قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوٓا۟ أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَٰكُمْ عَنِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَآءَكُم ۖ بَلْ كُنتُم مُّجْرِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Those who were proud say unto those who were despised: Did we drive you away from the guidance after it had come unto you? Nay, but ye were guilty. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who were arrogant will say to those who were abased, [Did we keep you from guidance after it had come to you? No, you were guilty [yourselves].] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The suppressing ones will say to the oppressed ones, [Did we prevent you from having guidance after it had come to you? In fact, you yourselves were criminals.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Those who were proud shall say to those who were deemed weak: Did we turn you away from the guidance after it had come to you? Nay, you (yourselves) were guilty - Shakir, Habib

The haughty ones will then reply to the weak ones, [Did we keep you away from the guidance when it came to you? Indeed not. You yourselves were the guilty ones.] - Wahiduddin Khan

تو بڑے لوگ کمزور لوگوں سے کہیں گے کہ کیا ہم نے تمہیں ہدایت کے آنے کے بعد اس کے قبول کرنے سے روکا تھا ہرگز نہیں تم خود مجرم تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

Those who were despised say unto those who were proud: Nay but (it was your) scheming night and day, when ye commanded us to disbelieve in Allah and set up rivals unto Him. And they are filled with remorse when they behold the doom; and We place carcans on the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught save what they used to do? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who were abased will say to those who were arrogant, [No, [it was your] night and day plotting, when you prompted us to forswear Allah and to set up equals to Him.] They will hide their remorse when they sight the punishment, and We will put iron collars around the necks of the faithless. Shall they not be requited for what they used to do? - Qarai, Ali Quli

The oppressed ones will say to them, [It was you who planned night and day, ordering us to disbelieve God, and consider other things equal to Him.] They will hide their regret on seeing their torment. We shall chain the necks of the disbelievers. Can they be recompensed with other than what they deserved for their deeds? - Sarwar, Muhammad

And those who were deemed weak shall say to those who were proud. Nay, (it was) planning by night and day when you told us to disbelieve in Allah and to set up likes with Him. And they shall conceal regret when they shall see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved; they shall not be requited but what they did. - Shakir, Habib

Those deemed weak will say to those deemed great, [No, it was your scheming night and day when you commanded us to reject God and assign equals to Him.] But they will show their remorse when they see the punishment. We will put iron collars round the necks of those who had been bent on denying the truth. They will be requited only in proportion to their misdeeds. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور کمزور لوگ بڑے لوگوں سے کہیں گے کہ یہ تمہاری دن رات کی مکاری کا اثر ہے جب تم ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ خدا کا انکار کریں اور اس کے لئے مثل قرار دیں اور عذاب دیکھنے کے بعد لوگ اپنے دل ہی دل میں شرمندہ بھی ہوں گے اور ہم کفر اختیار کرنے والوں کی گردن میں طوق بھی ڈال دیں گے کیا ان کو اس کے علاوہ کوئی بدلہ دیا جائے گا جو اعمال یہ کرتے رہے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وہ دبے ہوئے لوگ ان بڑے بننے والوں سے کہیں گے، ——نہیں، بلکہ شب و روز کی مکاری تھی جب تم ہم سے کہتے تھے کہ ہم اللہ سے کفر کریں اور دوسروں کو اس کا ہمسر ٹھیرائیں—— آخرکار جب یہ لوگ عذاب دیکھیں گے تو اپنے دلوں میں پچھتائیں گے اور ہم اِن منکرین کے گلوں میں طوق ڈال دیں گے کیا لوگوں کو اِس کے سوا اور کوئی بدلہ دیا جا سکتا ہے کہ جیسے اعمال اُن کے تھے ویسی ہی جزا وہ پائیں؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کہیں گے وہ جو دبے ہوئے تھے ان سے جو اونچے کھینچتے تھے بلکہ رات دن کا داؤں (فریب) تھا جبکہ تم ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ اللہ کا انکار کریں اور اس کے برابر والے ٹھہرائیں، اور دل ہی دل میں پچھتانے لگے جب عذاب دیکھا اور ہم نے طوق ڈالے ان کی گردنوں میں جو منکر تھے وہ کیا بدلہ پائیں گے مگر وہی جو کچھ کرتے تھے - Ahmed Raza

اور کمزور لوگ (جواب میں) بڑا بننے والوں سے کہیں گے کہ (اس طرح نہیں) بلکہ یہ (تمہارے) شب و روز کے مکر و فریب نے ہمیں قبولِ حق سے باز رکھا جبکہ تم ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ ہم اللہ کے ساتھ کفر کریں اور اس کے ہمسر (شریک) ٹھہرائیں اور یہ لوگ جب عذابِ الٰہی کو دیکھیں گے تو ندامت و پشیمانی کو دل میں چھپائیں گے (دلوں میں پچھتائیں گے) اور ہم کافروں کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈالیں گے یہ لوگ (دنیا میں) جیسے عمل کرتے تھے (آج) ان کا ہی ان کو بدلہ دیا جائے گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And We sent not unto any township a warner, but its pampered ones declared: Lo! we are disbelievers in that wherewith ye have been sent. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We did not send a warner to any town without its affluent ones saying, [We indeed disbelieve in what you have been sent with.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Every time We sent a warner to a town, the rich ones therein said (to Our Messenger), [We have no faith in what you have brought (to us). - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We never sent a warner to a town but those who led lives in ease in it said: We are surely disbelievers in what you are sent with. - Shakir, Habib

For it has been thus whenever We sent a warner to any community. Its affluent ones said, [We reject what you have been sent with.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے کسی بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں بھیجا مگر یہ کہ اس کے بڑے لوگوں نے یہ کہہ دیا کہ ہم تمہارے پیغام کا انکار کرنے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کبھی ایسا نہیں ہوا کہ ہم نے کسی بستی میں ایک خبردار کرنے والا بھیجا ہو اور اس بستی کے کھاتے پیتے لوگوں نے یہ نہ کہا ہو کہ جو پیغام تم لے کر آئے ہو اس کو ہم نہیں مانتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور یہ بھی کہہ دیا کہ ہم اموال اور اولاد کے اعتبار سے تم سے بہتر ہیں اور ہم پر عذاب ہونے والا نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

Say (O Muhammad): Lo! my Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will and narroweth it (for whom He will). But most of mankind know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُم بِٱلَّتِى تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِندَنَا زُلْفَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَنْ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَآءُ ٱلضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِى ٱلْغُرُفَٰتِ ءَامِنُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And it is not your wealth nor your children that will bring you near unto Us, but he who believeth and doeth good (he draweth near). As for such, theirs will be twofold reward for what they did and they will dwell secure in lofty halls. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say: Lo! my Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will of His bondmen, and narroweth (it) for him. And whatsoever ye spend (for good) He replaceth it. And He is the Best of Providers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And on the day when He will gather them all together, He will say unto the angels: Did these worship you? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They will say: Be Thou Glorified. Thou (alone) art our Guardian, not them! Nay, but they worshipped the jinn; most of them were believers in them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They will say, [Immaculate are You! You are our wali, not they! No, they used to worship the jinn; most of them had faith in them.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They will reply, [All glory belongs to you. You are our guardian, not they. They had been worshipping the jinn and most of them had strong faith]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

They shall say: Glory be to Thee! Thou art our Guardian, not they; nay! they worshipped the jinn; most of them were believers in them. - Shakir, Habib

فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍۢ نَّفْعًۭا وَلَا ضَرًّۭا وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That day ye will possess no use nor hurt one for another. And We shall say unto those who did wrong: Taste the doom of the Fire which ye used to deny. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
