يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرَّسُولُ لَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَلَمْ تُؤْمِن قُلُوبُهُمْ ۛ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ ۛ سَمَّٰعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ سَمَّٰعُونَ لِقَوْمٍ ءَاخَرِينَ لَمْ يَأْتُوكَ ۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلْكَلِمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوَاضِعِهِۦ ۖ يَقُولُونَ إِنْ أُوتِيتُمْ هَٰذَا فَخُذُوهُ وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْتَوْهُ فَٱحْذَرُوا۟ ۚ وَمَن يُرِدِ ٱللَّهُ فِتْنَتَهُۥ فَلَن تَمْلِكَ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يُرِدِ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُطَهِّرَ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا خِزْىٌۭ ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

O Messenger! Let not them grieve thee who vie one with another in the race to disbelief, of such as say with their mouths: [We believe,] but their hearts believe not, and of the Jews: listeners for the sake of falsehood, listeners on behalf of other folk who come not unto thee, changing words from their context and saying: If this be given unto you, receive it, but if this be not given unto you, then beware! He whom Allah doometh unto sin, thou (by thine efforts) wilt avail him naught against Allah. Those are they for whom the Will of Allah is that He cleanse not their hearts. Theirs in the world will be ignominy, and in the Hereafter an awful doom; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O Apostle! Do not grieve for those who are active in [promoting] unfaith, such as those who say, [We believe] with their mouths, but whose hearts have no faith, and the Jews who eavesdrop with the aim of [telling] lies [against you] and eavesdrop for other people who do not come to you. They pervert words from their meanings, [and] say, [If you are given this, take it, but if you are not given this, beware!] Yet whomever Allah wishes to mislead, you cannot avail him anything against Allah. They are the ones whose hearts Allah did not desire to purify. For them is disgrace in this world, and there is a great punishment for them in the Hereafter. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Messenger, do not be grieved about the people who run back to disbelief. They only say that they believe but, in fact, they have no faith in their hearts. Some Jews knowingly listen to lies and accept the lies which come from others, (Jews), who have no relation with you and who distort certain words of the Bible and say to the people, [Accept only those words which are the same as what We have told you. If you do not, then beware!] You can not help those whom God wants to try. God does not want to cleanse the hearts of such people. They lead a disgraceful life in this world and in the life hereafter they will suffer a great torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

O Apostle! let not those grieve you who strive together in hastening to unbelief from among those who say with their mouths: We believe, and their hearts do not believe, and from among those who are Jews; they are listeners for the sake of a lie, listeners for another people who have not come to you; they alter the words from their places, saying: If you are given this, take it, and if you are not given this, be cautious; and as for him whose temptation Allah desires, you cannot control anything for him with Allah. Those are they for whom Allah does not desire that He should purify their hearts; they shall have disgrace in this world, and they shall have a grievous chastisement in the hereafter. - Shakir, Habib

Messenger, do not be grieved by those who vie with one another in denying the truth; those who say with their tongues, [We believe,] but have no faith in their hearts; from among the Jews also, there are those who listen eagerly to any lies. They listen to you to convey to others [religious leaders] who do not come to you [out of pride and conceit]. They [these leaders] take words out of their context and say, [If this be given to you, receive it, but if not, then beware!] If anyone's trial is intended by God, you cannot in the least prevail against God on his behalf. Those whose hearts God does not intend to purify shall be subjected to disgrace in this world and a severe punishment in the Hereafter. - Wahiduddin Khan

اے رسول ایمان کا دعویٰ کرنے والوں میں جو لوگ کفر کی طرف جلد بازی سے بڑھ رہے ہیں ان کی حرکات سے آپ رنجیدہ نہ ہوں -یہ صرف زبان سے ایمان کا نام لیتے ہیں اور ان کے دل مومن نہیں ہیں اور یہودیوں میں سے بھی بعض ایسے ہیں جو جھوٹی باتیں سنتے ہیں اور دوسری قوم والے جو آپ کے پاس حاضر نہیں ہوئے انہیں سناتے ہیں - یہ کلمات کو ان کی جگہ سے ہٹا دیتے ہیں اور لوگوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ اگر پیغمبر کی طرف سے یہی دیا جائے تو لے لینا اور اگر یہ نہ دیا جائے تو پرہیز کرنا اور جس کے فتنہ کے بارے میں خدا ارادہ کرلے اس کے بارے میں آپ کا کوئی اختیار نہیں ہے یہ وہ افراد ہیں جن کے بارے میں خدا نے یہ ارادہ ہی نہیں کیا کہ زبردستی ان کے دلوں کو پاک کردے گا -ان کے لئے دنیا میں بھی رسوائی ہے اور آخرت میں بھی عذابِ عظیم ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے پیغمبرؐ! تمہارے لیے باعث رنج نہ ہوں وہ لوگ جو کفر کی راہ میں بڑی تیز گامی دکھا رہے ہیں خواہ وہ اُن میں سے ہوں جو منہ سے کہتے ہیں ہم ایمان لائے مگر دل اُن کے ایمان نہیں لائے، یا اُن میں سے ہوں جو یہودی بن گئے ہیں، جن کا حال یہ ہے کہ جھوٹ کے لیے کان لگاتے ہیں، اور دوسرے لوگوں کی خاطر، جو تمہارے پاس کبھی نہیں آئے، سن گن لیتے پھرتے ہیں، کتاب اللہ کے الفاظ کو اُن کا صحیح محل متعین ہونے کے باوجود اصل معنی سے پھیرتے ہیں، اور لوگوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تمہیں یہ حکم دیا جائے تو مانو نہیں تو نہ مانو جسے اللہ ہی نے فتنہ میں ڈالنے کا ارادہ کر لیا ہو تو اس کو اللہ کی گرفت سے بچانے کے لیے تم کچھ نہیں کرسکتے، یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں کو اللہ نے پاک کرنا نہ چاہا، ان کے لیے دنیا میں رسوائی ہے اور آخرت میں سخت سزا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے رسول! تمہیں غمگین نہ کریں وہ جو کفر پڑ دوڑتے ہیں جو کچھ وہ اپنے منہ سے کہتے ہیں ہم ایمان لائے اور ان کے دل مسلمان نہیں اور کچھ یہودی جھوٹ خوب سنتے ہیں اور لوگوں کی خوب سنتے ہیں جو تمہارے پاس حاضر نہ ہوئے اللہ کی باتوں کو ان کے ٹھکانوں کے بعد بدل دیتے ہیں، کہتے ہیں یہ حکم تمہیں ملے تو مانو اور یہ نہ ملے تو بچو اور جسے اللہ گمراہ کرنا چاہے تو ہرگز تو اللہ سے اس کا کچھ بنا نہ سکے گا، وہ ہیں کہ اللہ نے ان کا دل پاک کرنا نہ چاہا، انہیں دنیا میں رسوائی ہے، اور انہیں آخرت میں بڑا عذاب، - Ahmed Raza

اے رسول! وہ لوگ آپ کو غمگین نہ کریں جو کفر کی طرف تیزگامی سے بڑھ رہے ہوں۔ خواہ یہ ان لوگوں میں سے ہوں جو منہ سے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لائے، مگر ان کے دل ایمان نہیں لائے اور یا ان میں سے ہوں جو یہودی ہیں جھوٹ کے بڑے سننے والے ہیں اور سن گن لیتے ہیں دوسرے لوگوں کے لئے جو آپ کے پاس نہیں آئے۔ وہ (کتاب خدا کے) کلمات کو ان کے صحیح موقعوں سے ہٹا دیتے ہیں اور (تحریف کرنے کے بعد) کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تمہیں یہ حکم دیا جائے تو قبول کرو۔ اور اگر یہ نہ دیا جائے تو پرہیز کرو۔ اور اللہ جسے عذاب کرنا چاہے، تو آپ اس کے لئے کچھ نہیں کر سکتے۔ اللہ کے ہاں یہ وہ ہیں کہ اللہ نے (زبردستی) ان کے دلوں کو پاک کرنے کا ارادہ ہی نہیں کیا۔ ان کے لئے دنیا میں رسوائی ہے اور آخرت میں بہت بڑا عذاب ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Listeners for the sake of falsehood! Greedy for illicit gain! If then they have recourse unto thee (Muhammad) judge between them or disclaim jurisdiction. If thou disclaimest jurisdiction, then they cannot harm thee at all. But if thou judgest, judge between them with equity. Lo! Allah loveth the equitable. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Eavesdroppers with the aim of [telling] lies, eaters of the unlawful—if they come to you, judge between them, or disregard them. If you disregard them, they will not harm you in any way. But if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed Allah loves the just. - Qarai, Ali Quli

They deliberately listen to lies (for deceitful purposes) and live on usury. If they come to you (seeking your judgment to settle their differences), you may settle their disputes or keep aloof from them. Should you choose not to bother with them, it will not harm you in the least. If you decide to issue your decree, decide their case with justice. God loves those who are just. - Sarwar, Muhammad

یہ جھوٹ کے سننے والے اور حرام کے کھانے والے ہیں لہذا اگر آپ کے پاس مقدمہ لے کر آئیں تو آپ کو اختیار ہے کہ فیصلہ کردیں یا اعراض کرلیں کہ اگر اعراض بھی کرلیں گے تو یہ آپ کو کوئی نقصان نہ پہنچا سکیں گے لیکن اگر فیصلہ ہی کریں تو انصاف کے ساتھ کریں کہ خدا انصاف کرنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ جھوٹ سننے والے اور حرام کے مال کھانے والے ہیں، لہٰذا اگر یہ تمہارے پاس (اپنے مقدمات لے کر) آئیں تو تمہیں اختیار دیا جاتا ہے کہ چاہو ان کا فیصلہ کرو ورنہ انکار کر دو انکار کر دو تو یہ تمہارا کچھ بگاڑ نہیں سکتے، اور فیصلہ کرو تو پھر ٹھیک ٹھیک انصاف کے ساتھ کرو کہ اللہ انصاف کرنے والوں کو پسند کرتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بڑے جھوٹ سننے والے بڑے حرام خور تو اگر تمہارے حضور حاضر ہوں تو ان میں فیصلہ فرماؤ یا ان سے منہ پھیرلو اور اگر تم ان سے منہ پھیرلو گے تو وہ تمہارا کچھ نہ بگاڑیں گے اور اگر ان میں فیصلہ فرماؤ تو انصاف سے فیصلہ کرو، بیشک انصاف والے اللہ کو پسند ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

وَكَيْفَ يُحَكِّمُونَكَ وَعِندَهُمُ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ فِيهَا حُكْمُ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

How come they unto thee for judgment when they have the Torah, wherein Allah hath delivered judgment (for them)? Yet even after that they turn away. Such (folk) are not believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And how should they make you a judge, while with them is the Torah, in which is Allah]s judgement? Yet in spite of that, they turn their backs [on Him] and they are not believers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light, by which the prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests (judged) by such of Allah's Scripture as they were bidden to observe, and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are disbelievers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We sent down the Torah containing guidance and light. The prophets, who had submitted, judged by it for the Jews, and so did the rabbis and the scribes, as they were charged to preserve the Book of Allah and were witnesses to it. So do not fear the people, but fear Me, and do not sell My signs for a paltry gain. Those who do not judge by what Allah has sent down—it is they who are the faithless. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We had revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light. The Prophets who had submitted themselves to the will of God, judged the Jews by the laws of the Torah. So did the godly people and the Jewish scholars who remembered some parts of the Book of God and bore witness to it. Mankind, do not be afraid of people but have fear of Me. Surely We revealed the Taurat in which was guidance and light; with it the prophets who submitted themselves (to Allah) judged (matters) for those who were Jews, and the masters of Divine knowledge and the doctors, because they were required to guard (part) of the Book of Allah, and they were witnesses thereof; therefore fear not the people and fear Me, and do not take a small price for My communications; and whoever did not judge by what Allah revealed, those are they that are the unbelievers. - Shakir, Habib

ہم نے توراۃ نازل کی جس میں ہدایت اور روشنی تھی سارے نبی، جو مسلم تھے، اُسی کے مطابق اِن یہودی بن جانے والوں کے معاملات کا فیصلہ کرتے تھے، اور اِسی طرح ربانی اور احبار بھی (اسی پر فیصلہ کا مدار رکھتے تھے) کیونکہ انہیں کتاب اللہ کی حفاظت کا ذمہ دار بنایا گیا تھا اور وہ اس پر گواہ تھے پس (اے گروہ یہود!) تم لوگوں سے نہ ڈرو بلکہ مجھ سے ڈرو اور میری آیات کو ذرا ذرا سے معاوضے لے کر بیچنا چھوڑ دو جو لوگ اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ نہ کریں وہی کافر ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَآ أَنَّ ٱلنَّفْسَ بِٱلنَّفْسِ وَٱلْعَيْنَ بِٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱلْأَنفَ بِٱلْأَنفِ وَٱلْأُذُنَ بِٱلْأُذُنِ وَٱلسِّنَّ بِٱلسِّنِّ وَٱلْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌۭ ۚ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌۭ لَّهُۥ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And We prescribed for them therein: The life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. But whoso forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be expiation for him. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are wrong-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

In it We prescribed for them: a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and retaliation for wounds. Yet whoever remits it out of charity, that shall be an atonement for him. Those who do not judge by what Allah has sent down—it is they who are the wrongdoers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

In the Torah We made mandatory for the Jews these rules of retaliation: Capital punishment for the murder of a person; an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and a just compensation for a wound. If the perpetrator is forgiven by the affected party, this will be an expiation of his crime. Those who do not judge according to what God has revealed are unjust. - Sarwar, Muhammad

توراۃ میں ہم نے یہودیوں پر یہ حکم لکھ دیا تھا کہ جان کے بدلے جان، آنکھ کے بدلے آنکھ، ناک کے بدلے ناک، کان کے بدلے کان، دانت کے بدلے دانت، اور تمام زخموں کے لیے برابر کا بدلہ پھر جو قصاص کا صدقہ کر دے تو وہ اس کے لیے کفارہ ہے اور جو لوگ اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ نہ کریں وہی ظالم ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے توریت میں ان پر واجب کیا کہ جان کے بدلے جان اور آنکھ کے بدلے آنکھ اور ناک کے بدلے ناک اور کان کے بدلے کان اور دانت کے بدلے دانت اور زخموں میں بدلہ ہے پھر جو دل کی خوشی سے بدلہ کراوے تو وہ اس کا گناہ اتار دے گا اور جو اللہ کے اتارے پر حکم نہ کرے تو وہی لوگ ظالم ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him in the Torah, and We bestowed on him the Gospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was (revealed) before it in the Torah - a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil). - Pickthall, Marmaduke
