وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ حَمُولَةًۭ وَفَرْشًۭا ۚ كُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And of the cattle (He produceth) some for burdens, some for food. Eat of that which Allah hath bestowed upon you, and follow not the footsteps of the devil, for lo! he is an open foe to you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

پھر وہی ہے جس نے مویشیوں میں سے وہ جانور بھی پیدا کیے جن سے سواری و بار برداری کا کام لیا جاتا ہے اور وہ بھی جو کھانے اور بچھانے کے کام آتے ہیں کھاؤ اُن چیزوں میں سے جو اللہ نے تمہیں بخشی ہیں اور شیطان کی پیرو ی نہ کرو کہ وہ تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Eight pairs: Of the sheep twain, and of the goats twain. Say: Hath He forbidden the two males or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Expound to me (the case) with knowledge, if ye are truthful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Eight mates: two of sheep, and two of goats. Say, [Is it the two males that He has forbidden or the two females, or what is contained in the wombs of the two females? Inform me with knowledge, should you be truthful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Supposing) that there are eight pairs of cattle, two pairs of sheep, and two pairs of goats. Tell Me (which is lawful and which is not)? یہ آٹھ نر و مادہ ہیں، دو بھیڑ کی قسم سے اور دو بکری کی قسم سے، اے محمدؐ! ان سے پوچھو کہ اللہ نے اُن کے نر حرام کیے ہیں یا مادہ، یا وہ بچے جو بھیڑوں اور بکریوں کے پیٹ میں ہوں؟ ٹھیک ٹھیک علم کے ساتھ مجھے بتاؤ اگر تم سچے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

١٤٤
وَمِنَ ٱلْإِبِلِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ ٱلْبَقَرِ ٱثْنَيْنِ ۗ قُلْ ءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا ٱشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ ۖ أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ وَصَّىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا ۚ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا لِّيُضِلَّ ٱلنَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And of the camels twain and of the oxen twain. Say: Hath He forbidden the two males or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females contain; or were ye by to witness when Allah commanded you (all) this? Then who doth greater wrong than he who deviseth a lie concerning Allah, that he may lead mankind astray without knowledge. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And two of camels and two of oxen. Say, [Is it the two males that He has forbidden or the two females, or what is contained in the wombs of the two females? Were you witnesses when Allah enjoined this upon you?] So who is a greater wrongdoer than him who fabricates a lie against Allah to mislead the people without any knowledge? Indeed Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Of the two pairs of camels and cows, are the males unlawful (to eat) or the females or that which exists in the wombs of the females? Were you present when God commanded you to do this? Who are more unjust than those who ascribe falsehood to God and out of ignorance make others go astray? God does not guide the unjust. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And two of camels and two of cows. Say: Has He forbidden the two males or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Or were you witnesses when Allah enjoined you this? Who, then, is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah that he should lead astray men without knowledge? Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people. - Shakir, Habib

اور اونٹ میں سے دو اور گائے میں سے دو .... ان سے کہیے کہ خدا نے نروں کو حرام قرار دیا ہے یا مادینوں کو یا ان کو جو مادینوں کے شکم میں ہیں .... کیا تم لوگ اس وقت حاضر تھے جب خدا ان کو حرام کرنے کی وصیت کررہا تھا -پھر اس سے بڑا ظالم کون ہے جو خدا پر جھوٹا الزام لگائے تاکہ لوگوں کو بغیر جانے بوجھے گمراہ کرے -یقینا اللہ ظالم قوم کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اسی طرح دو اونٹ کی قسم سے ہیں اور دو گائے کی قسم سے پوچھو، اِن کے نر اللہ نے حرام کیے ہیں یا مادہ، یا وہ بچے جو اونٹنی اور گائے کے پیٹ میں ہوں؟ کیا تم اُس وقت حاضر تھے جب اللہ نے ان کے حرام ہونے کا حکم تمہیں دیا تھا؟ پھر اُس شخص سے بڑھ کر ظالم اور کون ہوگا جو اللہ کی طرف منسوب کر کے جھوٹی بات کہے تاکہ علم کے بغیر لوگوں کی غلط راہ نمائی کرے یقیناً اللہ ایسے ظالموں کو راہ راست نہیں دکھاتا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ایک جوڑا اونٹ کا اور ایک جوڑا گائے کا، تم فرماؤ کیا اس نے دونوں نر حرام کیے یا دونوں مادہ یا وہ جسے دونوں مادہ پیٹ میں لیے ہیں کیا تم موجود تھے جب اللہ نے تمہیں یہ حکم دیا تو اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون جو اللہ پر جھوٹ باندھے کہ لوگوں کو اپنی جہالت سے گمراہ کرے، بیشک اللہ ظالموں کو راہ نہیں دکھاتا، - Ahmed Raza

اور اس طرح دو قسمیں اونٹ سے اور دو قسمیں گائے سے۔ کہو اس (اللہ) نے دونوں قسموں کے نروں کو حرام کیا ہے یا دونوں قسم کی ماداؤں کو؟ یا جو دونوں ماداؤں کے پیٹ میں ہے؟ کیا تم اس وقت موجود تھے جب اللہ نے تمہیں اس بات کا حکم دیا تھا؟ تو اس شخص سے بڑھ کر کون ظالم ہوگا جو اللہ پر جھوٹا الزام لگائے تاکہ کسی علم کے بغیر لوگوں کو گمراہ کرے بے شک اللہ ظالم قوم کو ہدایت نہیں کرتا (اسے منزلِ مقصود تک نہیں پہنچاتا)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Say: I find not in that which is revealed unto me aught prohibited to an eater that he eat thereof, except it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or swineflesh - for that verily is foul - or the abomination which was immolated to the name of other than Allah. (Muhammad), tell them, [I do not find anything which has been made unlawful to eat in what has been revealed to me except carrion, blood flowing from the body, pork [for pork is absolutely filthy] and the flesh of the animals slaughtered without the mention of the name of God. However, in an emergency, when one does not have any intention of rebelling or transgressing against the law, your Lord will be All-forgiving and All-merciful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Unto those who are Jews We forbade every animal with claws. And of the oxen and the sheep forbade We unto them the fat thereof save that upon the backs or the entrails, or that which is mixed with the bone. That we awarded them for their rebellion. To the Jews We forbade every animal having an undivided hoof, and of oxen and sheep We forbade them their fat, except what is borne by their backs or the entrails, or what is attached to the bones. We requited them with that for their rebelliousness, and We indeed speak the truth. - Qarai, Ali Quli

But if they deny you, say, [Your Lord is dispenser of an all-embracing mercy, but His punishment will not be averted from the guilty lot.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They reject you. (Muhammad), tell them, [Your Lord's mercy is completely overwhelming, but no one can save the sinful from His wrath.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

They who are idolaters will say: Had Allah willed, we had not ascribed (unto Him) partners neither had our fathers, nor had we forbidden aught. Thus did those who were before them give the lie (to Allah's messengers) till they tasted of the fear of Us. Say: Have ye any knowledge that ye can adduce for Us? Lo! ye follow naught but an opinion, Lo! ye do but guess. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The polytheists will say, [Had Allah wished we would not have ascribed any partner [to Him], nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything.] Those who were before them had denied likewise until they tasted Our punishment. Say, [Do you have any [revealed] knowledge that you can produce before us? You follow nothing but conjectures, and you do nothing but surmise.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The pagans will say, [Had God wanted, we would not have worshipped idols, nor would our fathers, nor would we have made anything unlawful.] Others before them had also spoken such lies until they experienced the severity of Our wrath. (Muhammad), ask them, [Do you possess any knowledge? If so, tell us about it. You follow only conjectures and preach falsehood.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Those who are polytheists will say: If Allah had pleased we would not have associated (aught with Him) nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden (to ourselves) anything; even so did those before them reject until they tasted Our punishment. Say: Have you any knowledge with you so you should bring it forth to us? You only follow a conjecture and you only tell lies. - Shakir, Habib

Those who associate partners with God will surely say, [Had God pleased, neither we nor our fathers would have served other gods besides Him; nor would we have made anything unlawful.] Likewise those who lived before them argued falsely until they came to taste Our punishment! Say, [Have you any knowledge? If so, produce it before us. You follow nothing but conjecture. You are merely guessing.] - Wahiduddin Khan

عنقریب یہ مشرکین کہیں گے کہ اگر خدا چاہتا تو نہ ہم مشرک ہوتے نہ ہمارے باپ دادا اور نہ ہم کسی چیز کو حرام قرار دیتے -اسی طرح ان سے پہلے والوں نے رسولوں کی تکذیب کی تھی یہاں تک کہ ہمارے عذاب کا مزہ چکھ لیا -ان سے کہہ دیجئے کہ تمہارے پاس کوئی دلیل ہے تو ہمیں بھی بتاؤ -تم تو صرف خیالات کا اتباع کرتے ہو اور اندازوں کی باتیں کرتے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ مشرک لوگ (تمہاری ان باتوں کے جواب میں) ضرور کہیں گے کہ ——اگر اللہ چاہتا تو نہ ہم شرک کرتے اور نہ ہمارے باپ دادا، اور نہ ہم کسی چیز کو حرام ٹھراتے—— ایسی ہی باتیں بنا بنا کر اِن سے پہلے کے لوگوں نے بھی جھٹلایا تھا یہاں تک کہ آخر کار ہمارے عذاب کا مزا انہوں نے چکھ لیا ان سے کہو ——کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی علم ہے جسے ہمارے سامنے پیش کرسکو؟ تم تو محض گمان پر چل رہے ہو اور نری قیاس آرائیاں کرتے ہو—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

they testify

along with them,

and not
تَتَّبِعْ
you are to follow
أَهْوَآءَ
whims of
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَذَّبُوا۟
lie
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
about Our signs
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
لَا
not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
are convinced
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
about the forthcoming,
وَهُم
while they,
بِرَبِّهِمْ
with their Rabb,
يَعْدِلُونَ
equate others.

قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَ هَٰذَا ۖ فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ ۚ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ Say, [Bring on your witnesses, the ones who can testify that the One has forbidden this.] Then if they testify then do not you testify along with them, and not you are to follow whims of the ones who lie about Our signs and those who not are convinced about the forthcoming, while they, with their Rabb, equate others.

Say: Come, bring your witnesses who can bear witness that Allah forbade (all) this. And if they bear witness, do not thou bear witness with them. Follow thou not the whims of those who deny Our revelations, those who believe not in the Hereafter and deem (others) equal with their Lord. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

ان سے کہو کہ ——لاؤ اپنے وہ گواہ جو اس بات کی شہادت دیں کہ اللہ ہی نے اِن چیزوں کو حرام کیا ہے—— پھر اگر وہ شہادت دے دیں تو تم ان کے ساتھ شہادت نہ دینا، اور ہرگز اُن لوگوں کی خواہشات کے پیچھے نہ چلنا جنہوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا ہے، اور جو آخرت کے منکر ہیں، اور جو دوسروں کو اپنے رب کا ہمسر بناتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Say: Come, I will recite unto you that which your Lord hath made a sacred duty for you: That ye ascribe no thing as partner unto Him and that ye do good to parents, and that ye slay not your children because of penury - We provide for you and for them - and that ye draw not nigh to lewd things whether open or concealed. And that ye slay not the life which Allah hath made sacred, save in the course of justice. This He hath command you, in order that ye may discern. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [Come, I will recount what your Lord has forbidden you. That you shall not ascribe any partners to Him, and you shall be good to the parents, you shall not kill your children due to penury—We will provide for you and for them—you shall not approach indecencies, the outward among them and the inward ones, and you shall not kill a soul [whose life] Allah has made inviolable, except with due cause. This is what He has enjoined upon you so that you may exercise your reason. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), say, [Let me tell you about what your Lord has commanded: Do not consider anything equal to God; Be kind to your parents; Do not murder your children out of fear of poverty, for We give sustenance to you and to them. Do not even approach indecency either in public or in private. Take not a life which God has made sacred except by way of justice and law. Thus does He command you that you may learn wisdom. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: Come I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you-- (remember) that you do not associate anything with Him and show kindness to your parents, and do not slay your children for (fear of) poverty-- We provide for you and for them-- and do not draw nigh to indecencies, those of them which are apparent and those which are concealed, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden except for the requirements of justice; this He has enjoined you with that you may understand. - Shakir, Habib

Do not associate anything with Him; be good to your parents; and do not kill your children for fear of poverty, We shall provide sustenance for you as well as for them, refrain from committing indecent deeds, whether openly or in secret; and do not kill the life which God has made sacred, save by right. کہہ دیجئے کہ آؤ ہم تمہیں بتائیں کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے کیا کیا حرام کیا ہے .... خبردار کسی کو اس کا شریک نہ بنانا اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا برتاؤ کرنا .اپنی اولاد کو غربت کی بنا پر قتل نہ کرنا کہ ہم تمہیں بھی رزق دے رہے ہیں اور انہیں بھی ... اور بدکاریوں کے قریب نہ جانا وہ ظاہری ہوں یا چھپی ہوئی اور کسی ایسے نفس کو جسے خدا نے حرام کردیا ہے قتل نہ کرنا مگر یہ کہ تمہارا کوئی حق ہو .یہ وہ باتیں ہیں جن کی خدا نے نصیحت کی ہے تاکہ تمہیں عقل آجائے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے محمدؐ! ان سے کہو کہ آؤ میں تمہیں سناؤں تمہارے رب نے تم پر کیا پابندیاں عائد کی ہیں: یہ کہ اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ کرو، اور والدین کے ساتھ نیک سلوک کرو، اور اپنی اولاد کو مفلسی کے ڈر سے قتل نہ کرو، ہم تمہیں بھی رزق دیتے ہیں اور ا ن کو بھی دیں گے اور بے شرمی کی باتوں کے قریب بھی نہ جاؤ خواہ وہ کھلی ہوں یا چھپی اور کسی جان کو جسے اللہ نے محترم ٹھیرایا ہے ہلاک نہ کرو مگر حق کے ساتھ یہ باتیں ہیں جن کی ہدایت اس نے تمہیں کی ہے، شاید کہ تم سمجھ بوجھ سے کام لو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ آؤ میں تمہیں پڑھ کر سناؤں جو تم پر تمہارے رب نے حرام کیا یہ کہ اس کا کوئی شریک نہ کرو اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ بھلائی کرو اور اپنی اولاد قتل نہ کرو مفلسی کے باعث، ہم تمہیں اور انہیں سب کو رزق دیں گے اور بے حیائیوں کے پاس نہ جاؤ جو ان میں کھلی ہیں اور جو چھپی اور جس جان کی اللہ نے حرمت رکھی اسے ناحق نہ مارو یہ تمہیں حکم فرمایا ہے کہ تمہیں عقل ہو - Ahmed Raza

(اے رسول) ان سے کہو۔ آؤ میں تمہیں سناؤں وہ چیزیں جو تمہارے پروردگار نے تم پر حرام کی ہیں: () یہ کہ اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہراؤ۔ () اور والدین کے ساتھ حسن سلوک کرو۔ () اور اپنی اولاد کو فقر و فاقہ کے ڈر سے قتل نہ کرو۔ ہم تمہیں بھی روزی دیتے ہیں اور انہیں بھی (دیں گے)۔ () اور بے شرمی و بے حیائی کے کاموں (جیسے جنسی غلط کاری) کے قریب بھی نہ جاؤ۔ خواہ وہ علانیہ ہوں اور خواہ پوشیدہ۔ () اور نہ قتل کرو کسی ایسی جان کو جس کے قتل کو خدا نے حرام قرار دیا ہے مگر (شرعی) حق (جیسے قصاص وغیرہ) کے ساتھ۔ یہ وہ ہے جس کی اللہ نے تمہیں وصیت کی ہے۔ تاکہ تم عقل سے کام لو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And approach not the wealth of the orphan save with that which is better, till he reach maturity. Give full measure and full weight, in justice. We task not any soul beyond its scope. And if ye give your word, do justice thereunto, even though it be (against) a kinsman; and fulfil the covenant of Allah. This He commandeth you that haply ye may remember. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do not handle the property of the orphans except with a good reason until they become mature and strong. Maintain equality in your dealings by the means of measurement and balance. No soul is responsible for what is beyond it's ability. Be just in your words, even if the party involved is one of your relatives and keep your promise with God. Thus does your Lord guide you so that you may take heed. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Stay well away from an orphan's property, except with the best intentions, before he comes of age. Give full measure and weight, according to justice, We never charge a soul with more than it can bear, when you speak, observe justice, even though it concerns a close relative; and fulfil the covenants of God. اور خبردار مال هیتیم کے قریب بھی نہ جانا مگر اس طریقہ سے جو بہترین طریقہ ہو یہاں تک کہ وہ توانائی کی عمر تک پہنچ جائیں اور ناپ تول میں انصاف سے پورا پورا دینا -ہم کسی نفس کو اس کی وسعت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتے ہیں اور جب بات کرو تو انصاف کے ساتھ چاہے اپنی اقرباہی کے خلاف کیوں نہ ہو اور عہد خدا کو پورا کرو کہ اس کی پروردگار نے تمہیں وصیت کی ہے کہ شاید تم عبرت حاصل کرسکو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور یہ کہ یتیم کے مال کے قریب نہ جاؤ مگر ایسے طریقہ سے جو بہترین ہو، یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنے سن رشد کو پہنچ جائے اور ناپ تول میں پورا انصاف کرو، ہم ہر شخص پر ذمہ داری کا اتنا ہی بار رکھتے ہیں جتنا اس کے امکان میں ہے، اور جب بات کہو انصاف کی کہو خواہ معاملہ اپنے رشتہ دار ہی کا کیوں نہ ہو، اور اللہ کے عہد کو پورا کرو ان باتوں کی ہدایت اللہ نے تمہیں کی ہے شاید کہ تم نصیحت قبول کرو - Maududi, Abul A'ala
