سَيَقُولُ

سَيَقُولُ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ إِذَا ٱنطَلَقْتُمْ إِلَىٰ مَغَانِمَ لِتَأْخُذُوهَا ذَرُونَا نَتَّبِعْكُمْ ۖ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُبَدِّلُوا۟ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ قُل لَّن تَتَّبِعُونَا كَذَٰلِكُمْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ فَسَيَقُولُونَ بَلْ تَحْسُدُونَنَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

Those who were left behind will say, when ye set forth to capture booty: Let us go with you. They fain would change the verdict of Allah. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Ye shall not go with us. Thus hath Allah said beforehand. Then they will say: Ye are envious of us. Nay, but they understand not, save a little.

[In the near future] when you will set out to capture booty, those who stayed behind [in this journey] will say, : [Let us follow you.] They desire to change the word of Allah. Say, [You will never follow us! Allah has said thus beforehand.] Then they will say, [You are envious of us.] Indeed, they do not understand but a little.

The laggardly Bedouins will say, [When you leave to collect the spoils, let us follow you.] They want to alter the command of God (that only the participating believers are entitled to such benefit). Tell them, [You can never follow us for such a purpose. God has said before and He will say again (what type of people you are). In fact, you are jealous of us.] The truth is that they understand very little.

Those who are left behind will say when you set forth for the gaining of acquisitions: Allow us (that) we may follow you. They desire to change the world of Allah. Say: By no means shall you follow us; thus did Allah say before. But they will say: Nay! you are jealous of us. Nay! they do not understand but a little.

When you [believers] set off to gather the spoils, those that stayed behind will say, [Let us come with you.] They want to change God's word, but tell them, [You shall not follow us. God has declared this beforehand.] Then they will say, [You are jealous of us.] But how little they understand!

عنقریب یہ پیچھے رہ جانے والے تم سے کہیں گے جب تم مال غنیمت لینے کے لئے جانے لگو گے کہ اجازت دو ہم بھی تمہارے ساتھ چلے چلیں یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے کلام کو تبدیل کر دیں تو تم کہہ دو کہ تم لو گ ہمارے ساتھ نہیں آسکتے ہو اللہ نے یہ بات پہلے سے طے کردی ہے پھر یہ کہیں گے کہ تم لوگ ہم سے حسد رکھتے ہو حالانکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ بات کو بہت کم سمجھ پاتے ہیں

جب تم مال غنیمت حاصل کرنے کے لیے جانے لگو گے تو یہ پیچھے چھوڑے جانے والے لوگ تم سے ضرور کہیں گے کہ ہمیں بھی اپنے ساتھ چلنے دو یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے فرمان کو بدل دیں اِن سے صاف کہہ دینا کہ ——تم ہرگز ہمارے ساتھ نہیں چل سکتے، اللہ پہلے ہی یہ فرما چکا ہے—— یہ کہیں گے کہ ——نہیں، بلکہ تم لوگ ہم سے حسد کر رہے ہو—— (حالانکہ بات حسد کی نہیں ہے) بلکہ یہ لوگ صحیح بات کو کم ہی سمجھتے ہیں

اب کہیں گے پیچھے بیٹھ رہنے والے جب تم غنیمتیں لینے چلو تو ہمیں بھی اپنے پیچھے آنے دو وہ چاہتے ہیں اللہ کا کلام بدل دیں تم فرماؤ ہرگز ہمارے ساتھ نہ آؤ اللہ نے پہلے سے یونہی فرمادیا تو اب کہیں گے بلکہ تم ہم سے جلتے ہو بلکہ وہ بات نہ سمجھتے تھے مگر تھوڑی

جب تم (جنگِ خیبر میں) غنیمتیں حاصل کرنے کیلئے چلوگے تو جو پیچھے چھوڑ دئیے گئے وہ ضرور کہیں گے کہ ہمیں بھی اجازت دو کہ ہم آپ کے پیچھے آئیں وہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کی بات کو بدل دیں۔ آپ(ص) کہہ دیجئے! کہ تم اب کبھی ہمارے پیچھے نہیں آسکتے! اللہ پہلے ہی ایسی بات کہہ چکا ہے اس پر وہ ضرور کہیں گے کہ بلکہ تم ہم سے حسد کرتے ہو بلکہ یہ (کم عقل) بہت ہی کم بات سمجھتے ہیں۔

قُل لِّلْمُخَلَّفِينَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ سَتُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ أُو۟لِى بَأْسٍۢ شَدِيدٍۢ تُقَٰتِلُونَهُمْ أَوْ يُسْلِمُونَ ۖ فَإِن تُطِيعُوا۟ يُؤْتِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَجْرًا حَسَنًۭا ۖ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ كَمَا تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا

Say unto those of the wandering Arabs who were left behind: Ye will be called against a folk of mighty prowess, to fight them until they surrender; and if ye obey, Allah will give you a fair reward; but if ye turn away as ye did turn away before, He will punish you with a painful doom.

Say to the Bedouins who stayed behind, [[Later on] you will be called against a people of a great might: they will either embrace Islam, or you will fight them. So if you obey, Allah will give you a good reward; but if you turn away like you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment.]

Tell the laggardly Bedouins, [You will be called to face strong people whom you will fight right to the end or who will submit to you. If you obey the Messenger, God will give you a good reward. But if you turn away as you did before, God will make you suffer a painful torment.

Say to those of the dwellers of the desert who were left behind: You shall soon be invited (to fight) against a people possessing mighty prowess; you will fight against them until they submit; then if you obey, Allah will grant you a good reward; and if you turn back as you turned back before, He will punish you with a painful punishment.

آپ ان پیچھے رہ جانے والوں سے کہہ دیں کہ عنقریب تمہیں ایک ایسی قوم کی طرف بلایا جائے گا جو انتہائی سخت جنگجو قوم ہوگی کہ تم ان سے جنگ ہی کرتے رہو گے یا وہ مسلمان ہوجائیں گے تو اگر تم خدا کی اطاعت کرو گے تو وہ تمہیں بہترین اجر عنایت کرے گا اور اگر پھر منہ پھیر لو گے جس طرح پہلے کیا تھا تو تمہیں دردناک عذاب کے ذریعہ سزا دے گا

اِن پیچھے چھوڑے جانے والے بدوی عربوں سے کہنا کہ ——عنقریب تمہیں ایسے لوگوں سے لڑنے کے لیے بلایا جائے گا جو بڑے زور آور ہیں تم کو ان سے جنگ کرنی ہوگی یا وہ مطیع ہو جائیں گے اُس وقت اگر تم نے حکم جہاد کی اطاعت کی تو اللہ تمہیں اچھا اجر دے گا، اور اگر تم پھر اُسی طرح منہ موڑ گئے جس طرح پہلے موڑ چکے ہو تو اللہ تم کو دردناک سزا دے گا

ان پیچھے رہ گئے ہوئے گنواروں سے فرماؤ عنقریب تم ایک سخت لڑائی والی قوم کی طرف بلائے جاؤ گے کہ ان سے لڑو یا وہ مسلمان ہوجائیں، پھر اگر تم فرمان مانو گے اللہ تمہیں اچھا ثواب دے گا، ور اگر پھر گے جیسے پہلے پھر گئے تو تمھیں درد ناک عذاب دے گا،

آپ(ص) ان پیچھے والے صحرائی عربوں سے کہیے! عنقریب تمہیں ایک سخت جنگجو قوم کے خلاف جہاد کیلئے بلایا جائے گا تم ان سے لڑوگےیا وہ اسلام لائیں گے پس اگر تم نے اطاعت کی تو اللہ تمہیں بہت اچھا اجر عطا کرے گا۔ اور اگر تم نے اسی طرح منہ موڑا جس طرح پہلے منہ موڑا تھا تو وہ تمہیں (دردناک) عذاب دے گا۔

لَّيْسَ عَلَى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ حَرَجٌۭ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌۭ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْمَرِيضِ حَرَجٌۭ ۗ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۖ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ يُعَذِّبْهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا

⦿

There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom.

There is no blame on the blind, nor is there any blame on the lame, nor is there blame on the sick [if they are unable to go out with the troops to face the enemies]; and whoever obeys Allah and His Apostle, He will admit him into gardens with streams running in them, and whoever refuses to comply, He will punish him with a painful punishment.

It is not an offense for the blind, the lame, or the sick not to take part in the battle. Whoever obeys God and His Messenger will be admitted to the gardens wherein streams flow. God will make whoever turns away suffer a painful torment.

There is no harm in the blind, nor is there any harm in the lame, nor is there any harm in the sick (if they do not go forth); and whoever obeys Allah and His Apostle, He will cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, and whoever turns back, He will punish him with a painful punishment.

اگر اندھا اور لنگڑا اور مریض جہاد کے لیے نہ آئے تو کوئی حرج نہیں جو کوئی اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرے گا اللہ اسے اُن جنتوں میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی، اور جو منہ پھیرے گا اسے وہ دردناک عذاب دے گا——

اندھے پر تنگی نہیں اور نہ لنگڑے پر مضائقہ اور نہ بیمار پر مواخذہ اور جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا حکم مانے اللہ اسے باغوں میں لے جائے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں اور جو پھر جائے گا اسے دردناک عذاب فرمائے گا،

اندھے پر کوئی مضائقہ نہیں ہے اورنہ ہی لنگڑے پر کوئی حرج ہے اور نہ مریض پر کوئی گناہ اور جو خدا اور رسول(ص) کی اطاعت کرے گا۔ تو اللہ اسے ان بہشتوں میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں دواں ہیں اور جو رُوگردانی کرے گا تو اسے دردناک عذاب دے گا۔

لَّقَدْ رَضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ يُبَايِعُونَكَ تَحْتَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَأَنزَلَ ٱلسَّكِينَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَثَٰبَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا قَرِيبًۭا

Allah was well pleased with the believers when they swore allegiance unto thee beneath the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down peace of reassurance on them, and hath rewarded them with a near victory;

Allah was certainly pleased with the faithful when they swore allegiance to you under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down composure on them, and requited them with a victory near at hand

اللہ مومنوں سے خوش ہو گیا جب وہ درخت کے نیچے تم سے بیعت کر رہے تھے ان کے دلوں کا حال اُس کو معلوم تھا، اس لیے اس نے ان پر سکینت نازل فرمائی، ان کو انعام میں قریبی فتح بخشی

بیشک اللہ راضی ہوا ایمان والوں سے جب وہ اس پیڑ کے نیچے تمہاری بیعت کرتے تھے تو اللہ نے جانا جو ان کے دلوں میں ہے تو ان پر اطمینان اتارا اور انہیں جلد آنے والی فتح کا انعام دیا

بےشک اللہ مؤمنین سے راضی ہوا جب کہ وہ درخت کے نیچے آپ(ص) سے بیعت کر رہے تھے تو اس نے جان لیا جو کچھ ان کے دلوں میں تھا۔ پس اس نے ان پر سکون و اطمینان نازل کیا اور انہیں انعام میں ایک قریبی فتح عنا یت فرمائی۔

And much booty that they will capture. Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

وَعَدَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَغَانِمَ كَثِيرَةًۭ تَأْخُذُونَهَا فَعَجَّلَ لَكُمْ هَٰذِهِۦ وَكَفَّ أَيْدِىَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَنكُمْ وَلِتَكُونَ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ صِرَٰطًۭا مُّسْتَقِيمًۭا

Allah promiseth you much booty that ye will capture, and hath given you this in advance, and hath withheld men's hands from you, that it may be a token for the believers, and that He may guide you on a right path.

Allah has promised you abundant spoils, which you will capture. He has expedited this one for you, and withheld men]s hands from you, so that it may be a sign for the faithful, and that He may guide you to a straight path.

وَأُخْرَىٰ لَمْ تَقْدِرُوا۟ عَلَيْهَا قَدْ أَحَاطَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرًۭا

And other (gain), which ye have not been able to achieve, Allah will compass it, Allah is Able to do all things.

And if those who disbelieve join battle with you they will take to flight, and afterward they will find no protecting friend nor helper.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.
