمائیں گے کہاں ہیں تمہارے وہ شریک جن کا تم دعویٰ کرتے تھے، - Ahmed Raza

اور جس دن ہم سب کو (میدانِ حشر میں) اکٹھا کریں گے۔ اور جو لوگ (دنیا میں) شرک کرتے رہے ہیں ان سے کہیں گے کہ کہاں ہیں تمہارے وہ (معبود) جن کو تم خدا کا شریک گمان کرتے تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

However
لَمْ
not
تَكُن
will be
فِتْنَتُهُمْ
a test,
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
قَالُوا۟
they will say,
وَٱللَّهِ
[By the One
رَبِّنَا
our Sustainer!
مَا
Not
كُنَّا
are we
مُشْرِكِينَ
people who use additional authorities.]
However not will be a test, except that they will say, [By the One our Sustainer! Not are we people who use additional authorities.]
⦿
Then will they have no contention save that they will say: By Allah, our Lord, we never were idolaters. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Then their only excuse will be to say, [By Allah, our Lord, we were not polytheists.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Attempting to answer, they will say, [Lord, we swear by Your Name that we were not pagans]. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Then their excuse would be nothing but that they would say: By Allah, our Lord, we were not polytheists. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Then they will have no excuse but to say, [By God our Lord, we have never been polytheists.] - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
اس کے بعد ان کا کوئی فتنہ نہ ہوگا سوائے اس کے کہ یہ کہہ دیں کہ خدا کی قسم ہم مشرک نہیں تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تو وہ اِس کے سوا کوئی فتنہ نہ اٹھا سکیں گے کہ (یہ جھوٹا بیان دیں کہ) اے ہمارے آقا! تیری قسم ہم ہرگز مشر ک نہ تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر ان کی کچھ بناوٹ نہ رہی مگر یہ کہ بولے ہمیں اپنے رب اللہ کی قسم کہ ہم مشرک نہ تھے، - Ahmed Raza

اس وقت ان کے پاس اس کے سوا اور کوئی عذر نہ ہوگا کہ وہ کہیں گے ہمیں اپنے پروردگار اللہ کی قسم کہ ہم مشرک نہ تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Do you see
كَيْفَ
how
كَذَبُوا۟
they lie
عَلَىٰٓ
upon
أَنفُسِهِمْ
their own psyches?
ۚ
وَضَلَّ
And darkened
عَنْهُم
upon them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
they were
يَفْتَرُونَ
fabricating.
Do you see how they lie upon their own psyches? And darkened upon them what they were fabricating.

See how they lie against themselves, and (how) the thing which they devised hath failed them! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Look, how they forswear themselves, and what they used to fabricate has forsaken them! - Qarai, Ali Quli

Consider, how they have lied against their own souls and have lost their gods. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And from them
مَّن
someone whom's
يَسْتَمِعُ
hearing is
إِلَيْكَ
towards you;
ۖ
وَجَعَلْنَا
and We have placed
عَلَىٰ
upon
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts
أَكِنَّةً
concealment
أَن
that
يَفْقَهُوهُ
they understand it,
وَفِىٓ
and in
ءَاذَانِهِمْ
their ears
وَقْرًۭا
deafness;
ۚ
وَإِن
and if
يَرَوْا۟
they see
كُلَّ
all
ءَايَةٍۢ
signs
لَّا
not
يُؤْمِنُوا۟
they will be convinced
بِهَا
by them,
ۚ
حَتَّىٰٓ
so much so that
إِذَا
whenever
جَآءُوكَ
come to you
يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ
they will try to undermine you,
يَقُولُ
(and) say
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
are in denial,
إِنْ
[Certainly
هَٰذَآ
this is
إِلَّآ
not but
أَسَٰطِيرُ
myths of
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
the former people.]
٦
٢٥
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًۭا ۚ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوكَ يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ And from them someone whom's hearing is towards you; and We have placed upon their hearts concealment that they understand it, and in their ears deafness; and if they see all signs not they will be convinced by them, so much so that whenever come to you they will try to undermine you, (and) say the ones who are in denial, [Certainly this is not but myths of the former people.]

Of them are some who listen unto thee, but We have placed upon their hearts veils, lest they should understand, and in their ears a deafness. If they saw every token they would not believe therein; to the point that, when they come unto thee to argue with thee, the disbelievers say: This is naught else than fables of the men of old. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

There are some of them who prick up their ears at you, but We have cast veils on their hearts lest they should understand it, and a deafness into their ears; and though they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. When they come to you, to dispute with you, the faithless say, [These are nothing but myths of the ancients.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Some of them listen to you, but We have veiled their hearts so that they cannot understand and made them deaf. They disbelieve all the evidence (of Our existence) that they may have seen. They only come to you for the sake of argument and the disbelievers say that (whatever Muhammad says) is no more than ancient legends. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And of them is he who hearkens to you, and We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and a heaviness into their ears; and even if they see every sign they will not believe in it; so much so that when they come to you they only dispute with you; those who disbelieve say: This is naught but the stories of the ancients. - Shakir, Habib

Among them are some who listen to you, but We have placed veils over their hearts and deafness in their ears which prevent them from understanding what you say. Even if they saw all the signs, they would still not believe in them. When those who deny the truth come to dispute with you, they will say, [This is nothing but ancient fables,] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ان میں سے بعض لوگ کان لگا کر آپ کی بات سنتے ہیں لیکن ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر پردے ڈال دئیے ہیں ... یہ سمجھ نہیں سکتے ہیں اور ان کے کانوں میں بھی بہراپن ہے -یہ اگر تمام نشانیوں کو دیکھ لیں تو بھی ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ جب آپ کے پاس آئیں گے تو بھی بحث کریں گے اور کفار کہیں گے کہ یہ قرآن تو صرف اگلے لوگوں کی کہانی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ان میں سے بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں جو کان لگا کر تمہاری بات سنتے ہیں مگر حال یہ ہے کہ ہم نے اُن کے دلوں پر پردے ڈال رکھے ہیں جن کی وجہ سے وہ اس کو کچھ نہیں سمجھتے اور ان کے کانوں میں گرانی ڈال دی ہے (کہ سب کچھ سننے پر بھی کچھ نہیں سنتے) وہ خواہ کوئی نشانی دیکھ لیں، اس پر ایمان لا کر نہ دیں گے حد یہ ہے کہ جب وہ تمہارے پاس آ کر تم سے جھگڑتے ہیں تو ان میں سے جن لوگوں نے انکار کا فیصلہ کر لیا ہے وہ (ساری باتیں سننے کے بعد) یہی کہتے ہیں کہ یہ ایک داستان پارینہ کے سوا کچھ نہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہے جو تمہاری طرف کان لگاتا ہے اور ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر غلاف کردیے ہیں کہ اسے نہ سمجھیں اور ان کے کانٹ میں ٹینٹ (روئی) اور اگر ساری نشانیاں دیکھیں تو ان پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے حضور تم سے جھگڑتے حاضر ہوں تو کافر کہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر اگلوں کی داستانیں - Ahmed Raza

And they
يَنْهَوْنَ
forbid
عَنْهُ
against it,
وَيَنْـَٔوْنَ
and keep at distance
عَنْهُ
from it;
ۖ
وَإِن
while it is that
يُهْلِكُونَ
they destroy
إِلَّآ
nothing but
أَنفُسَهُمْ
their ownselves
وَمَا
and not
يَشْعُرُونَ
they realize.

٢٦
وَهُمْ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ وَيَنْـَٔوْنَ عَنْهُ ۖ وَإِن يُهْلِكُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ And they forbid against it, and keep at distance from it; while it is that they destroy nothing but their ownselves and not they realize.

And they forbid (men) from it and avoid it, and they ruin none save themselves, though they perceive not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
They dissuade [others] from [following] him, and [themselves] avoid him; yet they destroy no one except themselves, but they are not aware. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
They keep away from the faith and forbid others to accept it. They destroy no one except themselves, yet they do not realize it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they prohibit (others) from it and go far away from it, and they only bring destruction upon their own souls while they do not perceive. - Shakir, Habib

and they bar others from believing and themselves keep away. But they ruin no one but themselves, though they fail to realize this. - Wahiduddin Khan

یہ لوگ دوسروں کو قرآن سے روکتے ہیں اور خود بھی دور بھاگتے ہیں حالانکہ یہ اپنے ہی کو ہلاک کررہے ہیں اور انہیں شعور تک نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وہ اس امر حق کو قبول کرنے سے لوگوں کو روکتے ہیں اور خود بھی اس سے دور بھاگتے ہیں (وہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ اس حرکت سے وہ تمہارا کچھ بگاڑ رہے ہیں) حالانکہ دراصل وہ خو د اپنی ہی تباہی کا سامان کر رہے ہیں مگر انہیں اس کا شعور نہیں ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور وہ اس سے روکتے اور اس سے دور بھاگتے ہیں اور بلاک نہیں کرتے مگر اپنی جانیں اور انہیں شعور نہیں، - Ahmed Raza

یہ ایسے (ناہنجار) ہیں کہ دوسروں کو بھی اس (پیغمبرِ اسلام یا قرآن) سے روکتے ہیں۔ اور خود بھی اس سے دور بھاگتے ہیں اور وہ (اپنی اس روش سے کسی اور کو نہیں) اپنے آپ کو تباہ کر رہے ہیں مگر انہیں اس کا شعور نہیں ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

you saw

وُقِفُوا۟
they stand
عَلَى

ٱلنَّارِ
the fire
فَقَالُوا۟
thus saying,
يَٰلَيْتَنَا
[O how we wish
نُرَدُّ
we could go back,
وَلَا
and not
نُكَذِّبَ
we would lie
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
about signs of
رَبِّنَا
our Owner
وَنَكُونَ
and we will be
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the ones of conviction.]
٦
٢٧
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ وُقِفُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَقَالُوا۟ يَٰلَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلَا نُكَذِّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ And, if it was that you saw when they stand upon the fire thus saying, [O how we wish we could go back, and not we would lie about signs of our Owner and we will be from the ones of conviction.]

If thou couldst see when they are set before the Fire and say: Oh, would that we might return! Then would we not deny the revelations of our Lord but we would be of the believers! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Were you to see when they are brought to a halt by the Fire, whereupon they will say, [If only we were sent back [into the world]! Then we will not deny the signs of our Lord, and we will be among the faithful!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

If only you could see them standing in the fire saying, [Would that we could return to the worldly life. We would never reject any of our Lord's revelations and we would be true believers.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And could you see when they are made to stand before the fire, then they shall say: Would that we were sent back, and we would not reject the communications of our Lord and we would be of the believers. - Shakir, Habib

If you could only see when they are set before the Fire. They will say, [If only we could be sent back. Then we would not deny the signs of our Lord and we would be of the believers.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اگر آپ دیکھتے کہ یہ کس طرح جہنّم کے سامنے کھڑے کئے گئے اور کہنے لگے کہ کاش ہم پلٹا دئیے جاتے اور پروردگار کی نشانیوں کی تکذیب نہ کرتے اور مومنین میں شامل ہوجاتے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کاش تم اس وقت ان کی حالت دیکھ سکتے جب وہ دوزخ کے کنارے کھڑے کیے جائیں گے اس وقت وہ کہیں گے کہ کاش کوئی صورت ایسی ہو کہ ہم دنیا میں پھر واپس بھیجے جائیں اور اپنے رب کی نشانیوں کو نہ جھٹلائیں اور ایمان لانے والوں میں شامل ہوں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کبھی تم دیکھو جب وہ آگ پر کھڑے کئے جائیں گے تو کہیں گے کاش کسی طرح ہم واپس بھیجے جائیں اور اپنے رب کی آیتیں نہ جھٹلائیں اور مسلمان ہوجائیں، - Ahmed Raza

On the contrary,
بَدَا
had become evident
لَهُم
to them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
they were
يُخْفُونَ
declining
مِن
from
قَبْلُ
before;
ۖ
وَلَوْ
and even if
رُدُّوا۟
they were sent back,
لَعَادُوا۟
they are habbitual
لِمَا
of what
نُهُوا۟
is forbidden
عَنْهُ
from it,
وَإِنَّهُمْ
and they certainly are
لَكَٰذِبُونَ
of liars.
٦
٢٨
بَلْ بَدَا لَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُخْفُونَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَلَوْ رُدُّوا۟ لَعَادُوا۟ لِمَا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ On the contrary, had become evident to them what they were declining from before; and even if they were sent back, they are habbitual of what is forbidden from it, and they certainly are of liars.
⦿
Nay, but that hath become clear unto them which before they used to hide. And if they were sent back they would return unto that which they are forbidden. Lo! they are liars. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed, what they used to hide before has now become evident to them. But were they to be sent back they would revert to what they were forbidden, and they are indeed liars. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Whatever they had concealed will be revealed to them. If they were to return to (the worldly life), they would again worship idols, for they are liars. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Nay, what they concealed before shall become manifest to them; and if they were sent back, they would certainly go back to that which they are forbidden, and most surely they are liars. - Shakir, Habib

The truth they used to hide will become all too clear to them. But if they were sent back, they would return to what they had been forbidden. For they are indeed liars. - Wahiduddin Khan

بلکہ ان کے لئے وہ سب واضح ہوگیا جسے پہلے سے چھپارہے تھے اور اگر یہ پلٹا بھی دئیے جائیں تو وہی کریں گے جس سے یہ روکے گئے ہیں اور یہ سب جھوٹے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

در حقیقت یہ با ت وہ محض اس وجہ سے کہیں گے کہ جس حقیقت پر انہوں نے پردہ ڈال رکھا تھا وہ اس وقت بے نقاب ہو کر ان کے سامنے آ چکی ہوگی، ورنہ اگر انہیں سابق زندگی کی طرف واپس بھیجا جائے تو پھر وہی سب کچھ کریں جس سے انہیں منع کیا گیا ہے، وہ تو ہیں ہی جھوٹے (اس لیے اپنی اس خواہش کے اظہار میں بھی جھوٹ ہی سے کام لیں گے) - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بلکہ ان پر کھل گیا جو پہلے چھپاتے تھے اور اگر واپس بھیجے جائیں تو پھر وہی کریں جس سے منع کیے گئے تھے اور بیشک وہ ضرور جھوٹے ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

(یہ اسے لئے کہیں گے کہ) ان پر وہ بات واضح و عیاں ہوگئی ہے جسے وہ پہلے چھپایا کرتے تھے (وہ ایسے ناہنجار ہیں کہ) اگر انہیں واپس بھیج دیا جائے تو پھر بھی وہی کریں گے جس سے ان کو منع کیا گیا تھا اور یقینا وہ باکل جھوٹے ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And they say,
إِنْ

هِىَ

إِلَّا

حَيَاتُنَا
our life of
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World,
وَمَا
and not
نَحْنُ
we are
بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
going to be resurrected.]
And they say, [There is not but our life of the World, and not we are going to be resurrected.]

And they say: There is naught save our life of the world, and we shall not be raised (again). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They say, [There is nothing but our life of this world, and we shall not be resurrected.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They have said that this life is the only life and that there will be no Resurrection. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they say: There is nothing but our life of this world, and we shall not be raised. - Shakir, Habib

They say, [There is nothing beyond our life in this world: we shall not be raised up again from the dead.] - Wahiduddin Khan

وَلَوْ
And, if it was that
تَرَىٰٓ
you saw
إِذْ
when
وُقِفُوا۟
they stand
عَلَىٰ
upon
رَبِّهِمْ
their Rabb;
ۚ
قَالَ
(the One) will say,
أَلَيْسَ
[Is not
هَٰذَا
this
بِٱلْحَقِّ
with fact?],
ۚ
قَالُوا۟
they will reply,
بَلَىٰ
[Certainly
وَرَبِّنَا
by our Rabb!],
ۚ
قَالَ
(the One) will say,
فَذُوقُوا۟
[Thus taste
ٱلْعَذَابَ
the punishment
بِمَا
due to what
كُنتُمْ
you were
تَكْفُرُونَ
denying.]

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ وُقِفُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ And, if it was that you saw when they stand upon their Rabb; (the One) will say, [Is not this with fact?], they will reply, [Certainly by our Rabb!], (the One) will say, [Thus taste the punishment due to what you were denying.]

If thou couldst see when they are set before their Lord! He will say: Is not this real? They will say: Yea, verily, by our Lord! He will say: Taste now the retribution for that ye used to disbelieve. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Were you to see when they are brought to a halt before their Lord. He will say, [Is this not a fact?] They will say, [Yes, by our Lord!] He will say, [So taste the punishment because of what you used to deny.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Would that you could see them standing before their Lord who would ask them, [Is not the Resurrection true?] They would reply, [Yes, Lord, there is a Resurrection.] The Lord would then say, [For your disbelief, suffer the torment.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And could you see when they are made to stand before their Lord. He will say: Is not this the truth? They will say: Yea! by our Lord. He will say: Taste then the chastisement because you disbelieved. - Shakir, Habib

If you could only see when they are made to stand before their Lord! He will ask them, [Is this [second life] not the truth?] They will say, [Yes, by our Lord!] He will say, [Then, taste the punishment that comes from your having refused to acknowledge the truth!] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر آپ اس وقت دیکھتے جب انہیں پروردگار کے سامنے کھڑا کیا جائے گا اور ان سے خطاب ہوگا کہ کیا یہ سب حق نہیں ہے تو وہ لوگ کہیں گے کہ بیشک ہمارے پروردگار کی قسم یہ سب حق ہے تو ارشاد ہوگا کہ اب اپنے کفر کے عذاب کا مزہ چکھو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کاش وہ منظر تم دیکھ سکو جب یہ اپنے رب کے سامنے کھڑے کیے جائیں گے اس وقت ان کا رب ان سے پوچھے گا ——کیا یہ حقیقت نہیں ہے؟—— یہ کہیں گے ——ہاں اے ہمارے رب! یہ حقیقت ہی ہے—— وہ فرمائے گا ——اچھا! تو اب اپنے انکار حقیقت کی پاداش میں عذاب کا مزا چکھو—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کبھی تم دیکھو جب اپنے رب کے حضور کھڑے کیے جائیں گے، فرمائے گا کیا یہ حق نہیں کہیں گے کیوں نہیں، ہمیں اپنے رب کی قسم، فرمائے گا تو اب عذاب چکھو بدلہ اپنے کفر کا، - Ahmed Raza
