فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَبْنَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ وَٱسْتَحْيُوا۟ نِسَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ

And when he brought them the Truth from Our presence, they said: Slay the sons of those who believe with him, and spare their women. But the plot of disbelievers is in naught but error.

So when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, [Kill the sons of the faithful who are with him, and spare their women.] But the stratagems of the faithless only go awry.

When We sent him to them for a genuine purpose, they said, [Kill the sons of those who have believed in him but keep their women alive.] The plots of the unbelievers can only result in failure.

And Pharaoh said: Suffer me to kill Moses, and let him cry unto his Lord. Lo! I fear that he will alter your religion or that he will cause confusion in the land.

ایک روز فرعون نے اپنے درباریوں سے کہا ——چھوڑو مجھے، میں اِس موسیٰؑ کو قتل کیے دیتا ہوں، اور پکار دیکھے یہ اپنے رب کو مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ یہ تمہارا دین بدل ڈالے گا، یا ملک میں فساد برپا کرے گا——

Moses said: Lo! I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every scorner who believeth not in a Day of Reckoning.

وَقَالَ رَجُلٌۭ مُّؤْمِنٌۭ مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَكْتُمُ إِيمَٰنَهُۥٓ أَتَقْتُلُونَ رَجُلًا أَن يَقُولَ رَبِّىَ ٱللَّهُ وَقَدْ جَآءَكُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَكُ كَٰذِبًۭا فَعَلَيْهِ كَذِبُهُۥ ۖ وَإِن يَكُ صَادِقًۭا يُصِبْكُم بَعْضُ ٱلَّذِى يَعِدُكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌۭ كَذَّابٌۭ

And a believing man of Pharaoh's family, who hid his faith, said: Would ye kill a man because he saith: My Lord is Allah, and hath brought you clear proofs from your Lord? If he is lying, then his lie is upon him; and if he is truthful, then some of that wherewith he threateneth you will strike you. Lo! Allah guideth not one who is a prodigal, a liar.

Said a man of faith from Pharaoh]s clan, who concealed his faith, [Will you kill a man for saying, [[My Lord is Allah,]] while he has already brought you manifest proofs from your Lord? Should he be lying, his falsehood will be to his own detriment; but if he is truthful, there shall visit you some of what he promises you. Indeed Allah does not guide someone who is a transgressor and liar.

A believing person from the people of the Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, [Would you kill a man just because he says God is my Lord? He has brought you illustrious miracles from your Lord. If he speaks lies, it will only harm him, but if he speaks the Truth, some of his warnings may affect you. God does not guide a transgressing liar.

And a believing man of Firon's people who hid his faith said: What! will you slay a man because he says: My Lord is Allah, and indeed he has brought to you clear arguments from your Lord? And if he be a liar, on him will be his lie, and if he be truthful, there will befall you some of that which he threatens you (with); surely Allah does not guide him who is extravagant, a liar:

A believer, a man from among the people of Pharaoh, who had concealed his faith, said, [Would you slay a man merely because he says, [My Lord is God.] He has brought you clear signs from your Lord, and if he is lying, the sin of his will be on his own head; but if he is truthful, a part of that of which he warns you will surely befall you. Certainly, God does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.

اور فرعون والوں میں سے ایک مرد مومن نے جو اپنے ایمان کو حُھپائے ہوئے تھا یہ کہا کہ کیا تم لوگ کسی شخص کو صرف اس بات پر قتل کررہے ہو کہ وہ کہتا ہے کہ میرا پروردگار اللہ ہے اور وہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے کھلی ہوئی دلیلیں بھی لے کر آیا ہے اور اگر جھوٹا ہے تو اس کے جھوٹ کا عذاب اس کے سر ہوگا اور اگر سچا نکل آیا تو جن باتوں سے ڈرا رہا ہے وہ مصیبتیں تم پر نازل بھی ہوسکتی ہیں - بیشک اللہ کسی زیادتی کرنے والے اور جھوٹے کی رہنمائی نہیں کرتا ہے

اس موقع پر آل فرعون میں سے ایک مومن شخص، جو اپنا ایمان چھپائے ہوئے تھا، بول اٹھا: ——کیا تم ایک شخص کو صرف اِس بنا پر قتل کر دو گے کہ وہ کہتا ہے میرا رب اللہ ہے؟ حالانکہ وہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے تمہارے پاس بینات لے آیا اگر وہ جھوٹا ہے تو اس کا جھوٹ خود اسی پر پلٹ پڑے گا لیکن اگر وہ سچا ہے تو جن ہولناک نتائج کا وہ تم کو خوف دلاتا ہے ان میں سے کچھ تو تم پر ضرور ہی آ جائیں گے اللہ کسی شخص کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا جو حد سے گزر جانے والا اور کذاب ہو

اور بولا فرعون والوں میں سے ایک مرد مسلمان کہ اپنے ایمان کو چھپاتا تھا کیا ایک مرد کو اس پر مارے ڈالتے ہو کہ وہ کہتا ہے کہ میرا رب اللہ ہے اور بیشک وہ روشن نشانیاں تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے لائے اور اگر بالفرض وہ غلط کہتے ہیں تو ان کی غلط گوئی کا وبال ان پر، اور اگر وہ سچے ہیں تو تمہیں پہنچ جائے گا کچھ وہ جس کا تمہیں وعدہ دیتے ہیں بیشک اللہ راہ نہیں دیتا اسے جو حد سے بڑھنے والا بڑا جھوٹا ہو

اور فرعون کے خاندان میں سے ایک مردِ مؤمن نے کہا جو اپنے ایمان کو چھپائے رکھتا تھا۔ کیا تم ایک شخص کو صرف اس بات پر قتل کرنا چاہتے ہو کہ وہ کہتا ہے کہ میرا پروردگار اللہ ہے؟ حالانکہ وہ تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تمہارے پاس بیّنات (معجزات) لے کر آیا ہے اگر وہ جھوٹا ہے تو اس کے جھوٹ کا وبال اسی پر پڑے گا اور اگر وہ سچا ہے تو جس (عذاب) کی وہ تمہیں دھمکی دیتا ہے تو اس کا کچھ حصہ تو تمہیں پہنچ کر رہے گا۔ بیشک اللہ اس شخص کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا جو حد سے بڑھنے والا اور بڑا جھوٹا ہو۔

O my people! Yours is the kingdom to-day, ye being uppermost in the land. But who would save us from the wrath of Allah should it reach us? Pharaoh said: I do but show you what I think, and I do but guide you to wise policy.

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِن قَبْلُ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ مِّمَّا جَآءَكُم بِهِۦ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رَسُولًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌۭ مُّرْتَابٌ

And verily Joseph brought you of old clear proofs, yet ye ceased not to be in doubt concerning what he brought you till, when he died, ye said: Allah will not send any messenger after him. Thus Allah deceiveth him who is a prodigal, a doubter.

Those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah without any warrant that hath come unto them, it is greatly hateful in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who believe. Thus doth Allah print on every arrogant, disdainful heart.

The roads of the heavens, and may look upon the god of Moses, though verily I think him a liar. Thus was the evil that he did made fairseeming unto Pharaoh, and he was debarred from the (right) way. The plot of Pharaoh ended but in ruin.

—the routes of the heavens—and take a look at the God of Moses, and indeed I consider him a liar.] The evil of his conduct was thus presented as decorous to Pharaoh, and he was kept from the way [of Allah]. Pharaoh]s stratagems only led him into ruin.

Whoso doeth an ill-deed, he will be repaid the like thereof, while whoso doeth right, whether male or female, and is a believer, (all) such will enter the Garden, where they will be nourished without stint.

فَوَقَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِ مَا مَكَرُوا۟ ۖ وَحَاقَ بِـَٔالِ فِرْعَوْنَ سُوٓءُ ٱلْعَذَابِ

So Allah warded off from him the evils which they plotted, while a dreadful doom encompassed Pharaoh's folk,

The Fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening; and on the day when the Hour upriseth (it is said): Cause Pharaoh's folk to enter the most awful doom.

And when they wrangle in the Fire, the weak say unto those who were proud: Lo! we were a following unto you; will ye therefor rid us of a portion of the Fire?

پھر ذرا خیال کرو اُس وقت کا جب یہ لوگ دوزخ میں ایک دوسرے سے جھگڑ رہے ہوں گے دنیا میں جو لوگ کمزور تھے وہ بڑے بننے والوں سے کہیں گے کہ ——ہم تمہارے تابع تھے، اب کیا یہاں تم نار جہنم کی تکلیف کے کچھ حصے سے ہم کو بچا لو گے؟——

Those who were proud say: Lo! we are all (together) herein. Lo! Allah hath judged between (His) slaves.

And those in the Fire say unto the guards of hell: Entreat your Lord that He relieve us of a day of the torment.

قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ ۚ قَالُوا۟ فَٱدْعُوا۟ ۗ وَمَا دُعَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍ

They say: Came not your messengers unto you with clear proofs? They say: Yea, verily. They say: Then do ye pray, although the prayer of disbelievers is in vain.

They will say, [Had not your apostles brought you manifest proofs?] They will say, [Yes.] They will say, [Then invoke [Him] yourselves.] But the invocations of the faithless only go awry.

The keepers will ask them, [Did your Messengers not come to you with illustrious evidence (of the Truth)? They will reply, [Yes, they did.] The keepers will then say, [You may pray but the prayer of the disbelievers will not be answered].

They shall say: Did not your apostles come to you with clear arguments? They shall say: Yea. They shall say: Then call. And the call of the unbelievers is only in error.

وہ پوچھیں گے ——کیا تمہارے پاس تمہارے رسول بینات لے کر نہیں آتے رہے تھے؟—— وہ کہیں گے ——ہاں——جہنم کے اہل کار بولیں گے: ——پھر تو تم ہی دعا کرو، اور کافروں کی دعا اکارت ہی جانے والی ہے——

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
