وَمَن

وَرَسُولِهِۦ

صَٰلِحًۭا

نُّؤْتِهَآ

أَجْرَهَا

مَرَّتَيْنِ

وَأَعْتَدْنَا

لَهَا

رِزْقًۭا

كَرِيمًۭا

٣١

وَمَن يَقْنُتْ مِنكُنَّ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًۭا نُّؤْتِهَآ أَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهَا رِزْقًۭا كَرِيمًۭا

⦿

And whosoever of you is submissive unto Allah and His messenger and doeth right, We shall give her her reward twice over, and We have prepared for her a rich provision.

⦿

But whoever of you is obedient to Allah and His Apostle and acts righteously, We shall give her a twofold reward, and We will have in store for her a noble provision.

To whoever of you obeys God and His Messenger and acts righteously, We will give double reward and a honorable sustenance.

And whoever of you is obedient to Allah and His Apostle and does good, We will give to her reward doubly, and We have prepared for her an honorable sustenance.

But those of you who obey God and His Messenger and do good deeds, shall be doubly rewarded. For them We have made an excellent provision.

اور جو بھی تم میں سے خدا اور رسول کی اطاعت کرے اور نیک اعمال کرے اسے دہرا اجر عطا کریں گے اور ہم نے اس کے لئے بہترین رزق فراہم کیا ہے

اور جو تم میں فرمانبردار رہے اللہ اور رسول کی اور اچھا کام کرے ہم اسے اوروں سے دُونا ثواب دیں گے اور ہم نے اس کے لیے عزت کی روزی تیار کر رکھی ہے

يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ إِنِ ٱتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِٱلْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ ٱلَّذِى فِى قَلْبِهِۦ مَرَضٌۭ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًۭا مَّعْرُوفًۭا

⦿

O ye wives of the Prophet! Ye are not like any other women. If ye keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft of speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease aspire (to you), but utter customary speech.

O wives of the Prophet! You are not like other women: if you are wary [of Allah], do not be complaisant in your speech, lest he in whose heart is a sickness should aspire; speak honourable words.

Wives of the Prophet, you are not like other women. If you have fear of God, do not be tender in your speech lest people whose hearts are sick may lust after you.

O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other of the women; If you will be on your guard, then be not soft in (your) speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word.

اے زنانِ پیغمبر تم اگر تقویٰ اختیار کرو تو تمہارا مرتبہ کسی عام عورت جیسا نہیں ہے لہٰذا کسی آدمی سے لگی لپٹی بات نہ کرنا کہ جس کے دل میں بیماری ہو اسے لالچ پیدا ہوجائے اور ہمیشہ نیک باتیں کیا کرو

نبیؐ کی بیویو، تم عام عورتوں کی طرح نہیں ہو اگر تم اللہ سے ڈرنے والی ہو تو دبی زبان سے بات نہ کیا کرو کہ دل کی خرابی کا مُبتلا کوئی شخص لالچ میں پڑ جائے، بلکہ صاف سیدھی بات کرو

اے نبی کی بیبیو! تم اور عورتوں کی طرح نہیں ہو اگر اللہ سے ڈرو تو بات میں ایسی نرمی نہ کرو کہ دل کا روگی کچھ لالچ کرے ہاں اچھی بات کہو

٣٣

وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًۭا

⦿

And stay in your houses. Bedizen not yourselves with the bedizenment of the Time of Ignorance. Be regular in prayer, and pay the poor-due, and obey Allah and His messenger. Allah's wish is but to remove uncleanness far from you, O Folk of the Household, and cleanse you with a thorough cleansing.

Stay in your houses and do not flaunt your finery like the former [days of pagan] ignorance. Maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Indeed Allah desires to repel all impurity from you, O People of the Household, and purify you with a thorough purification.

Do not display yourselves after the manner of the (pre-Islamic) age of darkness. Be steadfast in the prayer, pay the religious tax, and obey God and His Messenger. People of the house, God wants to remove all kinds of uncleanliness from you and to purify you thoroughly.

And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying.

Stay in your homes and do not flaunt your charms as in the former times of ignorance. Attend to your prayers, pay the zakat and obey God and His Messenger. Women of the [Prophet's] Household, God seeks only to remove all impurity from you, and to make you completely pure.

اور اپنے گھر میں بیٹھی رہو اور پہلی جاہلیت جیسا بناؤ سنگھار نہ کرو اور نماز قائم کرو اور زکوِٰادا کرو اوراللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرو - بس اللہ کا ارادہ یہ ہے اے اہلبیت علیھ السّلام کہ تم سے ہر برائی کو دور رکھے اور اس طرح پاک و پاکیزہ رکھے جو پاک و پاکیزہ رکھنے کا حق ہے

اپنے گھروں میں ٹِک کر رہو اور سابق دور جاہلیت کی سی سج دھج نہ دکھاتی پھرو نماز قائم کرو، زکوٰۃ دو اور اللہ اور اُس کے رسولؐ کی اطاعت کرو اللہ تو یہ چاہتا ہے کہ اہلِ بیتِ نبیؐ سے گندگی کو دور کرے اور تمہیں پوری طرح پاک کر دے

⦿

اور اپنے گھروں میں ٹھہری رہو اور بے پردہ نہ رہو جیسے اگلی جاہلیت کی بے پردگی اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰة دو اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا حکم مانو ا لله تو یہی چاہتا ہے، اے نبی کے گھر والو! کہ تم سے ہر ناپاکی دور فرما دے اور تمہیں پاک کرکے خوب ستھرا کردے

اور اپنے گھروں میں قرار سے رہو اور سابقہ زمانۂ جاہلیت کی طرح اپنی آرائش کی نمائش نہ کرتی پھرو (باہر نہ نکلا کرو) اور نماز قائم کرو اور زکوٰۃ ادا کرو اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کیا کرو۔ اے اہل بیت! اللہ تو بس یہی چاہتا ہے کہ تم سے ہر قسم کے رجس (آلودگی) کو دور رکھے اور تمہیں اس طرح پاک و پاکیزہ رکھے جس طرح پاک رکھنے کا حق ہے۔

وَٱذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَىٰ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْحِكْمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا

And bear in mind that which is recited in your houses of the revelations of Allah and wisdom. Lo! Allah is Subtile, Aware.

فُرُوجَهُمْ

وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَ

ٱللَّهَ

كَثِيرًۭا

وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِ

أَعَدَّ

[untranslated]

ٱللَّهُ

[untranslated]

لَهُم

[untranslated]

مَّغْفِرَةًۭ

وَأَجْرًا

[untranslated]

عَظِيمًۭا

٣٣

٣٥

إِنَّ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَٱلْمُسْلِمَٰتِ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰبِرَٰتِ وَٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ وَٱلْخَٰشِعَٰتِ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمِينَ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمَٰتِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَٱلْحَٰفِظَٰتِ وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةًۭ وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًۭا

⦿

Lo! men who surrender unto Allah, and women who surrender, and men who believe and women who believe, and men who obey and women who obey, and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth, and men who persevere (in righteousness) and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their modesty and women who guard (their modesty), and men who remember Allah much and women who remember - Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward.

Indeed the muslim men and the muslim women, the faithful men and the faithful women, the obedient men and the obedient women, the truthful men and the truthful women, the patient men and the patient women, the humble men and the humble women, the charitable men and the charitable women, the men who fast and the women who fast, the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, the men who remember Allah greatly and the women who remember [Allah greatly]—Allah holds in store for them forgiveness and a great reward.

God has promised forgiveness and great rewards to the Muslim men and the Muslim women, the believing men and the believing women, the obedient men and the obedient women, the truthful men and the truthful women, the forbearing men and the forbearing women, the humble men and the humble women, the alms-giving men and the alms-giving women, the fasting men and the fasting women, the chaste men and the chaste women, and the men and women who remember God very often.

Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember-- Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward.

Surely, for men and women who have surrendered [to God] -- believing men and believing women, obedient men and obedient women, truthful men and truthful women, patient men and patient women, humble men and humble women, charitable men and charitable women, fasting men and fasting women, men and women who guard their chastity, men and women who are ever mindful of God -- God is ready with forgiveness and an immense reward.

بیشک مسلمان مرد اور مسلمان عورتیں اور مومن مرد اور مومن عورتیں اور اطاعت گزار مرد اور اطاعت گزار عورتیں اور سچے مرد اور سچی عورتیں اور صابر مرد اور صابر عورتیں اور فروتنی کرنے والے مرد اور فروتنی کرنے والی عورتیں اور صدقہ دینے والے مرد اور صدقہ دینے والی عورتیں روزہ رکھنے والے مرد اور روزہ رکھنے والی عورتیں اور اپنی عفّت کی حفاظت کرنے والے مرد اور عورتیں اور خدا کا بکثرت ذکر کرنے والے مرد اور عورتیں.اللہ نے ان سب کے لئے مغفرت اور عظیم اجر مہّیاکررکھا ہے

بالیقین جو مرد اور جو عورتیں مسلم ہیں، مومن ہیں، مطیع فرمان ہیں، راست باز ہیں، صابر ہیں، اللہ کے آگے جھکنے والے ہیں، صدقہ دینے والے ہیں، روزہ رکھنے والے ہیں، اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کرنے والے ہیں، اور اللہ کو کثرت سے یاد کرنے والے ہیں، اللہ نے ان کے لیے مغفرت اور بڑا اجر مہیا کر رکھا ہے

بیشک مسلمان مرد اور مسلمان عورتیں اور ایمان والے اور ایمان والیاں اور فرمانبردار اور فرمانبرداریں اور سچے اور سچیاں اور صبر والے اور صبر والیاں اور عاجزی کرنے والے اور عاجزی کرنے والیاں اور خیرات کرنے والے اور خیرات کرنے والیاں اور روزے والے اورروزے والیاں اور اپنی پارسائی نگاہ رکھنے والے اور نگاہ رکھنے والیاں اور اللہ کو بہت یاد کرنے والے اور یاد کرنے والیاں ان سب کے لیے اس نے بخشش اور بڑا ثواب تیار کر رکھا ہے،

بے شک مسلمان مرد اور مسلمان عورتیں، مؤمن مرد اور مؤمن عورتیں، اطاعت گزار مرد اور اطاعت گزار عورتیں، سچے مرد اور سچی عورتیں، صابر مرد اور صابر عورتیں، عاجزی کرنے والے مرد اور عاجزی کرنے والی عورتیں، صدقہ دینے والے مرد اور صدقہ دینے والی عورتیں، روزہ دار مرد اور روزہ دار عورتیں، اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کرنے والے مرد اور حفاظت کرنے والی عورتیں اور اللہ کو بکثرت یاد کرنے والے مرد اور یاد کرنے والی عورتیں اللہ نے ان کیلئے مغفرت اور بڑا اجر و ثواب مہیا کر رکھا ہے۔

وَمَا

And not

كَانَ

was

لِمُؤْمِنٍۢ

for men of conviction

وَلَا

neither

مُؤْمِنَةٍ

(for) women of conviction

إِذَا

when

قَضَى

judges

ٱللَّهُ

the One

وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ

and His messenger

أَمْرًا

an affair,

أَن

that

يَكُونَ

there be

لَهُمُ

for them

ٱلْخِيَرَةُ

something better

مِنْ

from

أَمْرِهِمْ

command they are given;

وَمَن

and whoever

يَعْصِ

opposes

ٱللَّهَ

the One

وَرَسُولَهُۥ

and His messenger

فَقَدْ

thus certainly

ضَلَّ

has astrayed to

ضَلَٰلًۭا

darkness

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍۢ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ أَمْرًا أَن يَكُونَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ ۗ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۭا مُّبِينًۭا

And not was for men of conviction neither (for) women of conviction when judges the One and His messenger an affair, that there be for them something better from command they are given; and whoever opposes the One and His messenger thus certainly has astrayed to darkness clearly.

And it becometh not a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His messenger have decided an affair (for them), that they should (after that) claim any say in their affair; and whoso is rebellious to Allah and His messenger, he verily goeth astray in error manifest.

A faithful man or woman may not have any option in their matter, when Allah and His Apostle have decided on a matter, and whoever disobeys Allah and His Apostle has certainly strayed into manifest error.

And it behoves not a believing man and a believing woman that they should have any choice in their matter when Allah and His Apostle have decided a matter; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Apostle, he surely strays off a manifest straying.

وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِىٓ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ وَتُخْفِى فِى نَفْسِكَ مَا ٱللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ وَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَىٰهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ زَيْدٌۭ مِّنْهَا وَطَرًۭا زَوَّجْنَٰكَهَا لِكَىْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَرَجٌۭ فِىٓ أَزْوَٰجِ أَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ إِذَا قَضَوْا۟ مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًۭا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ مَفْعُولًۭا

And when thou saidst unto him on whom Allah hath conferred favour and thou hast conferred favour: Keep thy wife to thyself, and fear Allah. And thou didst hide in thy mind that which Allah was to bring to light, and thou didst fear mankind whereas Allah hath a better right that thou shouldst fear Him. So when Zeyd had performed that necessary formality (of divorce) from her, We gave her unto thee in marriage, so that (henceforth) there may be no sin for believers in respect of wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have performed the necessary formality (of release) from them. The commandment of Allah must be fulfilled.

When you said to him whom Allah had blessed, and whom you [too] had blessed, [Retain your wife for yourself, and be wary of Allah,] and you had hidden in your heart what Allah was to divulge, and you feared the people though Allah is worthier that you should fear Him, so when Zayd had got through with her, We wedded her to you, so that there may be no blame on the faithful in respect of the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have got through with them, and Allah]s command is bound to be fulfilled.

Say to the person to whom you and God have granted favor, [Keep your wife and have fear of God. You hide within yourself what God wants to make public. You are afraid of people while it is God whom one should fear.] When Zayd set her free, We gave her in marriage to you so that the believers would not face difficulties about the wives of their adopted sons when they are divorced. God's decree has already been issued.

And when you said to him to whom Allah had shown favor and to whom you had shown a favor: Keep your wife to yourself and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; and you concealed in your soul what Allah would bring to light, and you feared men, and Allah had a greater right that you should fear Him. But when Zaid had accomplished his want of her, We gave her to you as a wife, so that there should be no difficulty for the believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished their want of them; and Allah's command shall be performed.

You said to the man who had been favoured by God and by you, [Keep your wife to yourself and have fear of God.] You sought to hide in your heart what God wished to reveal. You were afraid of people, whereas it would have been more proper to fear God. When Zayd divorced his wife, We gave her to you in marriage, so that there should be no restriction on believers marrying the spouses of their adopted sons when they have divorced them. The commandment of God must be fulfilled.

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب تم اس شخص سے جس پر خدا نے بھی نعمت نازل کی اور تم نے بھی احسان کیا یہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ اپنی زوجہ کو روک کر رکھو اوراللہ سے ڈرو اور تم اپنے دل میں اس بات کو چھپائے ہوئے تھے جسے خدا ظاہر کرنے والا تھا اور تمہیں لوگوں کے طعنوں کا خوف تھا حالانکہ خدا زیادہ حقدار ہے کہ اس سے ڈرا جائے اس کے بعد جب زید نے اپنی حاجت پوری کرلی تو ہم نے اس عورت کا عقد تم سے کردیا تاکہ مومنین کے لئے منہ بولے بیٹوں کی بیویوں سے عقد کرنے میں کوئی حرج نہ رہے جب وہ لوگ اپنی ضرورت پوری کرچکیں اوراللہ کا حکم بہرحال نافذ ہوکر رہتا ہے

اے نبیؐ، یاد کرو وہ موقع جب تم اس شخص سے کہہ رہے تھے جس پر اللہ نے اور تم نے احسان کیا تھا کہ ——اپنی بیوی کو نہ چھوڑ اور اللہ سے ڈر—— اُس وقت تم اپنے دل میں وہ بات چھپائے ہوئے تھے جسے اللہ کھولنا چاہتا تھا، تم لوگوں سے ڈر رہے تھے، حالانکہ اللہ اس کا زیادہ حقدار ہے کہ تم اس سے ڈرو پھر جب زیدؓ اس سے اپنی حاجت پوری کر چکا تو ہم نے اس (مطلقہ خاتون) کا تم سے نکاح کر دیا تاکہ مومنوں پر اپنے منہ بولے بیٹوں کی بیویوں کے معاملہ میں کوئی تنگی نہ رہے جبکہ وہ ان سے اپنی حاجت پوری کر چکے ہوں اور اللہ کا حکم تو عمل میں آنا ہی چاہیے تھا

اور اے محبوب! یاد کرو جب تم فرماتے تھے اس سے جسے اللہ نے اسے نعمت دی اور تم نے اسے نعمت دی کہ اپنی بی بی اپنے پاس رہنے دے اور اللہ سے ڈر اور تم اپنے دل میں رکھتے تھے وہ جسے اللہ کو ظاہر کرنا منظور تھا اور تمہیں لوگوں کے طعنہ کا اندیشہ تھا اور اللہ زیادہ سزاوار ہے کہ اس کا خوف رکھو پھر جب زید کی غرض اس سے نکل گئی تو ہم نے وہ تمہارے نکاح میں دے دی کہ مسلمانوں پر کچھ حرج نہ رہے ان کے لے پالکوں (منہ بولے بیٹوں) کی بیبیوں میں جب ان سے ان کا کام ختم ہوجائے اور اللہ کا حکم ہوکر رہنا،

(اے رسول! وہ وقت یاد کرو) جب آپ اس شخص سے کہہ رہے تھے جس پر اللہ نے اور آپ نے احسان کیا تھا کہ اپنی بیوی کو اپنے پاس رہنے دے (اسے نہ چھوڑ) اور اللہ سے ڈر۔ اور آپ (اس وقت) وہ بات اپنے دل میں چھپا رہے تھے جسے اللہ ظاہر کرنے والا تھا اور آپ لوگوں (کی طعن و تشنیع) سے ڈر رہے تھے حالانکہ اللہ اس بات کا زیادہ حقدار ہے کہ آپ اس سے ڈریں (بہرحال) جب زید نے اس عورت (زینب) سے اپنی حاجت پوری کر لی (اسے طلاق دے دی) تو ہم نے اس خاتون کی شادی آپ سے کر دی تاکہ اہلِ ایمان پر اپنے منہ بولے بیٹوں کی بیویوں سے (نکاح کرنے) کے معاملے میں کوئی تنگی نہ رہ جائے جب وہ ان سے (اپنی) حاجت پوری کر چکے ہوں (اور انہیں طلاق دے کر فارغ کر چکے ہوں) اور اللہ کا حکم تو بہرحال ہوکر رہتا ہے۔

There is no reproach for the Prophet in that which Allah maketh his due. That was Allah's way with those who passed away of old - and the commandment of Allah is certain destiny -

Who delivered the messages of Allah and feared Him, and feared none save Allah. Allah keepeth good account.

Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allah is ever Aware of all things.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
