وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَٰتِكُمْ فِى حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ

⦿

And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (it will be said): Ye squandered your good things in the life of the world and sought comfort therein. Now this day ye are rewarded with the doom of ignominy because ye were disdainful in the land without a right, and because ye used to transgress.

The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [they will be told,] [You have exhausted your good things in the life of the world and enjoyed them. So today you will be requited with a humiliating punishment for your acting arrogantly in the earth unduly, and because you used to transgress.]

On the day when the disbelievers will be exposed to the fire, they will be told, [You have spent your happy days during your worldly life and enjoyed them. On this day you will suffer a humiliating torment for your unreasonably arrogant manners on earth and for the evil deeds which you have committed].

And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: You did away with your good things in your life of the world and you enjoyed them for a while, so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of abasement because you were unjustly proud in the land and because you transgressed.

On the Day when those who deny the truth are brought before the Fire, it will be said to them, [You have had the good things of the life of this world, and you enjoyed them. Now this Day you shall be requited with humiliating punishment, because you were arrogant in the land without justification, and because you acted rebelliously.]

اور جس دن کفار کو جہنمّ کے سامنے پیش کیا جائے گا کہ تم نے اپنے سارے مزے دنیاہی کی زندگی میں لے لئے اور وہاں آرام کرلیا تو آج ذلّت کے عذاب کی سزادی جائے گی کہ تم روئے زمین میں بلاوجہ اکڑ رہے تھے اور اپنے پروردگار کے احکام کی نافرمانی کررہے تھے

پھر جب یہ کافر آگ کے سامنے لا کھڑے کیے جائیں گے تو ان سے کہا جائے گا: ——تم اپنے حصے کی نعمتیں اپنی دنیا کی زندگی میں ختم کر چکے اور ان کا لطف تم نے اٹھا لیا، اب جو تکبر تم زمین میں کسی حق کے بغیر کرتے رہے اور جو نافرمانیاں تم نے کیں اُن کی پاداش میں آج تم کو ذلت کا عذاب دیا جائے گا——

اور ان پر ظلم نہ ہوگا، اور جس دن کافر آگ پر پیش کیے جائیں گے، ان سے فرمایا جائے گا تم اپنے حصہ کی پاک چیزیں اپنی دنیا ہی کی زندگی میں فنا کرچکے اور انہیں برت چکے تو آج تمہیں ذلت کا عذاب بدلہ دیا جائے گا سزا اس کی کہ تم زمین میں ناحق تکبر کرتے تھے اور سزا اس کی کہ حکم عدولی کرتے تھے

اور جس دن کافروں کو دوزخ کے سامنے لایا جائے گا (تو ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ) تم اپنے حصے کی نعمتیں دنیاوی زندگی میںلے چکے اور ان سے فائدہ اٹھا چکے آج تمہیں ذلت کا عذاب دیا جائے گا بوجہ اس کے کہ تم زمین میں ناحق تکبر کرتے تھے اور نافرمانیاں کرتے تھے۔

وَٱذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُۥ بِٱلْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦٓ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

And make mention (O Muhammad) of the brother of A'ad when he warned his folk among the wind-curved sandhills - and verily warners came and went before and after him - saying: Serve none but Allah. Lo! I fear for you the doom of a tremendous Day.

And mention [Hud] the brother of [Ad, when he warned his people at Ahqaf—and warners have passed away before and after him—saying, [Do not worship anyone but Allah. Indeed I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day.]

(Muhammad), recall the brother of the people of Ad, when he warned his people in the valley of al-ahqaf saying, [There existed many warners before and after him. Do not worship anything other than God. I am afraid for you about the torment of the great Day].

اور قوم عاد کے بھائی ہود کو یاد کیجئے کہ انہوں نے اپنی قوم کو احقاف میں ڈرایا .... اور ان کے قبل و بعد بہت سے پیغمبر علیھ السّلام گزر چکے ہیں .... کہ خبردار اللہ کے علاوہ کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو میں تمہارے بارے میں ایک بڑے سخت دن کے عذاب سے خوفزدہ ہوں

ذرا اِنہیں عاد کے بھائی (ہودؑ) کا قصہ سناؤ جبکہ اُس نے احقاف میں اپنی قوم کو خبردار کیا تھا اور ایسے خبردار کرنے والے اُس سے پہلے بھی گزر چکے تھے اور اس کے بعد بھی آتے رہے کہ ——اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہ کرو، مجھے تمہارے حق میں ایک بڑے ہولناک دن کے عذاب کا اندیشہ ہے——

اور یاد کرو عاد کے ہم قوم کو جب اس نے ان کو سرزمینِ احقاف میں ڈرایا اور بیشک اس سے پہلے ڈر سنانے والے گزر چکے اور اس کے بعد آئے کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کو نہ پُوجو، بیشک مجھے تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب کا اندیشہ ہے،

(اے رسول(ص)) قومِ عاد کے بھائی (جنابِ ہود(ع)) کاذکر کیجئے جبکہ انہوں نے اپنی قوم کو مقامِ احقاف (ریت کے ٹیلوں والی بستی) میں ڈرایا تھا جبکہ بہت سے ڈرانے والے ان سے پہلے بھی گزر چکے اوران کے بعد بھی (جنابِ ہود(ع) نے کہا کہ) اللہ کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو (ورنہ) مجھے تمہارے بارے میں ایک بڑے (ہولناک) دن کے عذاب کا اندیشہ ہے۔

They said: Hast come to turn us away from our gods? Then bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us, if thou art of the truthful.

They said, [Have you come to turn us away from our gods? Then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are truthful.

They said, [Have you come to turn us away from our gods? Show us that with which you threaten us if you are truthful].

ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ کیا تم اسی لئے آئے ہو کہ ہمیں ہمارے خداؤں سے منحرف کردو تو اس عذاب کو لے آؤ جس سے ہمیں ڈرا رہے ہو اگر اپنی بات میں سچے ہو

انہوں نے کہا ——کیا تو اِس لیے آیا ہے کہ ہمیں بہکا کر ہمارے معبودوں سے برگشتہ کر دے؟ اچھا تو لے آ اپنا وہ عذاب جس سے تو ہمیں ڈراتا ہے اگر واقعی تو سچا ہے——

بولے کیا تم اس لیے آئے کہ ہمیں ہمارے معبودوں سے پھیر دو، تو ہم پر لاؤ جس کا ہمیں وعدہ دیتے ہو اگر تم سچے ہو،

He said: The knowledge is with Allah only. I convey unto you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see you are a folk that know not.

He said, [The knowledge [of when that threat will be carried out] is with Allah alone. I communicate to you what I have been sent with. But I see that you are a senseless lot.]

He said, [Only God has the knowledge (of the coming of such torment). I preach to you the message that I have brought, but I can see that you are an ignorant people].

He said: The knowledge is only with Allah, and I deliver to you the message with which I am sent, but I see you are a people who are ignorant.

انہوں نے کہا کہ علم تو بس خدا کے پاس ہے اور میں اسی کے پیغام کو پہنچادیتا ہوں جو میرے حوالے کیا گیا ہے لیکن میں تمہیں بہرحال جاہل قوم سمجھ رہا ہوں

اُس نے کہا کہ ——اِس کا علم تو اللہ کو ہے، میں صرف وہ پیغام تمہیں پہنچا رہا ہوں جسے دے کر مجھے بھیجا گیا ہے مگر میں دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ تم لوگ جہالت برت رہے ہو——

اس نے فرمایا اس کی خبر تو اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے میں تو تمہیں اپنے رب کے پیام پہنچاتا ہوں ہاں میری دانست میں تم نرے جاہل لوگ ہو

جنابِ ہود(ع) نے کہا اس (نزولِ عذاب) کا علم تو بس اللہ کے پاس ہے میں تو صرف تم تک وہ (پیغام) پہنچا رہا ہوں جس کے ساتھ میں بھیجا گیا ہوں۔ لیکن میں تمہیں دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ تم بالکل جاہل قوم ہو۔

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًۭا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا عَارِضٌۭ مُّمْطِرُنَا ۚ بَلْ هُوَ مَا ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِۦ ۖ رِيحٌۭ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

Then, when they beheld it as a dense cloud coming toward their valleys, they said: Here is a cloud bringing us rain. Nay, but it is that which ye did seek to hasten, a wind wherein is painful torment,

When they saw it as a cloud advancing toward their valleys, they said, [This cloud brings us rain.] [No, it is what you sought to hasten: a hurricane carrying a painful punishment,

When they saw the torment as a cloud proceeding to their valleys, they said, [This cloud will bring us rain.] He said, [No, it is the torment which you wanted to suffer immediately. It is a wind bearing and painful torment.

So when they saw it as a cloud appearing in the sky advancing towards their valleys, they said: This is a cloud which will give us rain. Nay! it is what you sought to hasten on, a blast of wind in which is a painful punishment,

So, when they saw it in the shape of a dense cloud approaching their valleys, they exclaimed, [This is only a heavy cloud which will bring us [welcome] rain!] [But Hud said]: [By no means! It is the very thing which you sought to hasten -- a wind bearing grievous suffering

اس کے بعد جب ان لوگوں نے بادل کو دیکھا کہ ان کی وادیوں کی طرف چلا آرہا ہے تو کہنے لگے کہ یہ بادل ہمارے اوپر برسنے والا ہے.... حالانکہ یہ وہی عذاب ہے جس کی تمہیں جلدی تھی یہ وہی ہوا ہے جس کے اندر دردناک عذاب ہے

پھر جب انہوں نے اُس عذاب کو اپنی وادیوں کی طرف آتے دیکھا تو کہنے لگے ——یہ بادل ہے جو ہم کو سیراب کر دے گا—— ——نہیں، بلکہ یہ وہی چیز ہے جس کے لیے تم جلدی مچا رہے تھے یہ ہوا کا طوفان ہے جس میں دردناک عذاب چلا آ رہا ہے

پھر جب انہوں نے عذاب کو دیکھا بادل کی طرح آسمان کے کنارے میں پھیلا ہوا ان کی وادیوں کی طرف آتا بولے یہ بادل ہے کہ ہم پر برسے گا بلکہ یہ تو وہ ہے جس کی تم جلدی مچاتے تھے، ایک آندھی ہے جس میں دردناک عذاب،

پس جب انہوں نے (عذاب) کو ایک بادل کی صورت میں اپنی وادیوں کی طرف آتے ہوئے دیکھا تو کہنے لگے کہ یہ بادل تو ہم پر برسنے والا ہے بلکہ یہ وہ (عذاب) ہے جس کی تم جلدی کر رہے تھے (یہ تند و تیز) ہوا ہے جس میں دردناک عذاب ہے۔

تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۭ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ لَا يُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Destroying all things by commandment of its Lord. And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.

یہ حکم خدا سے ہر شے کو تباہ و برباد کردے گی. نتیجہ یہ ہوا کہ سوائے مکانات کے کچھ نہ نظر آیا اور ہم اسی طرح مجرم قوم کو سزا دیا کرتے ہیں

اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر چیز کو تباہ کر ڈالے گا—— آخرکار اُن کا حال یہ ہوا کہ اُن کے رہنے کی جگہوں کے سوا وہاں کچھ نظر نہ آتا تھا اِس طرح ہم مجرموں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں

ہر چیز کو تباہ کر ڈالتی ہے اپنے رب کے حکم سے تو صبح رہ گئے کہ نظر نہ آتے تھے مگر ان کے سُونے مکان، ہم ایسی ہی سزا دیتے ہیں مجرموں کو،

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِيمَآ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًۭا وَأَبْصَٰرًۭا وَأَفْـِٔدَةًۭ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَآ أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ وَلَآ أَفْـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا۟ يَجْحَدُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

And verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you, and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and what they used to mock befell them.

Certainly We had granted them power in respects that We have not granted you, and We had vested them with hearing and sight and hearts. But neither their hearing availed them in any way nor did their sight, nor their hearts when they used to impugn the signs of Allah. So they were besieged by what they used to deride.

اُن کو ہم نے وہ کچھ دیا تھا جو تم لوگوں کو نہیں دیا ہے اُن کو ہم نے کان، آنکھیں اور دل، سب کچھ دے رکھے تھے، مگر نہ وہ کان اُن کے کسی کام آئے، نہ آنکھیں، نہ دل، کیونکہ وہ اللہ کی آیات کا انکار کرتے تھے، اور اُسی چیز کے پھیر میں وہ آ گئے جس کا وہ مذاق اڑاتے تھے

اور بیشک ہم نے انہیں وہ مقدور دیے تھے جو تم کو نہ دیے اور ان کے لیے کان اور آنکھ اور دل بنائے تو ان کے کام کان اور آنکھیں اور دل کچھ کام نہ آئے جبکہ وہ اللہ کی آیتوں کا انکار کرتے تھے اور انہیں گھیرلیا اس عذاب نے جس کی ہنسی بناتے تھے،

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
