The Weak [ 4:121 ] النساء

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ

مَأْوَىٰهُمْ

جَهَنَّمُ

وَلَا

[untranslated]

يَجِدُونَ

[untranslated]

عَنْهَا

[untranslated]

مَحِيصًۭا

[untranslated]

١٢١

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ عَنْهَا مَحِيصًۭا

For such, their habitation will be hell, and they will find no refuge therefrom.

The refuge of such shall be hell, and they will not find any escape from it.

The Weak [ 4:122 ] النساء

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And the ones who

ءَامَنُوا۟

are of firm conviction,

وَعَمِلُوا۟

and did

ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ

the constructive things

سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ

We will enter them in

جَنَّٰتٍۢ

gardens,

تَجْرِى

flowing

مِن

from

تَحْتِهَا

under them

ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

the rivers,

خَٰلِدِينَ

they will be living

فِيهَآ

in them

أَبَدًۭا

forever

وَعْدَ

— promise of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

حَقًّۭا

truthfully —

وَمَنْ

and who is

أَصْدَقُ

more truthful

مِنَ

than

ٱللَّهِ

the One

قِيلًۭا

at declaring (a promise)?

١٢٢

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا ۖ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّۭا ۚ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ قِيلًۭا

And the ones who are of firm conviction, and did the constructive things We will enter them in gardens, flowing from under them the rivers, they will be living in them forever — promise of the One truthfully — and who is more truthful than the One at declaring (a promise)?

⦿

But as for those who believe and do good works We shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. It is a promise from Allah in truth; and who can be more truthful than Allah in utterance?

But those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever—a true promise of Allah, and who is truer in speech than Allah?

We will admit the righteously striving believers to Paradise wherein streams flow and they will live therein forever. God's promise is true for no one is more truthful than Him.

And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will make them enter into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein for ever; (it is) a promise of Allah, true (indeed), and who is truer of word than Allah?

As for those who believe and do good works. We shall admit them to Gardens through which rivers flow; wherein they will abide forever. This is a promise from God; and whose word could be truer than God's?

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے ہم عنقریب انہیں ان جنتّوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی وہ ان میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے- یہ خدا کا برحق وعدہ ہے اور خدا سے زیادہ راست گو کون ہوسکتا ہے

⦿

رہے وہ لوگ جو ایمان لے آئیں اور نیک عمل کریں، توا نہیں ہم ایسے باغوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی اور وہ وہاں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے یہ اللہ کا سچا وعدہ ہے اور اللہ سے بڑھ کر کون اپنی بات میں سچا ہوگا

⦿

اور جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے کچھ دیر جاتی ہے کہ ہم انہیں باغوں میں لے جائیں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہیں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ ان میں رہیں اللہ کا سچا وعدہ اور اللہ سے زیادہ کس کی بات سچی،

جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کیے ہم عنقریب انہیں ان بہشتوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہوں گی۔ وہ ان میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے (یہ) اللہ کا سچا وعدہ ہے اور اللہ سے بڑھ کر کون بات کا سچا ہے۔

لَّيْسَ بِأَمَانِيِّكُمْ وَلَآ أَمَانِىِّ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ۗ مَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًۭا يُجْزَ بِهِۦ وَلَا يَجِدْ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّۭا وَلَا نَصِيرًۭا

⦿

It will not be in accordance with your desires, nor the desires of the People of the Scripture. He who doeth wrong will have the recompense thereof, and will not find against Allah any protecting friend or helper.

It will be neither after your hopes nor the hopes of the People of the Book: whoever commits evil shall be requited for it, and he will not find for himself any guardian or helper besides Allah.

⦿

Believers and People of the Book, wishes alone can never provide you with salvation. Whoever commits evil will be punished accordingly and no one besides God will be his guardian or helper.

(This) shall not be in accordance with your vain desires nor in accordance with the vain desires of the followers of the Book; whoever does evil, he shall be requited with it, and besides Allah he will find for himself neither a guardian nor a helper.

It is not your desires, nor the desires of the People of the Book, that shall prevail. Anyone who commits evil will be rewarded accordingly. He will not find any protector or patron for himself besides God.

کوئی کام نہ تمہاری امیدوں سے بنے گا نہ اہلِ کتاب کی امیدوں سے- جو بھی اِرا کام کرے گا اس کی سزا بہرحال ملے گی اور خدا کے علاوہ اسے کوئی سرپرست اور مددگار بھی نہیں مل سکتا ہے

انجام کار نہ تمہاری آرزوؤں پر موقوف ہے نہ اہل کتاب کی آرزوؤں پر جو بھی برائی کرے گا اس کا پھل پائے گا اور اللہ کے مقابلہ میں اپنے لیے کوئی حامی و مدد گار نہ پاسکے گا

کام نہ کچھ تمہارے خیالوں پر ہے اور نہ کتاب والوں کی ہوس پر جو برائی کرے گا اس کا بدلہ پائے گا اور اللہ کے سوا نہ کوئی اپنا حمایتی پائے گا نہ مددگار

(اے مسلمانو) نہ تمہاری تمناؤں سے کچھ ہوتا ہے اور نہ اہلِ کتاب کی تمناؤں سے۔ جو بھی برائی کرے گا، اس کو اس کی سزا دی جائے گی اور وہ اللہ کو چھوڑ کر اپنے لئے نہ کوئی سرپرست پائے گا اور نہ کوئی حامی و مددگار۔

وَهُوَ

مُؤْمِنٌۭ

فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ

يَدْخُلُونَ

ٱلْجَنَّةَ

وَلَا

يُظْلَمُونَ

نَقِيرًۭا

١٢٤

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌۭ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ نَقِيرًۭا

⦿

And whoso doeth good works, whether of male or female, and he (or she) is a believer, such will enter paradise and they will not be wronged the dint in a date-stone.

⦿

And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, should he be faithful—such shall enter paradise and they will not be wronged [so much as] the speck on a date-stone.

⦿

Any believer, male or female, who acts righteously, will enter Paradise and will not suffer the least bit of injustice.

⦿

And whoever does good deeds whether male or female and he (or she) is a believer-- these shall enter the garden, and they shall not be dealt with a jot unjustly.

Anyone who performs good deeds, whether it be a man or woman, provided that he is a believer, shall enter Paradise. No one shall suffer the least injustice.

اور جو بھی نیک کام کرے گا چاہے وہ مرد ہو یا عورت بشرطیکہ وہ صاحب هایمان بھی ہو- ان سب کو جنّت میں داخل کیا جائے گا اور ان پر ذرّہ برابر ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا

اور جو نیک عمل کرے گا، خواہ مرد ہو یا عورت، بشر طیکہ ہو وہ مومن، تو ایسے ہی لوگ جنت میں داخل ہوں گے اور اُن کی ذرہ برابر حق تلفی نہ ہونے پائے گی

اور جو کچھ بھلے کام کرے گا مرد ہو یا عورت اور ہو مسلمان تو وہ جنت میں داخل کیے جائیں گے اور انہیں تِل بھر نقصان نہ دیا جائے گا

اور جو کوئی نیک عمل کرے گا خواہ مرد ہو یا عورت درانحالیکہ وہ مؤمن ہو تو ایسے ہی لوگ جنت میں داخل ہوں گے اور ان پر تل برابر ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا۔

The Weak [ 4:125 ] النساء

وَمَنْ

And who is

أَحْسَنُ

more appealing in

دِينًۭا

obedience

مِّمَّنْ

than who

أَسْلَمَ

submits

وَجْهَهُۥ

his targets

لِلَّهِ

for the One

وَهُوَ

while being

مُحْسِنٌۭ

a good-doer,

وَٱتَّبَعَ

and is a follower of

مِلَّةَ

creed of

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Ibrahim

حَنِيفًۭا

being non-religious?

وَٱتَّخَذَ

And took

ٱللَّهُ

the One,

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Ibrahim

خَلِيلًۭا

as a friend.

١٢٥

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًۭا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌۭ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۗ وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ خَلِيلًۭا

And who is more appealing in obedience than who submits his targets for the One while being a good-doer, and is a follower of creed of Ibrahim being non-religious? And took the One, Ibrahim as a friend.

⦿

Who is better in religion than he who surrendereth his purpose to Allah while doing good (to men) and followeth the tradition of Abraham, the upright? Allah (Himself) chose Abraham for friend.

Who has a better religion than him who submits his will to Allah, being virtuous, and follows the creed of Abraham, a Hanif? And Allah took Abraham for a dedicated friend.

Whose religion is better than that in which one submits himself to God, behaves righteously, and follows the upright religion of Abraham, God's chosen friend?

And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend.

Who is better in faith than one who submits himself wholly to God, acts righteously, and follows the religion of Abraham, the upright in faith, whom God chose for a friend?

اور اس سے اچھا دیندار کون ہوسکتا ہے جو اپنا رخ خد اکی طرف رکھے اور نیک کردار بھی ہو اور ملّت ابراہیم علیھ السّلام کا اتباع کرے جو باطل سے کترانے والے تھے اور اللہ نے ابراہیم علیھ السّلام کو اپنا خلیل اور دوست بنایا ہے

اُس شخص سے بہتر اور کس کا طریق زندگی ہوسکتا ہے جس نے اللہ کے آگے سر تسلیم خم کر دیا اور اپنا رویہ نیک رکھا اور یکسو ہو کر ابراہیمؑ کے طریقے کی پیروی کی، اُس ابراہیمؑ کے طریقے کی جسے اللہ نے اپنا دوست بنا لیا تھا

اور اس سے بہتر کس کا دین جس نے اپنا منہ اللہ کے لئے جھکا دیا اور وہ نیکی والا ہے اور ابراہیم کے دین پر جو ہر باطل سے جدا تھا اور اللہ نے ابراہیم کو اپنا گہرا دوست بنایا

اور اس شخص سے بڑھ کر کس کا دین اچھا ہوگا۔ جو اللہ کے لئے اپنا چہرہ جھکا دے (اپنے کو اللہ کے سپرد کر دے) اور وہ احسان کرنے والا ہو۔ اور اس ابراہیم حنیف کی ملت کا پیرو ہو۔ جسے اللہ نے اپنا خلیل بنایا تھا۔

The Weak [ 4:126 ] النساء

وَلِلَّهِ

And to the One belongs

مَا

what is

فِى

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

the heavens

وَمَا

and what is

فِى

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land,

وَكَانَ

and has been

ٱللَّهُ

the One,

بِكُلِّ

about all

شَىْءٍۢ

things,

مُّحِيطًۭا

encompassing.

١٢٦

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ مُّحِيطًۭا

And to the One belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the land, and has been the One, about all things, encompassing.

⦿

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Allah ever surroundeth all things.

لَا

تُؤْتُونَهُنَّ

لَهُنَّ

وَتَرْغَبُونَ

أَن

تَنكِحُوهُنَّ

وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ

مِنَ

[untranslated]

ٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ

[untranslated]

وَأَن

[untranslated]

تَقُومُوا۟

[untranslated]

لِلْيَتَٰمَىٰ

[untranslated]

بِٱلْقِسْطِ

[untranslated]

وَمَا

[untranslated]

تَفْعَلُوا۟

[untranslated]

مِنْ

[untranslated]

خَيْرٍۢ

[untranslated]

فَإِنَّ

[untranslated]

ٱللَّهَ

[untranslated]

كَانَ

[untranslated]

بِهِۦ

[untranslated]

عَلِيمًۭا

[untranslated]

١٢٧

وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ فِى ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِيهِنَّ وَمَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ فِى يَتَٰمَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ ٱلَّٰتِى لَا تُؤْتُونَهُنَّ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُنَّ وَتَرْغَبُونَ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ وَأَن تَقُومُوا۟ لِلْيَتَٰمَىٰ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمًۭا

⦿

They consult thee concerning women. Say: Allah giveth you decree concerning them, and the Scripture which hath been recited unto you (giveth decree), concerning female orphans and those unto whom ye give not that which is ordained for them though ye desire to marry them, and (concerning) the weak among children, and that ye should deal justly with orphans. Whatever good ye do, lo! Allah is ever Aware of it.

They seek your ruling concerning women. Say, [Allah gives you a ruling concerning them and what is announced to you in the Book concerning girl orphans—whom you do not give what has been prescribed for them, and yet you desire to marry them—and about the weak among children: that you should maintain the orphans with justice, and whatever good you do, indeed Allah knows it well.

⦿

(Muhammad), they ask you concerning women. Tell them, [God will instruct you about them, besides that which can be read in the Book, about widows with children, whom you wanted to marry without giving them their due rights and He will instruct you about the rights of the weak and oppressed children. God commands you to maintain justice with the orphans. God knows all about whatever good you do.

And they ask you a decision about women. Say: Allah makes known to you His decision concerning them, and that which is recited to you in the Book concerning female orphans whom you do not give what is appointed for them while you desire to marry them, and concerning the weak among children, and that you should deal towards orphans with equity; and whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it.

They consult you concerning women. Say, [God has given you directions concerning them. The commandment given to you in the Book concerns the orphan girls to whom you do not give what is prescribed for them, and whom you nevertheless desire to marry, and about helpless children. He has instructed you to deal justly with orphans. God has knowledge of all the good you do.

لو گ تم سے عورتوں کے معاملہ میں فتویٰ پوچھتے ہیں کہو اللہ تمہیں اُن کے معاملہ میں فتویٰ دیتا ہے، اور ساتھ ہی وہ احکام بھی یاد دلاتا ہے جو پہلے سے تم کو اس کتاب میں سنائے جا رہے ہیں یعنی وہ احکام جو اُن یتیم لڑکیوں کے متعلق ہیں جن کے حق تم ادا نہیں کرتے اور جن کے نکاح کرنے سے تم باز رہتے ہو (یا لالچ کی بنا پر تم خود ان سے نکاح کر لینا چاہتے ہو)، او ر وہ احکام جو اُن بچوں کے متعلق ہیں جو بیچارے کوئی زور نہیں رکھتے اللہ تمہیں ہدایت کرتا ہے کہ یتیموں کے ساتھ انصاف پر قائم رہو، اور جو بھلائی تم کرو گے وہ اللہ کے علم سے چھپی نہ رہ جائے گی

وَإِنِ ٱمْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنۢ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوْ إِعْرَاضًۭا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَآ أَن يُصْلِحَا بَيْنَهُمَا صُلْحًۭا ۚ وَٱلصُّلْحُ خَيْرٌۭ ۗ وَأُحْضِرَتِ ٱلْأَنفُسُ ٱلشُّحَّ ۚ وَإِن تُحْسِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًۭا

If a woman feareth ill treatment from her husband, or desertion, it is no sin for them twain if they make terms of peace between themselves. Peace is better. But greed hath been made present in the minds (of men). If ye do good and keep from evil, lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do.

If a woman fears from her husband misconduct or desertion, there is no sin upon the couple if they reach a reconciliation between themselves; and reconcilement is better. The souls are prone to greed; but if you are virtuous and Godwary, Allah is indeed well aware of what you do.

If a woman is afraid of her husband's ill treatment and desertion, it will be no sin for both of them to reach a reconciliation. Reconciliation is good even though men's souls are swayed by greed. If you act righteously and be pious, God is Well Aware of what you do.

جب کسی عورت کو اپنے شوہر سے بدسلوکی یا بے رخی کا خطر ہ ہو تو کوئی مضائقہ نہیں اگر میاں اور بیوی (کچھ حقوق کی کمی بیشی پر) آپس میں صلح کر لیں صلح بہر حال بہتر ہے نفس تنگ دلی کے طرف جلدی مائل ہو جاتے ہیں، لیکن اگر تم لوگ احسان سے پیش آؤ اور خدا ترسی سے کام لو تو یقین رکھو کہ اللہ تمہارے اس طرز عمل سے بے خبر نہ ہوگا

Ye will not be able to deal equally between (your) wives, however much ye wish (to do so). But turn not altogether away (from one), leaving her as in suspense. If ye do good and keep from evil, lo! Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

You will not be able to be fair between wives, even if you are eager to do so. Yet do not turn away from one altogether, leaving her as if in a suspense. But if you are conciliatory and Godwary, Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.

But if they separate, Allah will compensate each out of His abundance. Allah is ever All-Embracing, All-Knowing.

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.

Due Credits:

This website was possible by help of many people and forums who helped me to learn Arabic, Philosophy, Law, Psychology, and PHP and other Web scripts. To be honest, I do not even know the names of many but I did learn from them. Some of these people were already dead by the time I read their input.

The entire code of this website is available for the same reason, that what they taught me, I can only pay it forward.

The Arabic text of the Quran was obtained from Tanzil. The additional translations were also obtained from Tanzil from this link.
