And what aileth you that ye spend not in the way of Allah when unto Allah belongeth the inheritance of the heavens and the earth? Those who spent and fought before the victory are not upon a level (with the rest of you). Such are greater in rank than those who spent and fought afterwards. Unto each hath Allah promised good. Why should you not spend in the way of Allah, when to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth? Those of you who spent [their means] and fought before the victory are not equal [to others]. They are greater in rank than those who have spent and fought afterwards. Why do you not spend for the cause of God when to Him belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth? Those who spend for the cause of God and fight before victory will have higher positions than those who spend for the cause of God and fight after victory. And what reason have you that you should not spend in Allah's way? آخر کیا وجہ ہے کہ تم اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہیں کرتے حالانکہ زمین اور آسمانوں کی میراث اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے تم میں سے جو لوگ فتح کے بعد خرچ اور جہاد کریں گے وہ کبھی اُن لوگوں کے برابر نہیں ہو سکتے جنہوں نے فتح سے پہلے خرچ اور جہاد کیا ہے اُن کا درجہ بعد میں خرچ اور جہاد کرنے والوں سے بڑھ کر ہے اگرچہ اللہ نے دونوں ہی سے اچھے وعدے فرمائے ہیں جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اس سے با خبر ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور تمہیں کیا ہے کہ اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہ کرو حالانکہ آسمانوں اور زمین میں سب کا وارث اللہ ہی ہے تم میں برابر نہیں وہ جنہوں نے فتحِ مکہ سے قبل خرچ اور جہاد کیا وہ مرتبہ میں ان سے بڑے ہیں جنہوں نے بعد فتح کے خرچ اور جہاد کیا، اور ان سب سے اللہ جنت کا وعدہ فرماچکا اور اللہ کو تمہارے کاموں کی خبر ہے، - Ahmed Raza

اورتمہیں کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ تم (اپنے مال) اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہیں کرتے حالانکہ آسمانوں اور زمین کی میراث (ترکہ) اللہ ہی کیلئے ہے تم میں سے جنہوں نے فتح (مکہ) سے پہلے مال خرچ کیا اور جنگ کی وہ اور وہ جنہوں نے فتحِ مکہ کے بعد مال خرچ کیا اور جنگ کی برابر نہیں ہو سکتے (بلکہ پہلے والوں کا) درجہ بہت بڑا ہے اگرچہ اللہ نے دونوں سے بھلائی کا وعدہ کیا ہے تم جو کچھ کرتے ہواللہ اس سے بڑا باخبر ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Who is he that will lend unto Allah a goodly loan, that He may double it for him and his may be a rich reward? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

يَوْمَ تَرَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ يَسْعَىٰ نُورُهُم بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَبِأَيْمَٰنِهِم بُشْرَىٰكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

On the day when thou (Muhammad) wilt see the believers, men and women, their light shining forth before them and on their right hands, (and wilt hear it said unto them): Glad news for you this day: Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein ye are immortal. That is the supreme triumph. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The day you will see the faithful, men and women, with their light moving swiftly in front of them and on their right, [and they are greeted with the words:] [There is good news for you today! يَوْمَ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱنظُرُونَا نَقْتَبِسْ مِن نُّورِكُمْ قِيلَ ٱرْجِعُوا۟ وَرَآءَكُمْ فَٱلْتَمِسُوا۟ نُورًۭا فَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُم بِسُورٍۢ لَّهُۥ بَابٌۢ بَاطِنُهُۥ فِيهِ ٱلرَّحْمَةُ وَظَٰهِرُهُۥ مِن قِبَلِهِ ٱلْعَذَابُ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

On the day when the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women will say unto those who believe: Look on us that we may borrow from your light! it will be said: Go back and seek for light! Then there will separate them a wall wherein is a gate, the inner side whereof containeth mercy, while the outer side thereof is toward the doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The day the hypocrites, men and women, will say to the faithful, [Please wait, that we may glean something from your light!] They will be told: [Go back and grope for light!] Then there will be set up between them a wall with a gate, with mercy within and punishment without. - Qarai, Ali Quli

On that day the hypocrites will say to the believers, [Please look at us so that we might benefit from your light.] They will be told, [Go back and search for your own light.] A barrier with a door will be placed between them. Inside it there will be mercy but outside of it there will be torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

On the day when the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women will say to those who believe: Wait for us, that we may have light from your light; it shall be said: Turn back and seek a light. Then separation would be brought about between them, with a wall having a door in it; (as for) the inside of it, there shall be mercy in it, and (as for) the outside of it, before it there shall be punishment. - Shakir, Habib

On that Day, the hypocrites, both men and women, will say to the faithful, [Wait a while for us, so that we may have some of your light.] They will be told, [Turn back and look for a light elsewhere.] A wall will then be raised between them. It will have a gate on the inside of which will be grace and mercy and on the outside of which will be punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan

اس دن منافق مرد اور منافق عورتیں صاحبان هایمان سے کہیں گے کہ ذرا ہماری طرف بھی نظر مرحمت کرو کہ ہم تمہارے نور سے استفادہ کریں تو ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ اپنے پیچھے کی طرف پلٹ جاؤ اور اپنے شیاطین سے نور کی التماس کرو اس کے بعد ان کے درمیان ایک دیوار حائل کردی جائے گی جس کے اندر کی طرف رحمت ہوگی اور باہر کی طرف عذاب ہوگا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اُس روز منافق مردوں اور عورتوں کا حال یہ ہوگا کہ وہ مومنوں سے کہیں گے ذرا ہماری طرف دیکھو تاکہ ہم تمہارے نور سے کچھ فائدہ اٹھائیں، مگر ان سے کہا جائے گا پیچھے ہٹ جاؤ، اپنا نور کہیں اور تلاش کرو پھر ان کے درمیان ایک دیوار حائل کر دی جائے گی جس میں ایک دروازہ ہوگا اُس دروازے کے اندر رحمت ہوگی اور باہر عذاب - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جس دن منافق مرد اور منافق عورتیں مسلمانوں سے کہیں گے کہ ہمیں یک نگاہ دیکھو کہ ہم تمہارے نور سے کچھ حصہ لیں، کہا جائے گا اپنے پیچھے لوٹو (ُ) وہاں نور ڈھونڈو وہ لوٹیں گے، جبھی ان کے درمیان ایک دیوار کھڑی کردی جائے گی جس میں ایک دروازہ ہے اس کے اندر کی طرف رحمت اور اس کے باہر کی طرف عذاب، - Ahmed Raza

Is not the time ripe for the hearts of those who believe to submit to Allah's reminder and to the truth which is revealed, that they become not as those who received the scripture of old but the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened, and many of them are evil-livers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Lo! those who give alms, both men and women, and lend unto Allah a goodly loan, it will be doubled for them, and theirs will be a rich reward. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed the charitable men and women and those who lend Allah a good loan—it shall be multiplied for them, and there will be a noble reward for them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And those who believe in Allah and His messengers, they are the loyal, and the martyrs are with their Lord; they have their reward and their light; while as for those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌۭ وَلَهْوٌۭ وَزِينَةٌۭ وَتَفَاخُرٌۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ ۖ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ ٱلْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّۭا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمًۭا ۖ وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۭ وَمَغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٌۭ ۚ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Know that the life of the world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children; as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but afterward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow, then it becometh straw. And in the Hereafter there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Know that the life of this world is mere diversion and play, glamour and mutual vainglory among you and rivalry for wealth and children—like rain, whose growth impresses the farmer. Then it withers and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes chaff. Whereas in the Hereafter there is forgiveness from Allah and His approval and a severe punishment. Know that the worldly life is only a game, a temporary attraction, a means of boastfulness among yourselves and a place for multiplying your wealth and children. It is like the rain which produces plants that are attractive to the unbelievers. These plants flourish, turn yellow, and then become crushed bits of straw. In the life hereafter there will be severe torment or forgiveness and mercy from God. The worldly life is only an illusion. - Sarwar, Muhammad

It is like the growth of vegetation after the rain, which delights the planter, but which then withers away, turns yellow and becomes worthless stubble. یاد رکھو کہ زندگی دنیا صرف ایک کھیل, تماشہ, آرائش, باہمی تفاخراور اموال و اولاد کی کثرت کا مقابلہ ہے اور بس جیسے کوئی بارش ہو جس کی قوت نامیہ کسان کو خوش کردے اور اس کے بعد وہ کھیتی خشک ہوجائے پھر تم اسے زرد دیکھو اور آخر میں وہ ریزہ ریزہ ہوجائے اور آخرت میں شدید عذاب بھی ہے اور مغفرت اور رضائے الۤہیبھی ہے اور زندگانی دنیا تو بس ایک دھوکہ کا سرمایہ ہے اور کچھ نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

خوب جان لو کہ یہ دنیا کی زندگی اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں کہ ایک کھیل اور دل لگی اور ظاہری ٹیپ ٹاپ اور تمہارا آپس میں ایک دوسرے پر فخر جتانا اور مال و اولاد میں ایک دوسرے سے بڑھ جانے کی کوشش کرنا ہے اس کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے ایک بارش ہو گئی تو اس سے پیدا ہونے والی نباتات کو دیکھ کر کاشت کار خوش ہو گئے پھر وہی کھیتی پک جاتی ہے اور تم دیکھتے ہو کہ وہ زرد ہو گئی پھر وہ بھس بن کر رہ جاتی ہے اِس کے برعکس آخرت وہ جگہ ہے جہاں سخت عذاب ہے اور اللہ کی مغفرت اور اس کی خوشنودی ہے دنیا کی زندگی ایک دھوکے کی ٹٹی کے سوا کچھ نہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جان لو کہ دنیا کی زندگی تو نہیں مگر کھیل کود اور آرائش اور تمہارا آپس میں بڑائی مارنا اور مال اور اولاد میں ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی چاہنا اس مینھ کی طرح جس کا اُگایاسبزہ کسانوں کو بھایا پھر سوکھا کہ تو اسے زرد دیکھے پھر روندن (پامال کیا ہوا) ہوگیا اور آخرت میں سخت عذاب ہے اور اللہ کی طرف سے بخشش اور اس کی رضا اور دنیا کا جینا تو نہیں مگر دھوکے کا مال - Ahmed Raza

اور خوب جان لو کہ دنیا کی زندگی کھیل تماشہ، ظاہری زیب و زینت، باہمی فخر و مباہات اورمال و اولاد میں ایک دوسرے سے بڑھ جانے کی کوشش ہے اس کے سو اکچھ نہیں ہے۔ اس (کے عارضی ہو نے) کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے بارش کہ اس کی نباتات (پیداوار) کافروں (کسانوں) کو حیرت میں ڈال دیتی ہے پھر وہ خشک ہو کر پکنے لگتی ہے تو تم دیکھتے ہو کہ وہ زرد ہو گئی ہے پھر وہ ریزہ ریزہ ہوجاتی ہے اور (کفار کیلئے) آخرت میں سخت عذاب ہے اور (مؤمنین کیلئے) اللہ کی طرف سے بخشش اور خوشنودی ہے اور دنیاوی زندگی دھوکے کے ساز و سامان کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
