وَتَٱللَّهِ

٥٧
وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَٰمَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ

⦿
And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs.

By Allah, I will devise a stratagem against your idols after you have gone away.]

Then he reduced them to fragments, all save the chief of them, that haply they might have recourse to it.

with our masters / gods,

of those who are
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the ones in darkness.]

٥٩
قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
They said, [Who was it who did this with our masters / gods, indeed he is of those who are the ones in darkness.]

They said: Who hath done this to our gods? Surely it must be some evil-doer.

They said, [Whoever has done this to Our gods?! He is indeed a wrongdoer!]

(When the people came to the temple and saw the broken idols) they asked each other, [Who has done this to our gods? He certainly is an unjust person].

They said: We heard a youth make mention of them, who is called Abraham.

They said: Then bring him (hither) before the people's eyes that they may testify.

He said: But this, their chief hath done it. So question them, if they can speak.

فَرَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

Then gathered they apart and said: Lo! ye yourselves are the wrong-doers.

Thereat they came to themselves and said [to one another], [Indeed it is you who are the wrongdoers!]

Thereupon they realized their own foolishness and said, [We ourselves are wrong-doers].

Then they turned to themselves and said: Surely you yourselves are the unjust;

اس پر ان لوگوں نے اپنے دلوں کی طرف رجوع کیا اور آپس میں کہنے لگے کہ یقینا تم ہی لوگ ظالم ہو

یہ سُن کر وہ لوگ اپنے ضمیر کی طرف پلٹے اور (اپنے دلوں میں) کہنے لگے ——واقعی تم خود ہی ظالم ہو——

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ

And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not.

Then they hung their heads. [However, they said,] [You certainly know that they cannot speak.]

With their heads cast down they said, [Abraham, you know that idols do not speak. How then can you ask such a question?]

Then they were made to hang down their heads: Certainly you know that they do not speak.

then they hung their heads, and said, [O Abraham! You know they cannot speak.]

اس کے بعد ان کے سر شرم سے جھکا دئیے گئے اور کہنے لگے ابراہیم تمہیں تو معلوم ہے کہ یہ بولنے والے نہیں ہیں

a thing,
وَلَا
neither
يَضُرُّكُمْ
gives you loss?]

٦٦
قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ
He said, [Are you in obedience of someone who is beneath the One, that which (or who) not gives you profit of a thing, neither gives you loss?]

He said: Worship ye then instead of Allah that which cannot profit you at all, nor harm you?

He said, [Then, do you worship besides Allah that which cannot cause you any benefit or harm?

He said, [Do you, instead of God, worship things that can neither harm nor benefit you?]

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
