وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍۢ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
And We sent not unto any township a warner, but its pampered ones declared: Lo! we are disbelievers in that wherewith ye have been sent. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We did not send a warner to any town without its affluent ones saying, [We indeed disbelieve in what you have been sent with.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Every time We sent a warner to a town, the rich ones therein said (to Our Messenger), [We have no faith in what you have brought (to us). - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We never sent a warner to a town but those who led lives in ease in it said: We are surely disbelievers in what you are sent with. - Shakir, Habib

For it has been thus whenever We sent a warner to any community. Its affluent ones said, [We reject what you have been sent with.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے کسی بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں بھیجا مگر یہ کہ اس کے بڑے لوگوں نے یہ کہہ دیا کہ ہم تمہارے پیغام کا انکار کرنے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کبھی ایسا نہیں ہوا کہ ہم نے کسی بستی میں ایک خبردار کرنے والا بھیجا ہو اور اس بستی کے کھاتے پیتے لوگوں نے یہ نہ کہا ہو کہ جو پیغام تم لے کر آئے ہو اس کو ہم نہیں مانتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Say (O Muhammad): Lo! my Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will and narroweth it (for whom He will). But most of mankind know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُم بِٱلَّتِى تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِندَنَا زُلْفَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَنْ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَآءُ ٱلضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِى ٱلْغُرُفَٰتِ ءَامِنُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And it is not your wealth nor your children that will bring you near unto Us, but he who believeth and doeth good (he draweth near). As for such, theirs will be twofold reward for what they did and they will dwell secure in lofty halls. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

It is not your wealth, nor your children, that will bring you close to Us in nearness, excepting those who have faith and act righteously. It is they for whom there will be a twofold reward for what they did, and they will be secure in lofty abodes. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Your property and children cannot bring you closer to Us. Only those who believe and act righteously will have double reward for their deeds and will live in secure mansions. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And not your wealth nor your children, are the things which bring you near Us in station, but whoever believes and does good, these it is for whom is a double reward for what they do, and they shall be secure in the highest places. - Shakir, Habib

It is not your wealth or your children that will confer on you nearness to Us. It is those who believe and act righteously who will be doubly rewarded for their good deeds, and will dwell in peace in the high pavilions [of paradise], - Wahiduddin Khan

یہ تمہاری دولت اور تمہاری اولاد نہیں ہے جو تمہیں ہم سے قریب کرتی ہو ہاں مگر جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرے یہی لوگ ہیں جن کے لیے اُن کے عمل کی دہری جزا ہے، اور وہ بلند و بالا عمارتوں میں اطمینان سے رہیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور تمہارے مال اور تمہاری اولاد اس قابل نہیں کہ تمہیں ہمارے قریب تک پہنچائیں مگر وہ جو ایمان لائے اور نیکی کی ان کے لیے دُونا دُوں (کئی گنا) صلہ ان کے عمل کا بدلہ اور وہ بالاخانوں میں امن و امان سے ہیں - Ahmed Raza

Say: Lo! my Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will of His bondmen, and narroweth (it) for him. And whatsoever ye spend (for good) He replaceth it. And He is the Best of Providers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [Indeed my Lord expands the provision for whomever of His servants that He wishes and tightens it, and He will repay whatever you may spend, and He is the best of providers.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

And on the day when He will gather them all together, He will say unto the angels: Did these worship you? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They will say: Be Thou Glorified. Thou (alone) art our Guardian, not them! Nay, but they worshipped the jinn; most of them were believers in them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They will say, [Immaculate are You! You are our wali, not they! No, they used to worship the jinn; most of them had faith in them.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They will reply, [All glory belongs to you. You are our guardian, not they. They had been worshipping the jinn and most of them had strong faith]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

They shall say: Glory be to Thee! Thou art our Guardian, not they; nay! they worshipped the jinn; most of them were believers in them. - Shakir, Habib

تو وہ عرض کریں گے کہ تو پاک و بے نیاز اور ہمارا ولی ہے یہ ہمارے کچھ نہیں ہیں اور یہ جنّات کی عبادت کرتے تھے اور ان کی اکثریت ان ہی پر ایمان رکھتی تھی - Jawadi, Zeeshan

فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍۢ نَّفْعًۭا وَلَا ضَرًّۭا وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That day ye will possess no use nor hurt one for another. And We shall say unto those who did wrong: Taste the doom of the Fire which ye used to deny. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Today you have no power to benefit or harm one another,] and We shall say to those who did wrong, [Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

None of them can help or harm each other on this day. We shall tell the unjust ones, [Suffer the torment of the fire which you had called a lie.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So on that day one of you shall not control profit or harm for another, and We will say to those who were unjust: Taste the chastisement of the fire which you called a lie. - Shakir, Habib

And if Our revelations are recited unto them in plain terms, they say: This is naught else than a man who would turn you away from what your fathers used to worship; and they say: This is naught else than an invented lie. Those who disbelieve say of the truth when it reacheth them: This is naught else than mere magic. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When Our manifest signs are recited to them, they say, [This is just a man who desires to keep you from what your fathers used to worship.] And they say, [This is nothing but a fabricated lie.] The faithless say of the truth when it comes to them: [This is nothing but plain magic,] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When Our illustrious revelations are recited to them, they say, [This man only wants to prevent you from worshipping what your father's had worshipped.] They say [This, (the Quran), is a mere invented lie.] The unbelievers have said about the truth when it came to them, [This only is plain magic.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when Our clear communications are recited to them, they say: This is naught but a man who desires to turn you away from that which your fathers worshipped. And they say: This is naught but a lie that is forged. And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it comes to them: This is only clear enchantment. - Shakir, Habib

Whenever Our messages are conveyed to them in all their clarity, they say, [This [Muhammad] is nothing but a man who wants to turn you away from what your forefathers worshipped.] And they say, [This [Quran] is nothing but an invented falsehood.] And they who are bent on denying the truth speak thus of the truth when it comes to them, [This is clearly nothing but plain sorcery!] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری روشن آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ یہ شخص صرف یہ چاہتا ہے کہ تمہیں ان سب سے روک دے جن کی تمہارے آبائ و اجداد پرستش کیا کرتے تھے اور یہ صرف ایک گڑھی ہوئی داستان ہے اور کفاّر تو جب بھی ان کے سامنے حق آتا ہے یہی کہتے ہیں کہ یہ ایک کھلا ہوا جادو ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن لوگوں کو جب ہماری صاف صاف آیات سنائی جاتی ہیں تو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ——یہ شخص تو بس یہ چاہتا ہے کہ تم کو اُن معبودوں سے برگشتہ کر دے جن کی عبادت تمہارے باپ دادا کرتے آئے ہیں—— اور کہتے ہیں کہ ——یہ (قرآن) محض ایک جھوٹ ہے گھڑا ہوا—— اِن کافروں کے سامنے جب حق آیا تو انہیں نے کہہ دیا کہ ——یہ تو صریح جادو ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And We have given them no scriptures which they study, nor sent We unto them, before thee, any warner. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We did not send to them, (the pagans), any books to study nor a Messenger to warn them, and those who lived before them had rejected the Truth. - Sarwar, Muhammad
