وَمَآ

وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا نَصِيرٍۢ

Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper.

You cannot frustrate [Allah] on the earth, and you do not have besides Allah any guardian or helper.

وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِ ٱلْجَوَارِ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِ

And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea;

إِن يَشَأْ يُسْكِنِ ٱلرِّيحَ فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍۢ شَكُورٍ

⦿

If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). -

⦿

If He wishes He stills the wind, whereat they remain standstill on its surface. There are indeed signs in that for every patient and grateful [servant].

Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful,

If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one,

if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful,

وہ اگر چاہے تو ہوا کو ساکن بنادے تو سب سطح آب پر جم کر رہ جائیں - بیشک اس حقیقت میں صبر وشکر کرنے والوں کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں

اللہ جب چاہے ہوا کو ساکن کر دے اور یہ سمندر کی پیٹھ پر کھڑے کے کھڑے رہ جائیں اِس میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں ہر اُس شخص کے لیے جو کمال درجہ صبر و شکر کرنے والا ہو

وہ چاہے تو ہوا تھما دے اس کی پیٹھ پر ٹھہری رہ جائیں بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانیاں ہیں ہر بڑے صابر شاکر کو

اگر وہ چاہے تو ہوا کو ٹھہرا دے تو وہ (جہاز) اس کی سطح پر کھڑے کے کھڑے رہ جائیں بےشک اس میں ہر بڑے صبر کرنے(اور) بڑے شکر کرنے والے کیلئے نشانیاں ہیں۔

أَوْ يُوبِقْهُنَّ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَيَعْفُ عَن كَثِيرٍۢ

Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much -

Or He wrecks them because of what they have earned, and He excuses many [an offense].

or He could have destroyed them as punishment for the human being's deeds. However, God pardons many sins.

Or He may make them founder for what they have earned, and (even then) pardon most;

یا انہیں تباہ کردے لوگوں کے گناہوں کے سبب اور بہت معاف فرمادے

یا اگر وہ چاہے تو ان (جہازوں) کو تباہ کر دے ان لوگوں کے (برے) اعمال کی وجہ سے اور اگر چاہے تو (ان کے) بہت سے (لوگوںیا گناہوں سے) درگزر فرمائے۔

وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍۢ

And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge.

Let those who dispute Our signs know that there is no escape for them.

He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment).

٣٦

فَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ فَمَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

⦿

Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord,

Whatever you have been given are the wares of the life of this world, but what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have faith and who put their trust in their Lord

Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting.

So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord.

جو کچھ بھی تم لوگوں کو دیا گیا ہے وہ محض دنیا کی چند روزہ زندگی کا سر و سامان ہے، اور جو کچھ اللہ کے ہاں ہے وہ بہتر بھی ہے اور پائدار بھی وہ اُن لوگوں کے لیے ہے جو ایمان لائے ہیں اور اپنے رب پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں

⦿

تمہیں جو کچھ ملا ہے وہ جیتی دنیا میں برتنےکا ہے اور وہ جو اللہ کے پاس ہے بہتر ہے اور زیادہ باقی رہنے والا ان کے لیے جو ایمان لائے اور اپنے رب پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں

جو کچھ تمہیں دیا گیا ہے وہ صرف دنیٰوی زندگی کا (چند روزہ) ساز و سامان ہے اور جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ بہتر بھی ہے اور زیادہ پائیدار بھی ان لوگوں کیلئے جو ایمان لائے ہیں اور اپنے پروردگار پر بھروسہ رکھتے ہیں۔

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا۟ هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ

⦿

And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive,

—those who avoid major sins and indecencies, and forgive when angered;

(This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry,

And those who. shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive.

who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry;

اوربڑے بڑے گناہوں اور فحش باتوں سے پرہیز کرتے ہیں اور جب غصّہ آجاتا ہے تو معاف کردیتے ہیں

اور وہ جو بڑے بڑے گناہوں اور بے حیائیوں سے بچتے ہیں اور جب غصہ آئے معاف کردیتے ہیں،

وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ

⦿

And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them,

those who answer their Lord, maintain the prayer, and [conduct] their affairs by counsel among themselves, and they spend out of what We have provided them;

who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them,

⦿

And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them.

who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them;

اور جو اپنے رب کی بات کو قبول کرتے ہیں اور نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور آپس کے معاملات میں مشورہ کرتے ہیں اور ہمارے رزق میں سے ہماری راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں

جو اپنے رب کا حکم مانتے ہیں، نماز قائم کرتے ہیں، اپنے معاملات آپس کے مشورے سے چلاتے ہیں، ہم نے جو کچھ بھی رزق انہیں دیا ہے اُس میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں

اور وہ جنہوں نے اپنے رب کا حکم مانا اور نماز قائم رکھی اور ان کا کام ان کے آپس کے مشورے سے ہے اور ہمارے دیے سے کچھ ہماری راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں،

اور جو اپنے پروردگار کے حکم کو مانتے ہیں اور نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور ان کے (تمام) کام باہمی مشورہ سے طے ہوتے ہیں اور جو کچھ ہم نے انہیں دیا ہے وہ اس سے خرچ کرتے ہیں۔

And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves,

وَجَزَٰٓؤُا۟ سَيِّئَةٍۢ سَيِّئَةٌۭ مِّثْلُهَا ۖ فَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

⦿

The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
