وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرٌّۭ دَعَوْا۟ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

⦿

And when harm toucheth men they cry unto their Lord, turning to Him in repentance; then, when they have tasted of His mercy, behold! some of them attribute partners to their Lord

When distress befalls people, they supplicate their Lord, turning to Him in penitence. Then, when He lets them taste His mercy, behold, a part of them ascribe partners to their Lord,

When people face hardship, they begin praying to their Lord and turn in repentance to Him. When they receive mercy from Him, a group of them begin to consider things equal to God,

اور لوگوں کو جب بھی کوئی مصیبت چھوجاتی ہے تو وہ پروردگار کو پوری توجہ کے ساتھ پکارتے ہیں اس کے بعد جب وہ رحمت کا مزہ چکھا دیتا ہے تو ان میں سے ایک گروہ شرک کرنے لگتا ہے

لوگوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب انہیں کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع کر کے اُسے پکارتے ہیں، پھر جب وہ کچھ اپنی رحمت کا ذائقہ انہیں چکھا دیتا ہے تو یکایک ان میں سے کچھ لوگ شرک کرنے لگتے ہیں

اور جب لوگوں کو تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو اپنے رب کو پکارتے ہیں اس کی طرف رجوع لاتے ہوئے پھر جب وہ انہیں اپنے پاس سے رحمت کا مزہ دیتا ہے جبھی ان میں سے ایک گروہ اپنے رب کا شریک ٹھہرانے لگتا ہے،

So as to disbelieve in that which We have given them. (Unto such it is said): Enjoy yourselves awhile, but ye will come to know.

Or have We revealed unto them any warrant which speaketh of that which they associate with Him?

وَإِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةًۭ فَرِحُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَقْنَطُونَ

⦿

And when We cause mankind to taste of mercy they rejoice therein; but if an evil thing befall them as the consequence of their own deeds, lo! they are in despair!

When We let people taste [Our] mercy, they boast about it; but should an ill visit them because of what their hands have sent ahead, behold, they become despondent!

When people receive mercy, they are happy with it. However, when hardship befalls them because of their own deeds, they despair.

جب ہم لوگوں کو رحمت کا ذائقہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اس پر پھول جاتے ہیں، اور جب ان کے اپنے کیے کرتوتوں سے ان پر کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو یکایک وہ مایوس ہونے لگتے ہیں

اور جب ہم لوگوں کو رحمت کا مزہ دیتے ہیں اس پر خوش ہوجاتے ہیں اور اگر انہیں کوئی برائی پہنچے بدلہ اس کا جو ان کے ہاتھوں نے بھیجا جبھی وہ ناامید ہوجاتے ہیں

اور جب ہم لوگوں کو (اپنی) زحمت کا مزہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اس سے خوش ہو جاتے ہیں اور جب ان پر ان کے اعمال کی پاداش میں جو وہ پہلے اپنے ہاتھوں کر چکے ہیں کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو ایک دم مایوس ہو جاتے ہیں۔

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ

⦿

See they not that Allah enlargeth the provision for whom He will, and straiteneth (it for whom He will). Lo! herein indeed are portents for folk who believe.

Do they not see that Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it? There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.

Have they not seen how God increases the livelihood of whomever He wants and determines his share. In this there is evidence (of the truth) for the believing people.

Do they not see that Allah makes ample provision for whom He pleases, or straitens? Most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.

Do they not see that God gives abundantly to whoever He pleases, and sparingly to whoever He pleases? In that truly there are signs for those who believe.

تو کیا ان لوگوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ خدا جس کے رزق میں چاہتا ہے وسعت پیدا کردیتا ہے اور جس کے یہاں چاہتا ہے کمی کردیتا ہے اور اس میں بھی صاحبِ ایمان قوم کے لئے اس کی نشانیاں ہیں

کیا یہ لوگ دیکھتے نہیں ہیں کہ اللہ ہی رزق کشادہ کرتا ہے جس کا چاہتا ہے اور تنگ کرتا ہے (جس کا چاہتا ہے) یقیناً اس میں بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو ایمان لاتے ہیں

اور کیا انہوں نے نہ دیکھا کہ اللہ رزق وسیع فرماتا ہے جس کے لیے چاہے اور تنگی فرماتا ہے جس کے لیے چاہے بیشک اس میں نشانیاں ہیں ایمان والوں کے لیے،

فَـَٔاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

⦿

So give to the kinsman his due, and to the needy, and to the wayfarer. That is best for those who seek Allah's Countenance. And such are they who are successful.

Give the relative his due, and the needy and the traveller [as well]. That is better for those who seek Allah]s pleasure, and it is they who are the felicitous.

Give the relatives, the destitute, and the needy travellers their share (of charity). It is better for those who want to please God and they will have everlasting happiness.

Then give to the near of kin his due, and to the needy and the wayfarer; this is best for those who desire Allah's pleasure, and these it is who are successful.

So give the near relative, the needy, and the wayfarer their due -- that is best for those who seek God's pleasure: such men are the ones who will surely prosper.

اور تم قرابتدار مسکین اور غربت زدہ مسافر کو اس کا حق دے دو کہ یہ ان لوگوں کے حق میں خیر ہے جو رضائے الہٰی کے طلب گار ہیں اور وہی حقیقتا نجات حاصل کرنے والے ہیں

پس (اے مومن) رشتہ دار کو اس کا حق دے اور مسکین و مسافر کو (اُس کا حق) یہ طریقہ بہتر ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو اللہ کی خوشنودی چاہتے ہوں، اور وہی فلاح پانے والے ہیں

تو رشتہ دار کو اس کا حق دو اور مسکین اور مسافر کو یہ بہتر ہے ان کے لیے جو اللہ کی رضا چاہتے ہیں اور انہیں کا کام بنا،

پس (اے رسول(ص)) آپ (اپنے) قرابتدار مسکین اور مسافر کو ان کا حق دے دیں۔ یہ ان لوگوں کیلئے بہتر ہے جو رضائے خدا کے طلبگار ہیں اور یہی لوگ فلاح پانے والے ہیں۔

٣٩

وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن رِّبًۭا لِّيَرْبُوَا۟ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن زَكَوٰةٍۢ تُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُضْعِفُونَ

⦿

That which ye give in usury in order that it may increase on (other) people's property hath no increase with Allah; but that which ye give in charity, seeking Allah's Countenance, hath increase manifold.

⦿

What you give in usury in order that it may increase people]s wealth does not increase with Allah. But what you pay as zakat seeking Allah]s pleasure—it is they who will be given a manifold increase.

⦿

God will not allow to increase whatever illegal interest you try to receive in order to increase your wealth at the expense of people's property. Whatever amount of zakat you give to please God will be doubled (for you).

⦿

And whatever you lay out as usury, so that it may increase in the property of men, it shall not increase with Allah; and whatever you give in charity, desiring Allah's pleasure-- it is these (persons) that shall get manifold.

Whatever you lend out in usury to gain in value through other people's wealth will not increase in God's eyes, but whatever you give in alms in your desire for God's pleasure will be multiplied.

اور تم لوگ جوبھی سود دیتے ہو کہ لوگوں کے مال میں اضافہ ہوجائے تو خدا کے یہاں کوئی اضافہ نہیں ہوتا ہے ہاں جو زکوِٰ دیتے ہو اور اس میں رضائے خدا کا ارادہ ہوتا ہے تو ایسے لوگوں کو دگنا چوگنا دے دیا جاتا ہے

⦿

جو سُود تم دیتے ہو تاکہ لوگوں کے اموال میں شامل ہو کر وہ بڑھ جائے، اللہ کے نزدیک وہ نہیں بڑھتا، اور جو زکوٰۃ تم اللہ کی خوشنودی حاصل کرنے کے ارادے سے دیتے ہو، اسی کے دینے والے در حقیقت اپنے مال بڑھاتے ہیں

اور تم جو چیز زیادہ لینے کو دو کہ دینے والے کے مال بڑھیں تو وہ اللہ کے یہاں نہ بڑھے گی اور جو تم خیرات دو اللہ کی رضا چاہتے ہوئے تو انہیں کے دُونے ہیں

اور جو چیز (روپیہ) تم اس لئے سود پر دیتے ہو کہ لوگوں کے مال میں شامل ہوکر بڑھ جائے تو وہ اللہ کے نزدیک نہیں بڑھتا اور جو زکوٰۃ تم خوشنودئ خدا کیلئے دیتے ہو ایسے ہی لوگ اپنا مال (کئی گنا) بڑھانے والے ہیں۔

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفْعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Allah is He Who created you and then sustained you, then causeth you to die, then giveth life to you again. Is there any of your (so-called) partners (of Allah) that doeth aught of that? Praised and Exalted be He above what they associate (with Him)!

So set thy purpose resolutely for the right religion, before the inevitable day cometh from Allah. On that day mankind will be sundered-

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
