قُلِ

لِلَّهِ

وَسَلَٰمٌ

ٱلَّذِينَ

قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ۗ ءَآللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Say (O Muhammad): Praise be to Allah, and peace be on His slaves whom He hath chosen! Is Allah best, or (all) that ye ascribe as partners (unto Him)?

Say, [All praise belongs to Allah, and Peace be to the servants whom He has chosen.] Is Allah better, or the partners they ascribe [to Him]?

(اے نبیؐ) کہو، حمد اللہ کے لیے اور سلام اس کے اُن بندوں پر جنہیں اس نے برگزیدہ کیا (اِن سے پوچھو) اللہ بہتر ہے یا وہ معبود جنہیں یہ لوگ اس کا شریک بنا رہے ہیں؟

أَمَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ حَدَآئِقَ ذَاتَ بَهْجَةٍۢ مَّا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُنۢبِتُوا۟ شَجَرَهَآ ۗ أَءِلَٰهٌۭ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ يَعْدِلُونَ

⦿

Is not He (best) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sendeth down for you water from the sky wherewith We cause to spring forth joyous orchards, whose trees it never hath been yours to cause to grow. Is there any Allah beside Allah? Nay, but they are folk who ascribe equals (unto Him)!

Is He who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water from the sky, whereby We grow delightful gardens, whose trees you could never cause to grow...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Indeed, they are a lot who equate [others with Allah].

[(Are the idols worthier or) the One who has created the heavens and the earth, who has sent water from the sky for you, who has established delightful gardens and you could not even plant one tree? Is there any Lord besides God? In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who deviate from the right path.

Nay, He Who created the heavens and the earth, and sent down for you water from the cloud; then We cause to grow thereby beautiful gardens; it is not possible for you that you should make the trees thereof to grow. Is there a god with Allah? Nay! they are people who deviate.

Who created the heavens and the earth and sends down water for you from the sky, by which We make luxuriant gardens grow, you could never make such trees grow in them, is it another deity besides God? No indeed, but they are a people who equate others with Him.

بھلا وہ کون ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا اور تمہارے لیے آسمان سے پانی برسایا پھر اس کے ذریعہ سے وہ خوشنما باغ اگائے جن کے درختوں کا اگانا تمہارے بس میں نہ تھا؟ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی دوسرا خدا بھی (اِن کاموں میں شریک) ہے؟ (نہیں)، بلکہ یہی لوگ راہِ راست سے ہٹ کر چلے جا رہے ہیں

ا وہ جس نے آسمان و زمین بنائے اور تمہارے لیے آسمان سے پانی اتارا تو ہم نے اس سے باغ اگائے رونق والے تمہاری طاقت نہ تھی کہ ان کے پیڑ اگاتے کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا ہے بلکہ وہ لوگ راہ سے کتراتے ہیں

(ان مشرکین سے پوچھو) بھلا وہ کون ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا؟ اور تمہارے لئے آسمان سے پانی اتارا؟ پھر ہم نے اس (پانی) سے خوش منظر (بارونق) باغات اگائے۔ ان درختوں کا اگانا تمہارے بس میں نہیں تھا۔ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور الٰہ ہے؟ بلکہ یہ (راہِ حق سے) انحراف کرنے والے لوگ ہیں۔

أَمَّن جَعَلَ ٱلْأَرْضَ قَرَارًۭا وَجَعَلَ خِلَٰلَهَآ أَنْهَٰرًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًا ۗ أَءِلَٰهٌۭ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

⦿

Is not He (best) Who made the earth a fixed abode, and placed rivers in the folds thereof, and placed firm hills therein, and hath set a barrier between the two seas? Is there any Allah beside Allah? Nay, but most of them know not!

Is He who made the earth an abode [for you], and made rivers [flowing] through it, and set firm mountains for it []s stability], and set a barrier between the two seas...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Indeed, most of them do not know.

[(Are the idols worthier or) the One who has made the earth a resting place, the rivers flow from its valleys, the mountains as anchors and a barrier between the two seas? Is there any lord besides God? In fact, most people do not know.

Or, Who made the earth a restingplace, and made in it rivers, and raised on it mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier. Is there a god with Allah? Nay! most of them do not know!

بھلا وہ کون ہے جس نے زمین کو قرار کی جگہ بنایا اور پھر اس کے درمیان نہریں جاری کیں اور اس کے لئے پہاڑ بنائے اور دو دریاؤں کے درمیان حد فاصل قرار دی کیا خدا کے ساتھ کوئی اور بھی خدا ہے ہرگز نہیں اصل یہ ہے کہ ان کی اکثریت جاہل ہے

اور وہ کون ہے جس نے زمین کو جائے قرار بنایا اور اس کے اندر دریا رواں کیے اور اس میں (پہاڑوں کی) میخیں گاڑ دیں اور پانی کے دو ذخیروں کے درمیان پردے حائل کر دیے؟ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا بھی (اِن کاموں میں شریک) ہے؟ نہیں، بلکہ اِن میں سے اکثر لوگ نادان ہیں

یا وہ جس نے زمین بسنے کو بنائی اور اس کے بیچ میں نہریں نکالیں اور اس کے لیے لنگر بنائے اور دونوں سمندروں میں آڑ رکھی کیا اللہ کے ساتھ اور خدا ہے، بلکہ ان میں اکثر جاہل ہیں

بھلا وہ کون ہے جس نے زمین کو قرارگاہ بنایا؟ اور اس کے درمیان نہریں (ندیاں) جاری کیں اور اس کیلئے بھاری پہاڑ بنائے اور دو دریاؤں کے درمیان پردہ حائل کر دیا۔ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور الہ ہے؟ بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر لوگ جانتے نہیں ہیں۔

أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَٰهٌۭ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

⦿

Is not He (best) Who answereth the wronged one when he crieth unto Him and removeth the evil, and hath made you viceroys of the earth? Is there any Allah beside Allah? Little do they reflect!

Is He who answers the call of the distressed [person] when he invokes Him and removes his distress, and makes you successors on the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Little is the admonition that you take.

[(Are the idols worthier or) the One who answers the prayers of the distressed ones, removes their hardship, and makes you the successors in the land? Is there any lord besides God? In fact, you take very little heed.

Or, Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes the evil, and He will make you successors in the earth. Is there a god with Allah? Little is it that you mind!

Who responds to the oppressed when he calls out to Him, and relieves his suffering and who will make you inheritors of the earth? Then, is there a god besides God? How little you pay heed!

بھلا وہ کون ہے جو مضطر کی فریاد کو سنتا ہے جب وہ اس کو آواز دیتا ہے اور اس کی مصیبت کو دور کردیتا ہے اور تم لوگوں کو زمین کا وارث بناتا ہے کیا خدا کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا ہے - نہیں - بلکہ یہ لوگ بہت کم نصیحت حاصل کرتے ہیں

کون ہے جو بے قرار کی دعا سنتا ہے جبکہ وہ اُسے پکارے اور کون اس کی تکلیف رفع کرتا ہے؟ اور (کون ہے جو) تمہیں زمین کا خلیفہ بناتا ہے؟ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا بھی (یہ کام کرنے والا) ہے؟ تم لوگ کم ہی سوچتے ہو

یا وہ جو لاچار کی سنتا ہے جب اسے پکارے اور دور کردیتا ہے برائی اور تمہیں زمین کا وارث کرتا ہے کیا اللہ کے ساتھ اور خدا ہے، بہت ہی کم دھیان کرتے ہو،

کون ہے جو مضطر و بے قرار کی دعا و پکار کو قبول کرتا ہے۔ جب وہ اسے پکارتا ہے؟ اور اس کی تکلیف و مصیبت کو دور کر دیتا ہے؟ اور تمہیں زمین میں (اگلوں کا) جانشین بناتا ہے؟ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور الہ ہے؟ نہیں - بلکہ یہ لوگ بہت کم نصیحت حاصل کرتے ہیں۔

أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ وَمَن يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ ۗ أَءِلَٰهٌۭ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ تَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

⦿

Is not He (best) Who guideth you in the darkness of the land and the sea, He Who sendeth the winds as heralds of His mercy? Is there any Allah beside Allah? High Exalted be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

Is He who guides you in the darkness of land and sea and who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Exalted is Allah above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him].

[(Are the idols worthier or) the One who guides you in the darkness of the land and sea and sends the winds bearing the glad news of His mercy? Is there any lord besides God? God is too exalted to be considered equal to anything else.

Or, Who guides you in utter darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy. Is there a god with Allah? Exalted by Allah above what they associate (with Him).

اور وہ کون ہے جو خشکی اور سمندر کی تاریکیوں میں تم کو راستہ دکھاتا ہے اور کون اپنی رحمت کے آگے ہواؤں کو خوشخبری لے کر بھیجتا ہے؟ کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی دُوسرا خدا بھی (یہ کام کرتا) ہے؟ بہت بالا و برتر ہے اللہ اس شرک سے جو یہ لوگ کرتے ہیں

یا وہ جو تمہیں راہ دکھاتا ہے اندھیریوں میں خشکی اور تری کی اور وہ کہ ہوائیں بھیجتا ہے، اپنی رحمت کے آگے خوشحبری سناتی کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا ہے، برتر ہے اللہ ان کے شرک سے،

جو خشکی اور تری کی تاریکیوں میں تمہاری راہنمائی کرتا ہے۔ اور اپنی (باران) رحمت سے پہلے ہواؤں کو خوشخبری دینے والا بنا کر بھیجتا ہے کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور الہ ہے؟ اللہ برتر و بالا ہے ان چیزوں سے جنہیں وہ اس کا شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں۔

أَمَّن يَبْدَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ وَمَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَٰهٌۭ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Is not He (best) Who produceth creation, then reproduceth it, and Who provideth for you from the heaven and the earth? Is there any Allah beside Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if ye are truthful!

Is He who originates the creation, then He will bring it back, and who provides for you from the sky and the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Say, [Produce your evidence, if you are truthful.]

[(Are the idols worthier or) the One who began the creation and who will turn it back, who gives you sustenance from the heavens and the earth? Is there any lord besides God? Say, [Bring your proof if what you say is true.]

Or, Who originates the creation, then reproduces it and Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth. Is there a god With Allah? Say: Bring your proof if you are truthful.

Nay, but doth their knowledge reach to the Hereafter? Nay, for they are in doubt concerning it. Nay, for they cannot see it.

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
