وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation):

Salutations upon Moosa and Haroon.

Peace be unto Moses and Aaron!

Certainly We, just like that, reward the good-doers.

Lo! thus do We reward the good.

إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed they both were from Our slaves, the ones of trust.

And certainly was Ilyaas from the Messengers.

And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn),

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
