أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌۭ

See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it? Lo! for Allah that is easy.

Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

Say, [Travel over the land and observe how He has originated the creation.] Then Allah will bring about the genesis of the Hereafter. Indeed Allah has power over all things.

He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned.

Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend or helper.

You cannot frustrate Him on the earth or in the sky, nor do you have besides Allah any guardian or helper.

You cannot challenge God in the heavens or in the earth. No one besides God is your guardian or helper.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِقَآئِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَئِسُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَتِى وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

⦿

Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in (their) Meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there is a painful doom.

Those who deny the signs of Allah and the encounter with Him—they have despaired of My mercy, and for such there is a painful punishment.

Those who have rejected God's revelations have no hope in receiving His mercy. They will face a painful torment.

فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ

⦿

But the answer of his folk was only that they said: [Kill him] or [Burn him.] Then Allah saved him from the Fire. Lo! herein verily are portents for folk who believe.

But the only answer of his people was that they said, [Kill him, or burn him.] Then Allah delivered him from the fire. There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.

(Abraham's) people had no answer except suggesting, [Kill him or burn him.] But God saved him from the fire. In this there is evidence (of truth) for the believing people.

So naught was the answer of his people except that they said: Slay him or burn him; then Allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.

پھر اُس کی قوم کا جواب اِس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ انہوں نے کہا ——قتل کر دو اِسے یا جلا ڈالو اِس کو—— آخر کار اللہ نے اسے آگ سے بچا لیا، یقیناً اس میں نشانیاں ہیں اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو ایمان لانے والے ہیں

تو اس کی قوم کو کچھ جواب بن نہ آیا مگر یہ بولے انہیں قتل کردو یا جلادو تو اللہ نے اسے آگ سے بچالیا بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانیاں ہیں ایمان والوں کے لیے

وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَٰنًۭا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍۢ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًۭا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

He said: Ye have chosen only idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers.

He said, [You have taken idols [for worship] besides Allah for the sake of [mutual] affection amongst yourselves in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will disown one another and curse one another, and the Fire will be your abode, and you will not have any helpers.]

Abraham said, [You believe in idols besides God only out of worldly love, but on the Day of Judgment you will reject and condemn each other. Your dwelling will be fire and no one will help you.]

And he said: You have only taken for yourselves idols besides Allah by way of friendship between you in this world's life, then on the resurrection day some of you shall deny others, and some of you shall curse others, and your abode is the fire, and you shall not have any helpers.

Abraham said, [You have taken up the worship of idols, instead of God, to promote friendship between yourselves in the present life. But on the Day of Judgement, you will disown and curse one another. Your abode will be the Fire and you will have no helpers.]

اور ابراہیم نے کہا کہ تم نے صرف زندگانی دنیا کی محبتوں کو برقرار رکھنے کے لئے خدا کو چھوڑ کر بتوں کو اختیار کرلیا ہے اس کے بعد روز هقیامت تم میں سے ہر ایک دوسرے کا انکار کرے گا اور ایک دوسرے پر لعنت کرے گا جب کہ تم سب کا انجام جہّنم ہوگا اور تمہارا کوئی مددگار نہ ہوگا

اور اُس نے کہا ——تم نے دنیا کی زندگی میں تو اللہ کو چھوڑ کر بتوں کو اپنے درمیان محبت کا ذریعہ بنا لیا ہے مگر قیامت کے روز تم ایک دُوسرے کا انکار اور ایک دُوسرے پر لعنت کرو گے اور آگ تمہارا ٹھکانا ہو گی اور کوئی تمہارا مدد گار نہ ہو گا——

اور ابراہیم نے فرمایا تم نے تو اللہ کے سوا یہ بت بنالیے ہیں جن سے تمہاری دوستی یہی دنیا کی زندگی تک ہے پھر قیامت کے دن تم میں ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ کفر کرے گا اور ایک دوسرے پر لعنت ڈالے گا اور تم سب کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہے اور تمہارا کوئی مددگار نہیں

اور ابراہیم نے (اپنی قوم سے) کہا کہ تم نے اللہ کو چھوڑ کر زندگانی دنیا میں باہمی محبت کا ذریعہ سمجھ کر ان بتوں کو اختیار کر رکھا ہے پھر قیامت کے دن تم ایک دوسرے کا انکار کروگے اور ایک دوسرے پر لعنت کروگے اور تمہارا ٹھکانہ دوزخ ہوگا۔ اور تمہارا کوئی مددگار نہ ہوگا۔

فَـَٔامَنَ لَهُۥ لُوطٌۭ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّى مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

And Lot believed him, and said: Lo! I am a fugitive unto my Lord. Lo! He, only He, is the Mighty, the Wise.

Thereupon Lot believed in him, and he said, [Indeed I am migrating toward my Lord. Indeed He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.]

ذُرِّيَّتِهِ

his lineage

ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ

the leadership

وَٱلْكِتَٰبَ

and the Book,

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ

and We gave him

أَجْرَهُۥ

his reward

فِى

ٱلدُّنْيَا

the World,

وَإِنَّهُۥ

and indeed he

فِى

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

the forth-coming is

لَمِنَ

from those who are

ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

the constructive-workers.

٢٩

٢٧

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِ ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ أَجْرَهُۥ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

And We granted to him Ishaaq and Yaqoob, and We placed in his lineage the leadership and the Book, and We gave him his reward in the World, and indeed he in the forth-coming is from those who are the constructive-workers.

And We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We established the prophethood and the Scripture among his seed, and We gave him his reward in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he verily is among the righteous.

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Lo! ye commit lewdness such as no creature did before you.

أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ ٱلسَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِى نَادِيكُمُ ٱلْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

For come ye not in unto males, and cut ye not the road (for travellers), and commit ye not abomination in your meetings? But the answer of his folk was only that they said: Bring Allah's doom upon us if thou art a truthteller!

What! Do you come to men, and cut off the way, and commit outrages in your gatherings?] But the only answer of his people was that they said, [Bring down us Allah]s punishment, if you are truthful.]

Do you engage in carnal relations with men, rob the travellers, and commit evil in your gatherings? His people had no answer but to say, [Bring upon us the torment of God if you are truthful].

What! do you come to the males and commit robbery on the highway, and you commit evil deeds in your assemblies? But nothing was the answer of his people except that they said: Bring on us Allah's punishment, if you are one of the truthful.

کیا تمہارا حال یہ ہے کہ مَردوں کے پاس جاتے ہو، اور رہزنی کرتے ہو اور اپنی مجلسوں میں بُرے کام کرتے ہو؟—— پھر کوئی جواب اس کی قوم کے پاس اس کے سوا نہ تھا کہ انہوں نے کہا ——لے آ اللہ کا عذاب اگر تو سچّا ہے——

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
