يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you of
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
have conviction!
لَا
Do not
تَتَّخِذُوا۟
take
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
take
دِينَكُمْ
your governance system
هُزُوًۭا
as a mockery
وَلَعِبًۭا
and time pass,
مِّنَ
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
أُوتُوا۟
were given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the book
مِن
from
قَبْلِكُمْ
before you,
وَٱلْكُفَّارَ
and the deniers as
أَوْلِيَآءَ
guardians.
ۚ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟
And be aware of
ٱللَّهَ
the One
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you are
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
of firm conviction.
٥
٥٧
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَكُمْ هُزُوًۭا وَلَعِبًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَٱلْكُفَّارَ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ O you of the ones who have conviction! Do not take the ones who take your governance system as a mockery and time pass, from the ones who were given the book from before you, and the deniers as guardians. And be aware of the One if you are of firm conviction.

O Ye who believe! Choose not for guardians such of those who received the Scripture before you, and of the disbelievers, as make a jest and sport of your religion. But keep your duty to Allah if ye are true believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Do not take those who take your religion in derision and play, from among those who were given the Book before you, and the infidels, as friends, and be wary of Allah, should you be faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Believers, do not consider those among the People of the Book and the unbelievers who mock at your religion and treat it as useless, as your protectors. Have fear of God if you are true believers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

O you who believe! do not take for guardians those who take your religion for a mockery and a joke, from among those who were given the Book before you and the unbelievers; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah if you are believers. - Shakir, Habib

Believers! Do not seek the friendship of those who were given the Book before you or the disbelievers who ridicule your religion and make a jest of it. Have fear of God, if you are true believers. - Wahiduddin Khan

ایمان والو خبردار اہل ه کتاب میں جن لوگوں نے تمہارے دین کو مذاق اور تماشہ بنالیا ہے اور دیگر کفار کو بھی اپنا ولی اور سرپرست نہ بنانا اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہنا اگر تم واقعی صاحب ایمان ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ا ے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، تمہارے پیش رو اہل کتاب میں سے جن لوگوں نے تمہارے دین کو مذاق اور تفریح کا سامان بنا لیا ہے، اُنہیں اور دوسرے کافروں کو اپنا دوست اور رفیق نہ بناؤ اللہ سے ڈرو اگر تم مومن ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے ایمان والو! جنہوں نے تمہارے دین کو ہنسی کھیل بنالیا ہے وہ جو تم سے پہلے کتاب دیے گئے اور کافر ان میں کسی کو اپنا دوست نہ بناؤ اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو - Ahmed Raza

اے ایمان والو! وہ لوگ جنہیں تم سے پہلے کتاب دی گئی اور انہوں نے تمہارے دین کو مذاق اور کھیل بنا رکھا ہے۔ ان کو اور دوسرے عام کفار کو اپنا دوست نہ بناؤ اور اللہ سے ڈرو، اگر تم مؤمن ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَإِذَا
And whenever
نَادَيْتُمْ
you call them
إِلَى
towards
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
the discipline and harmony,
ٱتَّخَذُوهَا
they take it
هُزُوًۭا
as insult
وَلَعِبًۭا
and amusement;
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
that is
بِأَنَّهُمْ
due to them being
قَوْمٌۭ
a nation who
لَّا
not
يَعْقِلُونَ
uses its intelligence.

٥٨
وَإِذَا نَادَيْتُمْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوًۭا وَلَعِبًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌۭ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَ And whenever you call them towards the discipline and harmony, they take it as insult and amusement; that is due to them being a nation who not uses its intelligence.

And when ye call to prayer they take it for a jest and sport. That is because they are a folk who understand not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اور جب تم نماز کے لئے اذان دیتے ہو تو یہ اس کو مذا ق اور کھیل بنالیتے ہیں اس لئے کہ یہ بالکل بے عقل قوم ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب تم نماز کے لیے منادی کرتے ہو تو وہ اس کا مذاق اڑاتے اور اس سے کھیلتے ہیں اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ وہ عقل نہیں رکھتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب تم نماز کے لئے اذان دو تو اسے ہنسی کھیل بناتے ہیں یہ اس لئے کہ وہ نرے بے عقل لوگ ہیں - Ahmed Raza

اور جب تم (اذان دے کر لوگوں کو) نماز کی طرف بلاتے ہو تو وہ اسے مذاق اور کھیل بناتے ہیں۔ یہ اس لئے ہے کہ وہ بے وقوف ہیں، عقل سے کام نہیں لیتے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

اذ | when | suddenly | so then | whenever | therefore | in that case | hence
قُلْ
Say,
يَٰٓأَهْلَ
[Oh holders of
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book!
هَلْ
Why
تَنقِمُونَ
are you hostile
مِنَّآ
towards us?
إِلَّآ
Except
أَنْ
that
ءَامَنَّا
we are convinced
بِٱللَّهِ
regarding the One,
وَمَآ
and what was
أُنزِلَ
sent down
إِلَيْنَا
towards us,
وَمَآ
and what was
أُنزِلَ
sent down
مِن
from
قَبْلُ
before,
وَأَنَّ
and indeed
أَكْثَرَكُمْ
many of you are
فَٰسِقُونَ
liberals.]
٥
٥٩
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ هَلْ تَنقِمُونَ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَأَنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ Say, [Oh holders of the Book! Why are you hostile towards us? Except that we are convinced regarding the One, and what was sent down towards us, and what was sent down from before, and indeed many of you are liberals.]

Say: O People of the Scripture! Do ye blame us for aught else than that we believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed aforetime, and because most of you are evil-livers? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [O People of the Book! Are you vindictive toward us for any reason except that we have faith in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and in what was sent down before, and that most of you are transgressors?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), say to the People of the Book, [Do you take revenge on us because of our belief in God and what He has revealed to us and to others before us? Most of you are evil-doers]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: O followers of the Book! do you find fault with us (for aught) except that we believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed before, and that most of you are transgressors? - Shakir, Habib

Say, [People of the Book! Do you resent us only because we believe in God and in what has been revealed to us and to others before, and because most of you are disobedient?] - Wahiduddin Khan

پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اے اہلِ کتاب کیا تم ہم سے صرف اس بات پر ناراض ہوکہ ہم اللہ اور اس نے جو کچھ ہماری طرف یا ہم سے پہلے نازل کیا ہے ان سب پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور تمہاری اکثریت فاسق اور نافرمان ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن سے کہو، ——اے اہل کتاب! تم جس بات پر ہم سے بگڑے ہو وہ اس کے سوا اور کیا ہے کہ ہم اللہ پر اور دین کی اُس تعلیم پر ایمان لے آئے ہیں جو ہماری طرف نازل ہوئی ہے اور ہم سے پہلے بھی نازل ہوئی تھی، اور تم میں سے اکثر لوگ فاسق ہیں؟—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ اے کتابیوں تمہیں ہمارا کیا برا لگا یہی نہ کہ ہم ایمان لائے اللہ پر اور اس پر جو ہماری طرف اترا اور اس پر جو پہلے اترا اور یہ کہ تم میں اکثر بے حکم ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

(اے رسول(ص)) کہیے! اے اہل کتاب تم ہم پر کیا عیب لگاتے ہو؟ یہی کہ ہم اللہ پر، جو کچھ ہم پر اتارا گیا ہے۔ اس پر اور جو اس سے پہلے اتارا گیا، اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں (حقیقت یہ ہے کہ) تم میں سے زیادہ تر فاسق (نافرمان) ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
