فِىٓ

ءَابَآئِنَا

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ قَالُوا۟ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّفْتَرًۭى وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

But when Moses came unto them with Our clear tokens, they said: This is naught but invented magic. We never heard of this among our fathers of old. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When Moses brought them Our manifest signs, they said, [This is nothing but concocted magic. We never heard of such a thing among our forefathers.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

پھر جب موسیٰؑ اُن لوگوں کے پاس ہماری کھُلی کھُلی نشانیاں لے کر پہنچا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ کچھ نہیں ہے مگر بناوٹی جادوگر اور یہ باتیں تو ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کے زمانے میں کبھی سُنیں ہی نہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن جَآءَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ مِنْ عِندِهِۦ وَمَن تَكُونُ لَهُۥ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلدَّارِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And Moses said: My Lord is Best Aware of him who bringeth guidance from His presence, and whose will be the sequel of the Home (of bliss). Lo! wrong-doers will not be successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Moses said, [My Lord knows best who brings guidance from Him, and in whose favour the outcome of that abode will be. The wrongdoers will not be felicitous.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Moses said, [My Lord knows best who has received guidance from Him and who will achieve a happy end. The unjust ones certainly will have no happiness.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And Musa said: My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him, and whose shall be the good end of the abode; surely the unjust shall not be successful. - Shakir, Habib

And Moses replied, [My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him and who will attain the heavenly abode in the hereafter. The wrongdoers shall never prosper.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور موسٰی نے کہا کہ میرا پروردگار بہتر جانتا ہے کہ کون اس کی طرف سے ہدایت لے کر آیا ہے اور کس کے لئے آخرت کا گھر ہے یقینا ظالمین کے لئے فلاح نہیں ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

موسیٰؑ نے جواب دیا ——میرا رب اُس شخص کے حال سے خوب واقف ہے جو اس کی طرف سے ہدایت لے کر آیا ہے اور وہی بہتر جانتا ہے کہ آخری انجام کس کا اچھا ہونا ہے، حق یہ ہے کہ ظالم کبھی فلاح نہیں پاتے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور موسیٰ نے فرمایا میرا رب خوب جانتا ہے جو اس کے پاس سے ہدایت لایا اور جس کے لیے آخرت کا گھر ہوگا بیشک ظالم مراد کو نہیں پہنچتے - Ahmed Raza

وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرِى فَأَوْقِدْ لِى يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلطِّينِ فَٱجْعَل لِّى صَرْحًۭا لَّعَلِّىٓ أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And Pharaoh said: O chiefs! I know not that ye have a god other than me, so kindle for me (a fire), O Haman, to bake the mud; and set up for me a lofty tower in order that I may survey the god of Moses; and lo! I deem him of the liars. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Pharaoh said, [O [members of the] elite! I do not know of any god that you may have besides me. Haman, light for me a fire over clay, and build me a tower so that I may take a look at Moses] god, and indeed I consider him to be a liar!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The Pharaoh said, [My people, I know no one who could be your lord besides myself. Haman, construct for me a tower of baked bricks so that I may climb on it and see the God of Moses; I think he is a liar.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And Firon said: O chiefs! I do not know of any god for you besides myself; therefore kindle a fire for me, O Haman, for brick, then prepare for me a lofty building so that I may obtain knowledge of Musa's god, and most surely I think him to be one of the liars. - Shakir, Habib

Pharaoh said, [O nobles, I know of no god for you other than myself. So, Haman, burn me bricks of clay, and build me a high tower, so that I may have a look at the God of Moses, though I consider him to be one of the liars.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور فرعون نے کہا کہ میرے زعما ئ مملکت! میرے علم میں تمہارے لئے میرے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے لہٰذا ہامان! تم میرے لئے مٹی کا پجاوا لگاؤ اور پھر ایک قلعہ تیار کرو کہ میں اس پر چڑھ کر موسٰی کے خدا کی خبر لے آؤں اور میرا خیال تو یہ ہی ہے کہ موسٰی جھوٹے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور فرعون نے کہا ——اے اہل دربار میں تو اپنے سوا تمہارے کسی خدا کو نہیں جانتا ہامان، ذرا اینٹیں پکوا کر میرے لیے ایک اونچی عمارت تو بنوا، شاید کہ اس پر چڑھ کر میں موسیٰؑ کے خدا کو دیکھ سکوں، میں تو اسے جھُوٹا سمجھتا ہوں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور فرعون بولا، اے درباریو! میں تمہارے لیے اپنے سوا کوئی خدا نہیں جانتا تو اے ہامان! میرے لیے گارا پکا کر ایک محل بنا کہ شاید میں موسیٰ کے خدا کو جھانک آؤں اور بیشک میرے گمان میں تو وہ جھوٹا ہے - Ahmed Raza

اور فرعون نے کہا اے سردارو! میں تو اپنے سوا تمہارے لئے کوئی خدا نہیں جانتا تو اے ہامان! تو میرے لئے مٹی کو آگ میں پکا (مٹی کو کچی اینٹوں کو پکوا) پھر میرے لئے ایک بلند عمارت بنوا۔ تاکہ میں (اس پر چڑھ کر) موسیٰ کے خدا کا کوئی سراغ لگا سکوں اور میں تو اسے (اس دعویٰ میں) جھوٹا ہی خیال کرتا ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And he and his hosts were haughty in the land without right, and deemed that they would never be brought back to Us. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Therefor We seized him and his hosts, and abandoned them unto the sea. Behold the nature of the consequence for evil-doers! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And We made them patterns that invite unto the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And We made a curse to follow them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among the hateful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْقُرُونَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And We verily gave the Scripture unto Moses after We had destroyed the generations of old: clear testimonies for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy, that haply they might reflect. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We gave Moses the Book, after We had destroyed the former generations, as [a set of] eye-openers, guidance and mercy for mankind, so that they may take admonition. - Qarai, Ali Quli

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلْغَرْبِىِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلْأَمْرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
And thou (Muhammad) wast not on the western side (of the Mount) when We expounded unto Moses the commandment, and thou wast not among those present; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

You were not on the western side when We revealed the commandments to Moses, nor were you among the witnesses. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), you were not present at the west bank to witness when We gave the commandments to Moses. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور آپ اس وقت طور کے مغربی رخ پر نہ تھے جب ہم نے موسٰی کی طرف اپنا حکم بھیجا اور آپ اس واقعہ کے حاضرین میں سے بھی نہیں تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(اے محمدؐ) تم اُس وقت مغربی گوشے میں موجود نہ تھے جب ہم نے موسیٰؑ کو یہ فرمان شریعت عطا کیا، اور نہ تم شاہدین میں شامل تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور تم طور کی جانت مغرب میں نہ تھے جبکہ ہم نے موسیٰ کو رسالت کا حکم بھیجا اور اس وقت تم حاضر نہ تھے، - Ahmed Raza

وَلَٰكِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَا قُرُونًۭا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعُمُرُ ۚ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِيًۭا فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

But We brought forth generations, and their lives dragged on for them. And thou wast not a dweller in Midian, reciting unto them Our revelations, but We kept sending (messengers to men). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But We brought forth other generations and time took its toll on them. You did not dwell among the people of Midian reciting to them Our signs, but it is We who are the senders [of the apostles]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

But We raised many generations after Moses and they lived for many years. You did not dwell with the people of Midian reciting Our revelations to them, but We had certainly sent Messengers to them. - Sarwar, Muhammad

But We raised up generations, then life became prolonged to them; and you were not dwelling among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our communications, but We were the senders. - Shakir, Habib

We brought into being many generations who lived long lives, nor did you live among the people of Midian and recite our revelations to them, it is We who send messengers, - Wahiduddin Khan

لیکن ہم نے بہت سی قوموں کو پیدا کیا پھر ان پر ایک طویل زمانہ گزر گیا اور آپ تو اہل مدین میں بھی مقیم نہیں تھے کہ انہیں ہماری آیتیں پڑھ کر سناتے لیکن ہم رسول بنانے والے توتھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

بلکہ اس کے بعد (تمہارے زمانے تک) ہم بہت سی نسلیں اٹھا چکے ہیں اور ان پر بہت زمانہ گزر چکا ہے تم اہلِ مَدیَن کے درمیان بھی موجود نہ تھے کہ اُن کو ہماری آیات سُنا رہے ہوتے، مگر (اُس وقت کی یہ خبریں) بھیجنے والے ہم ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

مگر ہوا یہ کہ ہم نے سنگتیں پیدا کیں کہ ان پر زمانہ دراز گزرا اور نہ تم اہلِ مدین میں مقیم تھے ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھتے ہوئے، ہاں ہم رسول بنانے والے ہوئے - Ahmed Raza

لیکن ہم نے (اس اثناء میں) کئی نسلیں پیدا کیں اور ان پر زمانہ دراز گزر گیا ہے (اور ہمارے عہد و پیمان کو بھلا دیا) اور نہ ہی آپ مدین والوں میں مقیم تھے کہ ان کو ہماری آیتیں پڑھ کر سناتے لیکن ہم (آپ کو) رسول بنا کر بھیجنے والے تھے (اس لئے ان کے حالات سے آپ کو آگاہ کیا)۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلَٰكِن رَّحْمَةًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And thou was not beside the Mount when We did call; but (the knowledge of it is) a mercy from thy Lord that thou mayst warn a folk unto whom no warner came before thee, that haply they may give heed. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And you were not on the side of the Mount when We called out [to Moses], but [We have sent you as] a mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom there did not come any warner before you, so that they may take admonition. - Qarai, Ali Quli

You had not been present at the side of the Mount (Sinai) when We called Moses (from the tree), but through Our mercy we told you his story so that you might warn the people - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور تم طور کے دامن میں بھی اُس وقت موجود نہ تھے جب ہم نے (موسیٰؑ کو پہلی مرتبہ) پکارا تھا، مگر یہ تمہارے رب کی رحمت ہے (کہ تم کو یہ معلومات دی جار ہی ہیں) تاکہ تم اُن لوگوں کو متنبّہ کر دو جن کے پاس تم سے پہلے کوئی متنبّہ کرنے والا نہیں آیا، شاید کہ وہ ہوش میں آئیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور نہ تم طور کے کنارے تھے جب ہم نے ندا فرمائی ہاں تمہارے رب کی مہر ہے (کہ تمہیں غیب کے علم دیے) کہ تم ایسی قوم کو ڈر سناؤ جس کے پاس تم سے پہلے کوئی ڈر سنانے والا نہ آیا یہ امید کرتے ہوئے کہ ان کو نصیحت ہو، - Ahmed Raza

اور نہ آپ کوہ طور کے دامن میں موجود تھے جب ہم نے (موسیٰ کو) ندا دی تھی لیکن یہ (آپ کا مبعوث برسالت ہونا) آپ کے پروردگار کی رحمت ہے تاکہ آپ اس قوم کو ڈرائیں جس کے پاس آپ سے پہلے کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں آیا تاکہ وہ نصیحت حاصل کریں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
