Thus obeyed
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
the malaikati
كُلُّهُمْ
all of them
أَجْمَعُونَ
collectively.
Thus obeyed the malaikati all of them collectively.

the denying people.
Except Iblees, flaunting arrogance and he was from the denying people.

(The One) said,
يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ
[O Iblees!
مَا
What
مَنَعَكَ
stopped you
أَن
that
تَسْجُدَ
you obey
لِمَا
for what
خَلَقْتُ
I created
بِيَدَىَّ
by My hands?
ۖ
أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ
Are you arrogant
أَمْ
or
كُنتَ
you are
مِنَ
from
ٱلْعَالِينَ
the superior ones?]

قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ (The One) said, [O Iblees! What stopped you that you obey for what I created by My hands? Are you arrogant or you are from the superior ones?]

He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [O Iblis! What keeps you from prostrating before that which I have created with My [own] two hands? Are you arrogant, or are you one of the exalted ones?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The Lord said, [Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating before what I have created with My own hands? Was it because of your pride or are you truly exalted?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? - Shakir, Habib

God said, [Satan, what prevented you from prostrating yourself to what I created with My own Hands? Were you overcome by arrogance, or are you of those who think [only] of themselves as exalted?] - Wahiduddin Khan

تو خدا نے کہا اے ابلیس تیرے لئے کیا شے مانع ہوئی کہ تو اسے سجدہ کرے جسے میں نے اپنے دست قدرت سے بنایا ہے تو نے غرور اختیار کیا یا تو واقعا بلند لوگوں میں سے ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(Iblees) said, [I am better than him. You made me from fire while You created him of clay.]
