يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you of
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
have trust!
لَا
Don't
تَدْخُلُوا۟
enter
بُيُوتًا
houses
غَيْرَ
except
بُيُوتِكُمْ
your own houses
حَتَّىٰ
until
تَسْتَأْنِسُوا۟
you are civil (cordial and senseful)
وَتُسَلِّمُوا۟
and are peaceful
عَلَىٰٓ
upon
أَهْلِهَا
it's residents;
ۚ
ذَٰلِكُمْ
that for you is
خَيْرٌۭ
better
لَّكُمْ
for you
لَعَلَّكُمْ
that perhaps you
تَذَكَّرُونَ
recall it.
٢٤
٢٧
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ بُيُوتِكُمْ حَتَّىٰ تَسْتَأْنِسُوا۟ وَتُسَلِّمُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ O you of the ones who have trust! Don't enter houses except your own houses until you are civil (cordial and senseful) and are peaceful upon it's residents; that for you is better for you that perhaps you recall it.

O ye who believe! Enter not houses other than your own without first announcing your presence and invoking peace upon the folk thereof. That is better for you, that ye may be heedful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Do not enter houses other than your own until you have announced [your arrival] and greeted their occupants. That is better for you. Maybe you will take admonition. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Then if
لَّمْ

تَجِدُوا۟
you find
فِيهَآ
in it
أَحَدًۭا
anyone
فَلَا
then do not
تَدْخُلُوهَا
enter it
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُؤْذَنَ
permission is given
لَكُمْ
to you;
ۖ
وَإِن
and if
قِيلَ
is said
لَكُمُ
to you
ٱرْجِعُوا۟
[Go away],
فَٱرْجِعُوا۟
then go away!
ۖ
هُوَ
That is
أَزْكَىٰ
clearer
لَكُمْ
for you,
ۚ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One
بِمَا
with what
تَعْمَلُونَ
you are doing
عَلِيمٌۭ
is well informed.

٢٨
فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا۟ فِيهَآ أَحَدًۭا فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا حَتَّىٰ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِن قِيلَ لَكُمُ ٱرْجِعُوا۟ فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ ۖ هُوَ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌۭ Then if not you find in it anyone then do not enter it until permission is given to you; and if is said to you [Go away], then go away! That is clearer for you, and the One with what you are doing is well informed.

And if ye find no-one therein, still enter not until permission hath been given. And if it be said unto you: Go away again, then go away, for it is purer for you. Allah knoweth what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But if you do not find anyone in them, do not enter them until you are given permission. And if you are told: [Turn back,] then do turn back. That is more decent for you. Allah knows best what you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

پھر اگر وہاں کسی کو نہ پاؤ تو داخل نہ ہو جب تک کہ تم کو اجازت نہ دے دی جائے، اور اگر تم سے کہا جائے کہ واپس چلے جاؤ تو واپس ہو جاؤ، یہ تمہارے لیے زیادہ پاکیزہ طریقہ ہے، اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اسے خوب جانتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر اگر ان میں کسی کو نہ پاؤ جب بھی بے ما لکوں کی اجازت کے ان میں نہ جاؤ اور اگر تم سے کہا جائے واپس جاؤ تو واپس ہو یہ تمہارے لیے بہت ستھرا ہے، اللہ تمہارے کاموں کو جانتا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

It is not
عَلَيْكُمْ

an offense
أَن

تَدْخُلُوا۟

بُيُوتًا
houses
غَيْرَ
without
مَسْكُونَةٍۢ
anyone living
فِيهَا
therein
مَتَٰعٌۭ
as an amenity
لَّكُمْ
for you;
ۚ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One
يَعْلَمُ
knows
مَا
what
تُبْدُونَ
you reveal
وَمَا
and what
تَكْتُمُونَ
you conceal.
٢٤
٢٩
لَّيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُونَةٍۢ فِيهَا مَتَٰعٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ It is not upon you an offense that you enter houses without anyone living therein as an amenity for you; and the One knows what you reveal and what you conceal.
⦿
(It is) no sin for you to enter uninhabited houses wherein is comfort for you. Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

There will be no sin upon you in entering [without announcing] uninhabited houses wherein you have goods belonging to you. Allah knows whatever you disclose and whatever you conceal. - Qarai, Ali Quli

There is no harm for you to enter uninhabited houses where you have some goods. God knows whatever you reveal or hide. - Sarwar, Muhammad

It is no sin in you that you enter uninhabited houses wherein you have your necessaries; and Allah knows what you do openly and what you hide. - Shakir, Habib

تمہارے لئے کوئی حرج نہیں ہے کہ تم ایسے مکانات میں جو غیر آباد ہیں اور جن میں تمہارا کوئی سامان ہے داخل ہوجاؤ اور اللہ اس کو بھی جانتا ہے جس کا تم اظہار کرتے ہو اور اس کو بھی جانتا ہے جس کی تم پردہ پوشی کرتے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

البتہ تمہارے لیے اس میں کوئی مضائقہ نہیں ہے کہ ایسے گھروں میں داخل ہو جاؤ جو کسی کے رہنے کی جگہ نہ ہوں اور جن میں تمہارے فائدے (یا کام) کی کوئی چیز ہو، تم جو کچھ ظاہر کرتے ہو اور جو کچھ چھپاتے ہو سب کی اللہ کو خبر ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اس میں تم پر کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ ان گھروں میں جاؤ جو خاص کسی کی سکونت کے نہیں اور ان کے برتنے کا تمہیں اختیار ہے، اور اللہ جانتا ہے جوتم ظاہر کرتے ہو، اور جو تم چھپاتے ہو، - Ahmed Raza

اے نبیؐ، مومن مردوں سے کہو کہ اپنی نظریں بچا کر رکھیں اور اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کریں، یہ اُن کے لیے زیادہ پاکیزہ طریقہ ہے، جو کچھ وہ کرتے ہیں اللہ اُس سے باخبر رہتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

مسلمان مردوں کو حکم دو اپنی نگاہیں کچھ نیچی رکھیں اور اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کریں یہ ان کے لیے بہت ستھرا ہے، بیشک اللہ کو ان کے کاموں کی خبر ہے، - Ahmed Raza

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And tell the faithful women to cast down their looks and to guard their private parts, and not to display their charms, beyond what is [acceptably] visible, and let them draw their scarfs over their bosoms, and not display their charms except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband]s fathers, or their sons, or their husband]s sons, or their brothers, or their brothers] sons, or their sisters] sons, or their women, or their slave girls, or male dependants lacking [sexual] desire, or children who are not yet conscious of female sexuality. Tell the believing woman to cast down their eyes, guard their chastity, and not to show off their beauty except what is permitted by the law. Let them cover their breasts with their veils. They must not show off their beauty to anyone other than their husbands, father, father-in-laws, sons, step-sons, brothers, sons of brothers and sisters, women of their kind, their slaves, immature male servants, or immature boys. They must not stamp their feet to show off their hidden ornaments. All of you believers, turn to God in repentance so that perhaps you will have everlasting happiness. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say to believing women that they should lower their gaze and remain chaste and not to reveal their adornments -- save what is normally apparent thereof, and they should fold their shawls over their bosoms. They can only reveal their adornments to their husbands or their fathers or their husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons or their brothers or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons or maidservants or those whom their right hands possess or their male attendants who have no sexual desire or children who still have no carnal knowledge of women. Nor should they swing their legs to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. Believers, turn to God, every one of you, so that you may prosper. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور مومنات سے کہہ دیجئے کہ وہ بھی اپنی نگاہوں کو نیچا رکھیں اور اپنی عفت کی حفاظت کریں اور اپنی زینت کا اظہار نہ کریں علاوہ اس کے جو ازخود ظاہر ہے اور اپنے دوپٹہ کو اپنے گریبان پر رکھیں اور اپنی زینت کو اپنے باپ دادا.شوہر. شوہر کے باپ دادا .اپنی اولاد ,اور اپنے شوہر کی اولاد اپنے بھائی اور بھائیوں کی اولاد اور بہنوں کی اولاد اور اپنی عورتوں اور اپنے غلام اور کنیزوں اور ایسے تابع افراد جن میں عورت کی طرف سے کوئی خواہش نہیں رہ گئی ہے اور وہ بچےّ جو عورتوں کے پردہ کی بات سے کوئی سروکار نہیں رکھتے ہیں ان سب کے علاوہ کسی پر ظاہر نہ کریں اور خبردار اپنے پاؤں پٹک کر نہ چلیں کہ جس زینت کو چھپائے ہوئے ہیں اس کا اظہار ہوجائے اور صاحبانِ ایمان تم سب اللہ کی بارگاہ میں توبہ کرتے رہو کہ شاید اسی طرح تمہیں فلاح اور نجات حاصل ہوجائے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے نبیؐ، مومن عورتوں سے کہہ دو کہ اپنی نظریں بچا کر رکھیں، اور اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کریں، اور اپنا بناؤ سنگھار نہ دکھائیں بجز اُس کے جو خود ظاہر ہو جائے، اور اپنے سینوں پر اپنی اوڑھنیوں کے آنچل ڈالے رہیں وہ اپنا بناؤ سنگھار نہ ظاہر کریں مگر اِن لوگوں کے سامنے: شوہر، باپ، شوہروں کے باپ، اپنے بیٹے، شوہروں کے بیٹے، بھائی، بھائیوں کے بیٹے، بہنوں کے بیٹے، اپنے میل جول کی عورتیں، ا پنے مملوک، وہ زیردست مرد جو کسی اور قسم کی غرض نہ رکھتے ہوں، اور وہ بچے جو عورتوں کی پوشیدہ باتوں سے ابھی واقف نہ ہوئے ہوں وہ ا پنے پاؤں زمین پر مارتی ہوئی نہ چلا کریں کہ اپنی جو زینت انہوں نے چھپا رکھی ہو اس کا لوگوں کو علم ہو جائے اے مومنو، تم سب مل کر اللہ سے توبہ کرو، توقع ہے کہ فلاح پاؤ گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور مسلمان عورتوں کو حکم دو اپنی نگاہیں کچھ نیچی رکھیں اور اپنی پارسائی کی حفاظت کریں اور اپنا بناؤ نہ دکھائیں مگر جتنا خود ہی ظاہر ہے اور وہ دوپٹے اپنے گریبانوں پر ڈالے رہیں، اور اپنا سنگھار ظاہر نہ کریں مگر اپنے شوہروں پر یا اپنے باپ یا شوہروں کے باپ یا اپنے بیٹوں یا شوہروں کے بیٹے یا اپنے بھائی یا اپنے بھتیجے یا اپنے بھانجے یا اپنے دین کی عورتیں یا اپنی کنیزیں جو اپنے ہاتھ کی ملک ہوں یا نوکر بشرطیکہ شہوت والے مرد نہ ہوں یا وہ بچے جنہیں عورتوں کی شرم کی چیزوں کی خبر نہیں اور زمین پر پاؤں زور سے نہ رکھیں کہ جانا جائے ان کا چھپا ہوا سنگھار اور اللہ کی طرف توبہ کرو اے مسلمانو! سب کے سب اس امید پر کہ تم فلاح پاؤ، - Ahmed Raza

اور (اے رسول(ص)) آپ مؤمن عورتوں سے کہہ دیجئے! کہ وہ اپنی نگاہیں نیچی رکھیں اور اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاطت کریں اور اپنی زینت و آرائش کو ظاہر نہ کریں سوائے اس کے جو خود ظاہر ہو اور چاہیے کہ وہ اپنی اوڑھنیاں اپنے گریبانوں پر ڈالے رہیں اور اپنی زیبائش و آرائش ظاہر نہ کریں سوائے اپنے شوہروں کے، یا اپنے باپ داداؤں کے، یا اپنے شوہروں کے باپ داداؤں کے، یا اپنے بیٹوں کے یا اپنے شوہروں کے بیٹوں کے، یا اپنے بھائیوں کے یا اپنے بھتیجوں کے یا اپنے بھانجوں کے یا اپنے (ہم مذہب) عورتوں کے یا اپنے غلاموں یا لونڈیوں کے یا اپنے نوکروں چاکروں کے جو جنسی خواہش نہ رکھتے ہوں۔ یا ان بچوں کے جو ابھی عورتوں کی پردہ والی باتوں سے واقف نہیں ہیں اور وہ اپنے پاؤں (زمین پر) اس طرح نہ ماریں کہ جس سے ان کی وہ زیبائش و آرائش معلوم ہو جائے جسے وہ چھپائے ہوئے ہیں۔ اے اہل ایمان! تم سب مل کر اللہ کی بارگاہ میں توبہ کرو۔ تاکہ تم فلاح پاؤ۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And marry such of you as are solitary and the pious of your slaves and maid-servants. If they be poor, Allah will enrich them of His bounty. Allah is of ample means, Aware. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Marry off those who are single among you, and the upright among your male and female slaves. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His grace, and Allah is all-bounteous, all-knowing. - Qarai, Ali Quli

وَلْيَسْتَعْفِفِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ نِكَاحًا حَتَّىٰ يُغْنِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبْتَغُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِمَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ فَكَاتِبُوهُمْ إِنْ عَلِمْتُمْ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًۭا ۖ وَءَاتُوهُم مِّن مَّالِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ ۚ وَلَا تُكْرِهُوا۟ فَتَيَٰتِكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْبِغَآءِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَ تَحَصُّنًۭا لِّتَبْتَغُوا۟ عَرَضَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَمَن يُكْرِههُّنَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِكْرَٰهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And let those who cannot find a match keep chaste till Allah give them independence by His grace. And such of your slaves as seek a writing (of emancipation), write it for them if ye are aware of aught of good in them, and bestow upon them of the wealth of Allah which He hath bestowed upon you. Force not your slave-girls to whoredom that ye may seek enjoyment of the life of the world, if they would preserve their chastity. And if one force them, then (unto them), after their compulsion, lo! Those who cannot afford marriage should be continent until Allah enriches them out of His grace. As for those who seek an emancipation deal from among your slaves, make such a deal with them if you know any good in them, and give them out of the wealth of Allah which He has given you. Do not compel your female slaves to prostitution when they desire to be chaste, seeking the transitory wares of the life of this world. Let those who cannot find someone to marry maintain chastity until God makes them rich through His favors. Let the slaves who want to buy their freedom have an agreement with you in writing if you find them to be virtuous. Give them money out of God's property which He has given to you. اور جو لوگ نکاح کی وسعت نہیں رکھتے ہیں وہ بھی اپنی عفت کا تحفظ کریں یہاں تک کہ خدا اپنے فضل سے انہیں غنی بنا دے اور جو غلام و کنیز مکاتبت کے طلبگار ہیں ان میں خیر دیکھو تو ان سے مکاتبت کرلو بلکہ جو مال خدا نے تمہیں دے رکھا ہے اس میں سے کچھ انہیں بھی دے دو اور خبردار اپنی کنیزوں کو اگر وہ پاکدامنی کی خواہشمند ہیں تو زنا پر مجبور نہ کرنا کہ ان سے زندگانی دنیا کا فائدہ حاصل کرنا چاہو کہ جو بھی انہیں مجبور کرے گا خدا مجبوری کے بعد ان عورتوں کے حق میں بہت زیادہ بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور جو نکاح کا موقع نہ پائیں انہیں چاہیے کہ عفت مآبی اختیار کریں، یہاں تک کہ اللہ اپنے فضل سے اُن کو غنی کر دے اور تمہارے مملوکوں میں سے جو مکاتبت کی درخواست کریں ان سے مکاتبت کر لو اگر تمہیں معلوم ہو کہ ان کے اندر بھلائی ہے، اور ان کو اُس مال میں سے دو جو اللہ نے تمہیں دیا ہے اور اپنی لونڈیوں کو ا پنے دنیوی فائدوں کی خاطر قحبہ گری پر مجبور نہ کرو جبکہ وہ خود پاکدامن رہنا چاہتی ہوں، اور جو کوئی اُن کو مجبور کرے تو اِس جبر کے بعد اللہ اُن کے لیے غفور و رحیم ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور چاہیے کہ بچے رہیں وہ جو نکاح کا مقدور نہیں رکھتے یہاں تک کہ اللہ مقدور والا کردے اپنے فضل سے اور تمہارے ہاتھ کی مِلک باندی غلاموں میں سے جو یہ چاہیں کہ کچھ مال کمانے کی شرط پر انہیں آزادی لکھ دو تو لکھ دو اگر ان میں کچھ بھلائی جانو اور اس پر ان کی مدد کرو اللہ کے مال سے جو تم کو دیا اور مجبور نہ کرو اپنی کنیزوں کو بدکاری پر جب کہ وہ بچنا چاہیں تاکہ تم دنیوی زندگی کا کچھ مال چاہو اور جو انہیں مجبور کرے گا تو بیشک اللہ بعد اس کے کہ وہ مجبوری ہی کی حالت پر رہیں بخشنے والا مہربان ہے - Ahmed Raza

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star. (This lamp is) kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light. Allah guideth unto His light whom He will. And Allah speaketh to mankind in allegories, for Allah is Knower of all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اللہ آسمانوں اور زمین کا نور ہے (کائنات میں) اس کے نور کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے ایک طاق میں چراغ رکھا ہوا ہو، چراغ ایک فانوس میں ہو، فانوس کا حال یہ ہو کہ جیسے موتی کی طرح چمکتا ہوا تارا، اور وہ چراغ زیتون کے ایک ایسے مبارک درخت کے تیل سے روشن کیا جاتا ہو جو شرقی ہو نہ غربی، جس کا تیل آپ ہی آپ بھڑکا پڑتا ہو چاہے آگ اس کو نہ لگے، (اِس طرح) روشنی پر روشنی (بڑھنے کے تمام اسباب جمع ہو گئے ہوں) اللہ اپنے نور کی طرف جس کی چاہتا ہے رہنمائی فرماتا ہے، وہ لوگوں کو مثالوں سے بات سمجھاتا ہے، وہ ہر چیز سے خوب واقف ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

(This lamp is found) in houses which Allah hath allowed to be exalted and that His name shall be remembered therein. Therein do offer praise to Him at morn and evening. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

رِجَالٌۭ لَّا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَٰرَةٌۭ وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءِ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ ۙ يَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Men whom neither merchandise nor sale beguileth from remembrance of Allah and constancy in prayer and paying to the poor their due; who fear a day when hearts and eyeballs will be overturned; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

by men whom neither trade nor bargaining distracts from the remembrance of Allah and the maintenance of prayer and the giving of zakat. They are fearful of a day wherein the hearts and the sights will be transformed, - Qarai, Ali Quli
