مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ

وَمَثْوَىٰكُمْ

فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَىٰكُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So know (O Muhammad) that there is no Allah save Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy sin and for believing men and believing women. Allah knoweth (both) your place of turmoil and your place of rest. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُورَةٌۭ ۖ فَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌۭ مُّحْكَمَةٌۭ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا ٱلْقِتَالُ ۙ رَأَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ ٱلْمَغْشِىِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ فَأَوْلَىٰ لَهُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And those who believe say: If only a surah were revealed! But when a decisive surah is revealed and war is mentioned therein, thou seest those in whose hearts is a disease looking at thee with the look of men fainting unto death. Therefor woe unto them! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The faithful say, [If only a surah were sent down!] But when a conclusive surah is sent down and war is mentioned in it, you see those in whose hearts is a sickness looking upon you with the look of someone fainting at death. So woe to them! - Qarai, Ali Quli

The believers say, [Why is a chapter about jihad - fighting for the cause of God - not revealed?] But when such a chapter, with clear commands and a mention of jihad is revealed, you will see those whose hearts are sick look at you as if suffering the agony of death. And those who believe say: Why has not a chapter been revealed? But when a decisive chapter is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein you see those in whose hearts is a disease look to you with the look of one fainting because of death. Woe to them then! - Shakir, Habib

Those who believe ask why no chapter [about fighting] has been sent down. Yet when a decisive chapter that mentions fighting is sent down, you can see the sick of heart looking at you [Prophet] as if they were under the shadow of death. Therefore, woe to them! - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے ہیں وہ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ آخر جہاد کے بارے میں سورہ کیوں نہیں نازل ہوتا اور جب سورہ نازل ہوگیا اور اس میں جہاد کا ذکر کردیا گیا تو آپ نے دیکھا کہ جن کے دلوں میں مرض تھا وہ آپ کی طرف اس طرح دیکھتے رہ گئے جیسے موت کی سی غشی طاری ہوگئی ہو تو ان کے واسطے ویل اور افسوس ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جو لوگ ایمان لائے ہیں وہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ کوئی سورت کیوں نہیں نازل کی جاتی (جس میں جنگ کا حکم دیا جائے) مگر جب ایک محکم سورت نازل کر دی گئی جس میں جنگ کا ذکر تھا تو تم نے دیکھا کہ جن کے دلوں میں بیماری تھی وہ تمہاری طرف اس طرح دیکھ رہے ہیں جیسے کسی پر موت چھا گئی ہو افسوس اُن کے حال پر - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور مسلمان کہتے ہیں کوئی سورت کیوں نہ اتاری گئی پھر جب کوئی پختہ سورت اتاری گئی اور اس میں جہاد کا حکم فرمایا گیا تو تم دیکھو گے انہیں جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے کہ تمہاری طرف اس کا دیکھنا دیکھتے ہیں جس پر مُرونی چھائی ہو، تو ان کے حق میں بہتر یہ تھا کہ فرمانبرداری کرتے - Ahmed Raza

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے ہیں وہ کہتے ہیں کہ (جہاد کے بارے میں) کوئی سورہ کیوں نازل نہیں کی جاتی؟ پس جب ایک محکم سورہ نازل کی جاتی ہے اور اس میں قتل و قتال کا ذکر ہوتا ہے تو آپ(ص) ان لوگوں کو دیکھئے گا کہ جن کے دلوں میں (نفاق کی) بیماری ہے وہ آپ(ص) کی طرف اس طرح دیکھتے ہیں جس طرح وہ شخص دیکھتا ہے جس پر موت کی غشی طاری ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Lo! those who turn back after the guidance hath been manifested unto them, Satan hath seduced them, and He giveth them the rein. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who turned their backs after the guidance had become clear to them, it was Satan who had seduced them, and he had given them [far-flung] hopes. - Qarai, Ali Quli

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُوا۟ مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ سَنُطِيعُكُمْ فِى بَعْضِ ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِسْرَارَهُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That is because they say unto those who hate what Allah hath revealed: We will obey you in some matters; and Allah knoweth their secret talk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَآ أَسْخَطَ ٱللَّهَ وَكَرِهُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
That will be because they followed that which angereth Allah, and hated that which pleaseth Him. Therefor He hath made their actions vain. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That, because they pursued what displeased Allah, and loathed His pleasure. So He has made their works fail. - Qarai, Ali Quli

for their following that which had incurred God's anger, and their hatred to please God. Thus, God has made their deeds devoid of all virtue. - Sarwar, Muhammad

That is because they follow what is displeasing to Allah and are averse to His pleasure, therefore He has made null their deeds. - Shakir, Habib

because they followed the way that made God wrathful, and hated to adopt the way of His pleasure? So He made their actions come to nothing. - Wahiduddin Khan

یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے ان باتوں کا اتباع کیا ہے جو خدا کو ناراض کرنے والی ہیں اور اس کی مرضی کو ناپسند کیا ہے تو خدا نے بھی ان کے اعمال کو برباد کرکے رکھ دیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ اسی لیے تو ہوگا کہ انہوں نے اُس طریقے کی پیروی کی جو اللہ کو ناراض کرنے والا ہے اور اُس کی رضا کا راستہ اختیار کرنا پسند نہ کیا اِسی بنا پر اُس نے ان کے سب اعمال ضائع کر دیے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یہ اس لیے کہ وہ ایسی بات کے تابع ہوئے جس میں اللہ کی ناراضی ہے اور اس کی خوشی انہیں گوارا نہ ہوئی تو اس نے ان کے اعمال اَکارت کردیے، - Ahmed Raza
