And let not those who disbelieve imagine that the rein We give them bodeth good unto their souls. We only give them rein that they may grow in sinfulness. And theirs will be a shameful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Let the faithless not suppose that the respite that We grant them is good for their souls: We give them respite only that they may increase in sin, and there is a humiliating punishment for them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

It is not (the purpose) of Allah to leave you in your present state till He shall separate the wicked from the good. And it is not (the purpose of) Allah to let you know the Unseen. But Allah chooseth of His messengers whom He will, (to receive knowledge thereof). So believe in Allah and His messengers. If ye believe and ward off (evil), yours will be a vast reward. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Allah will not leave the faithful in your present state, until He has separated the bad ones from the good. Allah will not acquaint you with the Unseen, but Allah chooses whomever He wishes from His apostles. So have faith in Allah and His apostles; and if you are faithful and Godwary, there shall be a great reward for you. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God left the believers in their existing state for no other reason than to distinguish the evil-doers from the virtuous ones. God does not inform you of the unseen. He chooses for such information anyone of His Messengers that He wants. Have faith in God and in His Messengers. If you have faith and are pious, there will be a great reward for you. - Sarwar, Muhammad

خدا صاحبان هایمان کو ان ہی حالات میں نہیں چھوڑ سکتا جب تک خبیث اور طیّب کو الگ الگ نہ کردے اور وہ تم کو غیب پر مطلع بھی نہیں کرنا چاہتا ہاں اپنے نمائندوں میں سے کچھ لوگوں کو اس کام کے لئے منتخب کرلیتا ہے لہذا تم خدا اور رسول پر ایمان رکھو اور اگر ایمان و تقوٰی اختیار کرو گے تو تمہارے لئے اجر عظیم ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اللہ مومنوں کو اس حالت میں ہرگز نہ رہنے دے گا جس میں تم اس وقت پائے جاتے ہو وہ پاک لوگوں کو ناپاک لوگوں سے الگ کر کے رہے گا مگر اللہ کا یہ طریقہ نہیں ہے کہ تم کو غیب پر مطلع کر دے غیب کی باتیں بتانے کے لیے تو وہ اپنے رسولوں میں جس کو چاہتا ہے منتخب کر لیتا ہے لہٰذا (امور غیب کے بارے میں) اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان رکھو اگر تم ایمان اور خدا ترسی کی روش پر چلو گے تو تم کو بڑا اجر ملے گا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اللہ مسلمانوں کو اس حال پر چھوڑنے کا نہیں جس پر تم ہو جب تک جدا نہ کردے گندے کو ستھرے سے اور اللہ کی شان یہ نہیں کہ اے عام لوگو! تمہیں غیب کا علم دے دے ہاں اللہ چن لیتا ہے اپنے رسولوں سے جسے چاہے تو ایمان لاؤ اللہ اور اس کے رسولوں پر اور اگر ایمان لاؤ اور پرہیزگاری کرو تو تمہارے لئے بڑا ثواب ہے، - Ahmed Raza

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُم ۖ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّۭ لَّهُمْ ۖ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And let not those who hoard up that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty think that it is better for them. Nay, it is worse for them. That which they hoard will be their collar on the Day of Resurrection. Allah's is the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Informed of what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Let the stingy not suppose that [their grudging] what Allah has given them out of His bounty is good for them; no, it is bad for them. They will be collared with what they grudge on the Day of Resurrection. To Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is well aware of what you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who are avaricious of the favors that God has given them should not think that this is good for them. Avarice is evil and whatever they are avaricious about will be tied to their necks on the Day of Judgment. To God belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And let not those deem, who are niggardly in giving away that which Allah has granted them out of His grace, that it is good for them; nay, it is worse for them; they shall have that whereof they were niggardly made to cleave to their necks on the resurrection day; and Allah's is the heritage of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is aware of what you do. - Shakir, Habib

What they are niggardly about shall be hung about their necks like a collar on the Day of Resurrection. اور خبردار جو لوگ خدا کے دیئے ہوئے میں بخل کرتے ہیں ان کے بارے میں یہ نہ سوچنا کہ اس بخل میں کچھ بھلائی ہے- یہ بہت اِرا ہے اور عنقریب جس مال میں بخل کیا ہے وہ روزِ قیامت ان کی گردن میں طوق بنا دیا جائے گا اور اللہ ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان کی ملکیت ہے اور وہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جن لوگوں کو اللہ نے اپنے فضل سے نوازا ہے اور پھر وہ بخل سے کام لیتے ہیں وہ اس خیال میں نہ رہیں کہ یہ بخیلی ان کے لیے اچھی ہے نہیں، یہ ان کے حق میں نہایت بری ہے جو کچھ وہ اپنی کنجوسی سے جمع کر رہے ہیں وہی قیامت کے روز ان کے گلے کا طوق بن جائے گا زمین اور آسمانوں کی میراث اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے اور تم جو کچھ کرتے ہو اللہ اس سے باخبر ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جو بخل کرتے ہیں اس چیز میں جو اللہ نے انہیں اپنے فضل سے دی ہرگز اسے اپنے لئے اچھا نہ سمجھیں بلکہ وہ ان کے لئے برا ہے، عنقریب وہ جس میں بخل کیا تھا قیامت کے دن ان کے گلے کا طوق ہوگا اور اللہ ہی وارث ہے آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور اللہ تمہارے کاموں سے خبردار ہے، - Ahmed Raza

Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said, (when asked for contributions to the war): [Allah, forsooth, is poor, and we are rich!] We shall record their saying with their slaying of the prophets wrongfully and We shall say: Taste ye the punishment of burning! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Allah has certainly heard the remark of those who said, [Allah is poor and we are rich.] We will record what they have said, and their killing of the prophets unjustly, and We shall say, [Taste the punishment of the burning. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God certainly has heard the words of those who said, [God is poor and we are wealthy]. We shall write down what they have said and their murder of the Prophets without reason and We shall tell them to suffer the burning torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Allah has certainly heard the saying of those who said: Surely Allah is poor and we are rich. I will record what they say, and their killing the prophets unjustly, and I will say: Taste the chastisement of burning. - Shakir, Habib
