وَمِن
And from
قَبْلِهِۦ
before it,
كِتَٰبُ
book of
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosa
إِمَامًۭا
as a director
وَرَحْمَةًۭ
and blessing;
ۚ
وَهَٰذَا
and this
كِتَٰبٌۭ
book of
مُّصَدِّقٌۭ
confirmation
لِّسَانًا
that is of a language
عَرَبِيًّۭا
expressed clearly
لِّيُنذِرَ
for it to be a warning to
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ظَلَمُوا۟
are in darkness,
وَبُشْرَىٰ
and glad tidings
لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
for the good-doers.
٤٦
١٢
وَمِن قَبْلِهِۦ كِتَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامًۭا وَرَحْمَةًۭ ۚ وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٌۭ مُّصَدِّقٌۭ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّۭا لِّيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ And from before it, book of Moosa as a director and blessing; and this book of confirmation that is of a language expressed clearly for it to be a warning to the ones who are in darkness, and glad tidings for the good-doers.

When before it there was the Scripture of Moses, an example and a mercy; and this is a confirming Scripture in the Arabic language, that it may warn those who do wrong and bring good tidings for the righteous. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Yet before it the Book of Moses was a guide and mercy, and this is a Book in the Arabic language, which confirms it, [sent] to warn the wrongdoers, and is a [bearer of] good news for the virtuous. - Qarai, Ali Quli

حالانکہ اِس سے پہلے موسیٰؑ کی کتاب رہنما اور رحمت بن کر آ چکی ہے، اور یہ کتاب اُس کی تصدیق کرنے والی زبان عربی میں آئی ہے تاکہ ظالموں کو متنبہ کر دے اور نیک روش اختیار کرنے والوں کو بشارت دے دے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس سے پہلے موسیٰ کی کتاب سے پیشوا اور مہربانی، اور یہ کتاب ہے تصدیق فرماتی عربی زبان میں کہ ظالموں کو ڈر سنائے، اور نیکوں کو بشارت، - Ahmed Raza

إِنَّ
Surely
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
قَالُوا۟
said,
رَبُّنَا
[Our Rabb
ٱللَّهُ
is That One],
ثُمَّ
then
ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟
stood on it,
فَلَا
then no
خَوْفٌ
intimidation
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon them,
وَلَا
and not
هُمْ
they are
يَحْزَنُونَ
sorrowful.
٤٦
١٣
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ Surely the ones who said, [Our Rabb is That One], then stood on it, then no intimidation upon them, and not they are sorrowful.

Lo! those who say: Our Lord is Allah, and thereafter walk aright, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who say, [Our Lord is Allah,] and then remain steadfast, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who have said, [Our Lord is God,] and are steadfast in their belief need have no fear or be grieved. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely those who say, Our Lord is Allah, then they continue on the right way, they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve. - Shakir, Habib

Surely those who say, [Our Lord is God,] and remain firm [on that path] shall feel no fear, nor shall they grieve: - Wahiduddin Khan

بیشک جن لوگوں نے اللہ کو اپنا رب کہا اور اسی پر جمے رہے ان کے لئے نہ کوئی خوف ہے اور نہ وہ رنجیدہ ہونے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یقیناً جن لوگوں نے کہہ دیا کہ اللہ ہی ہمارا رب ہے، پھر اُس پر جم گئے، اُن کے لیے نہ کوئی خوف ہے اور نہ وہ غمگین ہوں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بیشک وہ جنہوں نے کہا ہمارا رب اللہ ہے پھر ثابت قدم رہے نہ ان پر خوف نہ ان کو غم - Ahmed Raza

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those are
أَصْحَٰبُ
people of
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
the paradise,
خَٰلِدِينَ
living
فِيهَا
therein
جَزَآءًۢ
as a reward
بِمَا
due to what
كَانُوا۟
they had
يَعْمَلُونَ
done.
Those are people of the paradise, living therein as a reward due to what they had done.

Such are rightful owners of the Garden, immortal therein, as a reward for what they used to do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They shall be the inhabitants of paradise, remaining in it [forever]—a reward for what they used to do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

They will be the dwellers of Paradise wherein they will live forever as a reward for what they have done. - Sarwar, Muhammad

١٥
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ إِحْسَٰنًا ۖ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرْهًۭا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًۭا ۖ وَحَمْلُهُۥ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ ثَلَٰثُونَ شَهْرًا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةًۭ قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى فِى ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ ۖ إِنِّى تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And We have commended unto man kindness toward parents. His mother beareth him with reluctance, and bringeth him forth with reluctance, and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till, when he attaineth full strength and reacheth forty years, he saith: My Lord! Arouse me that I may give thanks for the favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and that I may do right acceptable unto Thee. And be gracious unto me in the matter of my seed. Lo! I have turned unto Thee repentant, and lo! I am of those who surrender (unto Thee). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We have enjoined man to be kind to his parents. His mother has carried him in travail, and bore him in travail, and his gestation and weaning take thirty months. When he comes of age and reaches forty years, he says, [My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing with which You have blessed me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which please You, and invest my descendants with righteousness. Indeed I have turned to you in penitence, and I am one of the Muslims.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

We have advised the human being to be kind to his parents; his mother bore him with hardship and delivered him while suffering a great deal of pain. The period in which his mother bore and weaned him lasted for thirty months. When he grew-up to manhood and became forty years old, he then said, [Lord, inspire me to give You thanks for the bounties you have granted to me and my parents, and to act righteously to please You. Lord, make my offspring virtuous. Lord I turn to you in repentance; I am a Muslim]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents; with trouble did his mother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirty months; until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! grant me that I may give thanks for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases Thee and do good to me in respect of my offspring; surely I turn to Thee, and surely I am of those who submit. - Shakir, Habib

اور ہم نے انسان کو اس کے ماں باپ کے ساتھ نیک برتاؤ کرنے کی نصیحت کی کہ اس کی ماں نے بڑے رنج کے ساتھ اسے شکم میں رکھا ہے اور پھر بڑی تکلیف کے ساتھ پیدا کیا ہے اور اس کے حمل اور دودھ بڑھائی کا کل زمانہ تیس مہینے کا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب وہ توانائی کو پہنچ گیا اور چالیس برس کا ہوگیا تو اس نے دعا کی کہ پروردگار مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیری اس نعمت کا شکریہ ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھے اور میرے والدین کو عطا کی ہے اور ایسا نیک عمل کروں کہ تو راضی ہوجائے اور میری ذریت میں بھی صلاح و تقویٰ قرار دے کہ میں تیری ہی طرف متوجہ ہوں اور تیرے فرمانبردار بندوں میں ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہم نے انسان کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ اپنے والدین کے ساتھ نیک بر تاؤ کرے اُس کی ماں نے مشقت اٹھا کر اسے پیٹ میں رکھا اور مشقت اٹھا کر ہی اس کو جنا، اور اس کے حمل اور دودھ چھڑانے میں تیس مہینے لگ گئے یہاں تک کہ جب وہ اپنی پوری طاقت کو پہنچا اور چالیس سال کا ہو گیا تو اس نے کہا ——اے میرے رب، مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیری اُن نعمتوں کا شکر ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھے اور میرے والدین کو عطا فرمائیں، اور ایسا نیک عمل کروں جس سے تو راضی ہو، اور میری اولاد کو بھی نیک بنا کر مجھے سُکھ دے، میں تیرے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں اور تابع فرمان (مسلم) بندوں میں سے ہوں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے آدمی کو حکم کیا اپنے ماں باپ سے بھلائی کرے، ا س کی ماں نے اسے پیٹ میں رکھا تکلیف سے اور جنا اس کو تکلیف سے، اور اسے اٹھائے پھرنا اور اس کا دودھ چھڑانا تیس مہینے میں ہے یہاں تک کہ جب اپنے زور کو پہنچا اور چالیس برس کا ہوا عرض کی اے میرے رب! میرے دل میں ڈال کہ میں تیری نعمت کا شکر کروں جو تو نے مجھ پر اور میرے ماں باپ پر کی اور میں وہ کام کروں جو تجھے پسند آئے اور میرے لیے میری اولاد میں صلاح (نیکی) رکھ میں تیری طرف رجوع لایا اور میں مسلمان ہوں - Ahmed Raza

اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کے ساتھ نیک سلوک کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اس کی ماں نے زحمت کے ساتھ اسے پیٹ میں رکھا اور زحمت کے ساتھ اسے جنم دیا اور اس کا حمل اور دودھ چھڑانا تیس مہینوں میں ہوا۔ یہاں تک کہ جب وہ اپنی پوری طاقت کو پہنچا (جوان ہوا) اور پورے چالیس سال کا ہوگیا تو اس نے کہا اے میرے پروردگار! تو مجھے توفیق عطا فرما کہ میں تیرے اس احسان کاشکر ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھ پر اور میرے والدین پر کیا ہے اور یہ کہ میں ایسا نیک عمل کروں جسے تو پسند کرتا ہے اور میرے لئے میری اولاد میں بھی صالحیت پیدا فرما میں تیری بارگاہ میں توبہ (رجوع) کرتا ہوں اور میں مسلمانوں(فرمانبرداروں) میں سے ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ فِىٓ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَعْدَ ٱلصِّدْقِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Those are they from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their evil deeds. (They are) among the owners of the Garden. This is the true promise which they were promised (in the world). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Such are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their misdeeds, [who will be] among the inhabitants of paradise—a true promise which they had been given. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And whoso saith unto his parents: Fie upon you both! Do ye threaten me that I shall be brought forth (again) when generations before me have passed away? And they twain cry unto Allah for help (and say): Woe unto thee! Believe! Lo! the promise of Allah is true. But he saith: This is naught save fables of the men of old: - Pickthall, Marmaduke

As for him who says to his parents, [Fie on you! Do you promise me that I shall be raised [from the dead] when generations have passed away before me?] And they invoke Allah]s help [and say]: [Woe to you! Believe! Indeed Allah]s promise is true.] But he says, [These are nothing but myths of the ancients.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

There are people who say to their parents, [Fie upon you! Are you telling us that we shall be raised from our graves? So many people have died before us and (none of them have been raised)] Their parents plead to God and say to their child, [Woe to you! Have faith; the promise of God is certainly true] They reply, [What you say is only ancient legends]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Do you threaten me with being taken out of the grave after death while many a generation has passed away before me and none has risen from among them?] The parents both cry for God's help and say to him, [Believe! اور جس نے اپنے ماں باپ سے یہ کہا کہ تمہارے لئے حیف ہے کہ تم مجھے اس بات سے ڈراتے ہو کہ میں دوبارہ قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی قومیں گزر چکی ہیں اور وہ دونوں فریاد کررہے تھے کہ یہ بڑی افسوس ناک بات ہے بیٹا ایمان لے آ - خدا کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے تو کہنے لگا کہ یہ سب پرانے لوگوں کے افسانے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور جس شخص نے اپنے والدین سے کہا ——اُف، تنگ کر دیا تم نے، کیا تم مجھے یہ خوف دلاتے ہو کہ میں مرنے کے بعد پھر قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی نسلیں گزر چکی ہیں (اُن میں سے تو کوئی اٹھ کر نہ آیا)—— ماں اور باپ اللہ کی دوہائی دے کر کہتے ہیں ——ارے بدنصیب، مان جا، اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے—— مگر وہ کہتا ہے ——یہ سب اگلے وقتوں کی فرسودہ کہانیاں ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور وہ جس نے اپنے ماں باپ سے کہا اُف تم سے دل پک گیا (بیزار ہے) کیا مجھے یہ وعدہ دیتے ہو کہ پھر زندہ کیا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ پر سے پہلے سنگتیں گزر چکیں اور وہ دونوں اللہ سے فریاد کرتے ہیں تیری خرابی ہو ایمان لا، بیشک اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے تو کہتا ہے یہ تو نہیں مگر اگلوں کی کہانیاں - Ahmed Raza

Such are those on whom the Word concerning nations of the jinn and mankind which have passed away before them hath effect. Lo! they are the losers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And applicable to all
دَرَجَٰتٌۭ
is heirarchy of levels
مِّمَّا
based upon what
عَمِلُوا۟
they do;
ۖ
وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ
and all of them will be paid for
أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ
their deeds,
وَهُمْ
and they
لَا
will not
يُظْلَمُونَ
be done injustice to.
٤٦
١٩
وَلِكُلٍّۢ دَرَجَٰتٌۭ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟ ۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ And applicable to all is heirarchy of levels based upon what they do; and all of them will be paid for their deeds, and they will not be done injustice to.

And for all there will be ranks from what they do, that He may pay them for their deeds; and they will not be wronged. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

For everyone there are degrees [of merit] pertaining to what he has done: He will recompense them fully for their works, and they will not be wronged. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Everyone will have a position proportionate to the degree of his deeds. Finally, God will recompense them for their deeds and they will not be wronged. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And for all are degrees according to what they did, and that He may pay them back fully their deeds and they shall not be wronged. - Shakir, Habib

عَذَابَ

ٱلْهُونِ

بِمَا

كُنتُمْ

تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

فِى

ٱلْأَرْضِ

بِغَيْرِ

ٱلْحَقِّ

وَبِمَا

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَٰتِكُمْ فِى حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (it will be said): Ye squandered your good things in the life of the world and sought comfort therein. Now this day ye are rewarded with the doom of ignominy because ye were disdainful in the land without a right, and because ye used to transgress. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [they will be told,] [You have exhausted your good things in the life of the world and enjoyed them. So today you will be requited with a humiliating punishment for your acting arrogantly in the earth unduly, and because you used to transgress.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

On the day when the disbelievers will be exposed to the fire, they will be told, [You have spent your happy days during your worldly life and enjoyed them. And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: You did away with your good things in your life of the world and you enjoyed them for a while, so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of abasement because you were unjustly proud in the land and because you transgressed. - Shakir, Habib

On the Day when those who deny the truth are brought before the Fire, it will be said to them, [You have had the good things of the life of this world, and you enjoyed them. اور جس دن کفار کو جہنمّ کے سامنے پیش کیا جائے گا کہ تم نے اپنے سارے مزے دنیاہی کی زندگی میں لے لئے اور وہاں آرام کرلیا تو آج ذلّت کے عذاب کی سزادی جائے گی کہ تم روئے زمین میں بلاوجہ اکڑ رہے تھے اور اپنے پروردگار کے احکام کی نافرمانی کررہے تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر جب یہ کافر آگ کے سامنے لا کھڑے کیے جائیں گے تو ان سے کہا جائے گا: ——تم اپنے حصے کی نعمتیں اپنی دنیا کی زندگی میں ختم کر چکے اور ان کا لطف تم نے اٹھا لیا، اب جو تکبر تم زمین میں کسی حق کے بغیر کرتے رہے اور جو نافرمانیاں تم نے کیں اُن کی پاداش میں آج تم کو ذلت کا عذاب دیا جائے گا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And make mention (O Muhammad) of the brother of A'ad when he warned his folk among the wind-curved sandhills - and verily warners came and went before and after him - saying: Serve none but Allah. Lo! I fear for you the doom of a tremendous Day. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
