وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَآ ۚ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمْ حَرَمًا ءَامِنًۭا يُجْبَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَٰتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ رِّزْقًۭا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And they say: If we were to follow the Guidance with thee we should be torn out of our land. Have We not established for them a sure sanctuary, whereunto the produce of all things is brought (in trade), a provision from Our presence? But most of them know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They say, [If we follow the guidance with you, we will be forced out of our territory.] Did We not establish a secure sanctuary for them where fruits of all kinds are brought as a provision from Us? But most of them do not know. - Qarai, Ali Quli

They, (the pagans), say, [If we were to follow your guidance we would be snatched away from our land. Have We not given them the secure, holy precinct wherein all types of fruits are brought to them as a sustenance from Us? However, many of them do not know it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they say: If we follow the guidance with you, we shall be carried off from our country. What! have We not settled them in a safe, sacred territory to which fruits of every kind shall be drawn?-- a sustenance from Us; but most of them do not know. - Shakir, Habib

They say, [If we were to follow your guidance, we should be uprooted from our land.] But have We not established for them a safe haven to which fruits of every kind are brought as a provision from Ourself? But most of them have no knowledge. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور یہ کفاّر کہتے ہیں کہ ہم آپ کے ساتھ حق کی پیروی کریں گے تو اپنی زمین سے اچک لئے جائیں گے تو کیا ہم نے انہیں ایک محفوظ حرم پر قبضہ نہیں دیا ہے جس کی طرف ہر شے کے پھل ہماری دی ہوئی روزی کی بنا پر چلے آرہے ہیں لیکن ان کی اکثریت سمجھتی ہی نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وہ کہتے ہیں ——اگر ہم تمہارے ساتھ اِس ہدایت کی پیروی اختیار کر لیں تو اپنی زمین سے اُچک لیے جائیں گے—— کیا یہ واقعہ نہیں ہے کہ ہم نے ایک پرامن حرم کو ان کے لیے جائے قیام بنا دیا جس کی طرف ہر طرح کے ثمرات کھچے چلے آتے ہیں، ہماری طرف سے رزق کے طور پر؟ مگر ان میں سے اکثر لوگ جانتے نہیں ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کہتے ہیں اگر ہم تمہارے ساتھ ہدایت کی پیروی کریں تو لوگ ہمارے ملک سے ہمیں اچک لے جائیں گے کیا ہم نے انہیں جگہ نہ دی امان والی حرم میں جس کی طرف ہر چیز کے پھل لائے جاتے ہیں ہمارے پاس کی روزی لیکن ان میں اکثر کو علم نہیں - Ahmed Raza

اور وہ (کفارِ مکہ) کہتے ہیں کہ اگر ہم آپ کے ساتھ ہدایت کی پیروی کریں تو ہمیں اپنی سر زمین سے اچک لیا جائے گا (یہاں سے نکال دیا جائے گا) کیا ہم نے ان کو ایسے امن والے محترم مقام میں جگہ نہیں دی؟ جہاں ہماری طرف سے رزق کے طور پر ہر قسم کے پھل لائے جاتے ہیں مگر ان میں سے اکثر لوگ جانتے نہیں ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۭ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا ۖ فَتِلْكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا ۖ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And how many a community have We destroyed that was thankless for its means of livelihood! And yonder are their dwellings, which have not been inhabited after them save a little. And We, even We, were the inheritors. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

How many a town We have destroyed that exulted in its lifestyle! There lie their dwellings, uninhabited after them except by a few, and We were the [sole] inheritors. - Qarai, Ali Quli

How many nations, who had enjoyed great prosperity, had We destroyed? Those are their homes which were not inhabited thereafter except for a short time. Only We were their heirs. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And how many a town have We destroyed which exulted in its means of subsistence, so these are their abodes, they have not been dwelt in after them except a little, and We are the inheritors, - Shakir, Habib

اور کتنی ہی ایسی بستیاں ہم تباہ کر چکے ہیں جن کے لوگ اپنی معیشت پر اترا گئے تھے سو دیکھ لو، وہ ان کے مسکن پڑے ہوئے ہیں جن میں ان کے بعد کم ہی کوئی بسا ہے، آ خرکار ہم ہی وارث ہو کر رہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کتنے شہر ہم نے ہلاک کردیے جو اپنے عیش پر اترا گئے تھے تو یہ ہیں ان کے مکان کہ ان کے بعد ان میں سکونت نہ ہوئی مگر کم اور ہمیں وارث ہیں - Ahmed Raza

اور ہم نے کتنی ہی ایسی بستیاں ہلاک کر دیں جو اپنی معیشت (خوشحالی) پر اترا گئی تھیں (دیکھو) یہ ان کے مکانات ہیں جو (اجڑے) پڑے ہیں جو ان کے بعد کم ہی آباد ہوئے ہیں آخرکار ہم ہی وارث ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَأَهْلُهَا

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبْعَثَ فِىٓ أُمِّهَا رَسُولًۭا يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا ۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِى ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَٰلِمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And never did thy Lord destroy the townships, till He had raised up in their mother(-town) a messenger reciting unto them Our revelations. And never did We destroy the townships unless the folk thereof were evil-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Your Lord would not destroy the towns until He had raised an apostle in their mother city to recite to them Our signs. We would never destroy the towns except when their people were wrongdoers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Your Lord did not destroy the people of the towns without first sending a Messenger to the mother town who would recite His revelations to them. We did not want to destroy the towns if the people therein were not unjust. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And your Lord never destroyed the towns until He raised in their metropolis an apostle, reciting to them Our communications, and We never destroyed the towns except when their people were unjust. - Shakir, Habib

اور آپ کا پروردگار کسی بستی کو ہلاک کرنے والا نہیں ہے جب تک کہ اس کے مرکزمیں کوئی رسول نہ بھیج دے جو ان کے سامنے ہماری آیات کی تلاوت کرے اور ہم کسی بستی کے تباہ کرنے والے نہیں ہیں مگر یہ کہ اس کے رہنے والے ظالم ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور تمہارا رب شہروں کو ہلاک نہیں کرتا جب تک ان کے اصل مرجع میں رسول نہ بھیجے جو ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھے اور ہم شہروں کو ہلاک نہیں کرتے مگر جبکہ ان کے ساکن ستمگار ہوں - Ahmed Raza

وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ فَمَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا ۚ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And whatsoever ye have been given is a comfort of the life of the world and an ornament thereof; and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting. Have ye then no sense? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Whatever things you have been given are only the wares of the life of this world and its glitter, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting. Will you not exercise your reason? - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Whatever you (people) have been given are only the means for enjoyment and beauty of the worldly life, but the means of enjoyment (which you will receive from God) in the life to come will be better and everlasting. Will you then not take heed? - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And whatever things you have been given are only a provision of this world's life and its adornment, and whatever is with Allah is better and more lasting; do you not then understand? - Shakir, Habib

Whatever you are given in this life is nothing but a temporary provision of this life and its glitter; what God has is better and more lasting. Will you not then understand? - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جو کچھ بھی تمہیں عطا کیا گیا ہے یہ چند روزہ لذت هدنیا اور زینت هدنیا ہے اور جو کچھ بھی خدا کی بارگاہ میں ہے وہ خیر اور باقی رہنے والا ہے کیا تم اتنا بھی نہیں سمجھتے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تم لوگوں کو جو کچھ بھی دیا گیا ہے وہ محض دُنیا کی زندگی کا سامان اور اس کی زینت ہے، اور جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ اس سے بہتر اور باقی تر ہے کیا تم لوگ عقل سے کام نہیں لیتے؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

أَفَمَن وَعَدْنَٰهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًۭا فَهُوَ لَٰقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُ مَتَٰعَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Is he whom We have promised a fair promise which he will find (true) like him whom We suffer to enjoy awhile the comfort of the life of the world, then on the Day of Resurrection he will be of those arraigned? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Is he to whom We have given a good promise, which he will receive, like him whom We have provided the wares of the life of this world, but who will be arraigned on the Day of Resurrection? - Qarai, Ali Quli

Is the case of those to whom We have promised good things - which they will certainly receive in the life to come - equal to the case of those to whom We have granted the means of enjoyment in the worldly life and who will certainly be questioned about them in the life to come? - Sarwar, Muhammad

Is he to whom We have promised a goodly promise which he shall meet with like him whom We have provided with the provisions of this world's life, then on the day of resurrection he shall be of those who are brought up? - Shakir, Habib
