مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍۢ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍۢ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

⦿

The likeness of that which they spend in this life of the world is as the likeness of a biting, icy wind which smiteth the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves, and devastateth it. Allah wronged them not, but they do wrong themselves.

The parable of what they spend in the life of this world is that of a cold wind that strikes the tillage of a people who wronged themselves, destroying it. Allah does not wrong them, but they wrong themselves.

جو کچھ وہ اپنی اس دنیا کی زندگی میں خرچ کر رہے ہیں اُس کی مثال اُس ہوا کی سی ہے جس میں پالا ہو اور وہ اُن لوگوں کی کھیتی پر چلے جنہوں نے اپنے اوپر ظلم کیا ہے اور اسے برباد کر کے رکھ دے اللہ نے ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا در حقیقت یہ خود اپنے اوپر ظلم کر رہے ہیں

کہاوت اس کی جو اس دنیا میں زندگی میں خرچ کرتے ہیں اس ہوا کی سی ہے جس میں پالا ہو وہ ایک ایسی قوم کی کھیتی پر پڑی جو اپنا ہی برا کرتے تھے تو اسے بالکل مارگئی اور اللہ نے ان پر ظلم نہ کیا ہاں وہ خود اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کرتے ہیں،

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةًۭ مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًۭا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

⦿

O ye who believe! Take not for intimates others than your own folk, who would spare no pains to ruin you; they love to hamper you. Hatred is revealed by (the utterance of) their mouths, but that which their breasts hide is greater. We have made plain for you the revelations if ye will understand.

O you who have faith! Do not take your confidants from others than yourselves; they will spare nothing to ruin you. They are eager to see you in distress. Hatred has already shown itself from their mouths, and what their breasts hide [within] is yet worse. We have certainly made the signs clear for you, should you exercise your reason.

Believers, do not expose your privacy to the unbelievers. They like to mislead you and see that you are seriously harmed. Signs of animosity from their mouths have already become audible, but what they hide in their heads is even worse. We have certainly made Our evidence clear, if only you would consider it.

O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people; they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand.

Believers, do not take outsiders as your intimate friends, they will spare no effort to harm you. They love to see you suffer; their hatred is evident from the words which fall from their mouths. But what their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made Our signs clear to you; will you not understand?

اے ایمان والو خبردار غیروں کو اپنا راز دار نہ بنانا یہ تمہیں نقصان پہنچانے میں کوئی کوتاہی نہ کریں گے- یہ صرف تمہاری مشقت و مصیبت کے خواہش مند ہیں- ان کی عداوت زبان سے بھی ظاہر ہے اور جو دل میں چھپا رکھا ہے وہ تو بہت زیادہ ہے. ہم نے تمہارے لئے نشانیوں کو واضح کرکے بیان کردیا ہے اگر تم صاحبانِ عقل ہو

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، اپنی جماعت کے لوگوں کے سوا دوسروں کو اپنا راز دار نہ بناؤ وہ تمہاری خرابی کے کسی موقع سے فائدہ اٹھانے میں نہیں چوکتے تمہیں جس چیز سے نقصان پہنچے وہی ان کو محبوب ہے ان کے دل کا بغض ان کے منہ سے نکلا پڑتا ہے اور جو کچھ وہ اپنے سینوں میں چھپائے ہوئے ہیں وہ اس سے شدید تر ہے ہم نے تمہیں صاف صاف ہدایات دے دی ہیں، اگر تم عقل رکھتے ہو (تو ان سے تعلق رکھنے میں احتیاط برتو گے)

اے ایمان والو! غیروں کو اپنا راز دار نہ بناؤ وہ تمہاری برائی میں کمی نہیں کرتے ان کی آرزو ہے، جتنی ایذا پہنچے بیَر ان کی باتوں سے جھلک اٹھا اور وہ جو سینے میں چھپائے ہیں اور بڑا ہے، ہم نے نشانیاں تمہیں کھول کر سنادیں اگر تمہیں عقل ہو

اے ایمان والو! اپنے (لوگوں کے) سوا دوسرے ایسے لوگوں کو اپنا جگری دوست (رازدار) نہ بناؤ جو تمہیں نقصان پہنچانے میں کوئی کسر اٹھا نہیں رکھتے۔ جو چیز تمہیں مصیبت و زحمت میں مبتلا کرے وہ اسے محبوب رکھتے ہیں بغض و عناد ان کے مونہوں سے ٹپکتا ہے۔ اور جو کچھ ان کے سینے چھپائے ہوئے ہیں وہ اس سے کہیں بڑھ کر ہے۔ ہم نے تمہارے لئے نشانیاں کھول کر بیان کر دی ہیں اگر تم عقل سے کام لو۔

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ ۚ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts.

Ah! You are the ones who bear love towards them, while they do not love you, though you believe in all the Books. When they meet you, they say, [We believe,] but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you out of rage. Say, [Die of your rage!] Indeed Allah knows well what is in the breasts.

There are people whom you love, but they do not love you, despite your belief in all the (heavenly) Books. On meeting you They proclaim belief on meeting you, but in private, bite their fingers at you in anger. Tell them, [Perish in your rage! God knows well what is in everyone's hearts].

Lo! you are they who will love them while they do not love you, and you believe in the Book (in) the whole of it; and when they meet you they say: We believe, and when they are alone, they bite the ends of their fingers in rage against you. Say: Die in your rage; surely Allah knows what is in the breasts.

It is you who love them, but they do not love you; you believe in all the revealed Books. When they meet you, they say, [We believe,] but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips with rage. Say, [Die of rage!] God is aware of what your hearts contain.

خبردار... تم ان سے دوستی کرتے ہو اور یہ تم سے دوستی نہیں کرتے ہیں- تم تمام کتابوں پر ایمان رکھتے ہو اور یہ جب تم سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لے آئے اور جب اکیلے ہوتے ہیں تو غّصہ سے انگلیاںکاٹتے ہیں- پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ تم اسی غّصہ میں مرجاؤ. خدا سب کے دل کے حالات سے خوب باخبر ہے

تم ان سے محبت رکھتے ہو مگر وہ تم سے محبت نہیں رکھتے حالانکہ تم تمام کتب آسمانی کو مانتے ہو جب وہ تم سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے بھی (تمہارے رسول اور تمہاری کتاب کو) مان لیا ہے، مگر جب جدا ہوتے ہیں تو تمہارے خلاف ان کے غیظ و غضب کا یہ حال ہوتا ہے کہ اپنی انگلیاں چبانے لگتے ہیں ان سے کہہ دو کہ اپنے غصہ میں آپ جل مرو اللہ دلوں کے چھپے ہوئے راز تک جانتا ہے

سنتے ہو یہ جو تم ہو تم تو انہیں چاہتے ہو اور وہ تمہیں نہیں چاہتے اور حال یہ کہ تم سب کتابوں پر ایمان لاتے ہو اور وہ جب تم سے ملتے ہیں کہتے ہیں ہم ایمان لائے اور اکیلے ہوں تو تم پر انگلیاں چبائیں غصہ سے تم فرمادو کہ مرجاؤ اپنی گھٹن (قلبی جلن) میں اللہ خوب جانتا ہے دلوں کی بات،

تم ایسے (سیدھے) ہو کہ تم ان سے محبت کرتے ہو مگر وہ تم سے محبت نہیں کرتے۔ حالانکہ تم (آسمانی) کتاب پر ایمان رکھتے ہو۔ (ان کی حالت یہ ہے کہ) جب تم سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لائے۔ اور جب اکیلے ہوتے ہیں تو تمہارے خلاف غیظ و غضب سے اپنی انگلیاں چبانے لگتے ہیں۔ ان سے کہہ دو کہ اپنے غم و غصہ سے مر جاؤ۔ بے شک اللہ سینے کے اندر والی باتوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔

إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌۭ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۭ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌۭ

⦿

If a lucky chance befall you, it is evil unto them, and if disaster strike you they rejoice thereat. But if ye persevere and keep from evil their guile will never harm you. Lo! Allah is Surrounding what they do.

If some good should befall you, it upsets them, but if some ill befalls you, they rejoice at it. Yet if you are patient and Godwary, their guile will not harm you in any way. Indeed Allah encompasses what they do.

They hate to see your success and rejoice if any misfortune befalls you. If you will be patient and pious, their plots can cause no harm to you. God has control over all their actions.

If good befalls you, it grieves them, and if an evil afflicts you, they rejoice at it; and if you are patient and guard yourselves, their scheme will not injure you in any way; surely Allah comprehends what they do.

Whenever something good happens to you, it grieves them; but when evil befalls you, they rejoice. If you persevere and fear God, their designs will never harm you in the least: God encompasses all that they do.

تمہیں ذرا بھی نیکی ملے تو انہیں برا لگے گا اور تمہیں تکلیف پہنچ جائے گی تو خوش ہوں گے اور اگر تم صبر کرو اور تقوٰی اختیار کرو تو ان کے مکر سے کوئی نقصان نہ ہوگا خدا ان کے اعمال کا احاطہ کئے ہوئے ہے

تمہارا بھلا ہوتا ہے تو ان کو برا معلوم ہوتا ہے، اور تم پر کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو یہ خوش ہوتے ہیں مگر ان کی کوئی تدبیر تمہارے خلاف کارگر نہیں ہوسکتی بشرطیکہ تم صبر سے کام لو اور اللہ سے ڈر کر کام کرتے رہو جو کچھ یہ کر رہے ہیں اللہ اُس پر حاوی ہے

تمہیں کوئی بھلائی پہنچے تو انہیں برا لگے اور تم کہ برائی پہنچے تو اس پر خوش ہوں، اور اگر تم صبر اور پرہیزگاری کیے رہو تو ان کا داؤ تمہارا کچھ نہ بگاڑے گا، بیشک ان کے سب کام خدا کے گھیرے میں ہیں،

جب تمہیں کوئی بھلائی چھو بھی جائے تو ان کو برا لگتا ہے اور اگر تمہیں کوئی برائی پہنچے تو وہ اس سے خوش ہوتے ہیں اور اگر تم صبر سے کام کرو۔ اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کرو تو ان کی ترکیبیں اور چالیں تمہیں کچھ نقصان نہیں پہنچائیں گی۔ بے شک جو کچھ یہ لوگ کر رہے ہیں خدا اس کا علمی احاطہ کئے ہوئے ہے۔

And when thou settedst forth at daybreak from thy housefolk to assign to the believers their positions for the battle, Allah was Hearer, Knower.

When you left your family at dawn to settle the faithful in their positions for battle —and Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

(اے پیغمبرؐ! مسلمانوں کے سامنے اُس موقع کا ذکر کرو) جب تم صبح سویرے اپنے گھر سے نکلے تھے اور (احد کے میدان میں) مسلمانوں کو جنگ کے لیے جا بجا مامور کر رہے تھے اللہ ساری باتیں سنتا ہے اور وہ نہایت باخبر ہے

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
