مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا
arrogantly
كَأَن
as if
لَّمْ
did not
يَسْمَعْهَا
he heard them;
ۖ
فَبَشِّرْهُ
so give good news to him
بِعَذَابٍ
about a punishment
أَلِيمٍۢ
of sufferring.
٤٥
٨
يَسْمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ Hears signs of the One being recited to him, but then persists arrogantly as if did not he heard them; so give good news to him about a punishment of sufferring.

Who heareth the revelations of Allah recited unto him, and then continueth in pride as though he heard them not. Give him tidings of a painful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَإِذَا
And whenever
عَلِمَ
finds out
مِنْ
from
ءَايَٰتِنَا
Our signs
شَيْـًٔا
a thing,
ٱتَّخَذَهَا
adopts them
هُزُوًا
mockingly;
ۚ
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those are
لَهُمْ
for whom is
عَذَابٌۭ
a punishment
مُّهِينٌۭ
of humilliation.
٤٥
٩
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا شَيْـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ And whenever finds out from Our signs a thing, adopts them mockingly; those are for whom is a punishment of humilliation.
⦿
And when he knoweth aught of Our revelations he maketh it a jest. For such there is a shameful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Should he learn anything about Our signs, he takes them in derision. For such there is a humiliating punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When he learns about some of Our revelations, he mocks them. Such people will suffer a humiliating torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

جَهَنَّمُ
hell;
ۖ
وَلَا

it will suffice
عَنْهُم
upon them
مَّا

كَسَبُوا۟
they earned
شَيْـًۭٔا
of a thing,
وَلَا
nor
مَا
which
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
they adopted
مِن
from
دُونِ
other than
ٱللَّهِ
the One
أَوْلِيَآءَ
as guardians,
ۖ
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
عَظِيمٌ
of great magnitude.
٤٥
١٠
مِّن وَرَآئِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ From behind them is hell; and not it will suffice upon them what they earned of a thing, nor which they adopted from other than the One as guardians, and for them a punishment of great magnitude.

Beyond them there is hell, and that which they have earned will naught avail them, nor those whom they have chosen for protecting friends beside Allah. Theirs will be an awful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Ahead of them is hell, and neither what they have earned, nor what they had taken as guardians besides Allah will avail them in any way, and there is a great punishment for them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اُن کے آگے جہنم ہے جو کچھ بھی انہوں نے دنیا میں کمایا ہے اس میں سے کوئی چیز اُن کے کسی کام نہ آئے گی، نہ اُن کے وہ سرپرست ہی اُن کے لیے کچھ کر سکیں گے جنہیں اللہ کو چھوڑ کر انہوں نے اپنا ولی بنا رکھا ہے اُن کے لیے بڑا عذاب ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

This is
هُدًۭى
guidance;
ۖ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
are in denial
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
about signs of
رَبِّهِمْ
their Rabb,
لَهُمْ
for them is
عَذَابٌۭ
punishment
مِّن
of
رِّجْزٍ
wrath that is
أَلِيمٌ
painful.
٤٥
١١
هَٰذَا هُدًۭى ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ This is guidance; and the ones who are in denial about signs of their Rabb, for them is punishment of wrath that is painful.

This is guidance. And those who disbelieve the revelations of their Lord, for them there is a painful doom of wrath. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

the ships
فِيهِ
in them
بِأَمْرِهِۦ
by His command,
وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟
and for seeking
مِن
of
فَضْلِهِۦ
His grace,
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
and so that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ
be thankful.
٤٥
١٢
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ The One — the Entity — who subjugates for you the sea to sail the ships in them by His command, and for seeking of His grace, and so that you may be thankful.
⦿
Allah it is Who hath made the sea of service unto you that the ships may run thereon by His command, and that ye may seek of His bounty, and that haply ye may be thankful; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

It is Allah who disposed the sea for you[r benefit] so that the ships may sail in it by His command, that you may seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God has made the sea subservient to you so that ships sail on by His command and you seek His favors. Perhaps you will be grateful. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
Allah is He Who made subservient to you the sea that the ships may run therein by His command, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may give thanks. - Shakir, Habib

And subjugated

ٱلْأَرْضِ
the Earth,
جَمِيعًۭا
collectively
مِّنْهُ
of it;
ۚ
إِنَّ
certainly,
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
that
لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ
for sure are signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
for a nation
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who thinks.
٤٥
١٣
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا مِّنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ And subjugated for you what is in the atmospheres and what is within the Earth, collectively of it; certainly, in that for sure are signs for a nation who thinks.
⦿
And hath made of service unto you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; it is all from Him. Lo! herein verily are portents for a people who reflect. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He has disposed for you[r benefit] whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth; all is from Him. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect. - Qarai, Ali Quli

He has also made subservient to you all that is in the heavens and the earth. In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who use their minds. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And He has made subservient to you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, all, from Himself; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect. - Shakir, Habib

He has subjected whatever is in heaven and on the earth to you; it is all from Him. In that are signs for those who ponder. - Wahiduddin Khan

Say
لِّلَّذِينَ
to the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
are convinced,
يَغْفِرُوا۟
[Have forgiveness
لِلَّذِينَ
for the ones who
لَا
do not
يَرْجُونَ
have hope in
أَيَّامَ
era of
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
لِيَجْزِىَ
for Him to repay
قَوْمًۢا
a nation
بِمَا
with what
كَانُوا۟
they have
يَكْسِبُونَ
earned.]
٤٥
١٤
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّهِ لِيَجْزِىَ قَوْمًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ Say to the ones who are convinced, [Have forgiveness for the ones who do not have hope in era of the One, for Him to repay a nation with what they have earned.]

Tell those who believe to forgive those who hope not for the days of Allah; in order that He may requite folk what they used to earn. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say to the faithful to forgive those who do not expect Allah]s days, that He may [Himself] requite every people for what they used to earn. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Tell the believers to forgive those who do not have faith in the days of God (Day of Judgment) and Resurrection. God will give due recompense to all the people for their deeds. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say to those who believe (that) they forgive those who do not fear the days of Allah that He may reward a people for what they earn. - Shakir, Habib

Tell the believers to ignore those who do not believe in the coming of the days of God. He will requite people for what they have done. - Wahiduddin Khan

اے نبیؐ، ایمان لانے والوں سے کہہ دو کہ جو لوگ اللہ کی طرف سے برے دن آنے کا کوئی اندیشہ نہیں رکھتے، اُن کی حرکتوں پر درگزر سے کام لیں تاکہ اللہ خود ایک گروہ کو اس کی کمائی کا بدلہ دے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

[Whoever
عَمِلَ
works
صَٰلِحًۭا
constructively
فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ
thus for his ownself,
ۖ
وَمَنْ
and who
أَسَآءَ
does evil
فَعَلَيْهَا
thus it is upon them,
ۖ
ثُمَّ
then
إِلَىٰ
towards
رَبِّكُمْ
your Sustainer
تُرْجَعُونَ
you will return.]
٤٥
١٥
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ [Whoever works constructively thus for his ownself, and who does evil thus it is upon them, then towards your Sustainer you will return.]

Whoso doeth right, it is for his soul, and whoso doeth wrong, it is against it. And afterward unto your Lord ye will be brought back. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Whoever acts righteously, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is to its own detriment, then you will be brought back to your Lord. - Qarai, Ali Quli

One who acts righteously does so for his own benefit and one who commits evil does so against his own soul. To your Lord you will all return. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whoever does good, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is against himself; then you shall be brought back to your-- Lord. - Shakir, Habib

وَلَقَدْ
And for certain
ءَاتَيْنَا
We gave to
بَنِىٓ
bani
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Israel
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَٱلْحُكْمَ
and the judgement
وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ
and the leadership,
وَرَزَقْنَٰهُم
and We gave sustenance to them
مِّنَ
from
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
the good things,
وَفَضَّلْنَٰهُمْ
and We favoured them
عَلَى
upon
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
all the states of being.
٤٥
١٦
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنَٰهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ And for certain We gave to bani Israel the Book and the judgement and the leadership, and We gave sustenance to them from the good things, and We favoured them upon all the states of being.

And verily we gave the Children of Israel the Scripture and the Command and the Prophethood, and provided them with good things and favoured them above (all) peoples; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We gave the Children of Israel the Book, judgement and prophethood and We provided them with all the good things. We gave them an advantage over all the nations, - Qarai, Ali Quli

We gave the Book to the Israelites, the commandments, and prophethood, granted them pure sustenance, and gave them preference above all people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We gave the Book and the wisdom and the prophecy to the children of Israel, and We gave them of the goodly things, and We made them excel the nations. - Shakir, Habib

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم
And We gave to them
بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ
clarifications
مِّنَ
of
ٱلْأَمْرِ
the command;
ۖ
فَمَا
thus not
ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟
they differed
إِلَّا
except
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
what
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them of
ٱلْعِلْمُ
the knowledge
بَغْيًۢا
being envious
بَيْنَهُمْ
amongst themselves;
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely
رَبَّكَ
your Rabb
يَقْضِى
will judge
بَيْنَهُمْ
between them
يَوْمَ
on day of
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
the establishment
فِيمَا
in what
كَانُوا۟
they were
فِيهِ
in it
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
in disagreement.
٤٥
١٧
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ And We gave to them clarifications of the command; thus not they differed except from after what came to them of the knowledge being envious amongst themselves; surely your Rabb will judge between them on day of the establishment in what they were in it in disagreement.

And gave them plain commandments. And they differed not until after the knowledge came unto them, through rivalry among themselves. Lo! thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they used to differ. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

and We gave them manifest precepts. But they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. Indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that about which they used to differ. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We also gave them clear evidence in support of the true religion. Only after having received knowledge did they create differences among themselves because of their rebelliousness. Your Lord will issue His decree concerning their differences on the Day of Judgment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We gave them clear arguments in the affair, but they did not differ until after knowledge had come to them out of envy among themselves; surely your -Lord will judge between them on the day of resurrection concerning that wherein they differed. - Shakir, Habib

We gave them clear arguments in matters [of religion]. It was only after knowledge came to them that they differed among themselves out of mutual rivalry. On the Day of Resurrection your Lord will judge between them regarding their differences. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور انہیں اپنے امر کی کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں عطا کی ہیں پھر ان لوگوں نے علم آنے کے بعد آپس کی ضد میں اختلاف کیا تو یقینا تمہارا پروردگار روزِ قیامت ان کے درمیان ان تمام باتوں کا فیصلہ کردے گا جن میں یہ اختلاف کرتے رہے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور دین کے معاملہ میں اُنہیں واضح ہدایات دے دیں پھر جو اختلاف اُن کے درمیان رو نما ہوا وہ (نا واقفیت کی وجہ سے نہیں بلکہ) علم آ جانے کے بعد ہوا اور اس بنا پر ہوا کہ وہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی کرنا چاہتے تھے اللہ قیامت کے روز اُن معاملات کا فیصلہ فرما دے گا جن میں وہ اختلاف کرتے رہے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے انہیں اس کام کی روشن دلیلیں دیں تو انہوں نے اختلاف نہ کیا مگر بعد اس کے کہ علم ان کے پاس آچکا آپس کے حسد سے بیشک تمہارا رب قیامت کے دن ان میں فیصلہ کردے گا جس بات میں اختلاف کرتے یں، - Ahmed Raza

اورہم نے انہیں دین کے معاملہ میں کھلے دلائل عطا کئے پس انہوں نے اس میں اختلاف نہیں کیا مگر علم آجانے کے بعد محض باہمی ضد اور ظلم کی وجہ سے۔ بےشک قیامت کے دن آپ(ص) کا پروردگار ان کے درمیان فیصلہ کرے گا جن چیزوں میں وہ باہم اختلاف کرتے تھے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
