لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِٱللَّغْوِ فِىٓ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا عَقَّدتُّمُ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ ۖ فَكَفَّٰرَتُهُۥٓ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَٰكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ ۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ كَفَّٰرَةُ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ ۚ وَٱحْفَظُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

Allah will not take you to task for that which is unintentional in your oaths, but He will take you to task for the oaths which ye swear in earnest. The expiation thereof is the feeding of ten of the needy with the average of that wherewith ye feed your own folk, or the clothing of them, or the liberation of a slave, and for him who findeth not (the wherewithal to do so) then a three days' fast. This is the expiation of your oaths when ye have sworn; and keep your oaths. Thus Allah expoundeth unto you His revelations in order that ye may give thanks.

Allah shall not take you to task for what is frivolous in your oaths; but He shall take you to task for what you pledge in earnest. The atonement for it is to feed ten needy persons with the average food you give to your families, or their clothing, or the freeing of a slave. He who cannot afford [any of these] shall fast for three days. That is the atonement for your oaths when you vow. But keep your oaths. Thus does Allah clarify His signs for you so that you may give thanks.

God will not hold you responsible for your thoughtless oaths. However, He will question you about your deliberate oaths. The expiation for breaking an oath is to feed ten needy people with food, typical of that which you feed to your own people, to clothe them or to set a slave free. One who cannot pay this, he must fast for three days to expiate his oaths. Keep your oaths. Thus, does God explain His Laws so that you will give Him thanks.

Allah does not call you to account for what is vain in your oaths, but He calls you to account for the making of deliberate oaths; so its expiation is the feeding of ten poor men out of the middling (food) you feed your families with, or their clothing, or the freeing of a neck; but whosoever cannot find (means) then fasting for three days; this is the expiation of your oaths when you swear; and guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His communications, that you may be Fateful.

The expiation for a broken oath is the feeding of ten needy men with such food as you normally offer to your own people; or the clothing of ten needy men; or the freeing of one slave. Anyone who lacks the means shall fast for three days. That is the expiation of your breaking the oaths that you have sworn. Do keep your oaths. Thus God explains to you His commandments, so that you may be grateful.

خدا تم سے بے مقصد قسمیں کھانے پر مواخذہ نہیں کرتا ہے لیکن جن قسموں کی گرہ دل نے باندھ لی ہے ان کی مخالفت کا کفارہ دس مسکینوں کے لئے اوسط درجہ کا کھانا ہے جو اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلاتے ہو یا ان کا کپڑا یا ایک غلام کی آزادی ہے .... پھر اگر یہ سب ناممکن ہو تو تین روزے رکھو ...._ کہ یہ تمہاری قسموں کا کفارہ ہے جب بھی تم قسم کھا کر اس کی مخالفت کرو اپنی قسموں کا تحفظ کرو کہ خدا اس طرح اپنی آیات کو واضح کرکے بیان کرتا ہے کہ شاید تم اس کے شکر گزار بندے بن جاؤ

تم لوگ جو مہمل قسمیں کھا لیتے ہو اُن پر اللہ گرفت نہیں کرتا، مگر جو قسمیں تم جان بوجھ کر کھاتے ہو اُن پر ضرور تم سے مواخذہ کرے گا (ایسی قسم توڑنے کا) کفارہ یہ ہے کہ دس مسکینوں کو وہ اوسط درجے کا کھانا کھلاؤ جو تم اپنے بال بچوں کو کھلاتے ہو، یا انہیں کپڑے پہناؤ، یا ایک غلام آزاد کرو، اور جو اس کی استطاعت نہ رکھتا ہو وہ تین دن کے روزے رکھے یہ تمہاری قسموں کا کفارہ ہے جبکہ تم قسم کھا کر توڑ دو اپنی قسموں کی حفاظت کیا کرو اس طرح اللہ اپنے احکام تمہارے لیے واضح کرتا ہے شاید کہ تم شکر ادا کرو

اللہ تمہیں نہیں پکڑتا تمہاری غلط فہمی کی قسموں پر ہاں ان قسموں پر گرفت فرماتے ہے جنہیں تم نے مضبوط کیا تو ایسی قسم کا بدلہ دس مسکینوں کو کھانا دینا اپنے گھر والوں کو جو کھلاتے ہو اس کے اوسط میں سے یا انہیں کپڑے دینا یا ایک بردہ آزاد کرنا تو جو ان میں سے کچھ نہ پائے تو تین دن کے روزے یہ بدلہ ہے تمہاری قسموں کا، جب قسم کھاؤ اور اپنی قسموں کی حفاظت کرو اسی طرح اللہ تم سے اپنی آیتیں بیان فرماتا ہے کہ کہیں تم احسان مانو،

اللہ تم سے تمہاری لایعنی قَسموں پر مواخذہ (بازپرس) نہیں کرے گا۔ مگر جو قسمیں تم نے قصداً کھائی ہیں (اور اس طرح مضبوط کی ہیں) تو ان پر ضرور تم سے مواخذہ کرے گا۔ اور (ایسی قسم توڑنے کا) کفارہ یہ ہے: ()دس مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا اوسط درجے کا جو تم اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلاتے ہو۔ () یا انہیں کپڑے پہناؤ۔ () یا پھر ایک غلام آزاد کرو۔ اور جس کو اس کا مقدور نہ ہو تو وہ تین روزہ رکھے۔ یہ تمہاری قَسموں کا کفارہ ہے جب تم قَسم کھاؤ اور اپنی قَسموں کی حفاظت کرو (خیال رکھو) اسی طرح اللہ تمہارے لئے اپنے آیات و احکام کھول کر بیان کرتا ہے تاکہ تم شکر گزار بنو۔

O ye who believe! Strong drink and games of chance and idols and divining arrows are only an infamy of Satan's handiwork. Leave it aside in order that ye may succeed.

O you who have faith! Indeed wine, gambling, idols, and the divining arrows are abominations of Satan]s doing, so avoid them, so that you may be felicitous.

ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the mindless fiend

بَيْنَكُمُ
amongst you
ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ
the animosity
وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ
and the aversion
فِى
in
ٱلْخَمْرِ
the intoxication,
وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ
and al-maisir-e*,
وَيَصُدَّكُمْ
and to stop you
عَن
from
ذِكْرِ
remembering
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَعَنِ
and from
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
the Salaat.
ۖ
فَهَلْ
thus is it so that
أَنتُم
you are going to
مُّنتَهُونَ
abstain?
٥
٩١
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ فِى ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ
Indeed what desires the mindless fiend is to cause amongst you the animosity and the aversion in the intoxication, and al-maisir-e*, and to stop you from remembering the One and from the Salaat. thus is it so that you are going to abstain?

Satan seeketh only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance, and to turn you from remembrance of Allah and from (His) worship. Will ye then have done?

Indeed Satan seeks to cast enmity and hatred among you through wine and gambling, and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you, then, relinquish?

تَوَلَّيْتُمْ
you turn back
فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
then know that
أَنَّمَا
it is so that
عَلَىٰ
upon
رَسُولِنَا
Our messenger is
ٱلْبَلَٰغُ
the notification
ٱلْمُبِينُ
that is clear.
٥
٩٢
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَٱحْذَرُوا۟ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا عَلَىٰ رَسُولِنَا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
And obey the One and obey the messenger and be warned; then if you turn back then know that it is so that upon Our messenger is the notification that is clear.

Obey Allah and obey the messenger, and beware! But if ye turn away, then know that the duty of Our messenger is only plain conveyance (of the message).

And obey Allah and obey the Apostle, and beware; but if you turn your backs, then know that Our Apostle]s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.

There shall be no sin (imputed) unto those who believe and do good works for what they may have eaten (in the past). So be mindful of your duty (to Allah), and believe, and do good works; and again: be mindful of your duty, and believe; and once again: be mindful of your duty, and do right. Allah loveth the good.

O ye who believe! Allah will surely try you somewhat (in the matter) of the game which ye take with your hands and your spears, that Allah may know him who feareth Him in secret. Whoso transgresseth after this, for him there is a painful doom.

ٱلصَّيْدَ
the captured
وَأَنتُمْ
while you are
حُرُمٌۭ
forbidden;
ۚ
وَمَن
and whoever
قَتَلَهُۥ
agitates them
مِنكُم
from you
مُّتَعَمِّدًۭا
intentionally
فَجَزَآءٌۭ
then (agitator's) recompense is
مِّثْلُ
like
مَا
how (the captured) was
قَتَلَ
agitated,
مِنَ
from
ٱلنَّعَمِ
the benefits (any which the agitator might have),
يَحْكُمُ
to be decided
بِهِۦ
about it by
ذَوَا
those who are of
عَدْلٍۢ
justice

from you,

a compensation

that reaches
ٱلْكَعْبَةِ
the central authority,
أَوْ
or

an amendment by
طَعَامُ
providing food and shelter for

أَوْ

عَدْلُ
equate
ذَٰلِكَ
that by
صِيَامًۭا
a training session
لِّيَذُوقَ
to make him (agitator) taste
وَبَالَ
consequence of
أَمْرِهِۦ
his action;
ۗ
عَفَا
may forgive
ٱللَّهُ
the One
عَمَّا
over what
سَلَفَ
has passed;
ۚ
وَمَنْ
and whoever
عَادَ
commits aggression
فَيَنتَقِمُ
thus will take vengence
ٱللَّهُ
the One
مِنْهُ
from him;
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One is
عَزِيزٌۭ
mightiest
ذُو
possessor of
ٱنتِقَامٍ
vengence.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقْتُلُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْدَ وَأَنتُمْ حُرُمٌۭ ۚ وَمَن قَتَلَهُۥ مِنكُم مُّتَعَمِّدًۭا فَجَزَآءٌۭ مِّثْلُ مَا قَتَلَ مِنَ ٱلنَّعَمِ يَحْكُمُ بِهِۦ ذَوَا عَدْلٍۢ مِّنكُمْ هَدْيًۢا بَٰلِغَ ٱلْكَعْبَةِ أَوْ كَفَّٰرَةٌۭ طَعَامُ مَسَٰكِينَ أَوْ عَدْلُ ذَٰلِكَ صِيَامًۭا لِّيَذُوقَ وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِۦ ۗ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا سَلَفَ ۚ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَيَنتَقِمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنْهُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌۭ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ
O you of the ones who have conviction! Do not agitate the captured while you are forbidden; and whoever agitates them from you intentionally then (agitator's) recompense is like how (the captured) was agitated, from the benefits (any which the agitator might have), to be decided about it by those who are of justice from you, a compensation that reaches the central authority, or an amendment by providing food and shelter for homeless, or equate that by a training session to make him (agitator) taste consequence of his action; may forgive the One over what has passed; and whoever commits aggression thus will take vengence the One from him; and the One is mightiest possessor of vengence.

O ye who believe! Kill no wild game while ye are on the pilgrimage. Whoso of you killeth it of set purpose he shall pay its forfeit in the equivalent of that which he hath killed, of domestic animals, the judge to be two men among you known for justice, (the forfeit) to be brought as an offering to the Ka'bah; or, for expiation, he shall feed poor persons, or the equivalent thereof in fasting, that he may taste the evil consequences of his deed. Allah forgiveth whatever (of this kind) may have happened in the past, but whoso relapseth, Allah will take retribution from him. Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong).

O you who have faith! Do not kill any game when you are in pilgrim sanctity. Should any of you kill it intentionally, its atonement, the counterpart from cattle of what he has killed, as judged by two fair men among you, will be an offering brought to the Ka[bah, or an atonement by feeding needy persons, or its equivalent in fasting, that he may taste the untoward consequences of his conduct. Allah has excused what is already past; but should anyone resume, Allah shall take vengeance on him, for Allah is all-mighty, avenger.

Believers, do not hunt when you are in the holy precinct. Whichever of you purposely kills game in the holy precinct has to offer, as an expiation, a sacrifice in the holy precinct which two just people among you would consider equal to the prey or food to a destitute person or has to fast (for an appointed time) to bear the burden of the penalty for his deed. God forgives whatever was done in the past, but He will take revenge on whoever returns to transgression, for He is Majestic and Capable of taking revenge.

O you who believe! do not kill game while you are on pilgrimage, and whoever among you shall kill it intentionally, the compensation (of it) is the like of what he killed, from the cattle, as two just persons among you shall judge, as an offering to be brought to the Kaaba or the expiation (of it) is the feeding of the poor or the equivalent of it in fasting, that he may taste the unwholesome result of his deed; Allah has pardoned what is gone by; and whoever returns (to it), Allah will inflict retribution on him; and Allah is Mighty, Lord of Retribution.

Anyone of you who kills game deliberately shall make compensation with an animal which is the equivalent of what he has killed, to be determined by two just men from among you, as an offering brought to the Ka'bah; or he shall, in expiation, either feed the poor or do the equivalent of that in fasting, so that he may taste the consequence of his deeds. God forgives what is past, but if anyone relapses into wrongdoing, God will exact His retribution. God is mighty, the Lord of retribution.

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو! احرام کی حالت میں شکار نہ مارو، اور اگر تم میں سے کوئی جان بوجھ کر ایسا کر گزرے تو جو جانور اس نے مارا ہو اُسی کے ہم پلہ ایک جانور اُسے مویشیوں میں سے نذر دینا ہوگا جس کا فیصلہ تم میں سے دو عادل آدمی کریں گے، اور یہ نذرانہ کعبہ پہنچایا جائے گا، یا نہیں تو اِس گناہ کے کفارہ میں چند مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا ہوگا، یااس کے بقدر روزے رکھنے ہوں گے، تاکہ وہ اپنے کیے کا مزہ چکھے پہلے جو ہو چکا اُسے اللہ نے معاف کر دیا، لیکن اب اگر کسی نے اس حرکت کا اعادہ کیا تو اس سے اللہ بدلہ لے گا، اللہ سب پر غالب ہے اور بدلہ لینے کی طاقت رکھتا ہے

اے ایمان والو! شکار نہ مارو جب تم احرام میں ہو اور تم میں جو اسے قصداً قتل کرے تو اس کا بدلہ یہ ہے کہ ویسا ہی جانور مویشی سے دے تم میں کہ دو ثقہ آدمی اس کا حکم کریں یہ قربانی ہو کہ کعبہ کو پہنچتی یا کفار ہ دے چند مسکینوں کا کھانا یا اس کے برابر روزے کہ اپنے کام کا وبال چکھے اللہ نے معاف کیا جو ہو گزرا اور جو اب کرے گا اس سے بدلہ لے گا، اور اللہ غالب ہے بدلہ لینے والا،

اے ایمان والو! شکار کو نہ مارو جبکہ تم احرام باندھے ہوئے ہو اور جو تم میں سے جان بوجھ کر اسے مارے گا تو اس کا جرمانہ مویشیوں سے کوئی جانور ہوگا۔ جو اس جانور کا ہم پلہ ہو جو اس نے مارا ہے جس کا فیصلہ تم میں سے دو عادل شخص کریں گے اور یہ جرمانہ بطور قربانی و نذرانہ خانہ کعبہ پہنچایا جائے گا۔ اس کا کفارہ چند مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا ہوگا یا پھر اس کے برابر روزے رکھے جائیں گے۔ تاکہ وہ اپنے کئے کی سزا کا مزہ چکھے۔ تو پہلے جو ہو چکا اسے تو اللہ نے معاف کر دیا۔ اور جو پھر ایسا کرے گا تو اس سے اللہ انتقام (بدلہ) لے گا۔ اور اللہ غالب ہے (زبردست ہے) اور بدلہ لینے والا ہے۔

Allah hath appointed the Ka'bah, the Sacred House, a standard for mankind, and the Sacred Month and the offerings and the garlands. That is so that ye may know that Allah knoweth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and that Allah is Knower of all things.

Know that the One is severe of the chase, and that the One is forgiving, merciful.

Not upon the messenger is except the broadcast; and the One knows what you reveal and what you hide.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
